"Its forestry is one of Leaf's greatest attractions." Kakashi was saying.
"I love the colors, sensei," Sakura gushed, eyes wide. She was pulling Naruto from a shopfront selling candy apples. "No, Naruto. We have a mission to get to."
Admonished, Naruto relished in the fact that Sakura was still holding onto his arm.
"Indeed," Kakashi eye-smiled. Though bundled up in thick coats and long scarves, the new autumn air was brisk. It was blowing hard enough and long enough to pull leaves from their branches. This was why they were being commissioned to rake several of the training grounds.
Sasuke was by far the one the most out of his element. He stood in a coat overtop his sweater, a hat on his head, many scarves covering most of his face, and gloves that were hindering his ability to carry his rake. He huffed not for the first time, and Team 7 understood this meant he was complaining about the cold.
Before Sasuke could stop him, Naruto looped his arm through Sasuke's, completing the chain of children. With only token defiance did he resist. Sasuke would be darned to admit that Naruto was an effective heater in this dreadfully cold weather.
The first training ground they stopped at was their own, Number 7. Kakashi bid they start and cracked open his little orange book.
"Sasuke-kun, you really don't do well in the cold, do you?" Sakura said as she began scraping the leaves around her into a neat pile.
"Hm," grunted Sasuke, almost good-naturedly. Despite the cold, he was in a surprisingly good mood, Sakura noticed.
"Race ya, Sasuke-bastard!" called Naruto, bolting across the field, scooping leaves in his wake. Sasuke chased him, and his face morphed into one of determination.
Boys, Sakura chuckled, shaking her head. She did love autumn.
