Maybe I should start from the beginning.

Today, everyone knows me as the evil queen, but my parents called me HeideMarie. Yes, my parents just couldn't find a shorter name. There were those who called me Heide, there were those who called me Marie and there were my parents who always needed to call me by my full name.

Ignoring my name, my life was beautiful. I had a brother three years younger than me, a real sweetheart. Yeah, had, we will get back to it later. I had many female and male friends among aristocracy. I rode my horse once a day, to my parents' dissatisfaction and my brother's joy as for him i t was the only time he was free like a bird. Not only was he constantly guarded, but it was hard to advance forward with his only leg. In every step he had to falter with a walking cane.

But my beautiful life didn't last forever. The neighboring principality's head decided they don't have enough land, so they evaded our peaceful principality. And like every successful occupation, they got rid of the royal family, and thus my parents and brother found their death..

I could only curse fate for being saved. After all, they need to endare themselves over their new neighbors. And what is a better way to do so than marrying the beautiful princess to a king? And which king is better than a mourning king?

I decided to do everything to make the king hate me. I didn't intend to play the part. But the king was king, though he didn't have the slightest interest in me. All he wanted was a mother to his young daughter. Snow White. It was hard to fall for her charm whose skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood and hair as black as ebony. Though I must say her name made me laugh. Not that my was much better…

But of course, you didn't hear about this part, did you? From the first moment I became the wretched witch. But I wasn't a witch nor wretched. I was having fun with Snow White, enjoy her laughter, recalling older days when I try to make my brother laugh and tried at least to do same with the rest.

My life was good and pleasant. But one thing bothered me: I could enter every room in the palace, except for one. It was always locked. Always… except for one day. What could you except from a curious young woman who gets this kind of opportunity?

The room was dusty and full of cobwebs. It was obvious no one entered there for years. Except for dirt, there was only a mirror clear a water. Was that the big secret? A mirror?!

I stood in front of it, playing with my hair.

"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?" I asked jokingly.

"It is you, my queen. You are the most beautiful I've even seen."
