(Clark 29, Percy 13)
It was the very first day of the school year. Percy gotten home two days before so she could get her school uniform and supplies. Percy was in a not so new city going to a new school.
Percy had been transferred to Gotham academy by her parents. It was the day after her birthday when the transfer was completed.
Percy stood in front of the large school. She was smoothing out her skirt. This was her first time being the new girl. Gotham Academy was like her last school. The same school but three buildings for the elementary, middle and high schools.
She was in the middle school part with Dick in the elementary school. Percy couldn't begin to imagine what Dick was going through right now. He had been a homeschooled circus brat all his life.
Percy took a deep breath and went into the building. It was a lot different than the school in metropolis. It was a whole lot bigger for one thing.
Percy walked up to one of the teachers giving out the schedules. Percy was still nervous.
"Your name?" She said in a monotone voice
"Persephone Kent." Percy said
One could tell Percy was nervous. I showed in the way she wiped her hands on her skirt and the sound of her voice.
Percy was handed her schedule. She went to her first class, which was Ancient Greek studies. A class she had excelled at last year. This one was actually advanced Ancient Greek studies. This class dived further into the time. Percy loved the ancients.
A boy soon sat next to her. Percy looked to him. He had light brown hair, blue eyes and a nice smile. Percy melted under his smile.
But Percy began to wonder why this boy next to her had this smile. Only gods and demigods have that kind of smile. Especially when Percy was talking to Will Solace, the Stoll brothers and Leo Valdez this past the summer.
"Hi, I'm Roy Harper." He said holding out his hand to Percy
"I'm Percy Kent." Percy said shaking his hand
"I've heard of you." Roy said in a knowing voice
"Really?" Percy asked in a voice she mastered since she was five and had met the justice league at mount justice.
"See, I live with Oliver Queen and he and Dinah like to talk about you a lot." Roy said
"I'm only here because Oliver and Bruce Wayne love me." Percy said placing her hand over her heart and a smile
The class soon started. The teacher came into the room. Percy heard a familiar whine to a familiar wheelchair. To Percy's shock and joy, it was Chiron masquerading as Mr. Burnner once again. Percy's jaw dropped.
"Hello class. I am your teacher Mr. Burnner. And this advanced Ancient Greek studies. So if you didn't sign up for this class, please leave." He said in his teachers voice
He looked around the class to see if anyone had left the. No one had. Soon his eyes landed on Percy. A bright smile grew on his face.
"Oh, Persephone. Nice to see you again." Chiron said with a knowing wink
"Nice to see you again too Mr. Burnner." Percy said
"Can I see you up here for a second." Chiron said motioning for her to come to him
Percy walked up to her teacher. They began to talk in hushed tones and in Greek.
"Ti symvaínei sto Hades edó, Chiron?" Percy asked (What in the Hades is going on here, Chiron?)
"To agóri pou káthetai dípla eínai o gios tou Apóllona." Chiron said (The boy you are sitting next to is the son of Apollo.)
"O Roy eínai o gios tou Apóllona?" Percy asked in a surprised tone (Roy is the son of Apollo?)
"Ára archízeis na ton káneis?" Chiron asked surprised (So you're starting to befriend him?)
"Zei me ti vasílissa tou Óliver. Kai o Óliver me agapá." Percy said (He lives with Oliver Queen. And Oliver loves me.)
"O Roy eínai epísis klironomiá tou Ares." Chiron said, (Roy is also a legacy of Ares.)
This shocked Percy to no end. It was rare for a half blood to also be a legacy to another god.
"Ti tha kánoume? Eíche to aíma dýo theón mésa tou. I myrodiá tou eínai tóso dynatí óso i dikí mou." Percy asked (What are we going to do? He had the blood of two gods in him. His odor is as strong as mine.)
Chiron knew Percy's scent was almost nonexistent. Monsters would've had to have a god guide them to her. Like Hades and the fury at the end of last school year. But he knew what she meant. A demigod child to a god who was also a legacy to another god had a scent as strong as if they was a child of one of the big three.
"Échete ekpaidefteí apó to Amazon sto Themyscira ópos eíche programmatisteí?" Chiron asked (Did you get training from the Amazons on Themyscira like planned?)
"Nai. To ékana. Giatí rotás?" Percy said (Yeah. I did. Why do you ask?)
"Tha se chreiastó gia na ton prostatépseis óso to dynatón kalýtera." Chiron explained (I am going to need you to protect him to the best of your abilities.)
Percy nodded to her mentor.
"Now go back to your seat. And make sure he is your friend throughout the school year." Chiron whispered in English.
Percy nodded and went back to her seat. Chiron started to teach. Well, he started to talk about the syllabus and what they would be doing that year.
"What was that?" Roy asked in a whisper
"Burner and I needed to straighten somethings out." Percy whispered back to Roy
The class went on. Percy loved the sound of Chiron's voice. The loud raspy tones of Chiron's voice kind of reminded Percy of her grandpa in a way. Or the actor Pierce Brosnan.
It was understandable though. Chiron was the trainer of heroes at camp, so he had to yell at campers for years. Some days he would loose his voice. And Chiron was like thousands of years old.
The day went on. Percy found out that Roy had the same schedule as she did. So it was easier to keep an eye on him.
The day was soon over. Percy was out front. She waited for Dick to come from the elementary school and Alfred to pick them up.
Percy was sitting on a bench reading a book when Roy came up to her.
"Hey Roy. What's up?" Percy asked
"I just wanted to say thanks for being my friend. I've never really had any till I met Oliver and Dinah then you." Roy said
"It's no problem Roy. I really never had any friends at my last school. Over there, everyone was mean. Well not Grover." Percy said
"Who's Grover?" Roy asked
"A friend of mine who got transferred to a school up in Maine." Percy said
Soon Dick walked up to Percy. He didn't look all that happy. Hello led tired and grumpy. Like he wanted to punch someone but needed to get away before it happened.
"Okay Percy, I'm here." Dick said
Percy turned to the 9 year old.
"Good. Now all we have to do is wait for Alfred." Percy said
As of on cue, Alfred pulled up to the curb.
