It has been a year since I started learning the shinobi arts from Fuji-sensei. He treats me very well but is a strict teacher.

I am happy to say I am now proficient in the 'Strong Fist' and using the 'Henge', 'Bunshin' and 'Kawarimi' jutsu, and can dispel genjutsu pretty easily, at least lower levelled ones.

Fuji-sensei's style of teaching is somewhat strange in my eyes since he refuses to teach me how to use weapons until I have become proficient enough in Taijutsu, Ninjutsu and Genjutsu. He said it was to "Focus on the basic ninja arts." but I think shuriken and kunai training should have been included in that, but oh well.

It was after I first learnt the 'Henge' that the Guide spoke up and taught me about the 'Skills' function, it's really cool and lets me see how good I am at any given skill:

-Skills-

-Shinobi Skills-

-Chakra Control, LEVEL 5/20-

-Taijutsu: Strong Fist, LEVEL 4/10-

-Ninjutsu: Henge, LEVEL MAX, 5/5-

-Ninjutsu: Kawarimi, LEVEL MAX, 5/5-

-Ninjutsu: Bunshin, LEVEL MAX, 5/5-

-Other Skills-

Weaponsmithing: LEVEL 5/25, NOVICE (can make up to 'uncommon' grade items.)

Armoursmithing: LEVEL 5/25, NOVICE (can make up to 'uncommon' grade items.)

tailoring: LEVEL 10/25, APPRENTICE (can make up to 'rare' grade items.)

Wood Carving: LEVEL 10/25 (can make up to 'rare' grade items.)

I learnt a few things about skills over the year, like how they take longer to level the higher level they already are, and that the 'Proficiency Level' as the guide called it, on the crafting related skills deem the quality of items I can make.

(Beginner is Level 0-4, letting me make 'common' items, Novice is Level 5-9, letting me make 'uncommon' items, Apprentice is Level 10-14, Letting me make 'Rare' items, Skilled is Level 15-19, Letting me make 'Epic' items, and 'Master' is level 20-25, letting me make 'Legendary' items.)

I also learnt that I am able to 'scan' any item I make, which is how I learn to make it instantly, as well as giving me information on the item like its quality and a short background.

For example, one of the times Fuji-sensei let me practice at the forge, I made a combat knife. When I scanned it, it showed:

-Combat Knife, Uncommon-

-This combat knife was made by Nakamura Haruto, it has never been used in combat and looks brand new, it won't break soon.-

-This weapon has 0 renown.-

When I asked the guide about the renown, he told me it is how famous the weapon is, he also said to scan the weapons and armour I make regularly if I use them, so I can tell if they will break soon.

"Haruto-kun, I think it's about time we start teaching you shuriken and kunai throwing, as well as handheld kunai fighting…"

Nine Months Later

It has been nine months since Fuji-sensei started teaching me how to throw kunai and Shuriken. I am really good with kunai, but shuriken throwing isn't my strong suit.

I managed to consistently get 10/10 on a moving target using kunai, but shuriken I usually only get up to 8/10.

Needless to say, I was good, and Fuji-sensei recognised that and started teaching me his Kenjutsu, which uses a tanto, which he helped me smith.

He said I had to use a tanto I made myself, with the help of my teacher, in order to 'Remain rooted to and have a deep emotional bond with the blade' because I should treat the blade as if it's part of me, and who wants a part of themselves broken? He also said it must be named by the same teacher, so he named it: 'Hogomaru'

What shocked me was when I scanned the blade, it showed this:

-Hogomaru (Tanto), Epic-

-This Tanto was made by Nakamura Haruto and his teacher, Fuji. it has never been used in combat and looks brand new, it won't break soon.-

-This weapon has 0 renown.-

The system recognising the name shocked me slightly, but it was fine. But then I saw the quality and it was 'epic', which I realised after made sense since Fuji-sensei had to be a skilled smith, but at the time it freaked me out.

When I tried to recreate the Hogomaru using the 'Craft' function of the system, it wouldn't work, however, saying 'This Item is too high-quality for you to make.'

Overall during the year, I became proficient in the 'Fuji Tanto Style' Kenjutsu, as well as Kunai and Shuriken throwing, along with using Kunai in conjunction with the 'Strong Fist'. Fuji-sensei was a sucker for chakra control exercises too, so I learnt to stick leaves to myself and walking up vertical walls and trees, constantly practising. I also helped a lot around the workshop, I sewed a lot, along with doing woodwork, but did get some practice smithing weapons and armour.

My skill page looks like this:
