Hosu City, Later That Night

Deku and Stain spent the rest of last night catching up with all that's happened since they've last seen one another and generally enjoying each other's company.

"So that's what your 'prior engagements' were" Stain said with a chuckle.

"Yep" Deku replied with a smile on his face.

Deku and Stain were in an abandoned building that Stain renovated into a hideout for his nightly activities, then Stain spoke up and said "Hey, it's morning, maybe we should get some sleep?"

"Eh, why not" Deku replied with a slight yawn.

THE NEXT EVENING

"Wanna go out to get some food, I know a good place" Stain said with a small smile on his face.

"Sure, I'll pay for it" Deku said as they both went to change into civilian clothing and head out to an underground bar located in the shadier parts of town.

The Bar

Stain and Deku were in a booth, sharing a bowl of chips with condiments on the side. While taking a few chips and biting the tips off of them Deku said "So I saw in the news recently that you took down Ingenium, I heard that he won't be able to walk again."

Stain looked down with a slight frown and said softly "Yeah, the thing is he seemed like he just wanted to help people. I regret stopping him from doing so."

Deku nodded in acknowledgement, he also knew that Ingenium's brother Ida would probably be angry.

They kept talking until a large man and a small group waked up to the two of them and said in an arrogant voice "That's my booth your in"

"So?" Deku said annoyed.

"Move It!" The angry man demanded.

"What if we don't?" Stain said with a small smirk on his face.

"Then we'll make you" The man said, his friends laughing as Deku and Stain looked at each other, understanding what the other thought.

FIVE MINUTES LATER

The man and his friends were unconscious on the floor with both Stain and Deku standing over them, looking victorious with small traces of blood on their fists.

"Well I think we've made our point, shall we leave?" Deku said to Stain, who smirked and replied,

"Yeah, I think we should"

The two left the bar and returned to Stain's hideout, when Stain said "This has been nice, but I think it's time we depart again."

Deku knew this was coming and said "Sure, but I enjoyed myself. how about we try to make a habit of this?"

Stain thought for a moment, he did enjoy having someone to talk to, his crusade left little in the terms of friends, "Sure, why not" he said with a genuine smile.

Deku then left, walking to the train station to get back to L.O.V. headquarters, but when he was halfway there he heard an explosion and saw a blast coming from a nearby park. Intrigued, Deku started walking towards the noise and saw that it was a group of heroes, including Endeavour fighting a group of Nomu "Odd" was all that Deku could think of, he hadn't heard of an attack coming up. "Maybe it's one of Shigaraki's last minute schemes or something" Deku thought to himself, but then he heard the slightest scream amongst the many, coming from an alleyway approximately two blocks away.

"Suppose I might check it out" Deku thought, curiosity seemed to take over and he walked to the screams.

What he saw next was shocking, it was Stain standing over Tenya Ida, a U.A. student that he remembered from the sports festival. Deku also notices pro hero Native lying against the wall, he was bleeding. Deku looked back at Stain, he was about to go in for the kill, suddenly Deku shouted,

"Stain, NO!"

Both Stain and Ida were shocked to hear that, Stain looked past his desired victim to see Deku standing at the end of the alley, a look of shear determination on his face.

Stain then said "Get out of here Deku, I have work to do", but Deku still stood there and taking one step forward.

"Stain, I respect your crusade, but he's a kid, that's too far." Deku said slightly cautiously as he saw Ida shutter at their conversation, still unable to move due to Stain's quirk.

Stain stared at Deku for a second then snapped out of it saying "He attacked me first, purely out of vengeance. Unfitting for a hero in training, don't you think?"

Deku thought about this, then he spoke "Yes, going out for revenge is very unheroic, but like I said, he's a kid, he has time to change. Give him that chance, don't make me fight you on this".

Stain thought for a moment, when he got a fierce and determined look in his eyes and replied "You should have gone back Deku, I promise I won't hurt you too bad".

Stain shoved Ida to the side as Deku got into a fighting stance. Both stared at the other for a minute, until Stain drew his knives and charged at Deku who in turn leaped into the air, dodging the knife attacks and swung his leg to kick Stain in the side. Stain tried to jump out of the way, but didn't make it time and ended up being flung back into the wall slightly winding him. Deku followed up with a punch, that Stain dodged, so Deku punched the wall crumbling the wall from the impact.

Ida and Native could only watch as the two fought for their lives, shock was expressed all over their faces and Ida fought his hardest in order to get up and fight.

Stain was surprised by Deku's skills, "I taught him well" Stain thought as he dodged punches and kicks trying to find an opening in his opponent's fighting style. Deku kept going and going as Stain leaped to avoid the barrage of attacks until, he managed to slice Deku's leg drawing a minimal amount of blood. Seizing this opportunity, Stain licked the blade which caused Deku to freeze in place and collapse onto the ground. Stain sighed as he watched his close ally fall, then he turned back to Ida as he said to Deku,

"You fought well, nice to see you remembered your training. But unfortunately this was going to be the outcome, once my quirk wears off on you, I'll take you to the train station, but until then..." Stain walked slowly towards the still frozen Tenya Ida, when he was caught off guard by Deku who delivered a swift kick to his back. "Damn, he must have type O blood" Stain thought to rationalize Deku's sudden freedom from his quirk. As he was caught off guard, Stain had little defence from the fierce attacks coming from his pupil and was shortly put down to his last legs.

"Sorry Stain, but I just can't let you do this" Deku said affirmatively as he stood his ground, Stain knew that he was beat, Deku had unlocked a technique that was taught to him, Surveillance, a state of mind where one can focus all of their attention into their attacks causing them to put much more power and speed into their attacks.

Stain was starting to tire from the fight, but he wouldn't back down, even if he was defeated, he would be glad that it was Deku who did so. "The student has become the master" Stain muttered softly to himself so that no one other than himself would be able to hear him.

Stain ran to Deku, who did so as well as they leaped into the air, the both of them swinging their legs going for massive kicks and when they collided it send a shockwave that was felt all the way in the park, where Endeavour and a group of other pro-heroes were battling a few Nomu's.

Endeavour thought frustrated "What was that?" as his flames burned brighter incinerating the Nomu into dust, he then yelled at the fellow heroes in the area, "We should go check that out".

Stain was on kneeling as he desperately tried to catch his breath, while Deku was standing also breathing heavily. Native and Ida were staring intensely at the two figures, when they heard the sound of running coming close to them, that's when Deku spoke up,

"Stain, we need to leave!"

But Stain just stayed there which confused Deku, "What are you doing?!" he shouted as the footsteps grew larger.

"Stain thought for a moment then spoke, "No, my race is run, I did my best, but you have surpassed me. Go, go and be better than me" Deku was stunned before slowly nodding and running further into the alleyway past Stain before Ida spoke up,

"Wait!" Deku stopped and turned to face him "Why? Why did you save me?" Ida asked.

Deku thought about this before answering, "You're too young to die, just don't waste this second chance" then he ran off into the darkness just before the heroes arrived.

A FEW HOURS LATER

L.O.V. Headquarters

Deku, entered the bar as he saw Shigaraki and Kurogiri there in their usual positions, before Shigaraki spoke up,

"Well, well, well, you're finally here."

Deku nodded as Tomura continued, "Suppose you haven't checked the news recently?". Shigaraki then passed Deku a phone with a video playing, it was Stain a few moments after the heroes arrested him.

The video played with Stain saying, "The false heroes of this world will pay, even if I am in prison. There are others who will stand up for true justice, like Deku, he see's the evil in all of us, that's why he stopped me today, HE IS WORTHY!"

Deku stopped the video, Stain had thought so highly of him, without another word Deku walked up to his quarters and passed out as soon as he landed on his bed.
