Cascade and Avalora

Cascade is in a bedroom that was once his. There he is staring at the unconscious Weiss, whose abdomen is wrapped in bandages while it was spilt with blood, lying on a bed. Looking at her with such sadness as her face brought back fresh memories of his past. How he have met Avalora, and how he killed her out of heartbreak.

Despite his idea for revenge. He also has another idea about bringing back her soul into Weiss' body with a similar ritual used to bring his soul into Neptune's body. And there he caresses her cheek. And she hasn't flinch, since she has not yet recovered. Even so, she looks like she is sleeping. Her eyelids kinda flinch a bit, but still closed due to exhaustion from blood loss.

Just as I remember. Hair as white as snow, her eyes as cold as the icy waters. She may have betrayed me, but now we can start over when I'm done flooding Remnant, and then, I'll bring back your soul into this body. Then we can be the last ones on Earth. Never again will we be separated. Avalora, my beloved princess.

He pressed his forehead against hers. Covering her with a bedsheet and left the room. Having the thought of holding her in his arms again, to fall in love all over again. Even at the cost of two souls with their blood. As he strokes her cheek again. Cascade felt wrong as he saw the wound Weiss was inflicted. She may not be his beloved, but there is a chance to heal her from blood loss by passing his aura down to her by kissing her on the lips. Once he finished, he can hear her breath again.

"Nep...tune." Moaned Weiss. Cascade took one last glance at her before slowly closing the bedroom door. Locking the door from the front. Hyperion is standing nearby, unimpressed and disappointed to see him sparring the former heiress and bringing her to the temple.

"General, what were you thinking bringing her in our home? Don't you see? She is a Schnee for crying out loud. In case you have forgotten, her ancestor committed thievery in our island and cost you your former life. Her entire family should be destroyed, and she should die as well." Protested Hyperion.

But Cascade have gave him the daggered look. "I never wish this on her. Or anyone. Which is why, I am planning to bring her soul back in her vessel. Just like how you brought me back."

"With all due respect, General. Her family is guilty of our lineage being decimated for centuries. And you're serious about sparring that Schnee, just to bring back that traitor?" He then leans near to look in his eyes. Hyperion then sees how powerful his aura has become after using Neptune as a vessel for a human sacrifice to replace his soul. "Do not question me, Hyperion. Let me make this clear to you, as much as I am forever grateful to you for bringing me back. Only I can make decisions in this island. Too many of our elders have already made decisions for me and my brother since a young age. Even Milos have nagged me for meeting an outsider. But now, it's my decision to bring back the beloved I have lost, since 125 years ago. Do you understand?" He said sternly.

Hyperion sighed in defeat. Nothing in the world can stop Cascade for something he thought was worth fighting. "I understand, General." He saluted. And Cascade nods in approval. "Good. And if you laid a hand on Avalora's vessel. Than I won't hesitate to send you to the afterlife." Warned Cascade.

Hyperion looks at the door where Weiss was resting. And his expression is turned to disgust that Cascade would brought back someone who betrayed him. How could he forgive her this easily?

125 years ago, in the Great War

Cascade is lying unconscious in the snowy fields of Mantle. The last thing he remembers is that he and his brother are battling the Kraken, only for their ship to be abandoned due to the wreckage the sea Grimm caused.

It was a lot stronger than the Sea Feilong. Injured and pains of headache. Suddenly, there was a song. It was a sweet tune that mellowed his heart that keeps away the stubbornness. And when he woke up, It was Avalora sitting next to him. They locked eyes to one another.

That day, I never forget the beautiful voice of your song. As if the moon responds to your call.

The the scene switches when he and Avalora have battled the Kraken. The legendary Grimm that is once said to be a myth, but proven deadly otherwise. Cascade was caught by one of its tentacles, but Avalora saved him by cutting one of its arms. And then the rest. Then Cascade finishes it off by creating water slicers to cut the rest of it's arms.

Cascade will then meet her in the courtyard of her kingdom. To get to know her better. How she wished she was never born a royal. How much isolation it was being sheltered in the king's domain.

Later on, Cascade have snuck the princess to the Moon Festival in Anima. They were very careful not to be spotted by the Mistraalian Empress' guards, as they were allies to the Atlas Kingdom. By hiding under their hoods. Not only fireworks have bloomed in the starry sky. But at the moment they were on a lake, Cascade rows Avalora to the center and they saw meteorites falling from the shattered moon.

When they were done, they rowed back to shore. As they got out of the boat, Avalora tripped, but Cascade caught her to not let her fall. Avalora saw the gentle eyes as blue as the ocean. And Cascade endlessly look at hers. They aren't willing to let go of each other, pressing each other's lips. Unaware that somebody is watching.

I have cherished those memories I have shared with you. I wanted this to be forever. I didn't care what everyone else thinks. As long as I'm with you. That is, until one day.

Avalora is taking her stance against Cascade with her sword pointing at him. Cascade is holding his trident in his defesne. "Avalora, how could you?!" He said.

"I'm sorry, but I'm doing this for the sake of my kingdom! But if I don't do this, my father will take the lives of your people to get them to cooperate with them." Explained Avalora.

"I'm begging you, Avalora. Please return the stones to the island. You have no idea what will happen if they're not in their rightful place." Avalora cannot think of another way to escape. Her father already made it clear that if she doesn't hand him the moon stones, then she'll have no choice but to get rid of them. The king of Atlas wanted to obtain the stones badly to gain the power he wants. But with the lives he will manipulate, Avalora will have to throw them into the ocean. Never to be seen again. And that she did. And Cascade paled. Not he and his people are cursed.

"Avalora, why did you..." Cascade was cut off when Avalora have pulled her sword to not let him hesitate to treat her like an enemy before him. Her eyes masked the vanity she would never have. But underneath, it was a regrettable decision she has to make. "Forgive me, Cascade!"

They dashed at one another over the moon stones. Heartbroken and enraged. Cascade twirls his trident using rain water to form streams of water. Avalora dodges them by using glyphs to jump from.

Cascade only broke the shoulder part of her armor. Avalora lunges her blade while twisting to avoid them. A piece of his hair was chopped off. And so was hers when Cascade spun it on each side. The last straw is when Cascade stabbed her in the heart. She shrieked in agony. Despite the armor meant to be a shield. The trident of Cascade can penetrate through heavy metal.

Avalora has collapsed to the ground. With her upper body bleeding. "Cas...cade.." Gasped Avalora. She crawls to try to reach out to him, regretting for stealing from Poseidon Island. She only did it to save him. To free him from being hunted. Cascade didn't look back. He wanted to comfort her to tell her she'll be okay. But he is still fueled with anger. Feeling manipulated. "I'm...sorry...I just... don't...want you...to...die." She took her last breathe. And died right behind him. With Cascade walking away with regrets.

My heart broke. Your father have already taken you away from me. I was never afraid of dying. Being betrayed is what scares me the most. It was the last time I ever saw you.

In Poseidon Island, he returned to confess to his younger brother, Milos about what happened in hopes to get help in retrieving them. But to his shock, he was surrounded by the sea soldiers on the docks. Weapons pointed at him. His brother, Milos have walked past them, glaring at him with hatred. "You have seen her, didn't you?" Daggered Milos.

Knowing his older brother. Whenever he asked a question to him, he would remain silent until he could come up with a lie. But this time, Cascade has nothing to lie about and just nodded. He the turned to their comrades. "Take him away. He is to be executed on a few weeks."

The last thing Cascade remembers is writing down the last words in his journal. And it was the day of his execution. Disgraced all in the name of his decisions and love. He was then restrained on the same rock panel Neptune would be for the ritual. Water rises until it rises above his head. Drowned at the last moments of life.

Author's note: To answer the questions for the reviewer for the previous chapter. This is pretty much the same RWBY Universe, I wanted to write a fanfic that involves a dystopian future as Salem rules Remnant, and the next generation are forced to fight for freedom.

And for the second answer, like Yang and Nora, Oscar is pretty much taking his time to adjust Ozpin's magic, I until then, for those who root for the Rose Garden ship, it is not yet confirmed. But in my future fanfic, you'll see.
