Chapter Three: Setting up Shop
After a toilsome week, the newly dubbed "Dr. Facilier and Jones Voodoo Emporium" was finally open for business. During the past week, the dolls worked on making the shop presentable while Lily and Facilier worked on their skills. Facilier mastered the use of the tarot cards while Lily unfogged the mystery of the crystal ball. Both of them ravaged the bookshelf learning everything about their main gig.
"Facilier," Lily said in a spooky voice. "I see a dark future, you shall lose all your pocket lint!" Facilier stopped shuffling his cards to stare unimpressed at Lily.
"Wow, Lils, what a tragedy." He pulls out some cards. "The cards are saying… pale death will shine a green light at you, with a stick." He finished lamely.
"Wow really?" She questions.
"Pssh heck if I know, but that's what the cards say."
Lily giggled a bit then looked into her ball more seriously. Her eyes misted over and she spoke. "A green and black figure will be important in your life." Facilier quirked an eyebrow.
"A green and black figure? Care to be more specific."
"Ugh, I'm trying." Lily groaned and rubbed her eyebrows. "I think it's a person with black eyes and green hair. Or maybe it's the other way around?" Facilier shrugged, not thinking his future was that important, leaning back in his chair as he looked around the empty shop.
"Ya know we're not getting any customers."
"We just need to be patient, that's all," Lily said. They both paused, one of Lily's voodoo dolls, a green one with straw hair called spaghetti, slumped about in dismal circles.
"Fine, this is rather boring, how do you suppose we get customers?" Lily asked. Facilier jumped up and grabbed a skeleton necklace.
"Costumes. And maybe a voodoo cart of some sort." Lily clapped her hands in delight.
"That sounds amazing, mother's sewing lessons will finally come in handy." she began rushing about, picking up pieces of cloth and jewelry. "Of course the voodoo cart sounds wonderful as well, but if my mother sees me doing black magic she might disown me so you'll have to do that on your own." Joyfully she skips out and gives him a wave. "The costumes will be done soon, you work on the cart!" Facilier shouts after her.
"Wait! What should I sell with the cart?"
