Arnold:

Please don't say that, Helga.

She had so much trauma built up inside her.

We aren't really sure why she started cutting herself or why she took her life, but from what you have told me

about what happened last year and how Patty never wanted it mentioned because she felt like it was her fault...that whole event was probably making her feel sick.

With days going by, she didn't show none of us her true feelings.

She was going to wrestling competitions as if everything was okay, but I should've really followed her for a week after she just left the hospital for cutting.

We don't know her whole story, so please don't blame yourself for her death.

Helga:

And judging by how she hung herself in the bathroom...

She must've did that to herself yesterday after our fight.

I can't believe no one noticed until today.

She ran out the cafeteria after hitting you.

I saw it in her eyes that she felt really bad for doing that to ya, but I didn't care to let her off easy at the time because...I was really worried for you.

Arnold:

I wish I could just tell Patty that I knew it was a mistake—that she didn't mean to hit me!

I didn't want you two fighting or anybody, but it just happened.

Helga:

I was fighting Rhonda and Patty just came in out of nowhere. She wanted to be the big hero. Pfft.

But I guess that doesn't matter.

She was still a student.

Young, had big dreams, and a good future ahead.

Phoebe awakens out of her sleep and heard bits of the conversation.

Phoebe:

And she's with Harold now.

They are in a happy place together.

Let's see it at that.

Arnold:

Sorry, Phoebe.

We didn't mean to wake you.

Phoebe:

Don't worry. I can fall back to sleep easily.

Helga:

Pheobe, me and Arnold are planning on going to the movies this evening.

We'll be sneaking out, so try to stay up for us if you hear Arnold's parents.

Phoebe:

(Sighs)

Another zombie movie?

How is that roman-

Helga's eyes widens as Phoebe was about to say "romantic".

She saves herself.

RoMaN. I-I said Roman—how is that Roman actor uh man that we saw in uh some other movie...we saw together, Helga?? Ya know. That Roman actor.

Helga plays along as Arnold is very confused at their exchange of words.

Helga:

Yeah. I can't think of his name , but I heard news that he's doing pretty good! He's getting in a ton more movies.

(To Arnold)

We're just talking about this Roman actor that we see a lot in movies, heh heh!

Anyways—

Helga rushes towards the way up the roof.

Let's go, Arnoldo.

My popcorn is waiting on me!

Arnold:

Alright, Helga, but don't forget I said I have to do something very important before we go to the movies.

(To Pheobe)

Are you going to be okay here by yourself? I'm sure the zombie movie won't be that scary for you to come along.

Helga:

We already discussed it together that she doesn't want to goooo!

Come on, football head!

We don't have all night.

Phoebe:

Yeah. I don't want to go, Arnold.

I'm not taking chances plus I must stay behind to keep watch of your parents.

I'll be fine.

Arnold:

Okay, Phoebe. If you say so.

Helga:

(In her mind)

Oh, Arnold! You're so caring and sweet.

Helga and Arnold exit the boarding house from the roof.

They arrive on the side walk.

Arnold reaches for Helga's hand, which she hurries and moves away.

What do you think you're doing, football head?

Quit trying to hold my hand.

Arnold:

But it's dangerous out here, Helga!

I'm nervous with you walking behind me.

Helga:

Well, then I'll walk in front!

Helga walks in front of Arnold.

Just tell me where we're going. Ugh, I hope they have tickets left for us.

If they don't, it's your fault!

And if there is just one ticket left...tough luck because it'll be mine and you're gonna be walking home by yourself. Hmph.

Arnold:

We're going to visit Harold's, Stinky's, Sid's, and Curly's grave. I know where they are buried.

And look..

Arnold pulls out some little flowers that he picked from his pocket.

I got some flowers to put on their graves. They aren't the best because I picked them near our school, but I'll get even prettier ones from my garden one day.

Helga:

Really?! Even Curly's ? He was the shooter that killed them.

Arnold:

He was still a kid and our old classmate. He just wasn't in his right mind.

A-And their graves are in the same graveyard, so we're just taking one trip.

Helga sighs and snatches one of the flowers from out of Arnold's hands.

They walk to the graveyard with Arnold pointing and telling Helga, who was in front of him on where to go.

They arrive safely to the graveyard.

They share a few words to the graves of Harold, Stinky, Sid, and Curly, then they place their flowers near each grave.

Helga holds in her tears, but Arnold actually cries a bit before wiping away his tears.

Helga and Arnold walk to the movie theater.

They arrive quickly with Helga pushing everyone out the way to be first in line.

Helga:

Two tickets, please, for the one and only, zombie movie.

(To Arnold)

Hair boy! Hurry and go inside to get my snacks!

Popcorn with butter. I want them yellow as the sun. Give me a chocolate bar without nuts, and give me any kind of soda pop except strawberry flavored, got it?

Arnold:

O-Okay..

Arnold runs inside the theater to the snack line as Helga receives the two tickets.

Helga goes inside the movie theater and searches for the right room , where they are showing the zombie movie.

From hearing the loud scream on screen, she found it.

She quickly runs inside and gets two seats for her and Arnold.

She sits down and watches the movie as Arnold walks slowly to Helga with his hands full of snacks.

He carefully gives them to Helga.

Helga:

About time. Now move it, football head.

You're blocking my view.

Arnold:

You're welcome, Helga.

Arnold sits next to Helga, who immediately takes a sip of her drink and unwraps her chocolate bar.

A couple of minutes pass as Helga ate all her snacks.

Arnold is focused on the movie , but every now and then he would turn to look at Helga, who laughs and points at the gory deaths.

Other times, Arnold found Helga very emotional.

She stares hard with her blue eyes to the big screen when the main character is in trouble or when there is a scene of couples showing love to one another.

No matter what scene the screen shows, Arnold loves seeing Helga enjoying herself.

He slightly smiles at Helga as tears fall down her face.

Arnold:

You're really into this movie.

Helga:

Shh!

Helga doesn't look at Arnold while she places her finger on his lips to keep him quiet.

Actor in movie:

I'll never leave you here, Sarah.

Actress in movie:

But there's too many of them! Only one of us can escape and I want you to live.

I love you, Tim.

Actor in movie:

I love you, too, Sarah!

But I wanna stay here with you.

Let's die here together.

The actor and actress in the movie start kissing each other as zombies devour them.

Helga takes her finger from off Arnold's lips as he too looks at the screen, but this time Helga takes her eyes off the screen to look at Arnold.

She smiles at him with her cheeks glowing red, but unexpectedly Arnold turns his head to look back at Helga.

Their eyes meet.

They quickly look away from each other.

Arnold:

This is a...good movie.

Right, Helga?

Helga:

Yeah...too bad it's ending.

I just wanna stay here forever.

Arnold:

How come?

Helga:

Because...

I like that we're all here together to enjoy a beautiful movie.

A-And you're here with me.

Arnold blushes.

(In her mind)

Did I just really say that?

Oh, no...now he's going to think I'm weird.

Suddenly, Helga comes back from reality when Arnold places his hand on top of her's.

With a smile still on his face, he looks back at the screen.

Helga blushes.

She continues to speak to herself in her mind.

I feel like my heart is about to jump out my chest.

What is he doing??

Holding my hand??

What does this mean? Does this mean he likes me? No, no, LOVES me?

I mean, we kissed before and it was very beautiful. I'll never forget it, but... that was two years ago.

Arnold squeezes Helga's hand very gently to have a better grip.

This causes Helga to lose all focus from the screen.

She is too busy blushing and handling her nerves.

She looks to the side to hide her face from Arnold.

They continue to hold hands until the movie ends.

When it finally ends, Helga abruptly takes her hand away from Arnold's.

She stands up and looks at him.

Well , aren't you going to move? The movie is over, football head.

Arnold:

I just want to stay here forever because you're with me.

Helga;

(In her mind)

Did he seriously just say that??

Arnold:

Besides...there is another movie about to start.

Helga:

Another movie?!

We don't have time for that.

We gotta get back to your house.

Arnold:

Did Phoebe text you back yet?

Helga:

N-No, but—

Arnold:

Then sit down and enjoy another movie with me, Helga.

Helga slowly sits down next to Arnold .

The movie begins and it's a romantic movie.

Helga acts as if she's grossed out by it.

Helga:

Ew , yuck. A romantic movie?? Why can't they play another zombie movie?

Arnold:

Romantic movies aren't too bad.

They are nice.

Helga:

All they do is remind me that I'm still single and lonely and pretty girls like that bimbo on the screen gets whatever they want!

Arnold looks at Helga.

Arnold:

I didn't think you were into dating.

Helga:

Well, of course I am!

We have gotten older , have we?

I...I been looking for someone to date.

Arnold:

Really...

That's great, Helga.

Helga:

Yeah...

Suddenly, a man with a gun comes into the theater room and starts shooting at people.

Arnold and Helga gets on the floor and hide near the movie seats.

Arnold covers Helga as they slowly move towards the side of the room to go down the stairs to exit.

The shooter moves towards the middle of the aisle and begins shooting more people.

Phoebe texts Helga, but she doesn't answer because it's in her pocket and the gun shots are too loud.

Helga and Arnold make it to the side of the room and begin running. They run all the way to the exit doors of the theater.

Arnold and Helga run towards a church.

They stop there to catch their breaths.

Arnold:

Helga, I'm so sorry...

Arnold wraps his arms around Helga and closes his eyes tightly.

Tears come down his face.

Helga is trying to process everything that just happened.

A blank look with her staring into space .

She is traumatized once again.

I don't want to lose you.

Not you, too.

With his eyes still tightly closed and arms around Helga, Arnold sneaks in a kiss on Helga's lips.

Helga closes her eyes slowly and embraces it, but a few seconds pass and they open their eyes.

They both back away from each other.
