Shinjuku Ghetto previous day

The people of Shinjuku were horrified with what was going on all around them. Ever since their home was invaded, they were forced to live in this ghetto, scraping by with what little their Britannian overloads would allow them to have. Many of them had lost loved ones in the invasion and didn't wish to lose anything else. So they kept their heads down and lived their lives hoping that they would not invoke the rath of Clovis and his solders. This pitiful life had broken them, now that the scars and memories of war had been brought back up to them, they took their rath out on those that they could, Ohgi, Kallen, Takami and the rest of the freedom fighters despite the fact that they were trying to escort them to safety.

"It's your fault." An angry man shouted, "This is what happened when you oppose the Britannians."
Tamaki couldn't believe what he was hearing, couldn't they see that they were trying to free them from the monsters that were forcing them to live like this. Angerly, he shouted back "What!? Why you gutless coward?"
A Woman yelled back "How many people were killed because of this!?"
"Shut up!" Tamaki shouted at the woman.
"Do you know how many of us were killed or captured? Do ya?" an elderly gentleman added.
"Quit crying." Tamaki yelled back at the old man. This was quite rude.

"Ohgi, who was that voice we heard?" Kellan asked wanting to know who their mysterious ally was.
"Damned if I know." Ohgi answered. "He doesn't answer when I call so maybe something ha–"

"There, you see!" Tamaki interrupted "Instead of following somebody we don't even know, we should've use the poison gas."
"But he–" Ohgi started not wanting to betray their ally.
Tamaki yelled "Damn Nagata to hell!"

At this moment a group of solders and Knightmare frames had found them. The Britannia solders raised their weapons as them moved to surround the freedom fighters and civilians

"So this is where you Eleven vermin scurried off to." The lead officer of the group stated, "Prepared to fire!"

"Naoto!" Kallen yelled out thinking of her brother in what she thought was her last moments

The leader of the Soldier started with a dark smile "Commence–"

At that moment Clovis's voice came out of the solders radio's "Attention all forces. Cease fire at once. I Clovis, third prince of Britannia and royal viceroy of Area Eleven, here by command you, all forces are ordered to cease fire at once. You also cease destruction of any buildings or property. All casualties, whether Britannian or Eleven, shall be treated equally and without prejudice. In the name of Clovis la Britannia, you are here by ordered, cease fire at once. I shall allow no further fighting."

At that both solders and civilians looked around in shock what they had just heard. The man who had ordered their destruction had just ended the battle. Many of the solders didn't want to help the Japanese people but orders were orders and they followed them without question. To do otherwise was the equivalent of treason, which was punishable by death. Kallen could only think one thing, whoever had helped them out had saved them.

Ashford Academy present time

Kallen hated her time at Ashford academy. Playing the part of a sickly Britannian noble woman was the worst, most of the people looked down at her seeing her as weak, which meant that she needed to be taken by the stronger members of society. More then once she had to deal with members of the opposite sex wanting to take advantage of her family name. and then their were her so called friends, nothing more than idiots who thought they were doing her a favor by sticking with her. But she saw right threw them, they just wanted to feel better about themselves. That's why the were pretending to care about her. She would rather be out their with her real friends trying to figure out who was their mysterious savior was. But instead she had to hide in plane sight at school.

"Kallen! It's been ages!" Sophie stated in a voice that held the slightest bit of condensation.

"Are you all, right? Sophie's been worried sick all this time." Another one of her so-called friends asked.

"You're okay though, right?" said the third.

"Yeah, I just have to go easy for a little while." Kallen responded.

Lelouch looked at Kallen with a hint of sadness before thinking to himself 'sorry Naoto, I know you wanted her to stay out of the assassins but she needs us and we need her'

"Anyway, if I stay home any longer, I'll never catch up." Kallen added

Rivalz who was walking next to Lelouch saw what he was looking at and commented "What's up, buddy? See something you like? You've got a thing for her, don't ya!

Lelouch wanting to deflect his friends idea stated "Just thinking this a rare event. She hasn't been here at school since this whole term started."

Rivalz not getting what his friend was trying to do said "Kallen Stadtfeld. They say she's sick or somethin', and she barely showed up at school last year either. Still, her grades are at the top of the class. And she's a member of the Stadtfeld family, which means she's well-bred and rolling in money. Man, you sure know how to pick 'em."

"It's not like that." Lelouch said with a shake of his head.

Rivalz patted Lelouch on the back and said "Aah, you don't have to hide it. A touch too sheltered though if you ask me."

At that moment a bee began to fly around the group of female students. The moment that the harmless insect was spotted panic erupted.

"Aaaaah! There's a bee! A bee!" one of the students cried out in fear.

"Student: Oh my God. Kallen, run!" Sofie cried out

"Hurry up and run!" another student yelled.

"I don't get it, why is a bee after me? Hm? I wonder if there's a hive nearby…" Kallen thought to herself not reacting to both the insect and the people freaking out around her as she moved towards the bushes to hide calmly. However on the inside she was angry at the fact that she had to act like a cripple. "God, I hate this! I'm sick of acting like a freakin' invalid!" at that moment she saw that Lelouch was looking at her before he gave a sly smile and walked away "Crap, he saw me…" was all that Kallen could think to herself.

Kallen was on edge for the rest of the day even after school ended and was walking home and for some reason she felt as if she was being watched the entire time. Already her mind was going a mile a minute around what to do with the possible problem of her cover being blown. Part of her was happy as she probably had an excuse not to be seen around her school for a time. And even then, if that didn't work, she had her trusty switch blade with her, part of her was a little surprised how quickly her mind went to murder but in the end, it was her and her friends or the life of one snooty Britannian noble. As she walked towards her house trying to plan out what she was going to do next. While she was walking, she made a left into an ally way in an attempt to get away from the feeling of being watched. However as she entered the ally, she heard a thud and turned around and saw a hooded and masked figure heading towards her with his hands up to show that he wasn't armed. However Kallen wasn't buying it and moved to a fighting stance.

" Relax Q1 I'm not here for a fight" Lelouch said knowing that calling her Q1 would be enough to calm her down or at least stop her from starting a fight.

"Wait you were the one who saved us all yesterday. Thank you." Kallen said as she got out of her fighting stance "Why are you here, uhh-"

"Call me Zero, that is my code name" Lelouch said. "I came here to talk to you, about Naoto and the truth."

Kallen was surprised when she heard that Zero knew her brother. He was only a small-time leader of a minor group of freedom fighters that totaled around 30 men. How would Zero know about her brother. But then another thought entered her mind, Naoto's other group. No mater how she hard she tried Naoto wound never talk about his other friends and their goals. With a small gasp she said "Your with that other group that my brother was a part of. He never told me anything, no matter how much I begged or tried to snoop around."

"Yes, well one of our biggest and most important rule is never to compromise us in any way shape and form. That included talking to family, no mater how much you wish to tell them" Lelouch answered.

"I understand" Kallen said sadly knowing the importance classified information. She then asked, "So what do you wish to talk about?"

"An alliance between two groups, After yesterdays battle, my associates and I gathered and decided that we need to be more active against Britannia."

"So you want to work with us" Kallen summarized

"Its more complex than than but yes we need to work together. Lelouch said with a breath before adding "one thing you know. We don't discriminate based on race."

Realization dawned on Kellan as she understood what Zero meant and said "You have Britannians in your ranks"

"Your one to talk considering your half Brittanian yourself." Lelouch said with a chuckle, "but I'm not one to talk either. There are others that can see past all the propaganda that says that Britannians are better than others, and even then, there are fewer that can gather the courage to do what is right." with that Lelouch took off his hood and mask revealing himself to Kallen. He knew that this was a risk but still if worst came to worse he could use his Geass to make her forget this conversation.

Kallen was shocked to see that the one who had helped them back in the Ghetto yesterday all she could ask was say "but why?"

"Because I couldn't stand still and do nothing." Lelouch said

Kallen stood their in-silence processing what she had just heard. The idea that she wasn't the only student In Ashford that was fighting Britannia was a big shock to her.

Lelouch speaking again was what pulled Kallen out of her funk. "Kallen I'm trusting you with this information"

Kallen quickly shook her head before saying, "I'm not own to throw a friend of my brother under the bus." She then asked "when are we going to meet up"

"16:00, the day after tomorrow. The observation deck at Tokyo Tower. Bring the leaders of Naoto's rebels and meet us there. Also don't tell them who I am, they wont trust me."

"Don't worry we will"

"There is one more thing" Lelouch said "We want you to join the Brotherhood of Assassins"
