A/N

Alright, time to answer the obvious question people are asking. Specialist or Generalist? Got people going on both sides of this, but Grimm will be a Dark-Type Specialist. Not to say he will act like a dumbass like in the games and not have any sort of cover moves and team members for the common threats to Dark Types.

I just feel like the route of a specialist is overall more interesting and presents a more unique challenge compared to running a generalist team. Sure a generalist team would be stronger, but that isn't entirely the point.

If Pokemon and Humans are talking in the same scene, I'm going to write the Pokemon in Italics. Hopefully it doesn't get confusing but I'll work out a good system for this.

Chapter is where things start to get a bit dark, here's your warning if you don't like that sort of stuff. I did rate this story M for a reason though.

About 6k words this time.

Enjoy it if you want.

I yawned and looked around the interior of Union Cave, surprised at just how many Pokemon there were around. A veritable cover of Zubats were hanging from the roof of the cave, Geodude and Onix lined the floor and walls only occasionally moving around. The water was filled with a plethora of Magikarp and Goldeen, the occasional Whooper being seen as well near the edges of the water.

Small reflectors and dim track lights are placed along the ground, giving some small ambient light for the occasional human passerby. They weren't bright enough to reach the ceiling so the Zubat swarm remained undisturbed.

Exhaustion was finally beginning to actually hit me, but not enough for me to actually sleep. It seems I have been beaten over the head with the insomnia stick yet again tonight. I actually don't know what time it is, since Alonso and I had been traveling in this cave for the past 2 days. The trail was clearly marked, so I knew we weren't lost, but this was massively larger and longer than what I remember from the games.

Then again, everything else had been scaled up massively in size from the game world and even the anime. This really should have been something I accounted for. There weren't exactly any berries in the cave, so once my supply I had from foraging ran out I haven't eaten anything.

Actually, thinking about it more I realized that it was probably day since Zubat wouldn't like going out during the day and only leave at night. Well, that's one mystery solved. Other one is what the hell to do about food.

I could probably eat a Zubat, but eating a poison type sounds like a horrible idea. Not to mention I wouldn't have any fire to cook it on. If I got desperate I could grab a Magikarp as well. And before anyone gets mad about the idea of eating Pokemon, please remember that multiple Pokemon are explicitly said to be eaten so it's not like I'm being barbaric.

Technically I'm a Pokemon too so it isn't like if it was illegal I could be tried for it. Otherwise a rather large amount of wild Pokemon would be arrested on sight which is silly. Turns out the ecosystem here does involve Pokemon eating Pokemon. Not surprising, even with the absurd berry growth rates there isn't enough food around to support the frankly massive Pokemon population. So, a food chain exists here as well.

Isn't nature just beautiful?

Alonso got cranky over the lack of food and flew off towards the water, promising he'd be back in a little bit. I sometimes saw him flying around, eyeing the water appraisingly, so I knew he was fine and probably just looking for a Magikarp or something. Or a shiny rock, you never know with Murkrow.

I slowly started to notice more and more people around the path. Thankfully, no one actually challenged me to a battle inside the dim cave. Well, for them at least as I can see perfectly fine. I always thought that was silly anyways. Why are you standing around or having a picnic inside of a Zubat infested cave and challenging a random kid that is just trying to get out... to a Pokemon battle? Neither of you can see well. Turns out it's a game-only thing, since people have more self preservation than that.

Soon enough, Alonso flapped back to his perch on my shoulder. Landing, he began to use his beak to clean himself slightly. His feathers were a bit wet, and I could still see some blood glinting from his feathers. Seems like he made a catch, good for him.

"So, how much longer before we get through this cave Don?" Alonso asks, using his new title for me. Since he accepted me as a Trainer, he insisted it was only proper for him to use that title for me. Something about how he belonged to two flocks now and needed to show proper respect for both leaders. Honestly, I didn't see the big deal but it looked important to him so I didn't protest.

I spotted a kid walking towards me and groaned internally. His eyes immediately locked onto Alonso and never waivered, seemingly interested. His hand also began to play with his belt, which currently held 3 Pokeballs. Most Trainers don't keep empty Pokeballs on their belt, not wanting to get them mixed up by accident.

So, I was unsurprised when he suddenly stopped and pointed dramatically at me.

"You there! I challenge you to a Pokemon battle! Our eyes have met and you have the look of a trainer about you!" The kid said, full of confidence. I was actually a little impressed, he managed to say that clearly and confidently even though he had no idea if I'm a trainer or not.

"Sorry, but I decline. I'm not even a Trainer, would have told you that before your bold proclamation if you asked. Also, is that thing about eye contact even true? Seems a rather vague reason to have a battle. Someone looks in your direction and you have to battle? What if you're in a restaurant, gotta battle the waiter since you looked him in the eye?" I replied, not even bothering to stop walking as I stuck my hands in my pockets. His jaw dropped a bit at this and he got a confused look on his face.

"But… that Murkrow is really strong. I can tell just by looking at it!" The kid said in disbelief, dropping his outstretched arm back to his side. He straightened his back and narrowed his eyes. "You really aren't a Trainer? What are you doing with a Murkrow as strong as that out of its Pokeball?"

"Don! Let me fight him, no one gets to question you like that. It's disrespectful to doubt you when you already answered, and no one disrespects the Don." Alonso says, incensed and puffing out his chest. I sigh and turn to him.

"No, we aren't going to fight him, Alonso. We don't exactly have any medicine with us and I don't want you to have to travel with wounds and injuries." I quietly explained to Alonso, only slightly succeeding in calming him down as he was still busy glaring daggers at the boy trying to challenge me. I clear my throat and speak up again as I face the pre-teen.

"And you, I'm not a Trainer but I'm on my way to become one. Yeah I'm a month late to the season start but it'll be fine. I don't have any supplies and this Murkrow is my starter, so I'd rather not get into a scuffle in a dim cave while days away from any medical support for him when he gets injured in the fight." I say in a bored tone, slouching my posture and stopping just in front of him.

I really didn't have the energy for this, I've been walking on and off for 2 days without actually sleeping. Sure I sat down and rested my eyes for a while but it's no substitute.

The kid's countenance shifted immediately from that of confused determination to embarrassment. Leaning back and rubbing his neck while closing his eyes, he let out a long sigh. "Geeze, and here I thought I found a strong trainer that just didn't want to battle. Sorry about this… Say, where are you going?" He asks, looking curious. I'm sure I looked like trash, probably with dark circles around my eyes from lack of sleep.

"On my way to New Bark Town. Have to talk with Professor Elm about something in person apparently… why?" I ask, wanting to get a move on out of this cave. I could see the lights turn a corner and was hoping that was the exit. And past the exit lay impossibly fast growing berries I could consume.

"Because I'd like to travel with you! You seem interesting and I really do want to have a battle against that Murkrow. I'm only on the Standard Track so I'm not in a rush." He explains, shooting out his hand for me to shake. "I'm Liam, by the way."

I give him the George W Bush limp handshake. Normally I'd give a firm one but I can't be bothered right now.

"My name is Grimm. And… sure. I'm not about to tell someone that they can't travel with me. If anyone else challenges me and my partner Alonso here, go ahead and tell them to get in line. Or take their challenge yourself, I don't care." I say, holding back another yawn. Hey, maybe I'll get to sleep soon.

"By any chance, are we close to the exit of this place? I'm getting tired but want to get outside before taking a rest." I ask Liam, cracking my neck by touching my ear to my shoulder on both sides.

"Oh, yeah. It's about a 5 minute walk. Did you not sleep or something? You look like a Zigzagoon." Liam comments, leaning towards my face.

"No, I haven't. Been walking to get out of this cave." I say, pushing him back lightly and walking past him.

"But… it's a 4 day walk through Union Cave!" He states in worry, turning and walking side by side with me.

"And I walked it in 2 since I didn't sleep. Fear me and my ability to walk. Tremble." I reply in a monotone voice, side eyeing him. Alonso gets annoyed at being between us and hops over to my opposing shoulder. He still seemed angry at Liam but it's turned to huffing and ignoring him thankfully. Alonso quickly settles down and begins to nap. Lucky bastard. Should I make an effort to avoid towns with Pokecenters so that Alonso doesn't try and fight Liam now that medical aid is available?

I'm sure it'll be fine. And hey, I have a new travelling partner so that's cool. Liam may be hung up on fighting my Murkrow, not sure why, but he's been pretty reasonable about it.

"Wait… you haven't slept in 2 days?!" Liam shouted, getting me to wince and look over at him with a small glare.

"Yes. So I would like to leave this cave, find a nice spot to sleep, and set up camp." I explain in a staccato.

"Sooo… where'd you get those clothes? I like your threads but they seem expensive for someone who doesn't have any travelling supplies." Liam asks, looking my clothes over. I decided being a bit of a smartass was fine, since I could pull the "I'm Tired, Sue Me" card out on him.

"The same place where I got all of my other clothes." I responded.

"Oh from your parents or something then? Where are you even from?" Liam continues his attempt to bond with me and learn about my past. Shame I don't really have one I can share to get him off my back about it.

"From Azalea Town." I hoped my short answer ended the conversation, but it was in vain.

"Oh, that's cool! Bugsy's Gym is there right? He is a really cool Gym Leader. Ever met him?" Liam continues his game of 40 questions. He took my questions too which is why he has 40 and not 20. Personally I prefer the variant 0 questions but whatever.

"Yes and no respectively."

"Well, I'm from Violet City. Falkner is like, super cool! He's the one that inspired me to be a Flying Type Specialist like him!" Liam thrusts his fist into the air and gives a gigantic grin.

Oh, so Liam was a Flying Type Specialist. Explains why he focused so much on my Murkrow then. Jokes on him, he could technically catch Murkrow but he doesn't know that. All uncaptured Pokemon are legally considered Wild regardless of the situation so I couldn't even sue him over it. Can I even sue? I'm not a citizen of anywhere and I'm also an uncaptured Pokemon so… probably not?

Also… is everyone here that I meet going to be a raging extrovert? Growlithe, Nurse Joy, Chansey, Ash and Gang, Team Rocket, and now Liam?

Wait, Garrick wasn't one. He's still on my grudge list until I beat him up in a battle though. I'm not letting that go.

Just as the exit to the cave came within sight, an echoing boom reverberated through the area. It sounded and felt like it came from one of the lower floors, and Liam turned towards the direction of the entrance to the lower floors. I immediately grabbed his shoulder before he could take off, and I felt Alonso take off from my shoulder and start to fly around me.

"Liam, we are not going down there. That could have been an explosion and we really shouldn't run deeper into a cave that could have just been made structurally unsound from that."

"But-"

"No, I'm not even a trainer and you know that. You're on the Standard track. What we should do is go and find someone who can actually check and help instead of being a new body added to the list of people in danger." I say, gripping his shirt and dragging him towards the entrance. Having the strength of a Pokemon really is interesting I have to say, and I will abuse it mercilessly.

Liam only put up token resistance as I extracted us from the situation, along with vocal complaints on how he has to help anyone that might be in danger. On the way to the exit, an even stronger boom hit the cave and some small rocks trickled down on up. As if in an emergency, the swarm of Zubat began to evacuate the cave as well, causing me to duck down to get out of the way of the mass of Zubat. Alonso gave them his signature glare for daring to be near to me, though I doubt it was effective.

"...Okay maybe we should leave." Liam eventually responds, nervously glancing between the floor and the ceiling.

"Glad you're seeing reason then. Now… let's get out of here before this thing crumbles on top of our heads." I say, releasing my grip on him and start actually running to the exit. My previous slow shuffle wasn't going to cut it. Liam was following close behind me, I could hear his footsteps even if I wasn't looking.

It wasn't to be though, as part way to the exit the next boom hit and I stumbled onto my hands and knees. This one caused my teeth to rattle in my mouth and my bones to vibrate, and I was left gasping for a moment while catching my bearings. Okay, need to sta-

I immediately throw my body to the side, colliding with the wall hard and awkwardly enough to throw my sense of direction out of whack.

"DON!" I heard Alonso yell out from above me, and I hissed as I felt him pulling on me. His voice sounded… desperate? The hell just happened? And what is...

I force my body up, using the wall I collided with as a handhold to drag my weak legs under me.

"Alonso?" I manage to croak out, opening my eyes as I felt my world finally stop spinning in circles around me. He was flapping his wings in front of me, and I could barely make him out through the massive cloud of dust suddenly choking the air. His face was terrified, and he started trying to drag me forward by attaching his feet to my shoulder and flapping his wings.

"You need to get out Don! The cave is coming down!" Alonso orders me, as I stumble along before getting my feet under me again.

"Wait, I need to grab Li-" I say as I start to turn back to where Liam was, only to see a slab of rock sitting where we were both running. Blood was… everywhere. The arm sticking out from under the rock, desperately reaching forwards told me all I needed to know.

I numbly look down at myself, and notice I'm covered in blood. Large splatters of blood staining my coat, mixing horribly with the dust and grime now attaching itself to me.

I look away from the rock, realizing if I didn't suddenly throw my body to the side I would have ended up just like Liam. I… didn't know him well but he seemed like an okay kid. He didn't deserve this, he was just a kid inspired by the Flying Type Gym in his hometown and wanted to be the same.

I'm going to get revenge on whoever did this. More for the attempt on my life than Liam's death, but he'll have his own place in that. No matter how short lived it was, he was traveling with me. Intending on being a friend and comrade, or possibly an eventual friendly rival. And no one gets to harm people that ally themselves with me without retribution.

But first… I need to get out.

I stumbled my way forward to the exit, quickly steadying my shaking legs as I felt the urgency of my situation. I cleared through the exit, and kept running. I don't know if the lower parts of the cave undercut where I'm at, and don't want to risk it at all.

Eventually getting to a safe enough distance, I collapse and scoot my back against a tree. I draw my knees up and hang my head, gasping for air. I still felt numb, but flickered my clothes to get the disgusting feeling off of me. It was still there in my mind, but this made me feel marginally better. I vaguely hear Alonso telling me he is going to scout the area and see if anyone is around, but don't really pay much attention and give my consent.

"Fuck, I'm going to have nightmares about this. So many nightmares… and how did I know to dodge? I didn't hear anything and certainly didn't notice, so…" I ask myself, gears in my head sluggishly turning. After a moment, a broken memory floated through my head.

"This Zorua knows...Scratch, Leer… and Detect" I heard Dexter's robotic voice say, and I lean my head back into the tree I was resting against.

That...feeling? Vision? Instinct? Was it Detect? I didn't understand what it was telling me, but my body understood and went along with it. I'm grateful it did too, it absolutely saved my life there. Without it I would have ended up like...Liam.

The image of him was burned into my eyes, Caesar Zeppeli'ed right in front of me. I doubt his Pokemon survived either, the balls were on his belt and I didn't see any that came loose around the rock.

I finally looked up at what I was sitting under, and it was an Oran Berry tree. My stomach prompt reminded me I've barely eaten the past few days in Union Cave. Pulling myself up again, I start to pick off the low hanging berries and slowly eat them. I was hungry but also had lost all appetite, and I doubt I was getting it back soon.

Eventually, Alonso returned to where I was waiting and landed on my shoulder.

"Don, I can't explain just how glad I am that you dodged that boulder. I tried to warn you but I didn't think you could hear me over the explosion." Alonso says, appraising my condition. I may not be covered in blood and dust anymore, but I'm sure I looked like complete shit.

"I uh… didn't hear you. I know Detect, though, so when the rock fell towards me…" I mumble out, not really wanting to talk about the situation right now. Alonso picks up my reluctance but continues.

"I flew around the area, and saw some goons walking around in an all black uniform. Had a giant 'R' on the front of their shirt and were carrying boxes with 'Warning: Explosive' out of one of the Union Cave exits a bit aways from the normal one." Alonso says, ruffling his feathers a bit.

Team Rocket. Fucking Team Rocket did this? I'll mount Giovanni's skull for this. I could let go of the stealing and or trafficking of my egg, but this was personal now. Unintended, I logically know, and indirect. But that's no excuse for almost killing me. It was nothing personal, someone might say, but I was making it personal.

Before, I just wanted to be the strongest for the fun and sake of it. Now, I had a reason. I need to be strong enough to crush a Gym Leader's and Crime Lord's personal team and all of his bodyguards' teams.

"Alonso, that's an organization. A criminal one, ran similarly to a Honchkrow's Flock, named Team Rocket. No one is supposed to know the true leader's identity, but I do. I'm going to break his organization through hook or crook, and crucify him on the world stage." I explain calmly, looking at Alonso in the eyes before continuing.

"The man that leads this organization is a Gym Leader, so he's untouchable through normal means. Any accusation will be laughed off, so I'm going to drag him into the light." My minor monologue is interrupted by one final explosion, this time large enough to collapse part of the cave entrance and depress the ground around it as it fell inwards. A minor rock slide then occurred, filling the gap with rock.

It may be strange, but I felt some excitement within me. After all, I'd just made my first ever declaration of war. Even if no one else was around to hear it except my starter, I'm still counting it.

Well, time to get this show on the road.

LINE BREAK

I felt much worse and then better over the next few days. The shock I experienced quickly left me, which almost made it impossible to sleep despite how exhausted I was. Flashes of the cave kept showing in my mind, pumping me full of adrenaline. And when I did eventually fall asleep, it was filled with nightmares of much the same. Only this time, Detect didn't warn me in time. Or my dodge was too slow. Or Liam noticed before me and pushed me out of the way, leaving me to live with his sacrifice. Or-

You get the idea. In any case, it was not fun. But as the days of peaceful travelling went by, devoid of explosions, I felt better and better. It took a solid 5 days of travel before I saw signs of civilization again. Travel along the trail had died completely except for some emergency excavation trucks that passed me a couple of days ago. I'm not sure how word got out that fast, but I will just assume they had either sensors or cameras.

Whatever, I only had 2 goals in Violet City and none of them involved asking how they knew about the incident.

I quickly found the local Pokecenter after asking a few of the locals. Turns out this one is located in the Town Square. It's actually a really reasonable spot for it to be, so I probably should have just checked there first if I'm honest. Following the main street to the heart of the much larger than shown city, I see the Pokecenter in all its Red Roofed glory.

I walk inside, to see that this Pokecenter is much more packed than Azalea Town's Pokecenter. Hell, I think there's more people here than I saw during both of my visits to Azalea Town's Pokecenter combined. I walked up to a couple of people milling about and asked what was going on with all the people here.

The girl groaned at me and the boy just sighed and rubbed his face.

"Well, we are all on the Standard Track. And Falkner is kicking all of our asses even with a League approved Standard team. I have no idea how he managed to get a Pidgeotto league approved but he did. And now it's stomping all of our teams…" The girl explained to me, dejected.

Oh, well that makes more sense then. I guess it would be hard for new trainers who have only had their starter for a month to combat an evolved Pokemon of any caliber, much less one commanded by a Gym Leader.

Man, this really isn't like the games or anime where a kid can beat up a Gym Leader because they happened to have some will to win or such nonsense. I read in the rules that the granting of a Gym Badge is up to the Gym Leader's discretion, so technically they don't have to win. But impressing a Gym Leader enough for you to stand out when they get a ton of challengers a day must be hard.

Well, if they even make it through to the Gym Leader in the first place. Apparently it's normal for people to not even make their way through the Gym Trainers at times from what I'm hearing at spare complaints my ears are snagging from the din of conversation.

Eh, whatever. Not my problem that they can't beat the chaff leading up to the Gym Leader. They even have the right to stop once they beat the Gym Trainers and heal up before challenging the leader. They want both sides to be as strong as possible if it happens to be one of the ones that gets streamed or clipped for highlight reels.

Speaking of highlight reels, one was playing on a large TV in the waiting room. It was currently showing the highlights of today's fights. You'd think it'd be hard to be a Gym Leader's Pokemon if you have to battle in fights all day long, but most of the Trainers are unable to even touch his Pidgey right now, much less that Pidgeotto.

I stood in front of the TV, just watching Falkner wipe the floor with any challenger that came his way. He had a really intense look on his face too. I did notice something though. Only trainers with Totodile or Cyndaquil are challenging Falkner. I tap someone standing next to me on the shoulder and pull them from their thoughts.

"Hey, why am I only seeing people that don't have Chikorita battling Falkner?" I ask her.

"Oh, well most people that choose Chikorita skip both Falkner and Bugsy until they can come back later with more Pokemon. Or if they feel like their Chikorita is strong enough they come back too." She explains, giving me a smile.

"Is that your Honchkrow? It looks really strong!" Liam's challenge flashed before my eyes, but I quickly banished the memory. I give the lady a smile, and nod my head.

"Yep, this one here is my Pokemon. And he might be strong, but it doesn't matter. I'm not an official Trainer yet, anyways." I say, keeping my smile on my face.

"Well, I heard Falkner has a Honchkrow on his personal team. You could probably ask him for advice on how to raise your Murkrow." She offered, which was good information. I wasn't going to take any advice from him, it was just nice that I knew he had a Honchkrow and would be familiar with the species.

"I might do that once I become a trainer. I'm only really here because I need to make a call and I don't know of any other place I can do it at." I explain to her, leading my question to her. Thankfully, she picks up on it and looks around for a moment.

"Oh, well there are a couple of phone stalls over there for usage. They all seem occupied though." She says apologetically.

"Eh, not your fault. It's not an emergency call so I can wait. Thank you for the time." I say in a blasé tone.

Extracting myself from the conversation, I walk over to the stalls and find an empty spot to wait. There was a small line of people around, so I figured I might be here for a while. There was some sort of noise-proof container that all of the phone stalls were in, probably for call privacy in a public space like this. Technology in this universe is weird, I'm not questioning it.

Eventually, a spot opened up and I called one of the two numbers that I had memorized. I had planned on contacting Professor Oak at some point, and had memorized the number. Ash decided to initiate the contact first though, so it was a much less creepy thing if I just called Professor Oak out of the blue.

I dial in the number, hoping that I didn't fall enough to knock the right number out of my head. After a few rings, a voice which didn't sound like Professor Oak picked up.

"Hello, how can I help you?" The voice asks.

"Ah, yes. I was hoping to speak to Professor Oak. Is he present?" I say, remembering my phone manners and hoping they were the same here.

"Professor Oak is a busy man, obviously, and doesn't have time to answer phone calls from a public line. I can take a message if you want, however." The voice says. Slightly stern but practiced as well. I sigh in slight exasperation.

"Not to be rude, but can you tell him that Grimm is calling? I have some important information for the Professor and he should recognize my name." I explain, leaning against the side of the box. My sleep cycle was more messed up than normal due to waking up randomly from my nightmares, so I felt constantly exhausted but not enough to ever collapse. Alonso looked at me in slight worry from his eternal position on my shoulder, but I shook my head and waved him off.

After a moment of waiting, I heard the tell-tale noise of a phone being picked up on the other end before Professor Oak's shouting voice. "Grimm! I wasn't aware of how much of a mess the law is for your situation! It's truly fascinating just how many laws are vague or have loopholes. For example, you can barely do anything in places like Galar to become a Trainer but in-"

"Professor! I understand you're excited but I have important information." I say, a little short of temper. The professor seems a bit taken aback, but I continue on. "The collapse of Union Cave was caused by Team Rocket. They had explosives and used them in the lower reaches of the cave to destabilize them. I can confirm seeing them, and as can a Murkrow that wishes to join my team." I say seriously. That last part is a lie, about me seeing them, but I felt it might be needed.

The line fell dead for a few moments before Professor Oak responded in a serious tone to match mine.

"Official reports are that it was a result of a natural earthquake according to the sensors placed on the lower levels of the cave. The Seismographs closely matched that of an earthquake. Are you entirely sure?" Professor Oak asks me.

"Yes, I'm dead certain. Especially considering I almost died. If it wasn't for accidental Detect usage I would have been crushed when part of the ceiling was shaken loose. We spotted multiple people wearing Team Rocket uniforms evacuating from the caves in a rush and carrying boxes away. They had explosives inside the boxes, they were labeled." I state coldly.

"That is… grave news. I will leave your name out of any reports. I am going to contact the relevant officials and get them to increase the threat level of Team Rocket. When will you arrive at Elm's Laboratory?" Oak questions, already typing away at something.

"At my current pace? I'd say about a week and a half to two weeks. I'm not staying in any one place for very long, I'm leaving Violet City once I end this call."

"Hmm… yes, that should do. Please be careful on the rest of the trip, I don't know if Team Rocket has any additional plans and I don't want you getting caught up in their mess. You may be tougher than humans but you're untrained. Before you protest, I saw the data on you from Ash's Pokedex." Professor Oak commands me. I won't lie, he can really be authoritative when he wants to be. Probably something to do with him being a former Champion.

I respect the man enough to actually listen to his authority, and agree over the phone. If the most world renowned Pokemon Professor ever says I'm not strong enough to tangle with Team Rocket, I'll accept that. That doesn't mean I won't go and train my ass off to change that though. I have my pound of flesh to claim.

I quickly hang up on the phone after an exchange of farewells, and exit the stall. That went differently than I expected, if I'm honest. Usually authority figures act like nothing anyone says is true if they weren't there to see it. Instead, my testimony to authority was just… accepted. Neat.

I leave the Pokecenter soon after, not really having a reason to stay any longer. I mingled with the trainers staying in there for the night, but none of them really had any interesting information. One of them was just sitting in the corner pretending they didn't exist, since he made it onto the "Amature Fails" reel. Man, it would suck to be known by getting on that particular show.

But more importantly, I have places to go and people to see. Hopefully me reporting that to Professor Oak doesn't blow up in my face, I don't want Team Rocket to put a mark on me until I'm good and ready.

A/N

Longer chapter this time. Also, I got to write in and kill a character for the first time in this story. Hopefully it wasn't overdone or anything.

Also, hopefully the thought process Grimm was working on made sense to people. Not entirely in his right mind but he's going to stick with his decision.

Review if you want, I try to reply to all of my reviews that ask questions or have concerns.

Peace
