Chapter summary: The Autobots make what could possibly be the most important discovery ever.

Two days later the Autobots were finally nearing the next space-bridge "Alright team, get ready to disembark once Omega lands" Optimus said.
"You got it Boss Bot" Bulkhead replied.
"Optimus I've been detecting an unusual energy signature for the past hour" Omega spoke up.
Optimus frowned "I see…why did you not mentioned this before?" he asked.
"You know that I always have my sensors on maximum when in flight, I didn't know that the energy signature I had been detecting would be here" Omega replied "but now it is stronger"
Optimus nodded "Alright" he replied.
"Any ideas on what it is?" Ratchet asked.
"That's what's making me uneasy, because I don't know" Omega replied, it was rare for him to feel uneasy, but when he did it was for good reason "whatever it is must be concealed somehow within the asteroid I'm going to land on"
Optimus nodded a little "What do you advise?" he asked.
"Proceed with caution" Omega replied "there aren't any other signals in this particular sector of space, but if I'm detecting it then someone else is bound to at some point"
Optimus nodded "Alright, we'll do that" he replied.
Omega descended towards the asteroid and made a smooth landing, he powered down his engines.
"Sire can you bring up the radar? I'm curious to see where that energy signature is you talked about" Ome said.
A holographic radar showed up on the screen, it showed the asteroid they were on "We are here" Omega replied as he marked the left side of the asteroid with a blue dot "the space-bridge is over here" he marked near the middle of the asteroid with a white dot "and the energy signature I talked about is close-by" he marked a few yards ahead in front of him on the radar with a red dot "as I said it's concealed within the asteroid"
"So…what do we do? Do we see what is it?" Bumblebee asked.
"It's risky since we don't know what it is" Optimus replied "what do you suggest Omega?"
"As you said Optimus, it's risky, but at the same time we need to know what it is" Omega replied before there was a pause "Ome since you're able to fly, you can make a hasty retreat quicker than the others should anything happen once whatever it is is uncovered"
Ome looked a little unsure, but it was clear her Sire trusted her to be alright, and she knew that trust was a big deal for him, the only ones he trusted fully were her and Sigma, so she nodded "I'll try" she said.
"Hey! What about me? I'm the fastest thing on wheels!" Bumblebee blurted out before he could stop himself, he covered his mouth.
"You may have the speed, but not the weapons power needed to blast away the rock" Omega replied.
"That's not my fault! It's the stupid Elite Guard that kicked me out" Bumblebee protested.
"It was your own fault" Omega replied bluntly.
Bumblebee spluttered a little "You don't even know the story!" he retorted.
"You forget that my brother is allied with the Elite Guard, so I know" Omega deadpanned.
Bumblebee soon shut up since he felt he was really pushing his luck with the Guardian and did not want to anger him.
"Before Bumblebee here digs himself a deeper hole, let's find out what that energy signature is" Ratchet said "you alright about doing this Ome?"
Ome was a little nervous about it but nodded.
Omega sent his reassurance to her through the bond "It'll be alright" he assured.
Ome nodded and looked to the others "Let's go and see then" she said and flew up off her seat.
Once outside, Ome warily walked over to where the energy signature was detected, now that she was closer she could detect it herself, she activated the thrusters in her feet and floated up, she then brought out her blasters as she floated closer to a big rock.
"Easy does it Ome" Omega said through the bond.
Ome took a deep breath before she aimed at the rock, then she fired.
The rock was blasted into pieces, a bright glow emanated from a hole inside the asteroid.
"Whoa what is that?" Bumblebee asked.
Ome landed on the ground and retracted her blasters.
Ratchet walked over to take a look, his optics widened at what he saw "By the AllSpark…" he breathed.
"What is it?" Ome asked.
"It's…it's the AllSpark" Ratchet replied.
"AllSpark? But I thought that was a myth?" Bumblebee asked.
"I'm looking right at it! So obviously it's real" Ratchet retorted.
"We can't leave it here" Optimus said.
"Do we bring it with us?" Bulkhead asked.
"It's best if we do, since it's been uncovered it's gonna get detected by others" Optimus replied.
Ratchet carefully picked up the AllSpark "We're gonna have to take this back to Cybertron immediately" he said "it could fall into the wrong hands"
"There's no one else out this way except for us, who else would come after it?" Bumblebee asked.
"Decepticons" Ratchet replied.
"We've not seen any since the Battle of Iacon" Ome said.
"It doesn't mean they are all gone" Omega replied "I never saw Megatron or his lieutenants once during the Battle of Iacon, they could have fled Cybertron for all we know"
"Repairing the space-bridge will have to wait" Optimus said "let's get the AllSpark on board"
Ratchet and Bulkhead carried the orange metal container into the storage area in Omega's alt mode.
Optimus, Ome and Prowl followed them into the ship "Omega get ready for takeoff" Optimus said "how long will it take to get back to Cybertron?"
"It will take at least a week or two to get back, I can't keep my engines at full power constantly with my current condition" Omega replied.
Optimus nodded "Alright, it's better than nothing" he replied since he trusted the Guardian to know his limitations "once we're in the air we need to contact the Elite Guard, Ultra Magnus needs to know about this"
Ome sat down in her seat at the front on the left-hand side.
Omega waited until everyone was seated before he powered up his engines and ascended off of the asteroid, his sensors returned to maximum once he was clear from the asteroid.
"Omega open up a comm channel to the Elite Guard" Optimus said.
"I can contact Sigma, you're more likely to reach Ultra Magnus that way" Omega replied.
Optimus thought on it for a few moments, in the end he trusted Omega's judgement "Alright then Omega, contact Sigma" he replied.
There was silence for a few seconds, then Sigma's voice was heard by everyone on the bridge "Hey Omega, did you reach that space-bridge yet?"
Prowl was a little thrown off at how casual Sigma sounded, maybe Omega had been right after all about the Guardians not being ones for formalities.
"We did but we made a discovery" Omega answered his younger brother's question "is Ultra Magnus with you?"
"I'd just finished my patrol when you called, I'm heading to HQ now to report to him" Sigma replied.
"Good timing" Bumblebee muttered.
Optimus nodded in agreement "Sigma would you mind patching Ultra Magnus in once you see him? It's urgent that we talk to him" he said.
"Oh hi Optimus, didn't realise this was an open channel" Sigma replied, clearly caught off-guard "yeah I'll patch him in in a minute"
"No problem Sigma" Optimus replied.
It was quiet for a minute, then Sigma's voice said "I've patched 'Magnus in"
"What is the situation Optimus?" Ultra Magnus' voice asked.
"We…we found the AllSpark" Optimus replied.
Sigma let out a whistle "How did you find it?" he asked.
"Or better question, where did you find it?" Ultra Magnus added.
"I detected its energy signature, but I didn't know it was the AllSpark" Omega replied "it was concealed within the asteroid I landed on, but once Ome blasted away the rock it was more obvious as to what it was"
"I see, this is a major find" Ultra Magnus replied "we need the AllSpark back on Cybertron"
"That's what we're planning to do" Optimus said "it's going to take a week or two to get back"
"I can't have my engines at full power continuously with my current condition, nor can I use my hyperdrive else it could cause damage to my engines" Omega added.
"Very well" Ultra Magnus replied "bring the AllSpark back to Cybertron as fast as you are able to without damaging your engines, we don't know who could detect the AllSpark during your journey"
"I could go out to him as back-up, I'm in top condition and won't damage my engines from using my warp drive" Sigma offered.
"It's a good idea, however we need a Guardian on Cybertron" Ultra Magnus replied.
"I'll be alright Sigma" Omega assured his younger brother "you know that I'll call you if I need the back-up"
"Well...alright then, be careful out there" Sigma responded, clearly concerned for his older brother and niece.
"We'll be ok Uncle" Ome assured.
After bidding them farewell, Ultra Magnus and Sigma ended the call.
Optimus leaned back in his seat and sighed, he sincerely hoped that they would make it back to Cybertron in one piece.
