A/`n thank you to ever single person who read my first chapter. I hope you enjoyed it thank you for the review! and will continue on with this story. I have six or seven chapters outlined.

Callie had woken up late, her cellphone had somehow slipped off the table and under her bed and she did not hear her alarm going. She now had twenty two minutes to wake River up and get her dressed and out the door.

"River baby it's time to get up" Callie gently rubbed the dark haired child.

River only mumbled a faint no and scootched away. Callie chuckled, she was not a morning person either so River came by it honestly.

"Don't you want to see and Tony again?" Callie thought to herself she would like to see again.

"No, I stay home with mommy!" River rolled over burying her face into Callie's stomach.

"I'd love that to baby but mommies got work" Rivers just shook her head no.

"Don't you want a new room all to yourself to paint and decorate?" That seemed to interest the small child.

"Kinda, ok mommy i'll get up"

They went out the kitchen to fix River a bowl of cereal and found Mark and his girlfriend Lexie sitting on the couch watching some Dvr'd show from last night, that was typically what they did every morning. Mark never opened the shop until nine am. Lexi was a med student and was ahead and didn't have a class till noon.

"Sloan" callie greeted her old friend.

"Torres, little Torres" Mark threw a smile their way. Callie was probably one of his oldest friends and looked at Rivers as a little niece.

"Hi uncle markie" Rivers was the only one who was allowed to call Mark anything cutesy.

"Hey guys!" The younger black haired woman greeted them, Callie was apprehensive about Lexie because she was a bit younger, but liked her even if she was somewhat perky. She brought out something in Mark, callie had never seen before. But it was good.

"Hey lex!"

"Mommy i was fruity pebbles."

that was the same thing she's asked for every day for for the last two weeks. But Callie obliged and got her a bowl. While she ate, Callie picked out a white unicorn shirt with a pink pair of leggings and some pink sneakers. Rivers was very bubbly unlike her mom. Loved pink rainbows and unicorns. While callie was more red and silver. Once her teeth were brushed and her clothes were changed they headed to drop River off at school and callie head to work. She was quite upset she was going to be at least fifteen minutes late to work if drop off went fast.

…..

All the kids had come in except the one small Latino who was known and who's mother Arizona had hopped to see. So she started class. First she took attendance and just as she was putting her class sheet away the tiny girl came strolling through the door bursting with energy, Callie rushing behind her.

"I'm so sorry were late i slept through my alarm."

"That's ok calliope" she only whispered the calliope part.

"Bye mom love you" with a quick hug River ran off to her desk Callie was somewhat glad her mood and perked up and a little sad she was so willing to let her mom leave today. She thought it would take a few days.

"Some kids adapt well, it's a good thing." Arizona could read the expression on callies face.

'Yah, I gotta go. Thank you."

"Have a great day" Arizona squeezed callies hand and smiled a huge smile at callie sensing she was already having a not so great morning. Both the girls could feel the sparks. Arizona thought it might start a fire.

The day had gone by fairly quickly and it was almost time to head out. But then a red haired woman walked in. And not a natural redhead. This was definitely a box job. Callie cussed silently. She didn't want to be late picking River up, not after being late dropping her off and taking up even more of the blondes time. The thought of the blonde made her smile. But Callie shook it off because she was her daughter's teacher and it would be inappropriate.

"Over here ma'am" the fiery woman snapped her finger as to get callies attention.

"Yes how can i help you"

"How much is this?" she pointed at an old vase.

"Oh that's $25 ma'am."

"Why is it so much?" The woman demanded.

"Well it's an antique, one of a kind hand blown glass vase '' Callie was inwardly frustrated but outwardly calm with the woman.

"I'll give you $10."

"I'm sorry ma'am but i can't take less than $25."

"I'd like to see your boss, you're being very difficult."

"I'll go find mrs. Montgomery for you" callie was thankful for the opportunity to walk away from the disgruntled customer. She found her boss, Addison in her office going over the books.

"Hey there's a customer who would like to see you"

"Ok cal I'm coming, and it's Addison."

Addison and Callie walked back to where the customer was standing and Addison stretched her hand out.

"Hello I'm Addison and i own the shop. How can I assist you today?"

"Well first your employee is very rude, and is way over charging me for this vase." It came out in one snappy breath.

"How much did she charge?"

"$25"

"That's the price, Callie does not make the prices I do. That is one of a kind antique vase, honestly it's worth more. You can take it or leave but you will not come into my shop and be rude to my employees."

"Ill shop somewhere else" she turned and walked out of the store.

Addison turned to Callie and told her she could head out so she wasn't late she would finish up at the store. Callie thanked Addison and headed a few blocks to her daughter's school.

….

"Mommy!" River squealed when she saw her mother round the corner of her preschool door. It had jumped Arizona but she recovered quickly. A grin spread across her face when she saw the olive skinned woman who she hadn't been able to stop thinking about. She knew it was going to be a long five months before she could ask the brunett out. But first she had to learn if she even liked women.

"Ah calliope, ontime i see" arizona chuckled and callie laughed.

"Almost not i had a terrible customer come in and it almost made me late but my boss Addison covered me."'

"Addison Montgomery? Over at orphan Annie's? Well i bet you handled it with a beautiful poise as you"

"Ahh yah. I mean yes that's my boss" the fact that callie was flustered was very obvious. She had not suspected anything of the such to come out of Arizona's mouth.

"I pop in from time to time. Usually after I see the dentist."

"You see mark?"

"Yes you know him?"

"Old friends" with that River came tugging on callies leg.

"Mommy look that i made!" Rivers exclaimed.

"Wow that's beautiful mi hija, well. Can you say thank you to and then we can split?"

"Thanks . See you tomorrow right?"

"Absolutely sweetie" arizona smiled and waved

Callie and River walked home and she told her mom all about her day and how much she loved her teacher. She told her mom she liked her desk mate but not in the way mommy liked daddy then asked when she would see daddy again and that took callie by surprise.
