Soon Biology ends and everyone has a 5 minute break before second period.

Helga peeks her head out the bathroom door and then walks out into the hallway, but seconds later she bumps into Arnold.

Helga knocks Arnold's photo book from his hands, which causes photos to fly out of it.

Helga:

Arnold! Watch where you're going, football head.

Helga kicks the photo book further from Arnold, who was about to grab it.

He looks up at her with an irritated look on his face.

Helga looks down at him with an evil grin.

What's inside there, anyways?

Arnold grabs his photo book and the photos on the floor.

Arnold:

Photos that me and my parents had taken back in San Lorenzo.

I showed them to our class in Biology, but you weren't there.

Helga:

You mean...while I was away, Mrs. Heather stopped talking about—

Arnold:

Yes, Helga. And thankfully she did. I wasn't ready to hear about that stuff.

Helga:

No, kidding. Neither was I.

At least separate the girls from the boys on topics like that. It'll be less awkward, ya know?

Arnold stands up with his photos all collected in his hands.

Arnold:

I wanted to show you these photos in particular.

I know you like poetry and so...there was some nice views I took pictures of for you to get inspiration from.

Arnold leans in close to Helga as she shows her the photos. Helga blushes, but doesn't make it obvious in front of him, but in her mind...

Helga:

(In her mind)

Oh, Arnold...you took pictures of different views in San Lorenzo just for me!

Of all the teasing and bullying and the years that have passed of us being separated...you managed to think of me. ME.

I think I'm gonna die.

(Sighs)

Arnold:

You can write some haikus, possibly or any type of poetry, which reminds me of an anonymous writer that wrote this pink book I have.

I think you'd like it.

Suddenly, Helga comes back into reality.

Helga:

Wait, what?

What pink book?

Where did you get it?

Is it here with you?

Arnold stares blankly at Helga as he was unprepared for the questions.

Arnold:

It's just a pink book filled with amazing poetry about me. I don't know, who wrote it , but I read it over and over again whenever I feel down. I can't remember how I found it, but it mysteriously ended up in my possession and it's currently at my house.

Helga:

(In her mind)

He still reads my poetry.

(To Arnold)

Whoever wrote that is looney and knows that they are or they would've signed their name!

Who in there right mind would write about you?

You're so scrawny, weak, and still short.

And let's not forget...your head is the shape of a football.

Arnold holds in his anger and bitterness.

Arnold:

Thanks, Helga.

These photos are for you.

You should take them.

Arnold hands over the photos to Helga, who snatches them away and shoves them in her side dress pocket.

And after saying all of that about me, then why did you confess your love to me and why didn't you push me away, when we kissed back in San Lorenzo? I didn't forget.

Helga felt like her heart skipped a beat.

Helga:

Boy, that was two years ago BEFORE you decided to leave and go back to San Lorenzo with your parents—ditching all of us.

You're such a sap!

A dweeb.

You're right, I was out of my mind for not pushing you away when we kissed.

I just wanted my locket back—

Arnold:

Your locket...

Do you still have it?

Helga looks away.

How could I forget about you having that.

It saved my parents.

I always wanted to ask you...

Why did you have that in the first place?

Helga:

Why does it matter , anyways?

Look, football head, we're in the middle of the hallway discussing stuff that doesn't matter anymore.

Arnold:

And you have this anger built up inside you because I left you. Is that right?

Helga:

You don't know anything.

Arnold:

You wanted me to stay, so that we could make whatever we had for each other back in San Lorenzo to continue.

Trust me, I want it back.

Helga:

What the fuck, get away from me!

Forget about that stupid kiss.

We were 10 years old.

We were kids.

Arnold:

We're still kids, Helga.

We're 14.

Helga:

Shut up!

It was just something we did because we were emotional about saving your parents and the green eyed people.

Can we not discuss about that anymore?

Please?

Arnold looks devastated.

Arnold:

Fine.

The bell rings and it was time for their second period class.

Helga and Arnold walks separately to their class.

Helga:

(In her mind)

He still remembers that kiss when we were 10.

He probably remembers the other times we have kissed, but in San Lorenzo that's when he finally understood my feelings. He knows I'm hiding my true feelings for him again, but I'm not ready to take it to the next level as much as I want to...

Soon lunch and break arrives and Arnold is outside eating his lunch with Gerald.

He finishes telling Gerald about his conversation with Helga.

Arnold:

It's like she doesn't even care.

Completely dismisses it.

I'm back to being a nobody to her.

Just a stupid football head.

Gerald:

You seem like you want to save whatever feelings you two had for each other two years ago.

I think she still have those strong feelings for you.

No doubt. She held them secretly from all of us for years, so she's definitely acting like she isn't interested now.

Arnold:

Ever since I found out she loved me, I been wanting to know more. Helga is a mystery that even if she confessed, I still feel like there's more I don't know.

Gerald:

Yeah, I get what you saying.

Arnold:

Is there a chance you can get some news from Phoebe if Helga talks about me to her?

Gerald:

If I do, she'll say it's confidential information.

Arnold sighs.

Arnold:

She was just about to reveal to me in Biology on what happened last year.

Gerald:

You really shouldn't know, Arnold.

Arnold:

Okay, then tell me this...did something happened to Helga that I should know about?

Gerald:

That I don't know. I'm sure Phoebe knows , but she won't tell me. I definitely feel something big happened to her. Helga's father doesn't live with them anymore.

Arnold:

Bob? That's odd. Maybe a divorce and Helga isn't taking it well?

Gerald:

Yeah, maybe.

Lila walks to Arnold and Gerald. She sits next to them.

Arnold:

Hey, Lila.

Lila:

Hi, Arnold, Gerald.

It's such an ever so pretty day today, is it not?

Arnold:

Yeah, it is, Lila.

What do you have for lunch?

Lila opens her lunch box and inside of it is one cheese and cracker, one slice of meat, and orange juice.

Arnold sees her lunch.

Lila, please take my sandwich. I don't want you going hungry.

Lila:

I'm sure , Arnold, that I'll be ever so just fine.

Gerald:

Yeah, don't be worried. She always brings little to eat for lunch everyday.

Lila:

It's oh so true. I taken upon an interest in modeling.

When Helga became an it girl, she was a hit in sales and everybody loved her. Rhonda gave me confidence to pursue modeling.

It was ever so nice of her to motivate me, don't you think?

Gerald:

Don't even try to talk her out of it, bro.

You're two years too late.

Arnold:

But... you need to eat something other than that, Lila.

You'll leave me worried all day.

Gerald:

Mm, mm, mm! There he goes.

Lila:

Please, Arnold. I'm ever so fine.

I've been doing this everyday and my agent wants me on a diet.

Thank you for your concern about me.

Lila kisses Arnold on the cheek and stands up with her lunch and walks over to Patty.

Helga is looking at Arnold and Gerald while standing next to Phoebe.

She sees Lila leaving them.

Helga:

Yeah, sister, you better be leaving, hmph.

Phoebe:

She's still eating that preposterous meal.

It's really disappointing.

Helga:

That's not even a meal, Pheebs.

That's leftover that rats find in trash bins.

Something tells me that Rhonda motivated Ms. Perfect on purpose to slowly die because she's jealous of her.

Huh...what a smart plan if so. Why did I not think of that before? It'll make her lifespan so short that she won't even reach possible marriage to Arnold.

Helga grins evilly.

Give me ten bucks if she dies in a week.

Phoebe:

Deal.

Arnold stares at Helga , who notices his stares and glares quickly.

She raises her fist at him with an intimidating look.

Arnold looks away swiftly.

Arnold:

(Sighs)

I can't wait until this day is over.

Gerald:

Already? If you say so.

Soon the first day of school ends unusually early to Arnold.
