A/N:
Edinamabasi: That would make for an interesting alternate version of the manga.
BlackDragon829: Hope your feelings are better now!
Ouchanrrul: Thanks, and here's more from the store!
Makobro23: Well, I'll try, but as I've said now and then, time, energy, and ideas are sometimes hard to come by.
beefygarlic: Here you are!
Leokunn: Thank you.
A.L.S. Thanks, keep up the work on your own story.
So this will be a bit of a weird one. It's a Nagatoro/MHA crossover in a way. You have been warned (or not, if you don't find this idea weird. I've just been binging the MHA anime recently.)
Another lunch period beginning, another lunch period alone beginning.
As he traversed the halls, people left and right bumped into him without offering so much as an apology. But he was used to it. His quirk, Nonexistent, made him as close to...well...nonexistent as he could get without actually fading from existence. Only people he wanted or needed to acknowledge him would be able to see him, along with anyone who actually tried hard enough to notice him.
Because of this, he had grown up as a loner; sitting by himself even when he was surrounded by others. Even his old teachers would forget about or overlook him every now and then. He had hoped UA would be different, but he hadn't held out too much hope. And as expected, every now and then a teacher would simply look right past him as they called his name, not even seeing him the first time they scanned the room.
Slowly, Lunch Rush's Café filled until almost every seat was taken. He had taken his usual seat towards the back and started opening the lunch he brought from home. He had learned even before UA that it was pretty hard to buy anything when the cashiers could hardly perceive your existence.
"Hey there," someone called out. He ignored it, awaiting the target to respond.
"I said, 'hey there'," the person said, slightly annoyed. Hachioji looked up and saw a girl staring at him. Her amber eyes almost dug into his soul, and her hair almost looked like demon horns. Two other girls stood behind her, shooting him somewhat disproving looks.
"S-sorry. Were-were you talking to m-me?" he asked nervously.
"Yeah. Who else would I be talking to? Do you mind if we sit here?" the girl asked.
"Anyone else, I guess," Naoto offered while gesturing for the three girls to sit down. His comment earned a confused "Huh?" from the person addressing him.
"My quirk makes me pretty much unnoticeable. Not many people can actually see me before I go up to them first. I just figured you were talking to someone else," the boy explained.
"That's cool, if not a bit...creepy in a way. But don't you get lonely?"
"All the time. But you get used to it. What's your quirk?"
"Oh, it's Pick-Apart. Basically, I know a person's personally weaknesses after meeting them. Not physical weaknesses, but mental; things about you that you're embarrassed by or don't want others to know." She then leaned in close as a sinister smile took over her face. "For example, I can tell that you read a lot of manga, most of which is riddled with fanservice. But don't worry. Your secret's safe with me," she whispered, then leaned back. The boy turned redder than beets, but shakily kept his composure and continued eating.
"By the way, I'm Nagatoro. And this is Gamo and Yoshi. Gamo can mimic psionic and telepathic based abilities that she's exposed to, and Yoshi can run really fast for short periods."
"Uh, nice to meet you. I'm Hachioji."
"Hmmm. Don't like it. I'll just refer to you as 'Senpai'," Nagatoro replied. "What class are you in?"
"I'm in 2-C. What about you?"
"Yoshi and I are in 1-B, but Hayachi here is in 1-A," Gamo offered.
Naoto just offered a quick "Neat" before falling silent again. Even when the lunch period came to a close, he offered just a faint "Goodbye" to the three girls and walked to his next class.
Finally the end of the day came. After fighting through the slow moving crowds and pushing his way through groups that decided the hallway was the best place to stop dead in their tracks to talk, the loner found himself walking through the main gates.
"Senpai!" a voice he recognized called out. "Wait up!"
The girl from lunch with the amber eyes, Nagatoro if he remembered correctly, ran up from behind then slowed down to match his pace.
"Uh, hey. Don't you have friends to walk home with?" he asked.
"Nah. They have to take a different route. So when I saw you I figured I'd walk with you." She smiled almost maliciously, revealing two slightly oversized canine teeth that almost resembled fangs.
Something in his gut warned him that this was not going to end well. As in, a "That 2-A kid named 'Deku' using his quirk" kind of not well.
"So, what kind of manga do you like to read?"
"Well, I like action-adventure and light romance. Sometimes I read more horror based manga," the teen replied with an attempt to keep his tone level.
"So what about the fanservice-y types? When were you going to mention those?"
"I-I don't know what you mean."
"Sure, sure. It's not like I can already tell everything that embarrasses you or anything. Well, here's my stop. See you around!"
Just before the girl ran off out of his view, he could have sworn he saw a devil tail hanging out from under her school skirt.
A/N: Again, sorry this one took so long. I've been having trouble finding time and energy to write recently. Still, I hope you enjoyed. Have a good one y'all!
