Jaune made his way to the two girls and by God the one wearing white was ripping the girl in black to shreds. Strangely, Jaune found the girl in white to be very familiar and he was sure he had seen her somewhere or maybe someone that had looked like her. Said girl looked like she was closing her rant but still had that glare on her face. Clearly this girl with the hood did something that set off her temper and possibly her ego.

"This isn't your ordinary combat school! It's not just sparring and practice you know, we're here to fight monsters! So just watch where you're going!" The girl in white said furiously and Jaune thought it was extremely pathetic that this girl was making such a fuss. He looked at the many suitcases she had and Jaune had made the connection that the girl had money and probably a very high opinion of herself.

"Hey I said I was sorry princess!" The girl in black said in defense and anger.

It was clear that the girl wearing black had enough of the other girls' crap. Jaune looked at her as he was walking and noticed that she was young and wondered how she got into Beacon at that age. Then a thought struck him, didn't his mom say something about a girl in Vale who tried taking down the infamous Roman Torchwick a couple of weeks ago? His mother said she jumped in to save her and the girl was dressed in black and had a red hood. 'Must be her' Jaune thought to himself.

"Yeah princess she said she was sorry, so I don't see what all your fussing is about." Jaune finally made his way over and the girls looked at him. The one dressed in black looked at him with a very thankful expression, while the one in white gave him a calculating look along with a glare.

"And who are you supposed to be?" The girl in white said angrily, clearly she didn't appreciate this new guy talking to her like that. After all, she was the victim here, or at least in her mind she was.

"Oh me? Oh I'm the guy whose eardrums are ringing thanks to that explosion and mostly because of your damn yelling. I don't know what happened but seeing as though both of you are fine and there is no damage to the area, I think constantly yelling at her is unnecessary and cruel. And if you don't wanna forgive her fine, take your absurd number of suitcases and get lost."

Jaune was not one for drama or petty shit, so he already knew he and this girl were not gonna get along anytime soon. In that case why try downgrade it? He told the little brat exactly what he saw and felt, and clearly what she needed to hear. He then looked at the girl in red who gave him a thankful smile and he nodded back, in a way saying he was glad to help. Jaune sensed anger at that moment and turned his attention back to the girl in a white dress, whose face was red with rage. It was at this moment Jaune wish he had brought earplugs as he prepared for the upcoming onslaught this girl was about to throw at him.

"You little nothing! How DARE you speak to me that way with such insolence and like we are equals?! Do you have any idea who I am?!" The girl shouted furiously and was even more enraged to find this newcomer not being intimidated in the slightest.

Jaune uncovered his ears to respond to the brat and said, "You are the one yelling and screaming at this girl over some BS. I'd say the tone in my voice is very appropriate for someone with your behavior. Also, it's clear I don't know who you are Princess, since I would have addressed you at the start if I did." Jaune was getting annoyed by this girl who clearly came from money and was used to not getting any back talk from anybody.

"It's heiress actually." Came a voice from the side, and all three hunters looked to see a girl dressed in black and white, with a black bow on top. She had long black hair and amber eyes, with a black holster on her back. 'Definitely a mech-shift weapon' Jaune thought as he eyed the girl, who apparently knew more about this stuck up Princess than he did.

"Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee Dust Company. One of the largest producers of energy propellant in the world."

The girl now known as Weiss looked rather pleased with this introduction and remarked, "Finally! Some recognition."

However, the girl dressed in black and white wasn't quite done with her introduction and kept going, "The same company infamous for its controversial labor forces and questionable business partners."

This made Weiss grow angry, "Wha?! How dare- the nerve of!" and took the dust vial from the other girl's hand.

Jaune noticed that the girl with hood was chuckling and he was too a little bit, but a question was going through his mind. He had met a certain woman with the last name Schnee and it wasn't Weiss, it was an older woman who worked for General James Ironwood. What was her name? It was after a season he knew that, was it Autumn? Summer? Winter? Once he thought about it he was pretty sure that the woman's name was Winter, and her attitude greatly resembled Weiss'.

Jaune then called out, "Hey Weiss right? Do you happen to have a relative by the name of Winter? You know works for Ironwood, has a very winning disposition, also lacking a lot in personality?"

God he remembered his meeting with her and immediately knew he was doing the right thing becoming a huntsman and not a soldier. His mom had dragged him to some banquet and Winter was complaining about his etiquette and was kissing Ironwood's ass all night. He couldn't imagine being someone's subordinate, wearing a weird uniform, and constantly having to obey.

Weiss glared at him, "That is my sister you are talking about you dunce! She has more strength and talent in one finger than you do in your entire body! How dare you speak of her like that!" Weiss was getting even more outraged at this newcomer, who didn't even look like someone training to be a huntsman. He looked like some punk kid instead of someone training to fight monsters.

'Ok I have clearly stuck a nerve. Also it makes sense that the two are sisters, not just the looks but the fact that both of them have sticks up their asses.' Jaune thought to himself. He then looked over at the crowd making their way to the auditorium and remembered that he still had orientation to go to like everyone else. He needed to make his way back.

Jaune looked at Weiss, "Look Princess, one thing about me is that I am the type who does what he wants. So if someone comes at me with some attitude and high opinions of themselves like you and your sister did, then I am gonna call it like I see it. Anyway I would love to stay and chat but we got orientation, so see ya."

Jaune gave the peace sign and started walking away, and noticed that someone was following him, and it was not Weiss or that girl dressed in black and white as she had left before Weiss' outrage. It was the girl with the hood who was calling out for him to wait up and he turned an addressed her. "Yo, you need something?" Jaune asked curiously.

The young girl responded, "I just wanted to thank you for helping me with that Weiss girl back there. I really feel bad about what I did and I just wanted her to stop yelling at me, and thanks to you she did so thanks! Oh! My name is Ruby Rose Branwen by the way!" She said offering her hand out.

Jaune rolled his eyes and smirked, "Jaune Goodwitch is the name and don't worry about it, someone needed to take her down a peg or two. What did you even do anyway? The princess was coming down on you pretty hard." Jaune shook Ruby's hand and she put her two fingers together in an adorable way and confessed to what she did.

"I may have sneezed causing her dust vial to explode…But it wasn't my fault! She was shaking it in my face because I tripped over her suitcases causing the vials to come out. What did she think was gonna happen by shaking it in my face like that?!" Ruby yelled in innocence.

Jaune immediately burst out laughing, "Are you serious? That is what she was mad about?! Of course you were gonna sneeze and blow it up, that's what happens when you shake dust around irresponsibly like that. Interesting how the heiress of the dust company doesn't even know how to use it properly, and wait you were the one who exploded? Oh man I am definitely calling you Crater-Face from now on." Jaune said in his typical teasing manner, which Ruby soon became highly offended.

"HEY! THAT EXPLOSION WAS AN ACCIDENT!" Ruby yelled, clearly not liked being teased by this older guy. She had to admit though he was kind of handsome and looked to be the type to not take any crap from anybody. He also seemed to be pretty laid back and not have a care in the world, her cousin Yang would be into him. That is if she hadn't abandoned Ruby to be with her friends, in which Ruby was still annoyed.

"Don't care, still calling you Crater-Face." Jaune said with a shit-eating grin that was 100% on purpose. Ruby growled and then huffed, causing Jaune to laugh even more. The two kept walking towards the auditorium in awkward silence until Ruby pulled something off her back. It was like a red rectangle, probably her weapon.

"So…I got this thing." Ruby said as the rectangle transformed into a huge scythe that Jaune was incredibly impressed that she carry being so small and all. There was also so much detail that went into the scythe, this girl really put her heart and soul into it.

"Damn nice Scythe, I am impressed you can carry that. It even matches your outfit, so clearly you have a lot of style. Anything else it can do?" Clearly this stuff excited her, so Jaune might as well keep the topic on her weapon.

Ruby had a big smile on her face as she answered, "I call it Crescent Rose! And it sure can, it is also a high action sniper rifle! The dust bullets can slice through a deathstalker's armor as if it was butter!" Ruby shifted the scythe into rifle mode so she could show Jaune. This was her baby so of course she was gonna show it to everyone she met.

"Huh, so it's a gun too? Nice, gives you a lot of options for combat." Jaune really didn't see why this girl was so excited about weapons, but after the torment she got from that Weiss girl, he thought it best not to hurt her feelings.

Ruby put Crescent Rose away and then turned her attention back to Jaune, more specifically the giant katana he was carrying. "So what about you? What can you sword do?" She asked excitedly.

Jaune rolled his eyes and smirked, while putting his sword in his other hand to show Ruby easier. "I call this sword Kikoku, and unlike your Crescent Rose this is not a mech-shift weapon. Mostly, because I do not need it to be, but it does have dust elements. See these different colored diamonds on the hilt? They hold four different kinds of dust so whenever I need them, I just have to push the buttons that are the diamonds. I don't need it to be a gun or anything like that, let's just say this sword is very good for fighting at a distance as well as up close."

Ruby looked in amazement, but was confused about what Jaune said. "What do you mean you don't need a gun? Nearly everyone has one because you can hit grimm from afar? Even though you have dust, how can your sword possibly make up for that?"

Jaune smirked at Ruby, "You will have to find that out for yourself, but for now here we are." The two reached the Auditorium which was full of other new students. The two walked through the crowd and someone was calling to Ruby. It was blonde girl with long hair, puffy jacket, short shorts, and what looked to be like gauntlets on her arms. 'She's cute', Jaune thought as Ruby pulled him with her as she walked to the blonde.

"Yang I can't believe you just ditched me like that! Do you have any idea of what I went through! I freaking exploded!" Ruby whined as her cousin just chuckled.

"Sorry munchkin, but it isn't my fault that I have a social life and you don't. Besides you are so overexaggerating, you couldn't have gotten into that much trouble in the time that I left you. You said exploded, meltdown already?" Yang was clearly teasing her cousin and loved poking fun at her. She was amused that Ruby was making a big deal out of things.

Ruby wasn't in a laughing mood however, "No Yang, I actually exploded a hole in front of the school! And there was some fire and I think some ice?" Ruby wondered as she looked back on it.

Yang clearly didn't believe her, "Are you being Sarcastic?" She said in a teasing tone.

Jaune decided to speak up, "Nah she's being serious. I was walking over here to the auditorium, heard a big boom, and saw Crater-Face here being chewed out by an Ice Princess."

Ruby was making an annoyed face at Jaune's nickname for her, while Yang eyed this new guy. He was tall, was wearing some coat that had some weird logos on it, and was carrying some sword in his hand. One hand had rings on it that spelled "Death". He also had two gold earrings in each ear, and his face was quite handsome in her opinion.

"And you are?" Yang asked curiously but very interested. Ruby remembered that she had brought Jaune over and forget to introduce him.

"Oh sorry! Yang this is my first friend that I made at Beacon! This is Jaune, Jaune this is my cousin Yang." Ruby introduced the two to one another as the two shook hands.

"Yang Xiao Long, nice to meet you." Yang said with a small blush on her face.

"Jaune Goodwitch, nice to meet you too." Jaune had a hard time looking at her in the eyes and not at her chest. It was at this moment the headmaster of Beacon Academy, Professor Ozpin, stepped onto the stage and started speaking. Jaune prepared himself for this, his mother had warned him about how Ozpin could go on and on, and how his speeches would be very confusing.

Ozpin stepped to the microphone and began his speech, "I'll keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look among you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step." With that, Ozpin stepped off the stage without another word or glance.

Jaune was thinking about Ozpin's speech and there was some validity to it. He did come to Beacon to learn new skills and to gain more strength, but how far will that knowledge really take him in life? He learned a lot back at Kingsglaive but he knew he was nowhere close to having the full knowledge of a huntsman. He had to apply himself here, but he also couldn't change who he was in the process. He then saw his mother come on the stage.

Glynda addressed the new students, "You will gather in the ballroom tonight; tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed."

Jaune chuckled, 'As strict as always huh mom?'.

"Professor Ozpin seemed kind of off don't ya think?" Yang said to her cousin and Jaune, her eyes were narrowed in thought.

Ruby nodded, "Yeah…it was almost like he wasn't even there." The attitude of the headmaster kind of creeped Ruby out. It was nothing like the man she had met in that interrogation room.

"Eh, he's probably used that speech a thousand times before with his students of previous years, I wouldn't show that much excitement either." Jaune said as he looked to his mother who was smiling at him. He started to make his way over, telling Ruby and Yang that he would see them later, though part of him was hoping he would get some peace and quiet tonight. Jaune made it over to his mother and hugged her, which she gladly returned.

"Hello honey, how do you like Beacon so far? Has the day gone alright for you?" Glynda asked curiously, happy to see her son but knew how laid back and anti-social he could be. God help him with crowds of people who liked to talk a lot.

"Hey Mom I like it here a lot, Beacon is incredible. Met a few people today, had a very explosive experience you could say." Jaune chuckled as he scratched his hid in memory of what happened just a little while ago.

Glynda looked very confused, "Explosive experience, what are you talking about Jaune?" They were soon interrupted as both heard arguing coming from the other side of the room. One was trying to apologize and the other was tearing into her, holding some pamphlet in her hand.

Glynda looked at her son with a very curious look on her face, as her son sheepishly explained what happened. "Yeah so apparently Ruby, the girl you helped with that Torchwick guy? She fell on Weiss Schnee's many suitcases, causing the dust to come out of them. Weiss got angry, started shaking the dust in Ruby's face as she yelled, Ruby sneezed and then boom went the dynamite." Jaune finished as Weiss had stormed away.

Glynda rubbed her temples in frustration and anxiety, she was glad that her son didn't act like that when something went wrong. In fact, Jaune rarely got mad at anything so he didn't cause her much stress. She then got an alert on her scroll, Professor Ozpin needed her for something.

"Alright sweetheart, I have to go help Professor Ozpin with something. Grab your sleeping bag and get some rest you will need it tomorrow, and no watching your cartoon shows on your phone all night. You got that?" Glynda said threateningly, but also did it in a joking manner.

Jaune rolled his eyes at his mother, "I will make no promises and it is called Anime you need to put some respect on it. Anyway, good night mom I love you and will see you tomorrow." Jaune hugged his mother and started making his way back and ran into Ruby and Yang. Both of them had questionable looks on their faces.

"Do you know that Professor Jaune? It seemed like the two of you were really close." Yang asked curiously, she wondered what a new student was doing hugging a professor.

"I would hope we seem close. She is my mom after all." Jaune said as he kept walking and put his headphones on, scrolling through songs his scroll. He didn't see the shocked expressions of Ruby and Yang, but he didn't need to since he knew they were coming.

Jaune went and grabbed his sleeping bag and headed to the ballroom. After he had changed into his pajamas that were just black t-shirt and grey sweatpants, he found a spot to go to sleep on. He texted a few of the only friends that he made at Kingsglaive, telling them what happened today. They all laughed at the explosion story, and Jaune then a loud "HELLO!" that from the sound of it came from Yang.

He looked over and saw Ruby and Yang trying to talk to that black and white dressed girl from earlier, except now she was in a yukata. The girl was reading a book and looked extremely annoyed that Ruby and Yang were distracting her from it. Jaune had to feel for the girl, he hated when he was playing a game or watching a video and someone trying to talk to him prevented him from doing it. Then of course Weiss had to come up to them and yell about how people are trying to sleep. This of course sparked another argument between the group of girls.

Jaune rolled his eyes and put his headphones back in. He tried to find a good playlist for him to fall asleep while ignoring the girls arguing. When he did he laid on his pillow and went to sleep.

'Something tells me I'm gonna be dealing with those girls a lot while I am here at Beacon, oh well it is what it is. Well, tomorrow is the day so I gotta be ready to rock.'

AUTHOR NOTES:

Alright so first of all thanks to everyone who sent me feedback and has given support this story, I can't believe you guys like it so much. So a few things to share:

This version of Jaune is pretty much going to be Law from One Piece with my spins on it. I always thought that Jaune was kind of a lame character and I wanted to put my ideas on him on paper.

Ruby and Yang are cousins in this one not sisters. I really like the Qrow is Ruby's dad theory so I am going to implement it in this story. However, Raven is still at the Tribe and Summer is still MIA so that part hasn't changed.

The next chapter will be more action heavy, as I am kind of going the canon why by using the chapters of the actual show for the chapters in my story. So the next one will show Ozpin launching them into the forest and we will see Jaune's semblance explained fully.

Until next time, take care!
