The Wakandan wild has a lot to offer. That's probably why W'Kabi spends more time out here than he does at home...with his serpent-solving harem.
In Wakanda, the Big Five still live. Wakanda virtually breeds them...whereas they'd be endangered elsewhere in Africa.
Here, the white rhino is always in rut. Most rhinos are bulls. Cows dominate crashes. Many have calves, who they never leave. One day, their calves will inherit these crashes...
Elsewhere, the white lion is well-bred, too. Frankly, if I had my way, every lion would be white... (No offense, Africa, but there aren't very many black lions. I'm sure you've noticed.)
Aback an armored black rhino, W'Kabi arrives. He's ready for anything the Wakandan savanna has to throw at him. Or, so he thinks...
One by one, his hunting party arrives. Antoine Triplett rides in aback another rhino. He's taking some time off from the Howling Commandos. He's got a sniper rifle there, in his gear. He's going to try to shoot something long-range. (At this, W'Kabi highly recommends the ibexes.)
Ben Grimm rides in on another rhino...but he doesn't seem to comfy aback it. But then, his rocky parts won't stop chaffing. Grimm will have to make it a point to get the Border Wakandans to add some extra blankets to the saddle, the next time he comes out to do this thing.
Next, Evan Daniels rides in. He's brought along a lot of canteens and goatskins. They're all full of milk. Every two in three is full of chocolate milk. W'Kabi would laugh out loud...if he didn't secretly admire the boy.
Steven Hudak rides in, wearing fire-colored blankets on his rhino. Flamethrowers hang from his rhino's harness. Most look like they're made to connect directly to his Scorcher exosuit. W'Kabi almost didn't recognize Hudak without his suit. But then, if Hudak were any other vigilante, that'd be the point.
Elvin Haliday rides in. He hasn't brought much. But then, W'Kabi imagines he won't need much...
Quentin Beck arrives. W'Kabi didn't recognize him outside of his suit. But then, W'Kabi was half-expecting Beck to come as the president of the NAU. He could fool anyone, after all, into thinking he is.
Luke Cage arrives. As big and powerful as the Power Man is, W'Kabi's almost shocked that Cage isn't breaking that rhino's back.
David Haller arrives. Beck's surprised HE didn't pose as the NAU president while riding in...more so than W'Kabi is, perhaps...
Andrew Garner arrives. He and W'Kabi share a kindred spirit; they both know what it's like to love bitchy and impossible women. W'Kabi's loved Okoye, and Garner's loved Melinda May. Both women are very upset that they weren't invited on this hunt. But then, it's just a good thing that neither one of them is in Bahrain killing children, just to let off the steam...
Garner warns W'Kabi to not tell that joke in front of Melinda. She'll never stop hating it.
Gilgamesh arrives, dressed as Samson. W'Kabi's shocked he's on a rhino, too. He looks like he'd require something bigger.
Hank Hayes arrives. As usual, he's covered in prosthetics and armor. He's got a red light for a left eye. But of course, being a Deathlok has its disadvantages. W'Kabi imagines that he's got a hunting firearm in that prosthetic arm of his.
William Allen rides in. He's covered in rags, and has a hood up. The hood's shadow is so dark, that only a pair of shining yellow eyes are visible. His being is rank with the Carrion virus. Capt. Britain would mistake him for a dementor, if she knew more about wizardry.
Eric Brooks rides in...head shaved and shades on. He's got a pair of katanas hanging from his back, in dual scabbards. He still doesn't think it's a good idea to let down his guard around Deacon Frost for this long... But with luck, this hunt will help get his mind off his vampire-hunting troubles.
Sam Barone rides in. He's brought along a wizard's staff; his hunting weapon, no doubt. W'Kabi sure wouldn't want to see him animate a trophy they take down...
Billy Kitson rides in...as a human. Otherwise, he'd be a steed for someone else to ride. Too bad there aren't any American Indians among the hunting party... Although personally, Kitson would love to see Echo turn up...
Wings shed, Bi-Beast rides in. The hunting party still doesn't understand how he's going to hunt anything with two heads... But then, they all imagine that the Avians, before him, always found a way to make something work...even if none of the rest of them ever had two heads...that the history books are aware of...
Jesse Aaronson rides in. He's got many EMPs in his gear. W'Kabi can't imagine why. Aaronson's virtually a mutant EMP in and of himself...
At last, Tike Alicar rides in. He's brought jugs of acid with him. W'Kabi can't imagine why. Alicar's virtually a mutant jug of acid in and of himself...
At last, the hunting party is all here. Once the final head count is made, and the last straggler arrives, W'Kabi leads the first trek into the wild. He doesn't stay at the lead for long. Trip soon outpaces him...as do Scorcher, Rage, Blade, and Bi-Beast.
This is the first night of the hunt. Rumor has it it'll last all year. Or rather, W'Kabi hopes that it will. At this point in his life, he thinks he's slain every game animal there is to slay in Africa. Hell, he's even been to the Savage Land to take down a few of theirs.
Alas, one of these nights, he'll soon be disappointed. And that's just assuming he'll live long enough to brood...or that a certain trophy he's destined to go after will let him live long enough to do so...
