Perseus couldn't believe what he just heard. He could've swore he was in Muspelheim only a few days, if not a few hours. He starts pacing around, thinking about how he was apparently gone for two years in Midgard, and it only feeling like it was a day at most in the Realm of Fire.
He pauses, "Aha! Time must move differently in each of the Nine Realms of Yggdrasil, thus, making two years pass here in Midgard while only a day at most passed considering I'm still 14. I must do more research!" He exclaims after thinking aloud, Sally having been able to hear him as he was still in the kitchen.
He rushes to his room, taking his armor off with a thought, and he starts going through his many books on Norse and Greco-Roman myth. He starts reading about each of the realms, as well as researching any time deities to possibly be able to stop the differences in time, looking for artefacts.
While researching, he came across nothing able to do this. At this revelation, he became despondent and slammed his book closed and placed his head in his palms. Eventually, the son of the Thunderer drifted off to sleep, where he would receive another vision.
Dream
Clashes of metal and battle cries sounded all around Perseus as he came to his bearings within his vision. He looked around, seeing a massive battle raging in the streets of what looked like... Manhattan? And they were defending the Empire state building of all places? He saw giant blue men turning things to ice with every step, disorganizing their attackers. 'Frost Giants,' Perseus thought with anger. He saw Centaurs, Cyclops, Hounds of Hell, and many more beasties. Then he noticed the storm, being created by... Thalia?!? How was she alive? It was then he saw himself, many tendrils of lightning arching from his body, his eyes glowing powerfully with pure electricity. He raised his mighty blade and fell to the earth with a mighty crack of thunder, lightning frying many enemies. He saw a man with eyes like molten gold wielding a scythe with deadly precision.
The scene changed to that of a siege on a mountain fortress, a Roman army advancing on it. Another storm raged, this one caused by a young man with blonde hair and electric blue eyes. The kid was battling a massive figure with a helmet with ram horns.
"You must unite these two groups, Perseus, or the world shall perish at the hands of your enemies. I gift you these prophetic dreams so you may be prepared. Bring honor to Asgard." The voice of the Allfather spoke to him.
Once more the scene changes to what looks like a Roman city made of ice with a lumbering giant seemingly made of metal sitting on a throne of ice laughing maniacally, he has a shard of the Thunderer's hammer and the Eagle of the twelfth legion!
"Your next task, Perseus, is to slay this beast and reclaim what is yours!" Six voices exclaim in unison.
Perseus awakes with a jolt, he had slept through the night and he now has another goal. He will defeat the metal monstrosity and claim his birthright! And with that, he heads to the arena to train.
After several hours, he returns to his room to once again conduct research. He grabs his Greco-Roman book that details all of the enemies of the Olympians, as well as his book of Norse enemies.
He spends a few hours pouring through both books, looking for anything that might resemble the metallic giant, with what looked like dragon legs. Soon, he had gone through the entirety of the Norse book not finding anything. It was in the Greco-Roman book that he found something of interest. There was a chapter about a group of beings created specifically to oppose the gods, each one countering a certain god. These beings are called the Gigantes, or more commonly known, Giants. Perseus marks down three of these beings due to their abilities.
1. Porphyrion: Created to oppose Zeus/Jupiter. Able to counter lightning and wind attacks.
2. Polybotes: Created to oppose Poseidon/Neptune. Can turn water into poison.
3. Alcyoneus: Eldest of the Giants, created to oppose Hades/Pluto. Can command the dead, and if able, can capture Thanatos to have the god of Death serve him. He is also only immortal in his homeland. This being can also manipulate precious metals.
As Perseus jots down a brief overview of Alcyoneus, he realizes that the Bane of Hades is the metallic giant from his vision!
'Odin's Beard! This will be the second Giant I face, and I have a feeling that he won't be as honorable as Surtúr.' Perseus thinks to himself with a groan of irritation.
It was at that moment, a wave of exhaustion flowed over him and he slumped down in his seat. As that was happening, his adoptive mother walked into his room.
"You should get some rest, Percy. You've been running yourself ragged all day." She says gently as she stands behind him.
"I will Mom. I've just had a lot on my plate recently, trying to recover the shards of Mjolnir, and I've found where another is, or rather who's in possession of it, but I don't know where the Giant is located." He says as he frustratedly runs a hand through his raven locks of hair.
His mother just hugs him gently, and pulls him over to his bed. As Perseus lays down and starts fall asleep, silently praying to any of the gods for a dreamless slumber, Sally softly kisses his forehead and brushes his hair out of his face.
"Sleep well, my strong and brave prince. You will avenge and make your family proud. I know you've made me proud." She whispers softly before leaving his room. After all, his name translates to Avenger, as well as Destroyer. And by Asgard, she knows her son destroys his enemies.
Dream
Perseus opens his eyes to a scene of a surprisingly modern looking Roman army getting ready to march. He notices a man and woman locked in an argument.
" You know how dangerous trying to control a prophecy is, Michael! You can't just march off to Alaska, the Hubbard Glacier at that because of paranoia!" The woman exclaims.
"It matters not, Olivia. The auguries have foretold that I am to to march to Alaska. Fifth Cohort, to arms!" The man, Michael exclaims as he and his cohort march, taking with them a familiar gold eagle standard on a quest destined to fail...
Elsewhere
A malicious presence is finally starting to grow enough strength to start manipulating people, and the first person he decides to start manipulating is a certain son of Hermes. So while Luke Castellan sleeps, the evil being starts enhancing his feelings of hatred and bitterness towards the gods.
The being cackles maniacally, "Soon, my traitorous children, soon. I will rise from this Pit and your own arrogance and children will be your downfall!" It states angrily and maliciously.
In the realm outside of Time and Space, the Norns and the Morai contemplate current and future events. They need to find a way to have Thalia Grace taken out of the tree, as she is the one destined to combat the Titan King, but first, they need to have another half-blood recover the Master Bolt...
The Next Day
Perseus wakes up with a jolt, he'd had another vision, this one giving him the location of Alcyoneus, as well as why the golden eagle standard had been there. He felt bad for the Cohort, they had went on what was basically a suicide mission. He gets out of bed and changes into a blue muscle shirt, dark blue cargo pants, and his combat boots.
He walks to the open-air arena and makes sure he has all of his needed supplies. He envisions the icy fortress he had seen in his vision and thrusts a hand to the heavens. A bolt of lightning dropped from the clear sky, and struck him. When the dust settled, he was gone.
A few moments later, another bolt of lightning dropped from the sky in the center of an icy Roman city, and in it's place was Perseus. He looks around cautiously, slowly making his way to the largest building. The temperature wasn't bothering him due to his Norse blood and heritage.
As he makes his way to the largest building, his boots lightly crunching through the snow, he notices many fallen Roman warriors. 'I pray you made it Elysium, brave warriors.' Perseus takes a moment of silence to show respect before moving on. Soon, he comes to the doors of the massive temple, and after a brief moment of hesitation, he places his hands on the doors and gives a light push. Perseus opens the doors with ease and steps inside.
Inside the building sat Alcyoneus lounging on a throne. The Bane of Hades sat with foolish confidence, assuming that he is unbeatable. Perseus internally scoffed at that.
The twenty foot tall being glanced up, and spoke with a surprisingly deep and smooth voice, much like Hades.
"Who are you, godling? Do you come seeking death?" Alcyoneus asks curiously.
Perseus summons his shield and sword and gets into a combat ready stance and speaks out confidently, "I do come seeking death. Your death, that is."
Alcyoneus laughs as if genuinely amused, "Foolish boy, I am unkillable! I will crush you like a bug!" He boasts arrogantly.
"We shall see about that." Came the simple reply.
Alcyoneus stands from his throne and holds out a hand. A fifteen foot long spear shot up through the ground into his hand, and the Giant assumes his combat stance.
On an unspoken signal, the two beings of immense power and strength shot at each other and clashed with a shockwave.
AN: Next update we'll get into the fight, and results for the poll are as follows: A lot of people want the main ship focus to be Perlia, so that's what it'll be. Pertemis will be rather slow burn, but eventually all three will get together.
As for future updates, on having Perseus age to 17 around sea of monsters, but be 16 for the end of lightning thief. I'm gonna have an arrogant son of Hercules be the "one to retrieve the master bolt." However a hint: he's gonna have his ass kicked by Ares and your favorite son of Thor will bust heads.
