So in the past five minutes, Yang's cousin had fallen from the sky, a crazy girl had ridden on an Ursa to the temple, and the guy she had a crush on was being trailed by a death stalker. Needless to say, her temper was not kept in check.
"I can't take it anymore! Can everyone just chill out for two seconds before something crazy happens again?!" Yang said with anger as her hair seemingly caught on fire, which honestly intimidated Jaune. Thank God he wasn't standing next to her.
Jaune took his surroundings into consideration and figured out what they were up against. There was no way they could just deal with one of the grimm, the other would definitely be a problem. They would have to split into two groups, one for the nevermore and the other for the death stalker. Ruby should lead a team for the nevermore, considering she rode it on the way here…
"Don't worry everyone, I got this!" Ruby said as she was about to rush to battle the two grimm.
"Hey Crater-Face hold up!" Jaune shouted as the girl came to a halt. He knew that Ruby was skilled but there was no way that she could handle two grimm of that level at the same time. Everyone looked at him, guessing that he had some sort of plan.
"Look the only way not to die is to take out those two grimm. Only problem is, we all can't just focus on one of them because then the other one will attack us head on. So Crater-Face, I want you, Yang, the princess and Miss Silence over there to take out that damn bird. No one cares how you do it, just get it done. Me, Pyrrha, Miss Energetic and the Ninja will take out the giant scorpion. Everyone clear?" He really didn't want any back talk.
Of course he got it from a certain Ice Princess, and noticed that some of the girls didn't like the nicknames he gave them. Well, he could care less.
"Why exactly are we taking orders from you?" Weiss asked irritated.
"You got any other ideas princess? Those grimm don't look like the patient type to me." Jaune stated motioning to the two monsters that were getting closer by the second. Weiss thought for a few moments and then looked away embarrassingly.
"That's what I thought, let's just get this shit done, get the relics and then get the hell out of here. You three, let's give that Deathstalker hell." Jaune said to Pyrrha, Ren, and Nora as they rushed to the death stalker while the other's got the nevermore's attention.
When they got to the Deathstalker it aimed a claw at Pyrrha but she was able to deflect with her shield and stab it with her blade. It tries to aim the other claw at Pyrrha but Jaune is there to deflect it with his sword, knocking the giant scorpion back. Pyrrha used this opportunity to leap over and attack its face. Ren then runs up firing and gets on the stinger when it tries to hit him, shooting at the base between him and the tail. Nora kept firing grenades at the Deathstalker's claws and Pyrrha hurled her Javelin right into one of the monster's eyes. Unfortunately, that made the monster toss Ren to the side giving him a pretty bad hit into a stone wall.
Jaune noticed though that the Deathstalker's stinger is hanging limply and calls out to his partner.
"Pyrrha! Cut the stinger with your shield!" Pyrrha complied and threw her shield cutting off the stinger, causing it to fall onto the Deathstalker's head. The shield then returned to Pyrrha's hand.
"EVERYONE BACK AWAY! BE READY TO ATTACK!" Jaune shouted and the three jolted but soon did what the blonde said. Certainly, he had a plan right?
Jaune extended his hand and created a miniature room in it, then he extended the room to encapsulate the Deathstalker. Once the green barrier was around the monster, Jaune lifted his index finger and soon rock structures had impaled the underbelly of the giant scorpion. The others watched in amazement, Jaune's semblance was incredible.
"DON'T JUST STAND THERE! BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF IT!" Jaune yelled to the three as he couldn't keep the room up forever and he already had less aura. Brought out of their shock the other three hunters in training did what the blonde asked and rushed the Deathstalker. Pyrrha and Ren had fired at the beast with their range weapons, while Nora jumped from a tree and swung her hammer down on the stinger that had impaled the monster before. With all of their combined efforts, they had brought the Deathstalker to the ground but it wasn't done yet.
The creature was still trying to crawl to make a move, but Jaune had enough of the damn scorpion. He walked up to it and sliced one of the claws off as the Deathstalker tiredly tried to hit him. Then he thrust Kikoku into the grimm's skull and hit the yellow button on his hilt, causing the lightning to surge through the Deathstalker and ultimately making it evaporate.
"Sigh…next time take the damn hint." Jaune said to the remains of the Deathstalker, he was exhausted and he could tell his partner and the other two were as well. Pyrrha looked at him and smiled, he smiled back giving her a thumbs up. The girl now known as Nora ran up to him with a big smile on her face. 'Oh God…' Jaune thought as he knew what was coming next.
"That was so cool! How did you make those green bubble things?! Can you make one around pancakes and then multiply them, creating more pancakes?!" The girl said energetically as she was bouncing up and down. Jaune looked at Ren with a questioning face and he mouthed 'sorry' to Jaune.
"I'll explain later, right now we gotta get one of those relics and make sure that Crater-Face and her group don't need help with that giant bird." The three nodded and then heard multiple sounds of gunfire. They turned around to see the other group peppering the Nevermore with every ounce of ammo that they have. That caused it to crash into a cliff but unfortunately the thing recovers pretty quickly.
The nevermore started to fly back up, but Weiss got to the ruin it was lifting off of and froze its' tail leaving it stuck despite flapping its' wings. Weiss jumped back to her group, and then Blake fired the pistol portion of her weapon over to Yang, and the two tighten it between the columns. Ruby then Jumped onto the center with Crescent Rose and bend it back into Weiss' black sigil. Weiss then turned the sigil to red and released Ruby at an intense speed that caused the ground behind her to launch cracks.
Ruby used the gun portion of Crescent Rose to get closer and closer to the trapped grimm until she uses her scythe too catch the Nevermore's neck. This caused both of them to fall to the cliff wall, but Weiss used her circles to allow Ruby to dash up the wall with her scythe in the bird's neck. Ruby shot all the way to the top and once she got there she sliced the Nevermore's head off. She landed and her cloak was flowing in the wind with rose petals behind her.
"Damn, shows why she is here so early. Anyway, Pyrrha let's grab a relic and then get the hell out of here." Jaune said in amazement at what Ruby did but also in anticipation of getting this test done with. Pyrrha snapped out of her trance and nodded to Jaune, and the two went over and grabbed one of the relics. Ren and Nora grabbed one as well, Jaune wanted to head back but saw that the others wanted to wait for the other group. Once everyone had a relic they made their way to the meeting point where they saw Professor Ozpin and Glynda, as well as some other students.
"Congratulations on passing initiation! The incoming airship will take you all back to the Auditorium where we will announce the teams. Please everyone climb aboard!" Ozpin said warmly as the airship came into the landing zone and opened its doors. Jaune let the others go in first as he didn't want to be with the crowd but then made his way inside. Before he got on he hugged his mother who hugged back, "Congratulations honey." Glynda said with pride and Jaune responded, "Thanks mom" and got on the ship.
On the ship Jaune found a nice corner to himself while his partner came up to him. She was then followed by the others who participated in taking down those two vicious grimm. Pyrrha gave Jaune a smile and was grateful that he was her partner, the two worked very well together. A certain white-haired girl came up to him though with a questioning look, replacing the angry one that she wore all the time.
"May I help you?" Jaune asked really wanting her to go away until the landed. Of course, that wasn't happening though.
"What is your relationship to Professor Goodwitch? We all saw you embrace her and she embraced you back. Was she your tutor our something? Did you find her one day and beg her to teach you huntsman skills?" Weiss asked with a glare, unaware the students around her wanted to know the same thing. Their first impressions of Glynda Goodwitch were that she was strict, anti-social and she did not care for anything other than what was happening at Beacon. So what kind of relationship did this guy have with her for her to show that kind of emotion?
"She's my mother." Jaune said non-chalantly while crossing his arms and leaning his head on the top of Kikoku, taking a short nap. Everyone around him though, besides his partner and the pair of cousins was shocked at this information. Professor Goodwitch had a son? And this was him? The guy who looked like didn't care about anything and was dressed like some punk kid? Weiss was the most shocked out of everyone in the group. There were just more and more surprises coming about this guy.
Weiss was still upset about what this Jaune fellow had said to her earlier and was even more upset that he was Pyrrha Nikos' partner. It should have been her, they would have been the most unstoppable duo in beacon! Oh well at least she could still end up on the same team as her. Back to Jaune though, Weiss didn't think much of him prior to initiation, he was tall and had a big mouth. She didn't think he had any fighting skills, but that soon changed once he saw him in the forest. And now that she found out he was Professor Goodwitch's son, she had to assume that he was stronger than what he displayed at initiation.
Soon the bullhead landed and Jaune opened his eyes, this was it. He got off the while and made his way through the talking groups and found Pyrrha. "Let's go" he said to Pyrrha as she nodded with a smile and the two made their way to the auditorium. When they got there, they saw a giant stage set up, they must be announcing the teams on there. They sat down in one of the many seats and waited for everyone else. The others had arrived shortly after, with Weiss sitting next to Pyrrha and Yang sitting next to Jaune. Pyrrha was uncomfortable with both of those arrangements.
"So Pyrrha I hope we can be on the same team!" Weiss said cheerily but one could tell there was a bit of desperation in her voice.
"Likewise." Pyrrha responded but she didn't really mean it. Due to her upbringing and her nature, she was always polite to everyone even though her true feelings may be the opposite. She didn't like how Weiss treated Jaune and other people that she thought below her. The girl clearly had an ego problem and seeing as though she and Jaune never got along it would be a disaster for Weiss to be on their team.
Professor Ozpin came up to the center of the stage and started giving one of his speeches. Jaune had tuned him out and was going through things on his scroll. He would know when to pay attention when Ozpin had started calling the names out. Plus, his speech was just a review of what had happened today, so there really was no need to pay attention.
Once Ozpin was done, he started calling the names of the teams. The first was a group called CRDL which meant "Cardinal" led by a guy with the last name of Winchester. Jaune thought the name was familiar, and he took a look at the team and thought they were the kind of guys to be full of themselves like Jocks. He zoned out again until he heard his name called.
"Jaune Goodwitch, Pyrrha Nikos, Nora Valkyrie, and Lie Ren please come to the stage." Ozpin said as Jaune and the other three got up from their seats and made their way to the stage. Jaune had his hand in his pocket and the other carrying Kikoku and wondered which of the other three would be the leader of the team. Probably Pyrrha, she was the one with the most skill.
"The four of you retrieved the white rook pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team JNPR. Led by…Jaune Goodwitch!" The audience had a round of applause while Jaune blinked. Him leader? All he did was tell the others to get out of the way and then beat the crap out of that Deathstalker. It wasn't anything special. Then he noticed that Nora hugged Ren and Pyrrha brought him into a hug and smiled. Jaune hugged her back and smiled as well, 'no worrying about it now, just gonna have to get used to it' he thought. They exited the stage and Jaune saw his mother giving him a proud smile to which he nodded back.
Ozpin called Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang up to the stage and Jaune noticed that Weiss was not particularly happy about that. The girl had a frown on her face as she looked at her new teammates. 'Probably wanted to be on a team with Pyrrha. Oh well life is a bitch.' Jaune thought as he continued to look.
"The four of you retrieved the white knight pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team RWBY. Lead by…Ruby Rose Branwen!" Weiss was shocked at this information but no more than Ruby herself. She couldn't believe that she was leader, and now she was being hugged by her cousin who was telling her how proud she was. Blake didn't have a reaction at all.
The only one who wasn't surprised was Jaune, he knew that Ruby was going to be leader of her team. She might have been young, but she showed her skills and to be a natural tactician coming up with that plan to beat the Nevermore. He was worried about Weiss being on the team though, seeing as though she had so many problems with the young girl.
Once the ceremony was over, the groups were given there room assignments and were told to go there and then to the mess hall for a meal. First though, they had to put their weapons in their respective lockers, which they were also assigned after the ceremony. Jaune, Ren, Pyrrha and Nora were at their room which was conveniently across from Team RWBY's. Jaune put the keycard in and opened the door, to which Nora rushed in and jumped onto the bed in front of her.
The dorm was like a freakin' hotel, it had a bathroom, desks, and even bookshelves. Their luggage had been delivered and was sitting in the middle of the room. Jaune looked around and saw the bed on the far left was near the outlet. Yep, that was his.
"Yo, I'll take this bed right here." Jaune said as he grabbed his bag and put it on the bed. It was perfect for him so he could charge his scroll and watch anime until he fell asleep. Pyrrha took the bed across from him and Ren took the other one. The four rested for a few minutes and then it was time to go get food. Thank God because they were all starving especially after initiation.
Of course, everything can't be easy can it? When Team JNPR got to the mess hall they found themselves in a really long line that while was moving, it only made them hungrier. Jaune pulled out his scroll and started watching Bleach, Pyrrha would let him know when to move up. It had been a good 10 minutes before they had gotten close to the front and Jaune had put his scroll away. Then some guy came up to them, particularly to Pyrrha and Nora.
"Sup ladies. Mind if I stand here with you? This long line is lame." The guy was about as tall as Jaune but he had a big shit eating grin on his face. Everything about him just yelled bully.
"Actually, we do mind." Said Ren, narrowing his eyes, clearly not liking this guy.
"My name is Cardin Winchester, and I don't think you understand." The boy now known as Cardin said, clearly not backing down.
"Oh we do, and we don't want someone jumping in line while all of us are waiting for our dinner. The back of the line is that way." Pyrrha replied pointing to the back.
Cardin got mad and was about to look threatening, until he saw Jaune not giving a care about anything and that made him even more angry.
"You probably think you're so cool because you are the Deputy Headmistress' son but it doesn't matter. You and your team are no match for mine and once classes start I will prove it. So how bout just letting me skip ahead?" Cardin said all high and mighty but got mad when Jaune just chuckled.
"Enjoy your sense of superiority Douchebag, you're not gonna have it for long." Jaune said as he pointed his finger to the back of the line, motioning for Cardin to get lost. Cardin growled and then went to look for someone else to bully.
Jaune knew how to handle people like that, they were all around Kingsglaive. People who thought they were better than everyone else and had some false sense of authority. Not to mention that they love to hear themselves talk. Jaune then noticed his team looking at him with proud smiles.
"That was awesome Jaune! You really told him off but next time I think we should break his legs!" Nora cheered and Jaune just laughed.
"Tell you what, he annoys us enough times you can break his legs and his arms." Jaune said ruffling Nora's hair as she smiled widely and her eyes started sparkling. Ren and Pyrrha laughed, glad that Jaune was at least taking some initiative at being social. Though Pyrrha had to admit that she found it sexy when Jaune told Cardin off. She was becoming more attracted to him by the second. The group got their lunch and then went to the table where Team RWBY was sitting.
"Hey guys!" Ruby said enthusiastically with her mouth full getting a wince from Weiss. Yang was stuffing her face and Blake was eating while reading her book. Those four were going to get into some crazy adventures, Jaune could just tell.
"Yo Crater-Face, don't talk with your mouth full." Jaune said with a chuckle, like he was her parent.
"Yes Dad" Ruby said while sticking her tongue out at Jaune who just rolled his eyes. The group ate their meal and Nora told a story that had Ren correcting her at nearly every sentence. Some gave background on where they were from and how home life was back there. Some like Pyrrha didn't really want to share that information at this time though.
Jaune was finishing his food when he got an alert on his scroll. He opened it up and it said that the uniforms for class were delivered. He let his teammates know and they nodded. To be honest, Jaune wasn't looking forward to wearing a uniform again. His current clothes were so much more comfortable and he never understood why they had to wear them in the first place. Just make a badge to put on their shirts and be done with the whole damn thing. A voice then called out to him.
"Hey Jaune, why do you wear those rings on your hand that spell out death?" Yang asked very curious about that.
Jaune just shrugged, "It's the hand I use to create my room with my semblance. When grimm are in the room they die." Yang nodded in understanding, she thought it was so cool that he had a reason like that.
"Jaune I have a question for you, where do you attend before coming to Beacon?" Pyrrha asked politely with a smile to which Jaune returned.
"I went to Kingsglaive Academy, just outside of Vale so I'm not that far from home. Though I gotta say, none of the students there were as strong as you." Jaune winked at Pyrrha who blushed and then giggled, and Jaune went back to his scroll. Yang glared at Pyrrha who just smiled victoriously.
The two groups finished their meal and went back to their dorms to see boxes outside the door. Jaune picked his groups up and went inside, assuming they were the uniforms. He opened the box to see that he was right but was instantly disgusted.
"What the hell is this Hogwarts? Why do I gotta wear a coat and tie to write things down on a piece of paper? This shit looks so itchy…" Jaune said appalled and his team was laughing hysterically. Of course the laid-back Jaune would have a problem with something as basic as uniforms.
"Jaune it's school policy, everyone has to wear these. Maybe not every day when we get further in the semester but for right now it is mandatory. Don't worry though, they probably won't be as uncomfortable as you may think." Pyrrha said as her laughter had died down. Jaune admired her optimism but he knew how uncomfortable tomorrow was going to be. Speaking of which he looked on his scroll and found the schedule that was posted for his team. Apparently they had Grimm Studies with Professor Port at 9 am sharp, History with Doctor Oobleck right after that, combat class with his Mom and then one more with Professor Peach.
'Combat class with Mom, God I am not looking forward to that.' Jaune thought, he knew she was going to call on him to do stuff that he didn't want to do. Why did the name Port sound so familiar to Jaune though? He thought about it and grimaced. 'Oh God, is he the guy with the big mustache who tells all these ridiculous stories for hours?' Jaune met him at an event and immediately wanted the guy to leave him alone, Port also didn't respect boundaries. Jaune then turned to his team.
"Hey you three, we might want to call it a night and get some sleep for tomorrow. We have class at 9 am sharp with Professor Port and believe me when I tell you that you are going to need all of your energy." Jaune said with a sigh, not looking forward to tomorrow already. His teammates nodded in acknowledgement.
"You got it fearless leader!" Nora said with a salute that made Jaune laugh.
"Wouldn't say I'm fearless Nora, but thanks anyway." Jaune said as he ruffled her hair again. He nodded to Ren and Pyrrha. Nora decided she would take the shower first and pranced her way into the bathroom. Jaune turned to Ren with an amazed expression on his face.
"How the hell do you put up with that all the time?" Jaune asked curiously.
"Eh, you just get used to it." Ren said shrugging his shoulders, Jaune nodded and walked over to Pyrrha who was sitting down on her bed.
"You did good today, really glad you are my partner Pyrrha." Jaune said with a smile, he meant every word. Being partnered with Pyrrha was the best case scenario and they make a really good team. Pyrrha blushed and felt the same way about Jaune.
"You did great too Jaune, I have to admit when we first met I didn't think you the most social of people but you brought us all together to beat those grimm. I am grateful to have such an impactful and handsome leader." She said winking at him and he winked back, patting her leg before going back to his bed. Ren looked at the two, 'They are gonna be a couple before this semester is over, I just know it.'
About an hour later everyone had showered and were in bed, though they weren't asleep just yet but they were getting there. Jaune wanted to watch a quick episode of Bleach but saw that his mom texted him.
"Sorry if I interrupted your video watching, but I just wanted to tell you how proud I am of you. It may be a challenge, but I know that you will be a great leader to those three." He smirked, his mother knew him so well.
"Thanks Mom, I don't see myself as much of a leader but I will have to try to learn."
"I am glad to hear that honey, see you for your first combat class tomorrow!"
"Please don't call on me…" Jaune replied hoping she would have a heart.
"You know I'm going to 😊" 'Dammit, well so much for that' Jaune thought as he shook his head in disappointment.
"You need to get some rest, good night Jaune I love you."
"Good night mom, love you too." With that Jaune watched his Bleach episode and then proceed to fall asleep. He could only imagine what would happen tomorrow, seeing as though he had a very electric group of hunters in training.
"Well tomorrow is the first day at Beacon, let's see how different school life here is from at Kingsglaive." Jaune said in his mind as he drifted off to sleep.

Back at it again, like I said before we are going to be following the volumes very closely. I may add some stuff of my own but I don't know yet.
