This is Blood fucking Lust. Nuff said.
The moment Minato woke up in the bed of his room, all hell broke loose. Already beaten and weary from all the shit in the past twenty four hours, the rest of his friends desperately tried to calm him down but nothing was reaching him. They were able to yell over his screams and the pleading no doubt reached his ears but...
Minato was sobbing and screaming from the moment he woke up, nonstop, with no regards for his health or injuries. In fact, he was thrashing around like a madman on his bed, twisting, twisting and quivering violently.
"Calm the hell down!" Junpei pleaded, still holding onto his right arm as Akihiko held his left side. "Dude, calm down, you're safe!"
"He's not listening," Akihiko grunted, tightening the hold around Minato's left arm. "Minato, calm down!"
Nothing reached the mortified blunet and he kept on screaming on the very top of his lungs. The dreadful wails were doing a number on the beaten members of SEES. All of them were gathered around Minato who was still thrashing around wildly on his bed, blood slipping endlessly to the bed sheet because he wasn't staying put and there was no way to heal him.
Mitsuru cringed at the burn in the back of her head. She was absolutely exhausted from all that she went through but she pushed that aside, and kept yelling at the junior to calm down. "Calm down! Minato!"
"He's not listening," Yukari grabbed his shoulders, trying to massage and calm his nerves down but Minato's eyes were still lifeless when she gazed at them from above. "Shit, Minato, answer me!"
"He's gone, Minato," Akihiko whispered. "That damn shadow isn't here anymore. Please down calm!"
Minato started shouting even louder upon Akihiko's words, much to the boxer's surprise. Another wild trash sent the two males flailing backwards and Minato finally sat up on his bed, looking around wildly with tears streaming down his face.
"Minato!" Hamuko finally found her voice again and tackled him back to the bed before he could do anything stupid. He looked ready to jump out of the bed and there was no way she was going to allow that.
"Catch him!" Mitsuru rubbed her temple as Hamuko tried to wrestle the weary blunet back to the bed. She was surprised how easy it was. Minato was barely able to struggle under her weight.
He had grown pathetically weak, so much that even with a broken body, Hamuko was able to hold him down without much trouble.
"Gack," Hamuko pulled away and widened her eyes at the amount of blood on her uniform. The crimson liquid horrified her and the next scream buckled her knees, making her collapse to the ground.
"Shit," Yukari cursed as Minato looked ready to jump out of the bed but fortunately, Junpei was able to grab him and pin him against the bed. The wounds opened up yet again and Mitsuru ordered Akihiko to get some bandages.
"Minato!" Junpei yelled at him again as the blunet struggled and thrashed beneath him, hitting him a bunch of times on his gut and face but the capped teen endured the punches despite the extensive damage on his exhausted body. "Ugh."
"Hamuko, get up!" Fuuka screamed at the redhead who was still staring blankly at the blood. The never-ending screams and wails were doing a number on her mind. She couldn't stop shaking.
"Get up!" Mitsuru forced her to stand and then cursed as Minato finally pushed Junpei away and sat up again. He glanced at his bruised hands for a few moments and started ripping away the bandages, opening up the various cuts and bruises.
Much to everyone's horror, Minato began to bit and rip away at the wounds on his hands and fingers, ripping away the flesh and aggravating the lacerations that he received just minutes ago.
"Stop that," Mitsuru pulled his hands away and Minato thrashed around again, brutally smashing the back of his head against the frame of his bed, opening up a gash on the back that gushed out blood like a waterfall.
Minato did it again, occasioning a sickening sound that made Hamuko freeze just when she was about to get up. As much as she wanted to help him, every time she even sneaked a glance at Minato, numbness flooded into her limbs and brain, it was like the blood-flow got restricted or something.
Minato pushed Mitsuru away and resumed mutilating his own self, clawing, biting his previous wounds, smashing his head against the bed and ripping away his own hair like a man possessed.
"Watch out!" Fuuka yelled as Minato jumped out of his bed and landed head-first on the ground. He immediately stood up and ran for the window, looking to hurt himself further.
Yukari came in the way of his destination and shoved him away. Junpei immediately grabbed a hold of his waist and tried pushing him back towards the bed but it wasn't easy as Minato started struggling to get away, dragging Junpei along with himself.
The screaming and struggling continued from Minato who ended up smashing his head into the wall a couple of times before the capped teen pulled him away, trying his best to put him back to bed but even though Minato was weakened, Junpei found it hard to control him. Every time Minato would scream, Junpei would freeze thinking that he had touched a wound.
Sometimes, he did end up touching the ghastly gashes on his body, felt the sticky wet blood on his fingers and the soft, bruised skin that made it difficult for him to use his full energy, fearful that was hurting Minato more than helping him.
Minato broke free from the hold and ran head-first into the mirror, causing the team to release horrified gasps. The blunet rammed his head into the skin, opening up another wound on his forehead.
"Minato!" Hamuko finally stood up, barely able to hold her gaze on the blue haired male. How the heck was he doing that to himself? It was beyond brutal and the worst thing was, Minato was only screaming, not a single word came out of his lips ever since he woke up.
…. Was he really even there?
Junpei pulled him away and Minato fell on his head with a thud, much to the Junpei's horror. "Buddy, come on!" the capped teen gave a forced smile, barely able to hold his tears in check. As much as Minato disgusted him a few months ago, he couldn't bear to see someone like this.
Yukari and Fuuka grabbed a hold of his arms and Mitsuru came back moments later, holding a few pills in her palms. "Hold him down!" Hamuko soon joined the three and kept him glued to the wall. She glanced at his eyes and her grip slipped away.
Minato yelled out loud directly in her face, gazing into her soul with his vacant eyes and knocking the breath away from her lungs. Hamuko started shaking again, her grip worsening by every passing second. "Ugh…" the guilt and grief flared up in her chest and the redhead fell backwards, literally crawling away from the broken teenager.
"Tch, Hamuko," Junpei snapped. "What the fuck are you doing!?" he couldn't believe it. She hadn't done a damn thing to help her boyfriend. She wasn't even standing, just sitting on the ground like a lost child while the rest struggled with Minato.
Mitsuru gave a stern look to Hamuko and shoved the pill down Minato's throat. It was nasty but that was the only way.
Yukari pumped his chest, forcing him to swallow. Her vision blackened momentarily but she kept holding him down. "Come on, swallow it!"
Fuuka gave Junpei a glass of water which the latter shoved down Minato's throat, forcing him to gulp down the pills.
Minato knocked the glass away and spat away the pills before flipping himself over and dragging his bruised hands all over the wooden floors. He pulled his head up and started to slam it repeatedly against the floor with no restrain, occasioning several cracks on the surface.
Akihiko kicked the door open and dropped the bandages upon seeing the carnage. Hamuko was cowering in the corner while the rest were struggling to contain Minato.
"Akihiko, knock him out!" Mitsuru ordered.
"Don't you dare!" Hamuko found her voice.
Mitsuru turned to her junior with an icy glare. "You haven't done a single useful to help Minato. Keep quiet and let us handle this one."
"Really…" Akihiko clenched his fists.
"This is the only way, he'll kill himself like this," another mad thrash later, the three persona users were sent crashing into the walls. Akihiko chewed on his bottom lips and took Minato down, holding him against the ground by one hand.
He held the other up as Minato struggled beneath him but the fatigue and pain was catching up to him. Still, he was shouting loudly with so much force that every scream was accompanied by blood droplets.
"Sorry…" Akihiko whispered and smashed his left fist into the soft stop on Minato's temple, finally knocking the fool out who released a final scream of horror before collapsing to the ground.
Akihiko panted and stood up, only to wince after observing his worsened condition. He focused his gaze on the cowering redhead and shook his head.
Yukari collapsed to the ground seconds later, beyond drained from all the shit that happened in the past 48 hours.
Mitsuru steadied herself against the wall and Fuuka started sobbing next to her.
Junpei removed his cap and helped Akihiko with lifting Minato up. The two carried him over to the bed and gently rested him down before pulling the blanket over him.
Hamuko got up on shaky legs and wobbled her way towards the exit, not stopping at the shouting of her friends. She needed a place to cool off and stay the hell away from Minato. She kicked the door open and ran down to the lounge.
"She's not right at all…." Yukari muttered. He ended up yelling at Hamuko a couple of times because she was so freaking useless but she couldn't fault her.
"You're right," Junpei sighed, rubbing the back of his head. "But man…. She should do something…"
Mitsuru pushed herself off the wall and walked out without a word. She still had to attend a meeting early morning, even with all the chaos going on IN the dorm.
"I'll run to the store and grab a few tranquilizers," Akihiko said, turning around. "He'll be out for a while but we can't leave him alone and awake…. He'll kill himself like this."
"Yeah," Yukari grabbed the first-aid kit and the bandages and made her way over to Minato, patching out the grotesque looking wounds. His school uniform was burned and cut at various places, not to mention it smelt like blood and vomit. "He needs a change of clothes too…."
"Junpei, can you do it?" Akihiko scratched the back of his head, somewhat expecting the capped teen to refuse but to his surprise, Junpei nodded.
"Sure, you should get going, hurry up with those tranquilizers," Junpei said, taking fresh clothes out of Minato's closet. He was going to undress a guy and then change his clothes but he was past caring at this point. Minato was a friend in dire need of help. He had half a mind to ask Hamuko but he knew she'd refuse.
Yukari kept patching his wounds and Junpei removed his jacket and shirt, putting on a clean t-shirt. The two teens winced at the wounds but they kept working, not minding the smell and blood.
Fuuka stood up and ran up the stairs but to her dismay, Hamuko had locked herself up in her room and wasn't responding. The teal hair girl hung her head low and walked over to her own room, collapsing onto the bed.
Mitsuru placed her head against the pillow and shut her eyes, hoping for a few minutes of sleep.
Akihiko struggled to keep his body functioning as he raced towards the mall.
Junpei and Yukari ended up passing out at the side of Minato's bed.
"It'll be alright," Ken said, patting the whimpering canine. The two were forced to listen to the screams coming from upstairs. Ken couldn't believe that Minato of all people was screaming like that. He could feel the despair behind the vibrations. Hell, even Ken himself didn't scream as helplessly after the death of his mother.
"Minato-senpai…" Ken rubbed his eyes, still petting Koromaru's head, trying to calm the canine and himself down.
Hamuko was curled up against the door of her own room, still caked in Minato's blood. It made her nauseous but she made no effort to get up and change her clothes. Her legs weren't there anymore; all the screams coming from Minato drove her nuts.
He had yelled out in pain before but this was something else. Earlier, Minato's yells always carried vengeance, like he wanted to get up and dismantle the son of a bitch for hurting him, this time…. There was nothing but grief and despair bundled into the shouts.
She hated herself for just sitting there, gaping in horror as the blunet thrashed around. She fully understood the lashing out she got from her team mates but if only they knew. They knew shit compared to her.
"Death…." Hamuko barely stood up, only to collapse face first a few steps later. "You destroyed him…" she wanted the damn demon out of his system but she NEVER wanted this to happen to Minato. He was left a shell of his former self and Hamuko doubted he could ever be a normal human being again.
The redhead glanced at her hands and cursed her own weakness. "What am I supposed to do!?" it wasn't her fault, the circumstances were like this. Hell, anyone would have shut down after going through all that.
"What. The. Fuck!" Hamuko cursed loudly, hoping that her shout reach the idiots downstairs. They had no freaking idea! Only she did.
Eventually, she collapsed to her own bed with a defeated sob and soon, the female fool slipped into a deep slumber which was plagued with nightmares regarding the darkened version of Minato.
Akihiko raced back to the dorm in record time and gave Minato a couple of heavy sedatives, somewhat calming down his breathing and forcing him into a deep sleep. He woke up the two juniors and the trio stumbled down the steps, taking care of their own wounds.
"How is he…?" Ken dared ask as Akihiko came down the steps.
"Not good…" the boxer replied, wiping away the sweat on his forehead before burying his head into his palms, frustrated and tired beyond belief. "Dammit, we just can't catch a goddamn break!"
Yukari rubbed her right arm. "We need to do something about Minato…" it was strange but Yukari had forgotten about her own problems. The nightmares of her father causing the Dark Hour were no longer there, Minato's condition was on her mind and it was paining her much like the previous demons did.
"Man, I can't believe that's really him," Junpei sighed. "I swear I've never seen anyone cry hard like that."
"We need to take turns to check him," Akihiko said. "We can't let him mutilate himself any further-"
"Mutilate!" Ken gasped, eyes widening upon the word. "W-What are you talking about!?"
Fuuka stepped down the stairs with a disc in hand. She glanced at the team and sighed. "Hamuko is refusing to come out."
"Shit," Junpei cursed.
"You can't really blame her…. She really loves him you know?" Yukari said.
"I know that but…. Minato needs her right now," Junpei bit his lip. "I know, she's broken up but she's the one who can heal him. Remember the time when Minato attacked us and nothing reached him? Hamuko brought him to his senses with a few words. She needs to be there, dammit!"
"I do agree that she can heal his wounds but this isn't as easy like the last time," Akihiko said. "Something that scarred his mind badly…. This is worse than a normal breakdown."
"Minato needs to come to his senses…. Otherwise, I don't see a way he can live…" he said with a grimace on his face. "And I don't know who can bring him back. Hamuko can't even look at him straight."
"That bastard had a hand, I'm sure," Yukari said.
"Maybe…" Fuuka said. "That thing was coming out from inside Minato. He isn't a shadow that's for sure…. But what does that make him?"
"I have no idea," Akihiko rested himself on the couch. "Just give a couple of minutes to rest, I'll be back up and watch over him, alright?"
"I'll watch over him for now," Yukari stood up.
"Yukari, wait!" Fuuka followed her up the steps, the disc still in her grasp.
Junpei sunk into the couch, asking Ken to get him a glass of water. He gulped it down and sighed peacefully. He was exhausted but there was no way he was going to leave Minato alone. "Just a few minutes…. I'll go back there."
…
Sho steadied himself on the tree and looked ahead. Thankfully the window was open and he could get a clear view…. And it was far from what he wanted to see.
Minato was motionless in his bed, eyes glazed over, like he was drugged beyond his mind. A butt load of pills and shot injections were on the side table next to him.
Yukari was sitting next to him, staring at him intently.
"What the fuck happened to him!?" Sho clenched his fist. What the heck happened to the relentless warrior!? What happened to the guy who had kicked his ass!?
The redhead edged closer, getting a better view. Minato's head was cracked open at various places and he was heavily bandaged but despite that, the blood wasn't stopping. He could also see the broken frame of his bed.
"…. He did that to himself?" Sho blinked. Really? He abused himself? But why?
"Minato…" Sho couldn't believe the despair bubbling in his chest. It pained him to see someone so great like that, someone he respected a ton beaten like that. "What happened to you, man…"
His mind went back to the darkened dude he saw at the gates. He was able to witness it all. Minato coming out and then losing his shit and then getting dragged away by the shadowy looking thing, he was able to escape with Jin before he smashed the annoying nerd into the ground and left him for dead.
"That insolent bastard!" Sho cursed, swearing to put the shadow through hell for what he did to Minato. How the heck was he able to fight in such a condition!?
"…. Get well soon," Sho jumped down from the tree and disappeared into the darkness of the night.
"Damn, I should have killed Jin…." he was a little concerned about the nerd attacking the defenseless teen but… "Eh, his friends won't let him…. Right." he nodded. Bonds and all.
…
Hamuko finally stepped out from her room, somewhat relieved because the shouts had died down for the past few hours. Still, she was quivering in her boots because of the fear that the shadow was coming for Minato's life.
The female fool took a few steps and was ready to get down the steps when someone called out her name from behind. She flinched slightly and turned around to face the Ice Queen who was clad in a business suit, probably getting ready for the meeting.
"Hamuko…" Mitsuru sighed and the junior immediately held her hands up.
"I don't want to hear anything," Hamuko replied.
Mitsuru's brow twitched a tad bit. "Oh really?" she took a deep breath. Lashing out wasn't going to work and she wanted to avoid the cracks in the team. "Look, you need to be with him…"
"…"
"You are the only one who can help him, like you always have," Mitsuru continued. "He needs you right now, do you understand?"
Hamuko nodded dumbly and before Mitsuru could speak further, the smaller readhead was already racing down the staircase, much to Mitsuru's ire. Was she running away? Minato never ran away. He kept standing in front of her and took the problem head on.
"Tch…" she opened up her cell-phone and called her driver. Hopefully, nothing bad was going to happen.
Before leaving, Mitsuru called the entire team for a brief meeting. Yukari made sure Minato was asleep before she left him and gathered up with the team on the lounge.
"I won't be back until night," Mitsuru said. "Can you stay awake till then?"
"No problem," Akihiko said, sitting up right. His wounds were finally healing up and the few hours of rest did help a lot with the fatigue.
"Me too," Junpei said. "Take care of your business."
"Hamuko, what about you?" Mitsuru eyed the unfocused female fidgeting on the couch.
"Well, y-yeah," Hamuko nodded slowly, looking around wildly, like she was fearful or something.
"Why are you so afraid?" Fuuka said.
"That damn shadow might come at any moment, don't you remember his words?" Hamuko replied.
"I expect you to fight when he does get here," Mitsuru scolded. "Stop shaking. I told you that Minato needs you, he will die if you just-"
"Shut up!" Hamuko pulled on her bangs, glaring harshly at the heiress. "Just shut up for a moment!"
"You dammed fool-" Mitsuru was seconds away from executing her but Yukari came between them, whispering "let it go' in Mitsuru's ear and guiding het towards the door. The two stepped out from the dorm and Mitsuru took in a deep breath.
"Calm down," Yukari sighed. "You can't say too much to her-"
"I know, I apologize," Mitsuru rubber her arm, thinking back to Hamuko's breakdown a couple of months ago. She wanted to avoid another scene like that. She had so much to say to the shivering redhead but she couldn't bring herself up to say that. She feared the consequences greatly. "Takeba, you have seen Minato rush to her aid no matter the amount of pain he was in…."
"I know," the brunette said. "Hamuko is my best friend…. But she isn't Minato. She's nowhere near as mentally or physically strong…"
Mitsuru rested herself against the pillar and sobbed.
Yukari smiled slightly, getting closer and patting the senior on her back. "Take care, alright, senpai?" she said soothingly, much to the redhead's surprise.
"T-Takeba?" Mitsuru muttered.
"When this clears up," Yukari hummed. "When Minato comes back and destroys that shadow, I need you and I need to have a talk…"
"…"
"I mean, we are team mates, right? Have to know each other better,"
Mitsuru finally smiled and chuckled. "Right, I look forward to it. Farewell…." she bid her goodbye and walked over to the limo.
Yukari stepped back into the lounge and was surprised to see Hamuko glaring at the rest. "You want to say something too?"
Junpei and Akihiko shook their heads and Fuuka ran into the kitchen.
"Good," Hamuko snapped, irritated from the little spat with Mitsuru. She stomped once and kicked the nearby sofa before heading for the steps.
Yukari joined the two males. "Thanks for keeping your mouth shut. I have no idea what she'd do."
"I get it, I got slapped a couple of months ago, so did senpai…" Junpei said.
"Don't remind me…" Akihiko exhaled. That time was a lot better now that he thought about it. Sure Minato was out for their lives but this was just a nightmare.
…
Hamuko stopped on the second floor and gathered up her courage. She looked at the far end of the floor and slowly made her way over to the last room. Minato wasn't screaming so maybe it was a good time to check up on him, pet his head or something. Hell, even watching him breathe was enough for Hamuko.
She dragged herself over to his room and worked up the courage again, pushing away the visions and fears in the back of her mind. She needed to be strong. Who knows, maybe she could bring him back to his senses like she did before.
"I can and I will," Hamuko nodded to herself and turned on the knob. Minato needed her and she really wanted to hug him, maybe that would give her a little peace, knowing he was safe in her arms-
The cheerful thoughts were knocked by the despair that seeped into her mind just when she opened the door to find Minato lying lifelessly on the floor, blood leaking out from the fresh wound on his arms.
Hamuko clasped her mouth shut but couldn't hold in the shout for more than a few seconds. The redhead erupted with a huge shout and pulled herself backwards, smashing into the door behind her.
"Minato!" Hamuko ripped away the strands of her own hair, begging the blunet to get up but Minato was still lying like a dead man near the sink. He had ripped his arms from the shoulder all the way to his wrists. What the fuck!? Why would he do something to himself!?
"Minato!" Hamuko could feel her vision blackening. The last thing she saw was Yukari crouching down next to Minato and helping him stand up.
"…"
Junpei eyed the passed out female and rubbed his eyes. Hamuko was no Minato after all; she didn't have the mental fortitude to push through nightmares like Minato did.
"Shit…" Akihiko didn't know what to do. Minato had taken self-mutilation to a whole different level. This was beyond brutal.
"I shouldn't have left him alone," Yukari sobbed, putting him back on the bed.
Akihiko grabbed the pills and tranquilizers again. He slid in a far heavier drug and bit his lip. There was no way he could inject Minato on his arms.
Junpei pulled on his shirt and barfed upon seeing more fresh gashes on his gut.
"Damn it all!" Akihiko cursed, pulling the syringe away. Where the heck could he inject the drug?
In the end, Akihiko ended up injecting Minato on the side of his stomach. The drug was strong enough that Minato slipped into a coma of sorts, for sure knocked out for the next few days which was good because he needed the goddamn rest.
"He'll be out for a few days," Akihiko said, putting the injection away.
…
"Minato…." The Dark Hour hit the world and the dreadful shadow of Minato stepped out from the access point, determined to find the accursed teen and punish him further.
He lumbered his way out of the tower and headed towards the sea side of the city, all the while whispering something under his breath.
Hamuko woke up with a jolt upon hearing a crash. She jumped out of bed, yelled at everyone to run towards his room and ran out like a bat out of hell.
She pushed past Akihiko and screamed out in terror upon witnessing a trial of blood that led to the shattered window. Minato was gone!
"You told me he'd be out!" Hamuko directed her fury at the boxer. "You goddamn liar!"
Akihiko brushed her insult off and pull out the bladefists from his pocket. "Come on! We need to hurry!"
Junpei grabbed his evoker and followed him out of the dorm.
Mitsuru shook her head at Hamuko and followed the two males.
"Come to me…" the shadow whispered with a shit eating grin, standing next to the salty sea. "Come to me for your punishment…"
"You know you deserve it…"
"You know you want it…"
Minato limped forward, headed right for the destination like a man possessed. "Forgive me now…"
All the chaos was happening outside the tower but an adult in his late 30s was unfortunately inside the tower, drawn in by the voices of the shadow.
This time, something far more horrific than a shadow was lurking in the tower, hungry for blood. The fear reeking off the being was so great that even the Reaper, the guardian of the tower was quaking and stayed away.
"…" the black haired teen kept staring at his hands before looking up at the victim, giving him a heated glare that instantly silenced the adult and forced his heart to stop beating.
"Piece of fucking shit," the teen cursed, crouching down and sniffing the dead body. A cruel smirk slid into his features. He couldn't wait to satiate his….
