Hello peeps. This is something I'm working on to take my mind off of school. College has been dragging me down and this helps. This is just for fun, so I hope you can get enjoyment out of it. Will probably work on this with the little free time I have here and there.

This was the hardest thing Shirou Emiya has ever had to do.
He has fought against legendary heroes from across time. Fought against magi, humans, magical creatures, and even vampires.
Hell, he literally fought against himself, metaphorically and not so metaphorically.
This. This situation cut him down as nothing has before.
A junior high dance.
Shirou hated it completely. In becoming a Hero of Justice, Rin Tohsoka had convinced him to see the world before trying to save it. To try and understand the world on a deeper level. Something the heroic spirit of Emiya never really did. He agreed with her on principle, but disagreed that it would help him accomplish his goal. To try and save everyone. This choice put a strain on their relationship, and while Rin was at the Clock Tower pursuing her dreams, Shirou just couldn't bring himself to come between Rin and her work.
So, after spending time at the Clock Tower, he went back to school. This, along with his father's past connections (which were surprisingly nice considering Kiritsugu's occupation), Shirou was able to become a teacher. He majored in Linguistics with a minor in world history, already knowing Japanese and a bit of English, added with his grasp on structural understanding with weapons, he was able to learn multiple other languages just by traveling to different museums and looking at various. He never thought he might be able to possess a great skill in literacy, but his use of magecraft had many unintended side effects. Only 26 and he could speak in more languages than anyone else on the planet. If he wasn't trying to conceal his abilities, he could have become rich with these skills.
He thought that being a teacher that taught various languages and historical facts would keep him under the radar while letting him learn about the world. America was a weird place, especially in the last few years. There was one story he saw on the news that just… didn't sit right with him.
But that's besides the point. There were several places like this school that held mana. Not unlike that of a mage's workshop. And what intrigued him about this place is that he couldn't find the source. Usually Shirou could smell (yes, literally smell) something with mana. But amongst all the students and all the teachers he was around, Dr. Thorn and a student named Grover just threw him off. There were also the two Di'Angelo students that also didn't feel right. All three of them felt like they just didn't belong.
And Shirou was ready with his mind on a gun's hammer.
Overlooking the school dance wasn't too crazy. Most of the teens were too shy to even dance with each other. The hard part to deal with was the teachers. Those women had made a bet to see who could get him to dance with them, and apparently there was an on-going bet to see who could get him to go on a date. Shirou, while only being near 30, was almost unrecognizable as to when he fought in the grail wars. He really resembled his twisted, future self, more than he would like. The only thing that hadn't changed was his eyes, being a golden-bronze instead of Archer's white. And being tall with tan skin, a muscular build, and early white hair, it seemed as though Shirou was a prize to be won. So, not only did he have to deal with the hormones of teenagers, and dealing with feeling like he would be attacked by another mage at any given time, he had to worry most about these teachers pulling him to the dance floor.
Honestly Shirou didn't know if Taiga would be ashamed or proud of him.
In any case, he kept a close eye on everyone around him, discreetly using his structural analysis to keep an eye on the teachers and students. He had done a good job of hiding, until something unexpected happened. He felt three new bodies enter the gym. Three body types let him know they were teens, but their scent let him know that they were new to this school. They felt like the Di'Angelo siblings.
Before he could investigate, and being caught off guard, Shirou was a startled by a teacher grabbing his arm.
"C'mon Shirou, I know you don't want to dance but at least try some of the fruit-punch!"
Shirou shrugged, and pulled his arm away from her, "Fine, but I can walk myself there Kelly." As soon as the words left his mouth, one of the new teens approached him and Kelly. The girl had short black hair and seemed to be on a mission.
"Hello, I think I'm a little lost, can you help me find my friends? There is a girl my age and her little brother?"
Kelly and Shirou had stopped, but it was Kelly who answered her, "I'd love to help you find them sweetie! Can you just let me see your invitation real quick so I can see who invited you?"
This was when things started getting weird, the girl lost all emotion on her face, looked at Kelly and himself, and just said, "Don't you recognize me? My name is Thalia Grace and I've been in your class all year. You couldn't have forgotten that?
Shirou felt something sweep over him, and he wanted to believe her. As if she hadn't just lied to both of them at all. That every word she said was the complete and utter truth. But he knew it wasn't.
'So these kids are mages? How powerful are they, and what magecraft do they specialize in? I have to get them out of here, there is no telling just what they might be planning to do to everyone here.'
Deciding to act quickly, Shirou decided to act like he had fallen under her spell. "Thalia, sorry we didn't recognize you, it must be the lighting in here. I think the Di'Angelo's are in the corner over there, why don't you get the other students who came in with you and meet them? I'm sure they'd appreciate the company!"
"Thank you, sir, I'll be on my way." And with that she promptly left.
"Kelly, I need to go see Dr. Thorn, why don't you grab me a cup of punch and I'll meet you in a few minutes?"
"Sure! But don't keep me waiting!"
Kelly ran to get some punch like Saber ran to get food. But Shirou knew that he wouldn't get a chance to get that cup.
