The atmosphere of the luxurious place filled with fine wines and the sweet scent of roses that covered the long and huge corridor was somehow nice and quiet. Only the wealthiest people were walking over those waxed floors, having animated conversations while carrying in their hands a long cup with drinks on it. Not only where lots of persons well-known by the society, but everyone from Shinhwa school was invited to attend.
The tense grew when the slow footsteps of the two commoners were to be seen. Every girl would stare mostly at the girl with short hair, angrily gasping for how she had the audacity to present her face in a party where everyone thought she wasn't at all invited. Wrong they were, Geum Jan Di had not only being persuaded by her friends but an invitation was personallly send to her.
Ga Eul was holding her arm really tightly, uncomfortable for all the glares they were receiving. But a sigh they released when everyone quickly payed attention to the scream of a girl, announcing the presence of the three most handsome and rich guys there. Every soul ran towards them, making a circle around them and giving a stare of desire. The two commoners glance at them from up the stairs before they could turn around and notice they were there. A small smirk appeared in both girls as they awkwardly walked down the stairs to meet them.
"So you decided to come" Woo Bin with a grin on his face, looking for a moment to the country bumpkin, giving her a blink of how happy he was she did as he told her.
"Yes, but I'm not sure if I should stay" it felt uncomfortable how everyone was listening to what she was saying, speaking very low so nobody could understand.
"If you go, it will be totally rude of your part to leave your best friend behind, don't you think?" this persuasion of the Casanova was just untruth. Ga Eul wasn't this night allowed to be with anybody else except for him. Even it was just an exaggeration of his part, the potter knew the country bumpkin was never to be alone as for he was going to stay by her side.
Geum Jan Di turned her head to have a glimpse of her friend's face, and then she nodded. Staying was a hard decision.
Thereafter the boys took the girls to the biggest room of the building, where most of the invited people was. Tables were full of red roses, and cards with the name of who it belong the seat. The F4 were quickly taken to their respective table, searching around for the birthday boy. Even though the last meeting with the leader of the F4 didn't went so great, an apology to each other was sufficient enough to fix their friendship. The only problem they were having at the moment was of how Gu Jun Pyo warn them to not talk of the commoner, that was the only rule now. Invited her didn't have to do anything with the rule, and all three of them agreed to it.
Yoon Ji Hoo opted to sit on the seat for the night, the sensation of something bad about to happen made him feel ill at ease. Some things didn't seem right but suspicious. Even when it was his best friend's birthday party, the face of Gu Jun Pyo, who which he quickly located, didn't seem to enjoy at all this moment.
Woo Bin began to quickly drink the little alcohol they were given at the table while Geum Jan Di was just sitting beside him, watching attentively to the leader of the F4 and how he suddenly decided to make its way to them. Her heart began to pound really loud, nervous for the repentinious confrontation they were about to have after a long time of not seeing him.
"Ga Eul, let's go to dance" out of nowhere the Casanova in which resulted for everyone to turn their heads and look at him. The boys knew why he unexpectedly said those words, leaving Gu Jun Pyo and Jan Di to talk alone was going to be the best. So Yi Jeong rapidly grabbed her by the hand and pulled her away without waiting for her reply.
"Can I join in?" asked the Don Juan while standing up, patting for a quick moment to the commoner who was still on her seat really scared. After that he went with the couple, ruining their nice moment alone. But Ji Hoo stood there, not wanting to move at first, desiring to stay by her side and see what was going to happen next. His two best friends glance at him with a stare that said he should leave them alone. He sighed, and slowly nodded, standing up and walking towards another direction.
"I hope they can resolve their problems" So Yi Jeong said while glaring at the two of them now together at the same table. Gu Jun Pyo was obviously annoyed that his friends took off and left him with no other than the girl he loves. Both F4 smiled at this while Ga Eul just looked a bit sad to them, wishing the best of luck.
"Should we dance?" her boyfriend asked immediately and this made her snap out of her trance. She looked at his hand who was waiting to meet hers, but before she could offer het hand, someone bumped into her from behind, and this made her get more close to the Casanova.
"Yah!" Woo Bin expressed really surprised yet upset.
"Joesonghabnida" a female voice said and at that moment Ga Eul turned around to see who was the person apologizing to her.
"Omo!" the girl said very happy and surprised. "You're the girl from Macau, right?" her finger was pointing to her direction still not believing it was really the country bumpkin.
"Ne" said the commoner, her smile growing every second more wide after realizing who was the female. It was 'Supergirl', as she would call herself.
"Aigo! Not you again" Woo Bin said with a disgusted tone, looking at her from head to toe with a serious gaze.
"Yah! Is this pervert harassing you too?" she pointed now to him, never noticing how So Yi Jeong was holding the hand of his girlfriend. Ga Eul shook her head with a grin on her face.
The Don Juan abruptly gave a heavy coughed, unbelieving what he just heard. "Do you think I will harass someone like you?" he gave a little laugh, making fun of what she just said while his index finger pointed boldly at her body. The girl immediately covered herself with her hands offended.
"Please, don't underestimate me. The word pervert is not what offends me, is the word 'you'" he crossed his arms very confidently, giving a devilish smile for how proud he was for his words, looking at the girl getting rage. Woo Bin could definitely see the vapour that was coming out of her ears.
"Yah!" she exclaimed very loudly while glancing at him furiously. Gritting her teeth and forming her fists.
"You, servant, hold this for me" the girl pushed her purse against So Yi Jeong's chest so he could grab it quickly, not wanting to lose her time to beat up once again the Don Juan.
As soon as she was ready, he immediately went to cover himself behind the country bumpkin. Convincing himself that he wasn't afraid of her was all he thought, trying to forcefully denying to himself by thinking he was just hiding away to not confront and do some damage to her.
"I am no servant" the Casanova said very annoyed, throwing her purse to her so she could catch it.
"What? But you are dressing exactly like one of them" it was very scary how she could change her mood from being furious to confuse with a mild expression.
So Yi Jeong gasped offended and smiled sarcastically. The female was just growing on both boy's nerves. It was amazing how she had the power to make them feel like this.
"Maybe you should-" So Yi Jeong was swiftly covered with the hands of the country bumpkin. A nervous giggle escaped from her lips as she knew what the potter wanted to say. Eyes grew wide for him as he couldn't believe his girlfriend just literally shut him up before he could be rude, something that he loved to do.
"Why don't we keep enjoying this lovely party without throwing punches at each other..." she said with a smile on her face, trying to sound politely. "...or without offending" she looked at the Casanova with a serious gaze before once again return a smile to the girl right in front of them, looking at them with a small smile, not knowing what tension was happening.
"She started it first" Yi Jeong exclaimed after pushing away the hand of the commoner, acting like a child when it was scold. But the female just ignored his comment, grabbing the hand of Ga Eul and pulling her more close.
"Hey, why don't you come with me. It will be fun to have someone by my side" she said very excited, but before the country bumpkin could respond to this, the girl quickly took her away without waiting for her answer. The Casanova stood there agape, this was supposed to be a night where he was going to be with his lovely girlfriend, and now some crazy chick just separated them in no time. The rudeness of that girl was something he couldn't stand. He never would wish to anybody, not even his worst enemies, to have a girlfriend like that monkey. The thought of someone loving her made him feel sorry for whoever would dare to it.
"Aish!" he exclaimed very annoyed, taking a cup of wine of a table and drinking it in a gulp.
"I feel ya' man" Woo Bin patted his shoulder while looking at both girls leaving to have some fun by themselves.
The night was fun for both Ga Eul and her new friend. Sometimes it was very weird for her how the girl would behave and talk. She was bold but sweet at the same time, and that's what made her special from others. Her sincerity was something the country bumpkin appreciated at any time she opened her mouth. Acknowledging that she had to be rich, it felt so different from others, because she acted like the commoners at many times. The only thing that she could notice it was a common characteristic of the wealthy people, was the fact that they always think they can have anything they want around them. Ha Jae Kyung, as she mentioned her name at the beginning of their girl time, acted like that, always "stealing" from the other's tables the drinks or food that they maybe order.
"So, do you know Gu Jun Pyo?" the commoner asked a bit curious while watching her eat some lobster like there was no tomorrow.
"No, but my parents forced me to come by no reason" she said without great care, enjoying at least the food.
"Maybe they know him" Ga Eul suggested very timidly, her stomach losing the appetite for how she was eating.
"Yes, that could be. But what I'm sure about is that I don't have any interest in meeting that birthday boy. I don't like to hang around with these kind of people even if I'm one like them" her smile warmed Ga Eul's heart, Jae Kyung was totally different from others even if she could act sometimes very childish, but that was just part of her personality.
Suddenly and abruptly, two well-dressed man touched her arms and she gave a little jump scared. Turning her head to both sides to see who were the ones to have this audacity, she recognize them and sigh like defeated.
"You need to come with us" said one of them very serious, still touching her arm for precaution of any unexpected move unwanted.
"Yah! Can't you see I'm eating" she returned to look at the food very annoyed while Ga Eul was watching the scene very quiet, thinking this were the man who were always by her side. It didn't fit in her mind how could her supposedly bodyguards were talking to her like that.
"Your father has inquire for your presence" the other told her.
"I'm not going with you" the monkey girl said very frustrated that they were still there, insisting for her to forcefully come.
Right at that moment, the two man looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders as if they had no other choice. Then they took her by force, getting her up while she scream for them to release her, but they just ignore her and kept trying to stop her kicks from connecting to their legs. Ga Eul stood up quickly after this not knowing what to do or say. But before she could follow the men and investigate where they were taking her, a hand was placed on her shoulder to stop her while other person passed beside her, walking really fast to the man who were taking Ha Jae Kyung.
Woo Bin grabbed one of them by the shoulder and made him turn around abruptly, giving him a punch on the face. The other was still grabbing her arm, but when he acknowledge he was the next one to receive a punch, he let her go and try to fight against him, but the Don Juan was too fast for him. The people around them gasp in astonishment and got scared by this sudden violence inside.
"Stop!" a man yelled out with all of his force out of his lungs, and the bodyguard follow his orders. The F4 member looked up to see who was the one who had the audacity to scream at him like this, and the face of the men was unrecognizable for him. Suddenly, the mom of Gu Jun Pyo appeared right behind of them with a shock yet furious expression. So Yi Jeong, Ga Eul and the others were now surrounding them, agape to seed this scenery.
"Pardon me" the mother of the F4 member said with a fake smile, pressing her hand against her chest in sign that she was terribly sorry for what happened.
"He's just a friend of my son. He must've have believed they were bad guys" she said with a face that could tell she was afraid of something. Woo Bin bowed and apologize for his behaviour, being now the center of attention to everyone at this point. The man had a serious gaze that could kill anyone instantly if possible, but all of a sudden, as if it could not be any more possible that he was related to her, he smiled and began to laugh. He was totally the father of Ha Jae Kyung.
"Is okay. I know he just try to protect her not knowing they are my bodyguards" he said to her and to the Don Juan.
Woo Bin smiled at this, feeling relief that there was no more trouble for him. The regretfulness of helping her was making him feel ashamed of himself. How could he help someone who had previously beat him down in many occasions? Next time he was sure to think it twice before making a move. That monkey girl had her moves to defend herself and that's when he felt more embarrassed.
"Now leaving behind this altercation, I must come down to the point immediately before I part away" the father of Jae Kyung told to the 'witch'. Turning around to glance at his daughter, he pulled her close to him and raise his hand to point at Gu Jun Pyo, which lead him to be confused by this. His mother stare at him, signaling to come near them while everyone was watching.
"Daughter, I must present to you, Gu Jun Pyo, your soon-to-be husband" he laughed happily at this while everyone else gasped astonished, everyone could not believe this words and even more the F4 and the girls.
"Congratulations for your engagement" the mother of the boy with curly hair said with devilish smirk on her face before she could go away, knowing that the two now-engaged couple were totally confused by this, happy that the commoner who stole once his heart witness the everything.
"Dad, how could you do this to me?" she asked very furious, but her father walked away without saying a word, believing she didn't need to know the reason behind at this moment. Ha Jae Kyung try to stop him butt he bodyguards blocked her way. Wide open was her mouth, this wasn't true, she thought as she glanced back at Gu Jun Pyo before leaving in search of the men who put her in this situation.
He looked at Jan Di for a second before running away to meet the other girl. The F3 glance at him before following him, questioning what was he about to do.
"Gu Jun Pyo, what are you doing?" asked So Yi Jeong very preoccupied at the lobby, where no one could see them now as they were all in inside the party.
"I need to find and tell her I'm not marrying her" he said while looking around for the monkey girl.
Suddenly, the potter grabbed him by the shoulders and shake him a bit to make him react. "You shouldn't waste your time in that. Snap out of that fake personality of yours now and follow your heart. There's someone who loves you and is hurt now" those words really stung the leader, making his eyes grew wide and realizing the truth in his short speech. Ga Eul witnessed this and smiled, feeling proud and happy of how the Casanova could be such a good friend, if not the greatest friend.
Gu Jun Pyo nodded slowly and turn to look for Jan Di now. Time was running out as she was about to leave, and the need of explaining to het everything couldn't be left for any other moment but now.
Thereafter Ga Eul walked slowly towards her boyfriend with a bright smile. Leaning to his face, she gave a small kiss on his cheek which made him blush a bit. "I'm really proud of you" she said and hold his hand very tightly. So Yi Jeong smiled innocently and pushed slightly with his hand her forehead, playing around with her.
"Ugh! Love" Woo Bin said as he put on his trench coat.
The party was ruined for the F4 because of the news of Gu Jun Pyo's engagement. There was no reason to stay there and watch how that wicked witch of his mother smiled in victory. The three of them sighed before deciding to leave, it was better this way. They just hoped everything could turn out great for the leader and the commoner with short hair.
Soon enough they left. So Yi Jeong drove Ga Eul to her home while the Don Juan went to get his car, wanting to leave rapidly and go to sleep. But the groans of someone woke his attention to find out who was the one making such great scandal while beginning to sob.
Sitting in the corner of the sidewalk, he saw no other than the monkey girl, the one who was now engaged to his best friend. Immediately and without thinking it, he turned around to leave, but something, a thought stopped him and he didn't knew why. This wasn't at all his personality, but the urge of going to her made him turn once again around and walk slowly behind her, looking how pitiful she seem.
"You know, girls think they look cute when crying, but that's not true at all. It makes them ugly" those were no words of comfort, but it wasn't his fault he didn't knew how to speak correctly in this situations.
Ha Jae Kyung turned her head to take a glimpse of the boy "It's you" she said in a disappointed tone, surrounding her legs with her arms and her head over her knees. Tears were still running down through her cheek.
Sighing annoyed, he felt this wasn't correct but he still stood there. "Why are you crying about, monkey?" that last word made her turn her head very fast to give him a serious glare. She knew this was now a way he wanted to call her, but after a couple of seconds, she lowered her shoulders very sad again, thinking it wasn't worth it to fight with him now.
"I don't want to get married" Jae Kyung said with a childish tone that made him rolll his eyes at this. Crossing his arms, he was thinking what to say next.
"You should already know we don't have that liberty of choosing. We were born to be like this, to be controlled by our parents and take the responsibility of what they have worked so hard for us. It is pretty stupid that you haven't realize that" he once again didn't use the correct words, and it was making the girl get little by little angry at him. It was true what he was saying, but that wasn't the right way to say it.
A few seconds passed and none of them talked. It bug him how she didn't respond to him back, but then he realized why. Ha Jae Kyung was shaking uncontrollably and her lips were changing of color. No wonder why she was cold when the dress she had on was very short, not carrying any coat to protect her skin. Woo Bin sighed even more annoyed at this, taking off his trench coat.
"Here, take this" he throw her the coat, landing right over her head. Trying to be a gentleman didn't succeed, he was being nice yet rude for his actions.
Jae Kyung quickly put it on and thank him, rubbing her hands together for warm. It was obvious how she didn't want to get in again to the building, and her bodyguard was nowhere near hear, she escaped away, wanting to be alone.
Woo Bin turned around to leave, believing it was more than sufficient what he did for her. She was something else, an annoying human being for him, and he didn't want to find out what will happen if he stayed longer. Also, the Don Juan was tired, tired physically and mentally after all these news.
A hand suddenly touched him behind over his shoulder and he stopped, turning a bit his head to the side to catch a glimpse of the monkey girl standing there.
"Thank you, for everything. Even when my life wasn't in danger, you decided to help me. Gomaseupnida" he could sense her warm smile and the truth in her words. She wasn't being sarcastic at all, and that's what made him wonder what kind of person she was now. Although, the curiosity was there, he decided to move on, walking away from there without saying a word.
"What should we do now? Gu Jun Pyo is going to get married" Ga Eul said very preoccupy, sitting beside her boyfriend inside the car that was now parked in front of the building.
"Ga Eul, this is the life of us. This is what makes us stay on top of the business, engaging two persons just to unite companies and make them stronger and more powerful" he sighed and looked at her after speaking. The worry on her face made him wonder what was going through her mind right now as she kept quiet for a second.
"That won't happen to us, right?" she said in a preoccupied tone, holding tightly the hand of the Casanova. He smiled, but not because it was funny but because it was cute to see how she got worried about them and their relationship, truly caring about it.
Taking her hand now, he slowly kissed it and glance itnensely at her eyes. "No, I would never permit that" the potter with great confidence, giving a smile that could assure her of his words. Trusting was all she could, but deep inside of her, the country bumpkin knew it was going to be like that, that no one would break them away.
"But now we have to think of how we are going to get back together those two knuckleheads" said So Yi Jeong, thinking of ideas that could function, bit none came into his mind.
"Hhmmm...maybe we could talk with unnie and tell her to say that she doesn't want to get marry" she gave an idea, but the potter looked at her a little frustrated.
"Unnie? Seriously, unnie?" he said disgusted to hear that word. How could Ga Eul dare to call that monkey girl like that after all she had did to them? It was kind of funny then how the commoner looked at him confused, smiling incredibly.
"She's a good person" the country bumpkin pointed out, crossing her arms pursing her lips.
So Yi Jeong stood quiet after this, still smoking for a bit before turning to see that the lights were still on in her apartment. That made him think, think of many things.
"Ga Eul" he called out for her attention, and she turned her head to see him. "When I can introduce myself to your parents?. I must say I want to make it official and have their consentment of this relationship. Also, I already need to know them since they're going to become family soon, don't you think?" this comment made her blush madly, not knowing what to say. Reality stung her as she thought of how would it be when they plan to get married. Those thoughts made her heart pound really hard and fast, and the words couldn't come out correctly.
So Yi Jeong saw her reaction and felt happy for it. "Please, think about it and tell me soon. I would be very pleased to meet them" kissing her forehead as a form of saying good night, she sweetly smiled at him before opening the car door and leave to her apartment.
Now getting to her room, she took a moment to reflect on everything that happened tonight. The news of Gu Jun Pyo and the heart broken of Jan Di were just the terrible spotlight of the night, but although the sadness for her friend was there, there was still some good moments like meeting once again Ha Jae Kyung and getting to know how good and different she was, and how So Yi Jeong treated her like a princess, wanting to know already her parents. Meditating on it made her decide once and for all what was best for them. The Casanova was going to meet her parents,but how will they react?
Yes, I know. Not lots of SoEul moment but I try to concentrate a bit on the others so the story can progress with them and the main couple. So, as you can see, there was no Truth or Dare in this chapter, but one thing I will say is that next one will have it. I was thinking of many ideas, but I'm more excited for the fake date lol
