It was early morning in the kingdom of Mewni. Bright day, birds chasing each other around in the trees, servants, and cooks getting ready for the day, and the citizens down below bustling around. The sun was shining in through the open window, lighting up the room with morning light, with a slight fall breeze blowing the curtains around. Suddenly there came a soft knock at the door.
"Time to get up your highness, you need to get ready today is a busy day", whispered from the slightly ajar door.
Star Butterfly woke up and opened up her eyes in her perfectly kept bed. Her hair was just in the way she left it when she fell asleep. Getting up out of her barely wrinkled bed and she started to get ready for the day. After her morning stretches she went to her bathroom to take a nice warm bath already prepared by her servants. While relaxing in the warm, soapy water, her mind started to wander.
She wasn't always this perfect princess she was now. She used to be an adventurous, risk-taking, and trouble-making girl. Fighting every monster she could find. But after she accidentally set fire to the royal kitchen when she was 9. Her parents sent her to her worst nightmare... St. Olga's School for Wayward Princesses.
She spent 4 years of her life in that prison slowly driving away that once risk-taking girl becoming the perfect stamp mold princess everyone wanted her to be. She knew now that she could never go back to the version of her. She needed to be the best princess she could be.
She lifted herself out of the bath to start drying herself off. She put on her big poofy blue dress. It had big poofy shoulders and had small pink crystals along the hem of the dress.
This dress was mainly only for Balls and special occasions. Which today was...
Star made her way down the spiral staircase that led to the royal dining room. Where her mother and father were waiting.
She paused when she reached the railing. Normally in the past, she would have ridden on top of the railing to land right near her seat but she was no longer like that. She looked away and started her graceful descent. Perfect posture head up high just like the perfect princess she was.
She sat down in her seat with her mother on her left and her father on her right.
"Morning Father", looking at him then turning her head towards her mother, "Morning Mother".
"Morning deary," said her father in response with her mother immediately after with "Morning my star."
She looked down at her breakfast and saw something strange. She saw a weird circular bread disc covered in some sort of sauce. She looked up to her parents with a slight face of confusion.
"What are these...things Mother?", Star asked in confusion. "They are called pancakes, dear. We just thought we should try to get you used to the food you would be eating when you leave." her mother responded. Star widened her eyes at her mother's response but quickly fixed back to her emotionless face.
"W-What do you mean?", she stammered, still keeping her calm tone. "Well as you know today is your 14th birthday." Her Father responded.
This was the reason why Star dressed up today. Today was the day she was gonna receive the royal family heirloom... The magic wand.
"We want to make you sure you are safe when training. So we decided to send you somewhere safer." said her mother, breaking her out of her thoughts.
"...Where are you sending me?", Star asked hesitantly.
.
.
.
"Earth."
It was 6:30 A.M. and the alarm started to ring its loud annoying beeping. Suddenly a hand comes in and smashes the snooze button.
"What's thirty more minutes..."
.
.
.
A loud banging on the door made him jolt awake. Marco Diaz rolled over and looked and the clock was 6:50 A.M.
"Ugh can't even get 30 minutes," he grumbled as he rolled out of bed.
"MARCO UBALDO DIAZ YOU ARE GONNA BE LATE TO SCHOOL!" he heard his mom yell from the other side of the door.
"..whatever.." he muttered, "COMING!"
Marco walked over to his drawers grabbing his grey shirt, red hoodie, skinny jeans, black skinny jeans, and his leather jacket. He quickly threw them on and while on his way out of his room he grabbed his black fingerless gloves off his nightstand shoving them into his pockets.
He made his way downstairs hoping to avoid his mother. Unfortunately, he got grabbed by the hood and had a piece of toast shoved into his mouth.
"Have a good day at school sweetie. Don't cause any trouble," she said as she kissed him on the cheek. "Love you". Marco blushed slightly and whispered "love you too," as he ran out the door.
As soon as he was around the corner he pulled his gloves out and put them on making his way to school.
[Time Skip to him arriving at school]
As soon as he arrived at school he saw his three favorite people. Janna Ordonia, a kind of a freak and was into weird stuff but a good friend either way, next to her was Osckar Greason, a ladies man he was always surrounded by girls trying to sit next to him during class but he paid no attention all he cared about was his music on his keytar. This was one of the reasons I became friends with him. He was pretty good actually.
And finally the best looking of the three of them. Jackie Lynn Thomas. She was Marco's girlfriend. She had bleached blond hair with a real strip to one side. She always had her seashell necklace and her teal skateboard. They started dating after Marco's. . .change.
"So what's up guys," Marco said as he walked up.
"Look who showed up, we all thought you ditched again," said Oscar when Marco got to them.
"Nah, if I ditch again I'll never get Skeeves off of me," as he leaned in to kiss Jackie.
"Alright, you love birds let's get to class. We already know is gonna be like YoU cAn'T bE LaTe AgAiN," Janna said mockingly, breaking the two up.
All four of them were laughing as they walked into the school.
[Time Skip to the third period cause you know classes are boring]
Marco had his head down trying to sleep because of the class he was in. He had science 3rd hour and was totally bored out of his mind. The teacher was going on..on. They were learning about how magnets are attracted to their total opposites.
"Ugh", he thought, "this is gonna be a long hour." Putting his head back down.
Star Butterfly was saying her last goodbyes to her mother and father before she had to go.
"Bye Mother bye Father," trying to hold back tears she gave up saying mother or father because she was too sad to try.
"Bye dear," her father learned to kiss her cheek clearly on the brink of tears.
Her mother on the other hand kept her calm look and poise. But to Star, she could clearly see her mother was upset.
"You be safe, ok? Make sure to call every day, we love you" her mom said to her close to crying.
"I will mom don't worry, love you too," Star said sadly. Star was shocked when her mother told her she was leaving. She thought she had done something bad again to be sent back... there, but she hadn't expected this.
"Your majesty, the carriage is all packed and ready to go," a servant said, going into a deep bow. Star hugged her parents one last time and got into the carriage. She heard her father say, "Open the portal." She felt the carriage start to move. As she went through she whispered to herself, "Bye Mewni."
After she went through and the portal closed, Queen Moon looked to her husband, "Oh River, I don't know if we are doing the right thing."
A carriage pulls through a big portal from out of nowhere. Out steps Star Butterfly taking in her new surroundings. She sighed a depressed sigh missing her home already. She read the sign that said Echo Creek Academy. She starts walking into the strange building in front of her. She hoped this was the right place.
Before she left she was told by her parents to go in and talk to some man called the 'principal'. She was so confused by this but she did what they said anyway.
She looked around and couldn't see anybody. "What kind of place was this," she thought. She looked around for twenty minutes and finally found it in the principal's office.
"All right class, time to pass out the ho..." she said being cut off by the loudspeaker.
"MARCO DIAZ TO THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE. MARCO DIAZ TO THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE." it blared.
Marco jolted up trying to think what he did this time. He grunted as he got out of his chair. At least he could get out of this class. He looked around at everyone staring at him. "What you looking at," he snapped as everyone looked back down to their papers. He smiled lightly.
"Might as well head down there. Don't want Skeeves getting his panties in a bunch," he chuckled.
Star was sitting back straight and chin up waiting patiently in the quiet room. Then suddenly she heard a bang as the door opened to see a boy walk in. He had brown hair, brown eyes, had a red sweater, and a black leather jacket. He looked kind of. . .cute.
Star quickly looked away blushing when he saw the boy look at her. She realized she was staring.
"Yeah, what did I do this time Skeeves?" the boy asked. The principal responds with, "Nothing yet Marco Diaz, but that's not why I called you here. I would like you to meet our newest foreign exchange student. Star Butterfly."
Marco looked at the girl sitting in the office. He noticed the dress she was wearing was a bit overkill. Her hair was done in a ponytail with a ribbon done in a bow. When he saw her face he saw two hearts, one on each cheek, she had big blue eyes and a pretty smile..."wait, what am I thinking," he thought to himself, turning away.
"Nice to meet you," he muttered, still not understanding why he was there.
"Is this all you needed me for, in that case, I'll be going," Marco said, turning around "No that's not all, you were late today for the first period..." Marco rolled his eyes..." so as a punishment I'm having you take Star here on a tour of the school," the principal finished. Marco looked like he was about to say something back but gave up. "Ugh whatever, come on princess" he grunted as he marched out the room.
Just before leaving Star turned around and said to the principal "I also need a place to stay." "Already done here is the address to the family you will be staying with," he said as he gave her a piece of paper. "Welcome to Echo Creek Academy."
