That night the trio of Lelouch, Rai, and Flint moved from the safe house that they were using in the ghettos to hide out from the remaining solders that were sticking around after the battle of Shinjuku. The three of them decided that it would be better to let the heat die down from what had happened rather than try to explain why Britannians were in the Ghettos if they were caught. It would also allow for the other members of the Brotherhood to head to the meeting location of Ashford academy. Silent as shadows the three of them were able to sneak into the school and more specifically the student counsel clubhouse where a figure was waiting for them. One Sayoko Shinozaki was wearing her unusual maid outfit rather than the robes of the brother hood that was traditional for the meeting that would be taking place at this time.
"Lelouch-Sama, Rai-Sama, Flint-Sama, I'm glad that you have returned the others are all here. What ever you have to talk about must truly be important for you to call a meeting at this time." Sayoko said.
"I wouldn't have called everyone here if it wasn't important" Lelouch replied long having given up on Sayoko not using honor fics when addressing him even during assassin meeting and events he then asked the more important question "How is Nunally doing?"
"She is doing well. She was worried about you but with the aid of some medication I was able to put her to sleep for the night. there were no fevers today." Sayoko replied as the four of them headed to the room where the assassins would meet.
"That's good to hear." Rai replied. The young assassin had taken a liking to the young girl, seeing her like a sister. It was at that moment they arrived at the room where the meeting was taking place. Inside there was Conner and three other assassins waiting for them. Connor was wearing his traditional robes. His hood was down showing his hair which was a mohawk that lead to a pony tail. He was leaning against the wall of the student counsel room and gave a small nod of acknowledgement.
The first of the other Assassins was an elderly Japanese man. Hiroshi Serizawa was the oldest of the assassins around, the last of the old guard who was a member of the brotherhood before the Britannian invasion whittled the assassins of Japan's numbers to nearly nothing. He was bald with greying hair on the back of his head. His face had a grey beard and mustache and was covered in wrinkles and scars. He had a pair of half moon glasses on was wearing a a long grey lab coat with the hood down which also doubled has his assassins robes. The elderly man gave a warm smile as the younger members of the brother hood entered. He was one of the few scientists that studied weapons and technology that didn't use Sakuradite as power source and still did for the assassins.
The second man was a much younger Japanese man one Tetsuya Kiryu. He was clean shaven and his pitch-black hair was slicked down and he was wearing his red assassins robes over his shoulders, his arms were not in the sleaves of his robes showing of the tattoos that showed his previous alignment to the Yakuza, before they were whipped out by the Black King and his criminal group. He was known has the fireball both due to his knowledge of explosives and his explosive temper. The man was twirling around a butterfly knife doing tricks in an attempt to alleviate the boredom he was feeling as he was a man of action.
The final member of the group was Lelouch's number two, Eric Needham. He was dark skinned, his short curly black hair trimmed close to his head and his goatee was well shaped and trimmed. He was tall and muscular and his assassins uniform was black looked more like a military mud outfit due to the large number of pockets for munitions and hidden weapons that the traditional robes that were worn by most members of the order. He had a grim expression on. The moment that everyone was in the room they all sat down around the table in the center of the room wanting to know why Lelouch had called them all here.
The moment that everyone was ready Lelouch began "Thank you all for coming here. Earlier today I had to kill the third prince. Clovis is dead."
To that the assassins each gave a look of surprise. Conor cleared his throat getting everyone's attention before asking Lelouch "Why did you kill your brother Lelouch. The creed states you will never stain your blades with the blood of the innocents?" he himself once went down a similar path and didn't want his student to lose himself to revenge.
"Clovis ordered the death of every one in the Shinjuku Ghetto to cover up the fact that he was doing human experiment. He was not innocent" Rai all but shouted.
"I saw men women and children being cut down like animals. It wasn't pretty." Flint commented most of his usual swager gone showing how serious he was with what had happened.
"Why would Clovis do such a thing? You always said he was a good man" Hiroshi asked. While Eric slammed his fist on the table in anger at what he was hearing. He was glad that Clovis was dead as if the prince was still alive, he wouldn't be for much longer. He had allowed for one man to commit a similar atrocities in his past and swore to never let something similar happen again.
"So the bastard got what was coming to him" Tetsuya said as he put his feet on the table. Sayoko gave a small groan at the action has she had to clean up the foot prints on the table. However she was to polite to try and get him to stop.
"There is more, however. I know why my brother was committing theses atrocities. He found someone connected to the first ones and she was unknowingly stollen from him by Naoto's group. In order to keep quiet about her Clovis wanted the Ghetto cleansed in order to keep quiet about his attempts to extract her secrets " Lelouch commented. To that each assassin gave a moment of silence both for the loss of people of Shinjuku and their fallen brother Naoto.
Lelouch continued "She had green hair and golden eyes and had some way to give people abilities. He was trying to recreate this abilities and what ever else she could do. Some how she gave me the ability to control people just by looking them directly in the eyes"
"That doesn't sound like a sage to me" Hiroshi commented to himself under his breath as Tetsuya started to look on with his jaw dropping.
"Do you know how else this woman affected you Lelouch-Sama" Sayoko asked with worry in her voice.
"So for all we know Charles Zi Britannia now knows about the first ones" Eric growled out
"No. when Lelouch used his freaky eye powers on Clovis he asked who knew. Clovis didn't want daddy to know what he was doing to steel the throne" Flint commented
Conor stood up and after debating with himself stood up and got the rest of the assassins attention when he said "Clovis found a Code Bearer"
"A what" Tetsuya asked looking lost.
"Will you please explain what you mean Conor-Sama" Sayoko asked.
"What I'm about to tell you is one of the biggest secrets of the order, nothing I say leaves this room. Even amongst our leadership what I'm about to tell you is considered a need-to-know basis. When the first ones made our ancestors, they also made another world, the world of C. It was a repository of all the knowledge of the people and their memories, for some unknown purpose. The code bearers were a result of this. So long as they held the code to the world of C they could not die and could give people Geass, a gift and a burden. The Geass allowed for people to have a way to control their fate, but if used to much it would grow and consume the wielder. And for many code bearers this is what they want as they can end their immortality by passing on the code to their Geass welder. The Assassins have always had a code bearer in their ranks. I am the fifth. I was born many years ago before Washington's rebellion to the name Ratonhnhaké:ton" Conor said before turning towards the door and adding "isn't that right C.C."
To that the other assassins turned towards the door and saw the Immortal looking at them. Lelouch couldn't believe his eyes. He had seen this women take a bullet to the brain but here she was standing as if nothing had happened. The rest of the assassins were more surprised that she was able to sneak up on them the masters of the silent kill.
"I see you bear the same curse that I do" C.C. said
"Unlike you I took the burden willingly" Conner countered before he had a small smile "It is good to see you again. After all theses years"
"Perhaps it is" C.C. replied.
Connor turned back to his fellow assassins "I know you all have questions for me and C.C. but they will have to be answered latter. Head back to your homes we will meet in our hideout latter this week to plan out our next move" though not wanting to all the assassins did what their leader told them to silently disappearing into the night or for the three that lived in the club house back to their rooms knowing that Connor would find out if they tried to spy on the two immortals.
Later on Conner and C.C. were sitting on the roof of the club house in silence before C.C. spoke "It's been so long since we last saw each other. and what should I call you is it Connor or R.R."
"I still go by Connor it reminds me of my humanity. It was just before the battle of York that we both had to leave General Washington, Connor said sadly "Sometimes I wonder, if we were there would things have been different."
"I don't like to thing about the past" C.C. replied with a small shake of her head. "And why did you want to talk to me in private about."
"I know what you want old friend and I think I might be able to help you. I still have my contract with you." Connor answered.
"But how. You cannot take my curse from me. And I know you wont let me put the burden on Lelouch" C.C. replied
"The brotherhood have had a great many years to study the code and the other creations of the first ones if they had the power to create the code their creations could take away the code." Conor replied to this C.C. felt hope for the first time in many years.
The very next day the room that once held the brotherhood of assassins was being used by a very different counsel the student council of Ashford academy, In the Student Council room, Lelouch who despite his best efforts had been unable to sleep from the night before and had dozed off during the student meeting. He was suddenly struck by a rolled paper which forced him to open his eyes.
"Wake up Lelouch!" Milly said as she continued strike him with with the paper, "I know that you're sleeping because your hand stopped moving!"
"Okay, okay, you don't have to keep hitting me," Lelouch complained groggily as he used his hands to protect his face.
"Hah, serves you right for ditching me yesterday," Rivalz with a grin.
"That's right, what was up with you anyway?" Shirley asked glaring at Lelouch. Lelouch looked at Rivalz and then Shirley and shook his head.
"Oh, I'm sorry," Lelouch said being sarcastic, "I'm so sorry that I 'ditched' you Rivalz. When I was pulled in the truck and was accidently dragged into a conflict between the Britannian military and a resistance faction even though I did tell you to go on without me just in case I didn't make it back."
"Wait, what?" Shirley said surprised.
"Yes, I was accidently dragged in the truck that was owned by Japanese resistance members," Lelouch continued.
"You mean Elevens," Nina said in at attempt to correct her friend.
"Japanese," Lelouch countered completely ignoring Nina's reaction, "Anyway I ended up in Shinjuku and then the next thing I knew, guns were pointed at me."
Milly, Rivalz, Nina, and Shirley were shocked by what they were hearing from the vice president.
"Terrorists tried to kill you?" Shirley asked mortified.
"No, it wasn't the terrorists that pointed their guns at me, it was Britannian soldiers." Lelouch said darkly
"That can't be!" Nina said not taking what she heard well at all having complete trust and faith in the British system, "Y-You must be mistaking Lelouch, there's no way that—"
"I'm sorry Nina but that was what had happened yesterday" Lelouch interrupted with a glair
Nina flinched at Lelouch's glare, "I just…" Nina stopped herself and looked away.
Lelouch shook his head, "Their was one solder that tried to help me out. He was a good man who knew that I was just a kid that got dragged into the mess. he was shot and injured by his own allies for speaking up against them."
"That's terrible," Shirley said.
Lelouch nodded not wanting to tell them that afterwards that his friend was using a protype war machine to destroy the resistance fighters who believed that they were doing good, "It is, I was able to get away from them somehow but then I saw something horrifying."
"And that was…?" Rivalz asked.
Lelouch looked down with a frown and he was looked disgusted, "A massacre, I saw Britannian soldiers shooting and killing the people in Shinjuku like they were animals…men, women, even children, they showed no mercy, no remorse and they did it for no reason and most of them did it with glee. I had the terrible misfortune of seeing innocent people who were just trying to live their lives and without bothering anyone get slaughtered for absolutely no reason."
"That's impossible!" Nina spoke again, "They must have had weapons or cooperating with the terrorists."
"Nina," Lelouch said in a calm tone hiding the anger that he felt at her blatant racism at the people that were being subjugated, "do you really think that a six-year-old old would be an actual threat? An old woman who could barely walk or how about a mother carrying her newborn baby, do you honestly believe that it was justify for them to be killed?"
Nina was about to say something about how they deserved to get slaughtered but she stopped herself when she saw that Lelouch was glairing at her as if to dare her to say something else, however the timid girl backed down not wanting to invoke the rath of Lelouch.
"Nina, I get that you have issues but don't say things you know nothing about," Lelouch said in a harsh tone.
Nina flinched and was shaking being very upset and went back to look at her computer screen.
"S-Say Lelouch, you don't have to be so harsh buddy," Rivalz said trying to calm his friend down.
"Whatever, anyway I was able to get away from the disaster only because someone helped me get away, so yeah, that was what was up with me yesterday." Said Lelouch,
"So was that why you called me yesterday and asked me to see what was going on in the news?" Shirley asked. Unbeknownst to Shirly after the battle Lelouch had given her a call to see what was going on.
"Yes, I curious of what they were showing," Lelouch then sighed, "in honestly, I'm not surprised with what you told me."
"I s-see," Shirley said and then felt ashamed, "I'm sorry Lulu, I didn't realize and yet I was being hard on you for no reason."
Lelouch shook his head and gave a gentle smile, "Forget it, there's no way you could have known."
"I'm sorry as well Lelouch," Rivalz said, "I didn't realize what happened and I should have known that you wouldn't actually ditch me…I guess I just got upset…we're cool, right?"
Lelouch just looked at Rivalz and blinked, "…Sure…"
Even though Rivalz heard what Lelouch said, he was still not sure if his friend meant what he said. Rivalz was so upset of being left behind but it didn't occur to him that Lelouch was pulled away not by his own choice. Milly was looking around and didn't like the atmosphere and decided to bring everyone back.
"All right, all right everyone," Milly said as she slammed the roll of paper on the table, "the conversation just to a huge dark turn, let's bring ourselves out and back to the matters of the agenda here."
"Yeah, you're right," Lelouch said glad for the distraction.
"Yeah sure," Rivalz said.
"Yes," Nina said with a nod.
"Anyway, if we don't come up with the fix club activities, there won't be any money left for anything at all," Milly explained.
"And if it comes to that point," Nina said.
"The Equestrian Club will be pissed," Rivalz said with a laid-back tone, "we don't want them coming in here in horseback again,"
"Rivalz, can't you be a more serious Student Council member?" Milly complained not liking Rivalz's laid back attitude.
"You know it would have been nice of you if you would have reminded us about this mess a day ago," Shirley pointed out.
"I would have to say a day later, then we would have given up," Rivalz said.
"Hmm, good idea Rivalz," Lelouch said snapping his fingers, "you know we can still do that."
"GUTS!" Milly shouted. This surprised the other Student Council members when Milly suddenly shouted and they cringed a bit.
"You trying that 'Guts' spell again?" Rivalz asked.
"Yep," Milly said with a smile, "I want you people start putting your all into this."
"I really don't think your magic is really going to do a whole lot," Lelouch said.
Shirley on the other hand felt motivated and smiled.
"Actually, it's got me going Madam President," Shirley said.
"Supple and willing," Milly commented, "that's what I like."
"I train really hard in the Swim Club," Shirley said proudly.
"That's not what I was getting at."
"Huh?" Shirley said surprised.
Milly looked at Shirley with a pleased expression, "You're a ten."
"What?" Shirley was confused and then looked at where Milly was looking and it was her own chest.
"From what I've seen in the girl's bathroom anyway," Milly continued, "you've been filling out in all of the right places."
"Hohoo," Rivalz spoke looking at Shirley's chest area as well.
Shirley was appalled and covered her chest, "Wha-What the hell are you talking about you perv!"
Soon enough the members of the student counsel were able to balance the budget so that each of the clubs of Ashford would have the money that they needed to keep their activities going.
"Geez, our president is just a dirty old man on the inside," Shirley complained, "sullying the meeting with her filthy mind."
"Yeah, that's true," Lelouch commented with a chuckle, "it is amazing that she could say those kinds of things so easily."
"Yeah well, that's Milly for you," Nina said.
Rivalz chuckled as well, "Look on the bright side; we were able to balance the budget, didn't we?"
As the members of the student counsel entered the classroom, they all noticed that some of their classmates were watching something regarding Shinjuku.
"They used poison gas?" A male student said.
"Man, that's freaky," A second male student said, "Shinjuku is only 30 minutes from here."
"Oh my god, I saw smoke rising over Shinjuku," A female student said, "It must have been the gas."
Lelouch frowned and shook his head.
"Are they saying anything else about it?" Another male student asked.
Rai also walked in the classroom and saw what was going on.
"Shinjuku?" Rai asked.
"Rai, good to see you again" Rivalz greeted with a smile. Nina, Shirley, and Lelouch all saw Rai who was walking up to them and greeted him.
"Where were you Rai?" Nina asked, "You missed the meeting."
"Its not very professional for a member of the student counsel to miss a meeting expecialy one as important as balancing the budget," Shirley said.
"I had an emergency to take care of," Rai said, "I informed the president about that but I'm guessing she forgot to tell you about it."
"You informed the Prez?" Rivalz said.
"She may have forgotten," Lelouch said with a shrug.
"You knew Lelouch?" Nina asked.
"Rai also told me that he had something that he had to take care of " Lelouch said as he looked at Rai with a knowing smile. The brotherhood was going to move soon.
