Dr. Thorn was on edge. He was ever so close to the demigods that he had been tracking. For months. These putrid, little creatures could not hide from him forever. Three demigods had just arrived, and he knew that they were on the trail. This was an important mission for his cause. To destroy the Greek Gods. Yes. Those superficial beings. Always in the way. Always ruining his fun. His hunts. Too many demigods have declared themselves 'heroes' with no purpose other than to kill him, and others like him.
The demigods would suffer. As their parents would suffer.
What better way to find the demigods than to let new demigods find them for him? This strategic play would give him not just dinner, but a feast to savor.
Yes, this would please Dr. Thorn.
He had his suspicions that the Di'Angelo siblings were the demigods he had been hunting. They just smelled too… delicious. The Daughter of Zeus approaching them confirmed this. Perfect. Now he would wait for his prey to regroup and make their move to follow him. No need to kill people here. He couldn't care less about the humans. But the more he killed now than the less… what did the mortals call it… genetic variability that he would have to feast on when Kronos came back. Oh, their different genes made them taste… sweeter. Keep them alive. Save the humans and their offspring for later…
Keeping his eyes on the prize, he was waiting for the satyr and all the demigods to regroup before luring them into a trap with the Di'Angelo children. He had figured the satyr had already made him out, and while he had lost the element of surprise, the Manticore was more than capable of taking out some demigods and a satyr.
As they weren't yet aware of their divinely origins, Dr. Thorn was able to use the mist relatively easily to coerce the Di'Angelos into following him. The Daughter of Zeus noticed him and decided against approaching just yet. She was more dangerous than the Athena spawn or the Son of Poseidon. Her natural intuition wasn't something to be trifled with. He would needed to get out of sight to prepare for the demigods. Before he could, Dr. Thorn was stopped in his tracks by one of the school's teachers.
"Dr. Thorn, while I respect your position as vice-principal, I want to ask you where you are taking those two? The dance just started not too long ago, and those two still need to open up a little bit."
Shirou Emiya. Curse this mortal. The man's intuition was just as sharp as the one held by Zeus's Daughter. The man had unknowingly delayed Thorn's plans for weeks. Anytime he would try to approach the children, that damned Emiya would be there. It was so vexing to be so close.
"Well if you must know, their guardian has contacted us, and he's on his way now to pick the kids up. I am going to meet him outside. Could you please step aside?"
He poured as much mist as he could into that. This mortal had angered him enough, so… just save him for later. These children come first. Just get out of the nice monster's path and let him continue his plan, you mortal.
"Sir, I need to insist they stay inside. It's too cold out there for them to wait for their guardian."
Save him for later. Save him for later. SAVE HIM FOR LATER.
"This is not the time, nor place, for us to argue, children are listening. Step aside now!" Pouring just as much mist, if not more, into the statement, Thorn was convinced he would move. Or at the very least quiver.
But Shirou just stood his ground.
"Okay, I'm not sure what is happening with you, these two, or those other kids who just popped out of nowhere, but I will not allow you to take them anywhere." He left no room for choice. And Thorn could understand Emiya's undertone. You can take them by going through me.
With pleasure then. Shirou has been an annoyance since the beginning. No need to kill him, but as aptly named, one of Dr. Thorn's piercing thorns would be enough to keep him out of his way. Leaning forward with a thorn, he shot one quickly into the mortal's leg. Gravity would ensure the poison spreads slowly, as long as he stayed standing that is.
"What did you just… Wait… what are…" Emiya's voice was flustered. The mortal didn't simply collapse on the ground. Nor did he howl out in pain. As if he had been shot in the leg before. Interesting. This one may make a delectable treat later on. Before Emiya would succumb to the poison, Dr. Thorn called Kelly back over. After using the mist on Kelly, she was but Thorn's puppet, with the soul use of being a crutch for the insufferable man. Shirou Emiya would suffer today. Tonight. Tomorrow. The rest of time. This is what Dr. Thorn would guarantee. Smiling at the white-haired man, the monster led the children away.
Satisfied with the temporary torment, Dr. Thorn walked towards the exit.
