(GREETINGS AND SALUTATIONS LADIES AND GENTLEMEN AND THIS IS THE AGENT OF LITERATURE SIGNING ON.)

So like many of you when it was first announced that Spider-man would be joining the MCU,I was excited,Spider-man was going to be on the big screen with Iron man,Thor,Captain America and many others,it was a dream come true.

But like some of you the choices they've made with the character in his movies,aren't exactly..amazing.

Don't get me wrong,I like these movies,Tom holland does an amazing job with what he is given,but in trying to distance themselves from the previous film series,they've completely forgotten why people liked Spider-man to begin with.

Now am I saying that I want to see Uncle Ben get shot again,no,do I want to see Peter get bitten by the Spider again,no,do I want the movies to remember why the character of Spider man is so well liked and means so much to people,Yes.

And for me,it all begins with his first appearance in Civil war.

When Tony asks why Peter does what he does, what's his MO(motivation)for being Spider-man,this is what Peter says…

"Because... because, I've been me my whole life, and I've had these powers for six months. I read books, I build computers, and I would love to play football, but I couldn't then so I shouldn't be able to now…"

He then finishes by saying this…..

"When you can do the things that I can, but you don't, and then the bad things happen? They happen because of you."

That last part does sound a lot like something Peter would say,but the problem is that it follows the line about playing football and how he shouldn't play now since he has powers and such….that doesn't sound like Peter,that doesn't sound like Spider-man.

Call me a Spider-man purest,rope me in with people like Hi-top films,Bowtable,Kwing,or even the amazing Lucas,who feel that Spider-man hasn't been given the just representation he deserves,but I can't deny that I've been disappointed with this version of the character.

And after watching that scene from Civil war,I can see why.

So I want to rewrite this line of dialogue real quick before we get to the meat of this whole reason we're here,and let me just say real quick,I do like these movies,I don't love them,but I do like them.

And if you like what they did with the character of Spider-man in this version,that's fine,more power to you,I personally do not.

Now,here's the new line of dialogue for this scene.

Tony:Why are you doing this,what's your MO,I gotta know what gets you out of that twin bed every morning?

Peter:Because...because I've been me my whole life and then I got these powers six months ago,and I was able to be someone else.

But six months ago,I made a decision that resulted in the loss of someone close to me,and now I'm trying to make up for that mistake.

Tony:So you're looking for redemption.

Peter:I'm looking for penance….when you can do the things that I can,and you don't and then the bad things happen,they happen because of you.

Isn't that so much better than the original,it only hints at his origin,it doesn't name drop Uncle Ben,there's no flashback or over-long explanation about Peter's beginning,it's short and sweet to the point.

Now again,I don't hate these movies,I do like them,I just wish the writers took better care with handling the character then they have.

They've given more care to explain Captain marvel,and she's still not as liked as the other characters in the MCU.

So why do I say all this?

Well,because I'm going to rewrite Spider-man:Homecoming/Far from home.

But instead of doing what I've done for Marvel NG and My DCEU rewrite,I'm actually going to rewrite the entire thing using Troyoboyo17(AKA Fanboy rewrites)outline for both films.

We may not agree on a lot of things(politically anyway)but we do agree on this.

I will be taking his outline and actually write a full transcript for both Homecoming and Far from home,I'll probably make a few changes and additions of my own,but his idea will roughly stay the same.
