A smile broke out of her on the familiar line, of course he remembers everything after all we are soulmates and he is the only love of my life.

Then he took her face in his hands and kissed her forehead and quietly left.

Leaving Lily to dream about that "someday"

Now she felt how he must have felt when she married Bart.

But she deserved it.

They deserved time.

Coz the time needs to be perfect this time.

As it was the last time they were going to try.

Break it or make it kinda situation.

And she sure as will try to make it to the end.

They took different jets ; Lily, the Bass Jet and Rufus of course, his official private jet of RoseWood.

The tour or the cruise had been organised by Royal Caribbean International with the ship called Oasis.

Royal Caribbean International's Oasis-class cruise,the world's largest passenger ship currently in service. Thus, for obvious reasons, Symphony of the Seas is one the most expensive cruise ships in the world now with a cost of production of $1.35 billion.

Built by STX France, the vessel measures 1188 feet in length, 215.5 feet in width and 238 feet in height, with a gross registered tonnage of 228,081t.

The ship that started its maiden voyage in April 2018 features 18 decks and capable of accommodating a maximum of 6,680 passengers and a 2,200-person crew.

The features aboard this luxury cruise ship include 22 restaurants, 24 pools, children's water park, ice-skating rink, full-size basketball court, and two 43-foot rock-climbing walls etc.

It was just like a dream.

But when the leaders of the world were concerned, nothing but the finest had to be delivered.

The first few days were, well very boring.

They were full of debates, discussions with lavish dinners and lunches.

The people were divided on the basis on the cities they represent.

Obviously Rufus and Lily on the same table of discussion.

There were only two more candidates from New York.

One was Chef Thomas Keller, owner and CEO of chain of Restaurants called Per Se. He was a well-groomed man, clean shave,blue eyes and blonde hair. A walking and talking Ken doll.

Another one was Sarah Lockwood, owner of furniture chains called Fabulousite. She was blonde, above average height with cute stormy eyes like Damon Salvatore. Except eyes she was a freaking copy of Gwyneth Paltrow.

Rufus and Lily both hated them.

Reason?

Thomas was well-known,successful and very handsome and Lily was acting to be mesmerized by him, laughing at his joke and touching his shoulder while conversing.

Sarah was a beautiful woman too with perfect teeth.

Rufus was onto Sarah, charming her, telling her jokes, flirting hilariously in Lily's face.

That's why they hated them.

While dinner Rufus danced with Sarah while Lily with Thomas.

"So, trying to make her jealous?' Sarah asked amused.

Rufus raised his brows in concern. "I--"

She smiled and replied. "Don't worry she'll be yours till the end of the tour. It's so obvious because of your failed attempts to hide that you're jealous."

Rufus blushed. "Lily and I, we're complicated."

Sarah asked again. "Try me."

Rufus then started telling her how he met Lily Rhodes.

With Trent Raznor, back of a Nine Inch Nails Bus, with shoes in her earrings.

Lily glanced at Rufus and Sarah.

God, she was all wrong for Rufus.

And then Rufus blushed.

That was the last straw.

How dare someone make him blush other than her?

She was almost breaking the dance but Thomas stopped her.

"No offense, but trying to make him jealous by keeping tracks on him not the way, there's only one way to make a man jealous"

Lily almost mentally slapped her at the familiar line.

She smiled shyly.

But Thomas cleared the air.

"I was playing along because your obvious attempts were too painfully to pass by. No offense you're a beautiful woman but I'm gay. But doesn't hurt to flirt with women."

Lily laughed and replied. "Non taken. My son is proud and openly gay."

Thomas moved his head back in amusement. "You truly don't look like someone's mom. But you have a great taste." Thomas said that looking towards Rufus, who quickly turned his head away.

Thomas then gently leaned down and gently pecked Lily's lips.

Lily smiled into the kiss. Thomas was such a gentlemen.

"I have kids. Three my own. One adopted for whom I am here, as he is busy for his twins arrival."

"Yes I know. Charles or Chuck Bass. You're THE Lily Van der Woodsen."

She tensed at 'Van der Woodsen' but recovered quickly.

"Rhodes, actually, but it's fine. So do you have kids?"

"Yeah. One boy from a college ex-girlfriend. It was long ago before I discovered my true self."

After dessert and some open karaoke, Lily found herself on the balcony admiring the blue ocean, deep in thought.

That's where Rufus found her, leaning on the railing of the balcony.

He walked towards her, hands in his dress pants, tie now loosened.

He stood on his back on the railing,hands balancing him on them.

Lily looked at him.

"Sarah seems...nice."

He tilts his head and looks at her with a smirk.

"We both know, that's bullshit."

Lily prevents the smile forming, retaining her poker face.

"We both know you hate her, you hate seeing her with me. Period."

"And you hate seeing me with Thomas. Period."

"Seriously, Lil, using my own advice against me? Not fair."

Now she looked away, ocean seeming more interesting rather than talking her feelings.

"Serena called. Divorce is on 9th."

Rufus replies nodding."I know. Who do you think is paying for Harvey Specter? Dan certainly isn't."

Lily laughs lightly. "Well, Bruce is on Bass payroll, so I don't have to worry."

Rufus nows steps closer and turns towards Lily.

"Harvey's a childhood friend, use to be in the baseball with me."

Now Lily was surprised. She honestly knew nothing about his High School just that he was born in Boston.

"You were in Baseball? I thought maybe the Choir or the Glee Club."

"l learned guitar and singing from my father. Yes, I was in the Glee Club but I did sports too. Majority for girls."

Lily shook her head.

"Any other things I don't know about you?"

Rufus pretended to think for a moment then snapped his fingers.

"Oh, yeah I dated Madonna in High School."

Lily shot him a death glare. Madonna had almost landed in his list and she didn't like the woman.

"You didn't. You said you almost slept with her but after seeing she was a bit cuckoo, you didn't."

Rufus smirked at her and Lily gave him a piercing look.

"Admit it. You're falling for me. Again."

"Of course, it's your perverted habits of sleeping with women half your age,your failed attempts to make me jealous and finally, your pathetic flirtation remarks. I don't know why Lisa left you. Oh right, because she was tired of being cheated on." She said sarcastically.

Rufus' face dropped from flirty to serious at her last remark.

"I never cheated on Lisa, she got tired of being paranoid all the time from the interns." He said coldly.

Lily looked at the hurt look on his face and mentally slapped herself for that remark. He would never do that when he knows how its feels to be cheated on.

"Rufus, I'm sorry I didn't mean--"

He smiled weakly and raised his hand to stop her.

"It's fine. I know the rumors and the accusations the media told. Never thought you were a believer of those things. I know how it feels and I would never do it to anyone who has been so good to me. She didn't deserve this kinda guy where she had to second guess herself. I would never cheat on anyone. Not Lisa. Not Anyone. Even you. Especially you." He whispered the last part.

With that said he turned to walk away but Lily grabbed him and turned him to look at her.

She looked at him with a soft and pleading look.

"I'm sorry for that time when I believed that Holland bitch. Deep down I think knew you would never do that but--"

He nodded his head, "I know, if anyone would have come and said you slept with them I would have believed them too. See, this. This is what I'm talking about, we could never be sure about each other and trust each other and keep secrets."

Lily came closer to him and removed her hand from his.

"But what if we could overcome those past mistakes?'

Rufus took a step closer too. Almost face to face, invading each other's private space. He took a strand of her hair and put it behind her ear and Lily closed her eyes in pleasure of having him in her space.

"What if we could?"

Lily whispered almost touching his lips, their breaths teasing each other. Their eyes filled with lust, almost dilated, from hazel and green to black. Their desires on the peak.

Then suddenly, their lips smashed against each other.

Lily's hand went on his neck, stroking from there to the small curls at the back on his neck. Rufus' went to her hips and pulled her closer to him, their torsos touching each other's fueling up the urging need to fuck each other.

Lily opened her mouth inviting Rufus' tongue in, which he very much appreciated as their tongues met in the middle, tip against tip, engaged in the fight of dominance. Lily bit his lower lip, sucked on it remembering how crazy it used to drive him.

And a turn on for him is a definitely for her too.

They broke apart needing the air fill their lungs. Resting their foreheads against each other. Both heaving with breathlessness.

Rufus spoke first as he looked at his watch, it was midnight.

"Happy Anniversary, Lil."

She looked up. "Happy Anniversary, Rufus, care to celebrate it in our private quarters?"

He tilted his head a bit and took a step back.

"Of course not, I'm not going to be so easy to catch, you will have to go to the lengths I went to woo you, to get you. I'm not a cheap date, Rhodes."

She fake pouted.

"Since when?"

"Since always Rhodes, but I always wooed you, now's your turn."

With that he left.

Oh, it's on Humphrey, Lily thought and went back to Thomas.

The next morning, ship docked at Venice.

A private tour was arranged for all, in the same groups of cities.

Rufus went with Sarah. He was dressed in a dark blue US Polo shirt with khaki Puma shorts, black ankle length socks with Fendi men's casual shoes with brown Tom Ford sunglasses.

Sarah wore Capri jeans with Louis Vuitton floral design white and pink shirt with some Louboutin flats with pink Prada aviators.

Thomas wore a Armani grey three piece suit with grey tie and black Tom Ford dress shoes with some black Ray-Bans.

Lily, surprisingly, wore Levi ripped jeans with white Gucci formal button up with Chanel flats and some Dior sunglasses.

When assembled, Rufus scanned Lily in her casual outfit from her shirt to ripped jeans, surprised seeing her outfit.

When she turned and saw him staring, she herself did a quick scan of his clothes and smirked at him.

Seeing her smirk, Oh, it's on he thought.

This canal-filled city is equal parts gritty and romantic, known as a fishermen's town turned cultural hub. Venice is popular for honeymooners and international tourists alike, filling the elaborate, sinuous system of canals with the buzz of activity. Like Rome and Florence, there's a magic to the city's energy that sweeps you up in it, whether you're exploring St. Mark's Square on foot or enjoying a gondola ride along the Grand Canal before sailing on one of our cruises from Venice.

The historic beauty of Venice dates back to the Middle Ages, and ever since, it has captivated the public consciousness in a way that cities like Paris and New York do. Art buffs, foodies, historians, and laid-back beachgoers will all find something to love in Venice. If you're craving time away from the crowd, head to the Lido sandbar for a little rest and relaxation. Ideally, find one of the city's signature red rooftops and take a panoramic shot overlooking the water and the city all in one. Fresh Adriatic seafood and copious amounts of pasta, wine, and gelato are called for, if not a mandatory part of, a Venice cruise.

The first stop was St. Mark's square.

You'll immediately recognize St. Mark's Square when you arrive in Venice. After all, it's one of the city's most iconic vistas, whether you're stopping along the Grand Canal, visiting its namesake basilica, or strolling the area's variety of eateries and shops. St. Mark's Square is the heart of the city, so you can't miss it while you're here on a Venice cruise.

Rufus had brought his Canon DSLR and quickly took some snaps of it.

While Lily had also brought her Fuji DSLR and took snaps of it too.

Next they went to Rialto Bridge.

The Rialto Bridge crosses the Grand Canal, and it's one of Venice's most enduring landmark sights. Built in the 16th century, the bridge is a magical place where you'll truly feel like you're living in an Italian postcard.

Then onto Doge's Palace.

The Venetian Gothic legacy is intact because of the architecturally stunning Doge's Palace, filled with Italian art, high ceilings, and religious iconography that art history buffs can't miss.

Lily and Thomas took an audio tour but Sarah and Rufus took a stroll in the courtyard. Coincidentally, Sarah was a fan of art too.

Having it being afternoon already the tour ended takings Gondola ride. [The long boat which is mandatory if you went to Venice.]

To skip a gondola ride in Venice is like going to Paris and not seeing the Eiffel Tower. It's an unmissable experience no matter if it's your first time in Venice or you've seen the city many times. After being on cruises from Venice, there's nothing more charming than seeing the city from a nimble, tiny gondola.

After that the guide parted the ways of the couples, saying to remember a dead mark of returning by 5 as they were to leave at 5:30.

Rufus and Sarah first went to shop some souvenirs from a local.

Thomas and Lily directly went to eat Lunch.

Venice is a foodie's destination through and through. Restaurants and bars wind along the canal, and an unhurried approach is what makes a long lunch so satisfying here. Like the rest of Italy, you're better off eating dinner a little later in the evening as the Italians do. Grab a spritz or a tall glass of wine and taste the region's typical pasta entrees and plates of fresh Adriatic fish. Enjoy raw fish, crudo, as the Italians say, if you're feeling daring. The coffee culture here is just as strong as in Rome or Florence, and you shouldn't leave Italy without enjoying a coffee or espresso for just a euro or two. Remember—no coffee with milk after 11am. The Italians consider it bad for digestion.

So well, Lily and Thomas went to a typical only fish dishes open restaurant settled on the end of the river end to enjoy the view.

The ordered the famous Venice fish and some soup with Lily ordering a glass of some red wine and Thomas a glass of white wine. They talked about their life n NY and their kids.

Till Thomas finally interrogated. "So, Rufus is your ex-husband and your daughter was married to his son after that but now after a year getting divorce coz she thought she loved him but doesn't?"

She nodded and smiled at the curious tone of his voice.

"Yes, that's pretty much the gist but we are still in love but Rufus wants to 'test me to woo him' " She made air quotations as she said.

"Shouldn't it be other way around?"

"He has done it in the past, and I have to prove him that I have changed and not going to hurt him again as I did by leaving him for Bart."

Thomas nodded and asked for the check as they finished their meal, Lily protested to pay but finally in. They then walked back to the ship.

Mean while, Rufus and Sarah made their ways through a local Italian place and ordered white macaroni pasta for both and a meat lovers and Hawaiian pizza for each, they got quite worked out after so much walking and a coke for Sarah being sober for 5 years and a Spritz for Rufus seeing her and accommodate non alcoholic drink.

"Seriously, pineapple should be banned on pizza I mean it's sweet."

"Rufus, do you know Hawaii is insulted for that and it was invented in Canada!"

"All the more reason to hate it!"

Sarah laughed. God, she was getting all heated and charmed up by Rufus but she didn't want to be with a guy in love with some else so FOR NOW, she brushed it off.

What? She was single and he was a hottie. And they were together. On a Date. BAM!

Rufus cleared his throat, noticing the tension.

They then silently ate their food and Rufus called for the check and had to practically force the guy to take money from him and not Sarah.

They then walked back to the ship.

Which was awkward.

But what they didn't expect was cars in blue and white colour with 'Policia' and CIA written on them.

And boy the scenario was so surprising.

All people had gathered at the reception with police arresting someone.

Rufus ran and pushed all people to see who it was.

There stood, Lily with getting handcuff tied to her hands by a lady officer.

Lily trying to talk to them in Italian to convince them they have the wrong person.

Then the lady announces in English.

"Lily Rhodes, you are being arrested for the cold blooded murder of Barthomellow 'Bart' Bass. You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can be used against you in court."

Rufus rushed to the spot, fighting the officers breaking their defense almost reaching Lily only to be pulled off. Rufus stretched his hand to reach her and Lily stretched her hands back in handcuffs , only to have their fingertips touching for a moment and then ripped off.

Lily turned to Rufus then while they tried to drag her away. "I didn't do it, Rufus, help me and call Charles!"

Rufus screamed. "I know and I will! Don't worry Lily we're gonna save you!"

Rufus stood there, on his absorbing the scenario still in his mind. Thinking.

What the hell is happening and who is doing this to Lily?

But mostly thinking

How will he save her?

This is certainly not how he imagined their supposed 9th anniversary will go.

3k words well.Ik most was because of description of the places and not much Rufly interaction.The case was unsolved of Bart so I'm using it.

Yeah remember that pathetic rushed wedding of Chair no offense But felt they should have gotten a fairy tale wedding like Louis and hers.

All weddings were rushed except Louis and hers and Bart's and Lily's. Even of Rufus and Lily and Eleanor and Cyrus and well Vanya and Dorota.

The producers were too cheap to do a proper wedding to right couples I guess.

But who's doing this you think? And Will Lily be saved or not?
