"Where are we going exactly?" Izumi asked as she followed Momo through campus. It was after school hours and U.A. was as lively as ever, some students even still had their hero costumes on, like that one guy from 1-A she fought in the first round, and that one girl that had some gravity quirk.

She'd feel bad about not knowing their names right off the bat, but she did have to basically memorize what might be an entire language to use her quirk.

"Development Studios." Momo spun on her heels, smiling at Izumi just wide enough that it was only slightly suspicious. But, Momo as rarely, if ever, up to anything. Honestly the only time she was up to something was when she was going to surprise Izumi with something.

Which was good!

Izumi liked surprises!

"I went here with my classmates earlier, and I think it's time you start thinking about getting an upgrade for your support gear." Momo gave a light wink and gestured towards the broom that Izumi had following behind her. Technically she was allowed to use her quirk on campus so long as she was training. And technically just controlling her broom was training.

Besides she had flying practice today.

"What's wrong with my broom?"

"It's a broom."

"I thought you said witches ride brooms!"

"They do."

"Then what's wrong with mine."

"You're honestly lucky that it didn't break during the sports festival. I mean, just look at it." Momo pointed towards the ends. "How are there not burn marks from Shoto's fight?"

"Oh, Itsuka broke that one during hero practice."

Momo stopped and let out a breath. "How many brooms do you go through a week?"

"Uhh, that depends."

"On what?"

"What day it is."

Momo slapped her forehead and rubbed the bridge of her nose. This was just like all those times where Izumi said she didn't study. "Okay, we're going to go in here and—"

The door exploded.

And that was how Izumi met Mei.

She had nice boobs!

XXXX

"So you're going for Uwabami too?" Itsuka asked, poking at her food, a pleasant smile on her face as she looked at Momo. "She's pretty much the highest ranking hero I got."

Momo let out a light humm, an annoyed look gracing her face for a few seconds before she sighed and smiled. "Yeah, I'm in a similar boat, but I hope that we'll be able to learn something from her."

Izumi sucked on her bottom lip and tried not to look any of her friends in the eyes. She couldn't help but feel a bit guilty over the whole situation, and more than a little conflicted. She felt guilty because both Momo and Itsuka had gotten only about a hundred or so offers. Like them, Izumi had also gotten the offer from Uwabami.

And several thousand others.

Vlad-sensei had even offered to help her sort through them all.

She had offers from Okinawa to Hokkaido and everywhere in between, there wasn't a single city she couldn't go to. And part of her was tempted to go to Okinawa just so she could spend time in her swimsuit and basically not be judged. She needed a cool summer hero costume though, not basically just her in a bikini riding a broom with a witches hat.

Best part about Midnight-sensei being their sensei is that no one was crazy enough to try and top her hero costume from back in the day.

Well almost everyone.

That invisible girl technically counted as having the skimpiest costume possible, but that was like winning a nudist fashion show.

The biggest problem was that while Izumi would absolutely love to go with two of her friends for the internship, she had so many better options. So so many.

"What about you Izumi?" Itsuka asked, "Vlad-sensei wanted me to make sure you chose your internship today."

"I was actually thinking that—"

"She'll be joining Nejire and working with Ryukyu, the number ten hero." Momo answered for her in a very firm voice that left very little room for opposition. "It just wouldn't be right for her to give up on such a huge opportunity just to spend time with someone she already spends so much time with." Momo continued with a firm smile that betrayed the aggressive look in Momo's eyes. Momo had changed recently, it was subtle, but, hard to ignore, she wasn't exactly bossy, just, more in charge. Confident maybe? "Especially since she has a senpai waiting for her that's been very helpful. Right?"

"Right!" Izumi squeaked. She hated when Momo was right. And Momo was always right! Seriously, what was happening in her head? "Besides, I've always liked Ryukyu, and Nejire seemed really excited about me interning with her, so, sorry."

"For what? Kicking seventeen flavors of ass?" Itsuka asked and took an aggressive bite of meat. "Because like seriously, most of us recognize that you only lost because there was a no flying rule."

"Nah, Inasa is like my weakness, his wind makes it hard for me to draw with my hands, and even with the broom it's pretty rough. I should have put up a barrier first thing like I did against Shoto and then I probably would have stood a chance." Izumi looked at the empty spot where Inasa's towering figure would normally be. "Speaking of which where—"

"Setsuna."

"Ah." Izumi blinked and looked at Setsuna's empty spot. "That was fast. Was that fast? Are they going fast?"

"Hmmm, nah, though for someone as dense as you, I'm sure they must seem pretty fast." Itsuka finished off her meal with a wink and a smirk.

"Hey!" Izumi drummed her utensil against her bowl. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"Oooooh," Momo let out a long happy sigh. "I'm sure you'll find out soon."

"Why can't you guys tell me!"

"Because," Momo wrapped and arm around her shoulder and brought her into an awkward hug before she kissed Izumi on the top of her head. What the heck was up with that. "That would ruin the fun of teasing you."

"Oh my god," Itsuka snorted into a snicker. "Get a damn room you two."

"Huh?" Izumi let out a whine when she realized that both Itsuka and Momo weren't going to tell her whatever the hell it was she was actually missing. "Why do you guys pick on me?"

Itsuka shrugged. "For a lot of reasons, it's easy."

"It's fun." Momo added.

"You kind of deserve it."

"It's the best way to keep your ego in check."

"And," Itsuka and Momo said at the same time and looked at her with evil glints in their eyes. "You're cute when you're confused."

"Okay, yeah, but what if I'm super sexy when I'm not confused?"

Itsuka rolled her eyes. "Well, maybe one day we'll find out."

XXXX

Kabe-don!

Things.

Made sense now.

Her heart had leapt into her throat and started drumming like she was in the middle of a fight, only this excitement, this tingling that seemed to spread throughout her entire body was terrifying. It kept her still, kept her staring into Momo's black eyes as the roaring of the trains drowned out the crowd. Despite being in the middle of tokyo, despite being moments away from boarding and going to their internships, Momo's hand being slammed against the locker had made this moment the most private and intimate thing in the entire world.

Izumi felt her legs began to shake, her head was already spinning. Her heart was racing, her lips fighting a battle to decide what the hell they were supposed to do, smile, pucker, or just make a surprised face, somehow she did all three which must have made her look like an idiot.

"Izumi," Momo said in a soft voice that was like the first steps out onto fresh snow. That lone word was punctuated by the sound of Momo's case hitting the tiled floor beneath them.

Momo didn't even have to say anything else.

It made sense now.

This.

This!

This was what she had been so dense about.

It made sense.

All the looks Momo had given her were different from all the other looks Izumi had gotten, those looks had always perplexed her. That focus Momo had on her, the way when Izumi found her staring and then Momo just smiled, it all made so much sense now.

Momo was in love with her.

"Izumi," Momo repeated and brought a hand up to touch her cheek softly. It reminded her of a few weeks ago when Momo had her pinned to the bed, that graceful moment when Momo had stared at her for what felt like an age had brand new context. And that context hit Izumi's body like a wave as she waited for the confession to come. She knew that it was simply moments away.

Moments.

"I'm going to make this clear so that you can't run away." Momo's finger touched the base of her chin, her thumb running over Izumi's lip for but a moment.

Were they going to kiss now?

Did she want Momo to kiss her?

That would make things clear wouldn't it?

Crystal clear without a single ounce of doubt.

"I'm in love with you."

Oh.

She couldn't hear Momo because her heart was beating so hard all she could hear was the blood rushing through her head. That was a totally valid and reasonable excuse to pretend this conversation never happened right?

"I don't know how long I've been in love with you but I realized it when I saw you come out of the pool one day and all I could think about was how much I've wanted to kiss you."

This explained why Momo always asked if there was anyone Izumi was interested in wasn't it? She was trying to find out if Izumi liked girls too!

Did she?

Was that an option?

Well she knew it was an option! She was friends with Itsuka!

Oh god! How long had Itsuka known! It sounded like forever!

Did Itsuka have a crush on her too?

Was she going to have a three way?

Brain!

Bad!

Boobs!

Good!

Guh!

Was she a closet lesbian and that was why she really liked the way her own boobs looked? Did lesbians turn themselves on? Did momo like boobs? She liked boobs! Did Momo like her own boobs? Momo had good boobs too!

Help!

Had Momo always been so tall?

Sure, Inasa was taller, but for a girl Momo was taaaaaaall.

And that made things so much different.

Momo was like, just the perfect amount of tall.

What did that mean?

Momo pulled back with a smile and turned to look towards the train. "Sorry for dumping this on you so suddenly."

No freaking kidding!

"But, I figured this way you'd have some time to sort out your thoughts." Momo pushed some of her long black hair back and gave Izumi a smirk and a wink that made her feel all kinds of funny. "Mostly because I know your thoughts can be as thick as you are."

Momo grabbed her case again and leaned in, placing her lips against Izumi's cheek for just a moment. "I won't be looking at your texts by the way. The next thing I want to hear from you is your answer when we meet again. Have fun with Ryukyu!"

And just like that Momo ran into the crowd and took her train.

Leaving Izumi alone in the station, part of her wishing she could pretend that conversation never happened, and another part wishing that Momo had kissed her on the lips.

If only so she could find out what that felt like.

AN: Hey 26 chapters for a confession! That's a record for me!
