Dream
In the fire world of Muspelheim, Surturroars in outrage. In two successive flashes of light, appear six old women wearing shawls. These women are the Nornír and the Morae, more commonly known by their respective pantheons as the Fates. The six weavers of fate approach the fire giant.
"Peace, fire giant. The threads of fate has been tampered with. You will have your chance." The Moraeclaim as one.
"Ragnarok was not meant to happen for another millennia. Even now, the chosen warrior of Fate is still but a child. He will fix the errors in the tapestry. You must guard the shard of Mijolnírthat has landed in your realm. When he arrives you may fight him to test his limits, even challenge his capabilities and battle prowess. But you must not kill him. He is vital to the Tapestry of Fate." The Nornír explain to the fire giant. Surtur ponders this new information. He knows his duty and time had not yet come. He decides to do as the Fates wish.
"Very well, ladies Fate. I shall do as you say. I await my young adversary." Surtur states in his deep, raspy voice. He sits down on his fiery throne and begins his wait, always making sure that the shard of the Thunder God's hammer does not get taken by anyone other than the young son of Thor.
"I await you in the Realm of Fire, son of Thor. I shall decide your worthiness." The primordial fire giant declares in his deep, raspy, and rumbling tone, as the Fates vanish to other adversaries of the young son of Thunder. Surtur's eyes glow a harsh but vibrant crimson and the scene playing in Perseus's dream bursts into a bright white.
Perseus shoots up, gasping and covered in sweat as he tries to settle his breathing and calm his heart rate. He ponders the information he learned from his dream.
"Odin's Beard! My first challenge and adversary will be Surtur himself. The primordial fire giant. I must get home and inform mother and Sigrún." He speaks to himself quietly. He stands up and walks around the campfire and wakes up Thalia first because for some reason that he cannot explain or understand, he feels drawn to her. He feels a connection to her as well almost like kinship, or something like it.
He shakes her awake, "Wake up Thalia. We have to wake up the others and get moving." She just groans and rolls over.
"Five more minutes, please?" Thalia slurs out still half asleep. Perseus sighs.
"Fine. But five minutes only, then we have to get going. We only have a six hour walk ahead of us." Perseus says.
Five minutes pass with Perseus keeping watch. He checks the position of the sun to gauge how much time has passed. He walks back over to Thalia.
"It's been five minutes Thalia. Time to get moving and wake the others." He says. She just grumbles.
"Don't make me shock you." Perseus says in a warning tone. Thalia sighs and sits up.
"Alright, alright. I'm up. No need to be such a stick in the mud, Percy." She says as she stands up and stretches.
Perseus blushes a little and looks away. He can tell that Thalia will be a very beautiful woman when she finishes growing. "What did you call me?" He asks a little confused.
"I called you Percy. Perseus is a bit of a mouthful, so I decided to shorten your name. Think of it as a nickname." She says completely straight faced. Though as she looks at him, she feels drawn to him.
"Oh," Perseus says, "how about I return the favor and call you... Thals." He says after a few seconds with a smirk. Thalia glares at him but Perseus can see the mirth behind it. He goes to wake up the son of Hermes while Thalia wakes up the youngest of the group, the young daughter of Athena, Annabeth. They gather around the still smoking ashes of the campfire and Perseus passes out granola bars to them.
"So Percy, what's the game plan for today? You know this area better than the three of us." Thalia asks.
Perseus takes a drink from his water bottle. "We're about a four, five hour hike away from my home if we go non-stop. My home is heavily warded against monsters and invaders, so you'll be safe there for a few days to rest and refresh yourselves." He says after swallowing his water.
Luke speaks up, "I'm sorry, but not all of us can hike non-stop for four hours, let alone five."
"You're absolutely right," Perseus starts to reply, "which is why I already thought of that. Annabeth will be carried by one of us when she tires. Any more questions?" He explains.
"What are we gonna do if we run into those skeleton things you fought when you rescued us?" Annabeth asks curiously. As a daughter of Athena she is always craving new knowledge and a way to plan for threats.
"None of you will be able to defeat the draugr because you don't have the right weapons. Only Uru, or better known as Asgardian Steel is the only metal known to be able to kill them and other Norse monsters. If we run into any draugr leave them to me." Perseus states bluntly.
"Oh," Annabeth says not expecting that answer.
Thalia looks at Luke and Annabeth. "What about Celestial Bronze?" She asks. "You can't expect us to let you fight alone." She states firmly.
Perseus thinks for a few moments. "I don't know. I honestly don't know if Celestial Bronze will work. But... If you have any powers they could possibly help hold them off until I can best them if you're determined on helping me. But otherwise if we run into draugr and I say run, you run. Understand? You run straight north. Now gather your things. We leave in five." Perseus says as he starts packing his bedroll up.
After everyone has gathered their belongings they head out, walking through the woods always on the lookout for any monsters. As they walk they make small talk, speaking about their parents, their homes, and anything that they could think of.
"My father Thor, is the Norse god of thunder, strength, fertility, and war. He's the most powerful of the Norse gods, second only in importance to my godly grandfather Odin. As for my powers, well I am able to summon lightning bolts powerful enough to kill hundreds of cannon fodder monsters at this level of power because I have not fully developed them. I'm strong enough to possibly put Heracles in a stalemate in strength. I have not been able to summon the storms my father is known for. However, Sigrún is working on a way to help me train my powers to the fullest." Perseus says, bragging a little bit, but trying to stay modest as well.
"Is that so? Well my father Zeus, is the King of Olympus and our thunder god, and I think he could kick your father's butt!" Thalia exclaims.
Perseus laughs hysterically for a few moments. "Oh, you're being serious?" He asks after seeing their straight faces. "My pantheon has been around much longer than the Olympians. My grandfather Odin, King of Asgard, as well as Asgard itself, has been around since the dawn of your primordials. My father is on par with Ouranos, I assume you know who that is, in power over lightning and thunder, and his strength is so strong that on Ragnarok when he fights Jörmungandr the world serpent, he hits him so hard that he shatters reality and sends the serpent back in time before his own birth. Let that sink in." Perseus explains to the Greek demigods.
The three listened in pure awe and shock at the revelation. Eventually Annabeth asks the question on the three of their minds.
"If your father is that strong and powerful, how strong will you eventually be?" She asks in pure awe at the knowledge.
"Well," he begins, "according to my current power growth in my abilities, I'll be on par with Zeus. As for my strength, I'll be strong enough to make both Hercules and Atlas look puny and weak when I am sixteen." Perseus says after thinking.
"Seriously?! Are we just going to believe this guy?" Luke exclaims in confusion and a little fear.
"I know it's hard to believe, but you'll have to trust me. At least just for the next few days Luke." Perseus says softly. "Truthfully, I'm not even human. I'm a Norse god sent here, to Midgard away from my home and father for my protection. I was just an infant when my home was invaded by the fire and frost giants." Perseus looks away sadly.
They all walk the rest of the way in an uncomfortable and awkward silence. The Greek trio follow just behind Perseus exchanging looks.
"Well gals and guy, welcome to my humble abode. Follow me." Perseus says quietly as they emerge from the woods to see a house bigger than any the Greek trio had ever seen before. The house was a two-story, almost suburban like building, with an electric blue paint job. Their jaws drop.
Perseus walks in the front door with them following just behind. "Mom! Sigrún! I'm home, and I have guests!" He calls out.
