[A week later]
Star got up bright and early as she normally did. She got up and did her morning stretches. It was Saturday which was apparently a day where she didn't go to school.
Star made her way to Marco's room and slowly opened the door peaking inside. "Marco are you up?" she said quietly waiting for a response. When she didn't get a response she decided to wake him up with force. She walked up to his bed and jumped on his back.
"Marco wake up," she said louder shaking his shoulders.
"Aaaahh," Marco yelled knocking Star off of him as he fell off his bed too. Marco opened his eyes and started to groggily say, "Princess you could at lea-" He stopped he realized he was on top of Star. Their faces were close to each other, noses almost touching.
Marco stood up quickly pushing himself away from Star turning himself around to hide his blushing. Star picked herself up speaking clearly embarrassed, "I tried to wake you up but you didn't so I decided to try another way."
"You could have simply shaken my shoulder lightly," Marco respond a bit harshly to hide his embarrassment. "Well I'm going to get ready," Star said heading to her room.
After Star left the room Marco stood there wondering what happened. "I don't like Star, I don't like Star, I don't like Star," he repeats in his head. "I'll go take a shower that will clear my head," he said walking to the bathroom.
Star headed to her room going through what just happened in Marco's room. Their faces were so close. It took everything in her power to fight her urge to kiss him on his lips.
In the beginning, she denied her feelings for Marco. "Marco was this bad boy jerk how could I like him," she used to think. But during her week on Earth, she realized how caring and nice Marco actually was. She felt safe around him.
She brushed her hair and put her clothes on to head downstairs. When she made it down there she smelt the smell of pancakes cooking. Her stomach grumbled. She fell in love with pancakes while on Earth. She would drown them in syrup.
"Hello dear," said putting down a plate of pancakes. Star grabbed her fork and knife and started devouring her pancakes when she saw Marco making his way down the stairs.
Marco sat down next to Star not even glancing at her. Marco sat waiting for his food to come with an obvious awkward silence between them. burst out of the kitchen with two plates of pancakes handing one to Marco and placing one at her seat.
"So you guys have anything planned?" asked breaking the awkward silence between the two teens. "No, planning on doing nothing," Marco said swallowing a mouth full of pancakes. "How about you two go to The Pier?" said looking at the two of them.
Star looked up from her food and asked, "What's a Pier?"
"The Pier has games, rides, and all sorts of food." said cutting up her pancakes.
"Oh, can we please go it sounds so fun!" Star said excitedly jumping out of her chair. Marco slouched in his seat as he speaks out the side of his mouth, "Yeah, no." "Please please Marco," Star begs to gives Marco the puppy eyes.
"Ugh, fine let's go I guess," Marco said giving in smiling very lightly. "I won't be able to go with you two I have plans for today but I'll give you money to get in and for rides," said collecting all the plates.
"Well I guess get ready," Marco said, "We'll leave in an hour."
Star was excited to go to The Pier. She had finished getting ready twenty minutes ago but Marco was still getting ready. She was tapping her foot while sitting in her bed wait when she heard a knock at her door.
"Princess, you decent?" Marco said peaking through the door with his arm in front of his eyes. "Yes I'm fine," Star said giggling to herself at Marco's actions. "Well in that case if you're ready let's go. I'll be downstairs," he said turning around closing the door behind him.
Star quickly gathered all her stuff to head out and headed downstairs. She saw Marco waiting for her at the door. "Let's go," he said heading out the door. Star quickly followed him out there.
Star and Marco started making their way to The Pier. While walking both of them were walking in silence. A very awkward silence. "So... About this morning," Star said breaking the silence. "It fine Star," Marco said stopping and turning to her, "let's just forgot that this morning happened."
"Y-yeah," Star said.
"Oh look we are here," Marco said pointing ahead of him. Star stopped in awe. There were so many things in The Pier. Marco and Star walked through the entrance.
"So what do you want to do first, eat or rides," Marco said to Star who was staring at all the rides around her. "I want to do that," she said pointing to the rollercoaster.
Marco gulped trying to hide his fear. Marco had a fear of heights that no one knew about. "Uh you sure I don't know seems kind of. . . high," he choked out.
"No, it seems fine," Star said excitedly grabbing Marco's hand pulling him to the line.
When they reached the front of the line Marco was sweating like crazy. Clearly fearful. When it was their turn to ride Star quickly sat in the front cart Marco hesitantly following her.
The ride started to move up. Marco was death gripping the bar shutting his eyes. Star next to him bouncing with excitement. When they reached the top they stopped. Marco cracked his eyes open. "Oh this isn't that ba-AAAAAHH, he screamed grabbing on to Star as she put her hands up in enjoyment.
When they got off the ride Marco ran to the nearest trashcan and threw up. "Wasn't that fun," Star said running up to Marco her hair all crazy from the wind. "Yeah just lovely," Marco said peaking his head up out of the trashcan.
"Ooh that looks interesting," Star said pointing to a pink-looking ride. "Yeah whatever you want to do," Marco said with his head still in the trashcan. "Well let's go then," Star said grabbing Marco by his hoodie.
"Star watch it you're choking me," Marco said gasping for air. Marco froze when he saw what ride Marco dragged him to. "Oh no Star this is The Tunnel of Love," he said backing up a bit. "Well I love being your best friend," Star said pushing him forward. "Not that kind of love," Marco said fighting back.
"oh, OH. I'm so sorry Marco I didn't realize," Star said hiding her face with embarrassment. "It's ok Star you didn't know," Marco reassured her putting his hand on her shoulder. Star looked up at his hair all messed up. Marco pushed a strand of hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear. They both froze staring at each other.
"Marco?" said a sad voice behind them. Marco broke out of the trance and spun around to see Jackie there. "Jackie this isn't what it looks like," Marco said walking away from Star towards Jackie.
"I don't want to hear it, Diaz," Jackie yelled at him running in the opposite direction. "Marco I'm so sorry," Star tried to say to Marco but he didn't listen. He bolted after the crying Jackie. "Jackie wait!"
Star stood there. Watching Marco run away with guilt in her heart making Jackie cry. But the was one more small feeling in there too, jealousy.
Marco finally caught up to Jackie. She was sitting on a bench. Face in hands. Marco went to go touch her shoulder but she shrugged it off. "Don't touch me," she snapped at him. "Come on let's talk," he said softly grabbing her hand. She resisted but gave in. Marco led her to the Ferris wheel.
Once the ride started moving Marco started explaining what was happening. "Look I love you and you know that."
"Well why have you been ignoring me. You have been hanging out with Star all weekend," she said finally making eye contact with him.
"I had to hang out with her, my mom wanted me to show her around town," he lied. He really had been ignoring her not realizing. "Well it seems like you like her more than me," she sadly said. Marco hesitated, he had been enjoying his time with Star. He didn't like her, right?
"No your my girlfriend. I would never do that to you. Star is just some girl I don't care about. Do you want me to spend the rest of the day with you?" he asked. She nodded. They finished just as the ride came to a stop at the bottom.
They found Star waiting for them near the cotton candy vendor. "Marco, Jackie I'm so sorry I didn't mean to," she said quickly. "It's fine princess. I'm going to go hang out with Jackie I'll see you at home," Marco said grabbing Jackie's hand and walking toward the exit.
Star stood there till they were out of sight. She didn't feel as much guilt as she did before all she felt was jealousy.
"Why can't that be me?" she whispered to herself.
