"Dead…?" I froze in my chair.

"Yes, my queen. It was said a red shiny apple was fine next to her dead body."

An apple…?

Without saying a word, I rose from my seat and started to run outside to beneath the window i n my room. There was no apple. Sure, there was a chance it got rotten, flew away or the gardener took it. But what if….?

"Your majesty?" The hunter came from behind.

"Don't you have a woman to go back to?!" I turned to him.

He looked at me like a wounded deer. I didn't look at him for more than two second and entered back, going to the mirror's room. Before entering, I took a deep breath.

"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all? Don't answer! My chest went up and down."

"You are so upset to hear about Snowhite's death, don't you?"

"Did you know already?"

"I know all and see all/"

"Then tell me, how did Snowhite die."

"It was the apple which caused this," I saw how my face was getting pale in the mirror "But to be honest, it didn't kill her."

"So the hunter lied to me? Again?!"

"No, she seems dead."

"Can you explain yourself?"

"You poisoned the apple, but it was enchanted."

"By who?"

"By your obedient servant," the mirror said and then sighed "Or so I'd like to say, but it's not the truth."

"What do you mean?"

"I am indeed a magic mirror, but my power is much more limited than what I told you. I made you come here time after time by telling lies with no meaning of helping you one bit."

"So why?"

"In the palace there's a man who doesn't care about your best interest. In fact, he cared for no one but himself."

"Why is this? I raised my voice "Who is this man?!"

"If I tell his name, I would be punished. But I wonder if it is better this way."

"Why would he punish you? And how?"

"Because there is someone in this world who never grows old and one notices for centureds. And about how - he would smash me to pieces and would take all the beatify I can see from this time room. You know how boring it is to be a mirror? To see but never be seen? To think when no one knows? That all your world is what stands in front of you. If I'd disobey his words, he'd move my powers to another mirror."

Well, the idea of talking mirrors wasn't very intuitive. Does every mirror have a hidden small, or maybe it was the vampire's spell. Maybe not one who devours blood, but same principle.

One thing was clear - Apparently, he could be an advisor or servant. But what servant would keep serving for hundreds of years? Advisors come and go, and people don't notice their maturation as much.

"Back to the point," I said eventually, "What am I supposed to do to wake her up?"

"To let a man kiss her."

Come on, really.
