It's been two weeks in the beach house, Arnold and Helga have been avoiding affection from one another since day one.
At least Helga has.
They eventually show more affection to one another and grow even closer.
There are times Arnold helps Helga cook.
There are times where Helga hides all of Arnold's things and watches him look for them all in misery.
One of them being that Arnold's wallet is hidden in her breasts.
Helga reads stories to little Phoebe.
Most embarrassing stories about Arnold.
Helga sometimes practiced wrestling moves on Arnold, who didn't know what he was getting himself into.
Arnold made flower crowns for little Phoebe and especially for Helga, who bravely took off her head wrap and showed her bald head to wear it.
In the kitchen, Arnold, Helga, and little Phoebe would have food fights.
On the beach, Arnold and Helga would teach little Phoebe how to make sand castles.
Then there were the nights, where Arnold and Helga would simply kiss each other until the other fell asleep.
One morning, Helga overslept and Arnold thought she died.
He wakes her up with tears in his eyes.
Helga comforts him with kisses under blankets and sheets.
She wipes his tears away, but he still kept crying at the thought of Helga dying.
Being the gentleman that he is, Arnold gave kisses back to Helga.
Things lead to another that they eventually make love.
It is almost a month and Helga is looking beautiful even without her hair, but she is really weak and often tired.
Arnold, Helga, and little Phoebe spend more time together at the beach.
While little Phoebe is in the water being closely watched by Arnold and Helga, Arnold and Helga sit on a towel in the sand.
She lays her head on Arnold's lap with a smile on her face as he softly rubs her head.
Helga closes her eyes and enjoys the rubbing.
Helga:
Arnold?
Arnold:
Yes, my angel?
Helga:
I knew we would be together ever since I laid eyes on you, football head.
I knew I wanted to marry you.
You always have this aroma that makes me sleepy.
Helga yawns a bit.
I always feel safe near you.
You always give me peace.
Arnold:
When you're not angry.
Helga:
Don't ruin the mood.
Arnold laughs.
Arnold sings the chorus of "You are my sunshine" to Helga.
Arnold:

You'll never know, dear

Please don't take my sunshine away."
I love you, Helga.
Helga smiles with her eyes still closed.
Helga:
I'll always love you more than you could ever imagine, football head...
Arnold:
Wanna bet?
(Laughs)
We love each other equally.
Now let's get up and join Phoebe in the water.
Arnold gently taps Helga's head for her to raise her head, but there is no movement.
Helga, get up. Stop playing. Your head is hurting my legs.
Arnold taps Helga's face again, but there is no movement .
Arnold quickly realizes that Helga is not playing.
His smile slowly disappears and panic sets in.
He shakes Helga's body.
Helga! Helga!
You didn't leave me, right?
You're just messing around?
Helga's body wasn't moving at all.
It is completely motionless, but her smile still stayed on her face.
Arnold starts to cry.
HELGA! NO, please... please wake up.
Arnold tries to smile through his tears .
You're messing with me. You're still here with me.
Helga, oh, Helga...
No...you're getting back at me. That's what this is.
You chose to die to get back at me for leaving you all those years!
Is that how cruel you are??
Arnold realizes that he is speaking nonsense.
You wouldn't do that to me.
You didn't ask for cancer, but it decided to take you away from me, anyways...
God has finally punished me for leaving you.
He seen my life being too easy and happy that I deserved this pain...
Arnold rests his head on Helga's body as little Phoebe run to Arnold.
Little Phoebe:
Daddy, what's wrong?
Arnold doesn't answer little Phoebe and instead lets out a big cry .
Little Phoebe pulls on Arnold's shirt.
Daddy.
Arnold:
Your mother is gone, Phoebe.
My wife... I can't believe she's gone.
Little Phoebe pulls on Helga's arm .
Little Phoebe:
Mommy! Mommy, daddy is crying because you won't wake up. Wake up, Mommy.
