She was here again, Elizabeth thought. She wandered again in this vast field of nothingness but yellow grass that towered up to her ankles. The breeze was gentle and soothing, bringing pink leaves from an absent tree she couldn't find. Elizabeth looked up at the lavender sky and saw that they were cloudless voids that neither had a sun nor moon. Despite its emptiness, the yellow grassy field was glowing from an unknown source and Elizabeth felt a powerful and familiar magic that tickled her fingertips.

This is where she saw an older Meliodas, she recalled. A Meliodas that looked exactly like his brother, the brother that killed him in Vaizel.

What am I doing here? Elizabeth pondered as she aimlessly walked around. Something happened to me. Then she heard the grass rustle behind her and she quickly turned to look.

It was her, the demon who had recognized her. Her yellow haystack hair was cropped asymmetrically just above her ear, her perfectly built body was bare naked and her darkness was the only thing that covered her. Elizabeth took a step back in caution, but relaxed when she felt no hostility from the demon.

"What are you doing here?" Two amethyst eyes pleaded. Her voice reverberated and echoed around the vast field.

"Derieri?" Elizabeth asked. There was something different about her, Elizabeth thought. She noticed Derieri's eyes were not the terrifying onyx she saw the first time they met, and her intricate demon markings were also missing from her cheeks. Aside from her features, the demon was also wearing an expression that was the exact opposite of what Elizabeth saw first hand weeks ago. Her brows were deeply creased, but not in anger, and her lips were agape, but not in retaliation. Derieri looked concerned and scared for her. Elizabeth frowned, why was she asking this? And this wasn't how she asked that question last time.

"What. Are. You. Doing. Here?" Derieri asked again, putting emphasis in each word. Elizabeth's frowned deepened as the demon's voice reverberated inside her skull.

Elizabeth felt an unusual gravity towards the demon's question. Of course she didn't know what she was doing here, she just asked herself that just moments ago. Her disoriented mind only allowed her to recall walking with Meliodas in the halls of the castle. Before that, she had a terrible headache and went to sleep on a desk. And before that…..she was looking for Meliodas because something terrible happened at the capital. Wait. What capital? Elizabeth clasped her eye. It started to burn in her sockets, it's as if there was burning fire insider her skull that wanted to escape through her irises.

"You shouldn't be here…" Derieri said with deep sorrow in her voice.

"I don't know….." Elizabeth shook her head "What amI doing here…?"

Then through her blurred and fiery vision, the lavender skies had turned a deep onyx, the grass beneath her feet stopped swaying, and the world grew silent. She took one last look at Derieri before the darkness crawled on her skin and enveloped her into nothingness.

Elizabeth sat up and gasped for air, she was drenched in sweat and her silver locks had clung on her wet nape. She raised her hand to clutch her throbbing head and found that her arms were heavier than usual. She looked down and saw that she was wearing a rather thick woolen coat and layers and layers of thick fur blankets enveloped her legs and torso.

"Ugh…" Elizabeth moaned. She felt hot and sticky under all this fabric, her body heat inside of the clothes made her feel even more disgusting. She started removing them, wondering as to why there were so many.

"Elizabeth?" Her favorite pig called.

"Oh, Hawk. You're here." Elizabeth smiled "Good morning"

Then out of nowhere, the pig screamed and jumped on the bed. "Elizabeth!" Hawk cried. "We've all been so worried! I don't know what I would have done if you weren't…..if you weren't…"

Elizabeth raised her brows in confusion. "Worried? About what?" She surveyed the room and found that she wasn't in the nursery where she last remembered she stayed. "What am I doing here?" The question rang in her ears. There it was again, that question that seemed to haunt her. Then she remembered her bizarre dream….wait. She frowned. She can't remember. Elizabeth can only recall two amethyst eyes looking at her and asking what she was doing here. Strange. She just woke up just seconds ago, how could she forget that quickly? Not only that, it seems she had also forgotten what happened to her last night.

"You mean you don't remembered?" Hawk inquired, his face filled with tears and snot from crying.

"Apparently…..what did happen?"

"You fainted in the bathroom last night, and you had a weird crazy fever!" Hawk answered. The pig nestled beside her in the free space of the bed. "But your temperature feels normal now."

Feinted in the bathroom? So that's what happened to her. Maybe she hit her head or something that's why she couldn't remember. It's still odd how Hawk reacted though. The way he said how sick she was sounded extreme, but she didn't feel anything unusual, she didn't even feel any bumps on her head. Just that her memories were kind of….foggy and her head was throbbing because of it.

The morning light poured inside the room through the closed glass window, casting the warm heat of the sun that made her feel stuffier. She recognized her box of possessions lying on a wooden table beside the window. Hmm why was that there? Then she finally did a full 360 and her eyes caught the glimmer of a green scabbard hanging on the wall beside the closet. She'd recognize it anywhere, the dragon's symbol etched with gold inlay on the green leather scabbard matched it's owners emerald eyes and golden hair.

That's right. Elizabeth remembered now. She had asked to room with Meliodas since hers was destroyed. But it's still so unclear, it feels like she's still missing puzzle pieces to a blurry picture she can't distinguish yet. She tightly closed her eyes to try and remember what happened the other night. All she could see in her mind was her dream, a glimpse of yellow hair behind a screen of smoke she can't peer through.

Elizabeth sighed, feeling defeated. Her head was starting to throb from trying too hard to think.

She started to fully get up when she realized "Where is Meliodas?" She asked, looking frantically around the room.

Hawk jumped from the bed and was in front of her in seconds. "Oh no, your not getting out of bed!" He ordered.

"I just want to look for Meliodas" Elizabeth said almost in a panic. Hawk said something but she had already started to run to the door, pushing past Hawk and ran out the hallway.

Hawk screamed behind her, but she she didn't hear what he said as she kept running through the castle halls. The stone floors of the castle were cool beneath her feet and she felt a breeze between her legs and torso, but she ignored all of it as she kept running to nowhere in particular.

"Meliodas…." She muttered under her breath.

Elizabeth didn't understand why, but she felt anxious from his absence. She still couldn't remember anything concrete, but she had a feeling that he was going to leave soon, or worse, he had already left without her knowing. As she absentmindedly searched for him, she could faintly remember a discussion with him about traveling somewhere on important matters, and she felt that it was because of her. Her foggy memories were fueling her anxiety and she started to hyperventilate.

"Meliodas!" She finally called aloud.

It felt like she was a stranger in her own home, the halls she ran through were paths she was suppose to know like the back of her hand, she grew up here and barely left the castle after all. Albeit the fight with the demons had destroyed most of it, it should be the same regardless. Yet, everything was so unfamiliar and her head started to spin from the disorientation.

Her hyperventilation started to worsen as her anxiety rose. She abruptly halted from her run and slowly sank to the cold stone floor. What was happening? Elizabeth panicked. She wasn't in her right mind and it was frustrating not knowing why. She clutched her head that was now bowed to the floor and tears started to stream down her face.

She didn't know how long she stayed there, but she tried to even out her breathing and tried to make sense of her surroundings despite her chaotic mind. The cool stone floor helped at least, wishing she could just fully merge with it if she could.

"Elizabeth?!" Somebody called. Two hands had started to grip her shoulders, but she still kept her head bowed to the floor. Hot tears still streamed down her cheeks uncontrollably.

"Elizabeth, please answer me" The voice begged. "What's happening? Are you ok?"

"I-I don't know what's happening." She finally managed. "I can't remember….things."

The hands that gripped her shoulders started to move up and down, creating warm friction to sooth her. Then, they moved to her waist and back, lifting her upper body from their bowing state and cradled her gently despite her hesitance. When her head finally rested on the crook of her savior's neck, the familiar warmth and scent finally registered and she looked up at the person that held her.

"Meliodas!" She breathed. He didn't leave, she sighed in relief. Her rapid breathing calmed and her tears ceased as Meliodas held her tighter to him.

"It's ok. I'm here" He cooed. "I'm sorry I left. I just went out to get you breakfast."

Elizabeth looked around and saw that there was a tray of food behind Meliodas that was hurriedly set down. "I-I'm sorry. I just couldn't find you and I couldn't remember anything. I thought you had left and I panicked." She explained.

"What do you mean you couldn't remember anything?" Meliodas asked, his brows knitted.

"When I woke up, I couldn't remember what happened the other night. And I had the faintest memory that you and I had a discussion about you going somewhere" Elizabeth clarified, trying to hide the fact that she was about to lose her mind. She didn't want him to know that felt that way, afraid that he might worry. Plus, she couldn't really explain that her head felt like it was splitting apart. Literally and figuratively.

Meliodas' face was calculating, and if Elizabeth caught it right, he was angry too. She shrank, feeling like she had caused his distress. She opened her mouth to explain and tell him that there was nothing to worry about, but her thoughts were immediately lost to her when he started to remove his shirt.

Elizabeth blushed and was extremely confused for a moment, but then Meliodas wrapped his shirt around her waste and tucked them at her bottom before he fully stood up to carry her.

"Wouldn't want anyone to see you like that" He teased, despite his angry demeanor.

Elizabeth looked down and finally took notice of herself. She was wearing a loose white long sleeved shirt that was open three buttons down, revealing her cleavage. And from what she could feel, since Meliodas had covered her lower frame, the shirt ended just above the cup of her butt, which should still reveal quite a lot. Elizabeth turned tomato red when realized she had been running around the castle in those.

"How are you feeling?" Meliodas asked, snapping her back from her daze of embarrassment, trying to recall if there had been people she had crossed that might have seen her. He inched is his neck and chin closer to her forehead, giving her a good whiff of him that made her blush worsen than before. "You don't seem to be burning up anymore." He said thoughtfully.

Elizabeth was back to the reality that she apparently had short term amnesia, plus delirium, because she apparently lost her sense of direction as well. But the disorientation and confusion lessened, now that she knew Meliodas hadn't left. But she was still curious to know what happened and more importantly, why she couldn't remember anything.

"I'm sorry, but I really don't remember about being sick. I do feel fine, if that's what your asking." She assured him, still resting on the crook of his neck.

She could feel his shoulders tighten when she said she couldn't remember, giving her an impression that he wasn't really happy about that. But he didn't say anything about it and just inquired more on her phantom fever. "Do you still feel cold?"

Elizabeth shook her head. She didn't really feel nor felt even a residue of the conditions both he and Hawk were talking about. It was just her throbbing, disoriented head. And maybe also an empty stomach.

Meliodas chuckled, seeming to hear her hungry stomach. "Don't worry, I'll head back for the food."

"You can now if you want, so you don't have to walk all the way. I can walk by myself" Elizabeth offered. She felt bad that Meliodas had to leave the good tray of food that he made an effort to arrange because he had to carry her.

"It's fine. I'll be quick for it before Hawk makes a meal out of it" He joked. "Speaking of Hawk. I'm gonna have to skewer him for letting you run around like that."

Elizabeth jolted in alarm. "It's not his fault! I just really panicked and I think I may have pushed him too."

Elizabeth felt guilty because she felt that she might have pushed the pig a little to forcefully in her panicked state. When they reached his room, Hawk was there waiting and was screaming a slew of apologies towards Meliodas, to which he just gave a meaningful glare at, not wanting to scold him in front of her, Elizabeth wagered.

When he set her down on the bed, Meliodas quickly left the room to retrieve her breakfast and was back in just minutes. He set the heavy looking tray of food on the bed side table effortlessly.

Meliodas had managed to fit all the food she loved to have for breakfast into the large ornate silver tray. There was an array of different kinds of breads and pastries, strawberry jam, a plateful of scrambled eggs, a bowl of creamy mushroom soup, bacon, and even a pot of tea. She was about to dig in when her hands stopped from getting a piece of bread.

Meliodas chuckled, watching her. "Don't worry, I didn't make it. Your chefs did"

Elizabeth laughed, her mood finally alight despite having the most chaotic morning. "It's not that." She giggled. "I forgot myself for a bit. Please eat with me." She offered.

"I'm fine. I'm not hungry and I got that for you."

Elizabeth was not taking no for an answer, and she was not eating a single drop of soup until Meliodas ate too. "Please. There's plenty of food."

Meliodas gazed at her for a second and had an expression she couldn't read for the millisecond it was on his face before he chuckled and gave in. She poured him some tea and they shared a cup, since Meliodas only brought one, and they ate together on the bed. As they ate, Elizabeth inquired finally on the events she couldn't remember, asking him all the gaps in her memory and Meliodas answered every one of them.

"I wonder why I can't remember or at least why my heads feels so….foggy." Elizabeth mumbled to herself as she ate a mouthful of bread.

"I'll speak with Merlin" Meliodas stated flatly. "That reminds me. I was suppose to talk with the Sins and your father about the trip to Cains, but I'll have Merlin handle that too."

Elizabeth remembered now, thanks to Meliodas, that she was partially (if not fully) the cause as to why they needed to travel there. She also still needed to perform her duties as princess and she wasn't about to just lay around when she wasn't even sick. They were at war and she didn't want to be a hindrance to the Seven Deadly Sins and to their captain who was essentially needed everywhere.

"No. Please go, they'll need you and father requested for you to come. I'll be fine and I don't even feel sick" She assured.

"No. I leave for five minutes and I see you half naked in the hallway clutching your head on the ground. Merlin can handle it." Meliodas insisted sternly.

"That was nothing. I just panicked and overreacted!" Elizabeth argued in nearly a scream. Her eyes widened at the shock of her reaction. Why was she getting angry? She's usually very calm. She took a deep breath and collected herself before she spoke again. "Please Meliodas, you don't have to worry about me. And I'd feel bad if I kept you here"

Meliodas heaved a heavy sigh. "I'll think about it. I'll talk with Merlin first, she'll be here any minute. Why don't you freshen up in the meantime." He suggested.

Now that Elizabeth thought about it, she must have smelled from being simmered under the blankets all night. And she really needed to get out of the clothes she didn't even know how she got in to. "Yeah. That would be good."

"Will you be ok on your own?"

"Yeah, I told you I'll be fine." She answered rather harshly. It took a moment for Elizabeth to realize before her tone had registered in her ears.

"I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean- I don't know why I'm like this." She stammered.

She looked at Meliodas with pleading eyes, afraid that he would get angry or shun her away and leave. But to her surprise, he wasn't fazed at all and even smirked before he spoke. "It's ok, Elizabeth. Now go, I hear Merlin around the hall."

Elizabeth wanted to apologize more but Meliodas already gave her an understanding look. She retreated to he bathroom and started the water to the tub. She looked at herself in the mirror and noticed that she looked an absolute mess. Her fringe had flew everywhere in her face, fully showing her right eye that she always tried to conceal. She wondered how long she was like this and bowed her head in frustration.

Everything was so wrong with her today, she though as her hands gripped the sides of the sink. Once the tub was full, she fully submerged herself in the soapy water, wanting to fully disappear and burst like a bubble.

Once Meliodas heard Elizabeth's body enter the tub full of water, he ordered Hawk to listen out for anything unusual as he went outside the hall.

Just as he exited the room, Merlin was already there with her arms crossed. But despite her usual demeanor, Merlin's eyes looked tired and she had a weary look on her face.

"How is she?" The mage inquired.

"She's better. Her fever is gone and she doesn't have the chills anymore"

"And the pill? How did it affect her?"

"Well besides being a little aggressive, she said her memory was foggy." Meliodas frowned both in worry and anger. "I found her clutching her head in the middle of nowhere in the castle"

Merlin sighed "I'm sorry, but I did warn you"

"Warn me?!" Meliodas snapped. "She's losing her mind and I couldn't do anything about it. I don't know if she even forgot-" Meliodas stopped himself.

"Forgot what?" Merlin prompted.

"Never mind" Meliodas shook his head. He was worried that Elizabeth might have also forgotten the first night they had together in the nursery, the first time he had kissed her when he had wanted to for so long. He couldn't tell nor ask her about it when they were having breakfast since it was unimportant at the time. And Meliodas, no matter how much he hated it, knew it would be better for her if they weren't going down that road any time soon. Although she did seem comfortable with him, but she's always been like that and it was hard to tell.

He saw Merlin frown and he knew the mge already had a clue what he was talking about, but didn't talk about it, well not yet at least. "Would you calm down. We had no choice at the time. Besides, these effects are not permanent. It will subside along with the power suppression function of the pill."

Meliodas sighed heavily, putting his thumb and index finger to the bridge of his nose. "She's taking a bath now and she's insisting that I not abandon my duties just to take care of her."

"Sounds just like Sis-sis" Merlin mused despite herself. "But she's right, if we are too succeed in our end goal, we will need you."

Meliodas grunted in frustration. "Who's going to take care of her then?"

"I've already made a pill catered to her, so all the side effects she's experiencing now will be gone." Merlin answered. "She also has her sisters who are very much concerned for her as you are, or did you forget?" The mage mocked.

"Fine. Call the Sins and let's get this over with fast." He ordered.

Merlin handed him the new bottle of pills, this time they were now the color of sapphire instead of previous onyx one. The mage snapped her fingers and was gone in an instant, already attending to the preparations he had asked her to do.

As soon as Meliodas entered the room again, he knocked on the bathroom door and asked Elizabeth if she was ok. To his relief, she answered loud and clear from the other side. Meliodas cleaned their tray of food and made the bed as she got ready. He opened the window, now that Elizabeth's chills had passed, and let in some fresh air. Frankly, he was still undecided about leaving her side, and no one can actually do anything if he had decided not to attend every damn meeting.

There was a light knock on the door, and Meliodas grabbed a shirt before he opened it. It was Elizabeth's sister, Margarette, holding a bundle of clothes in her arms.

"Sir Meliodas, good morning!" Margarette greeted. "How is my sister?"

"She's feeling better. Her fever seems to be gone and she's taking a bath." Meliodas answered.

"Really? Thank goodness!" The first princess exclaimed in relief. "I brought her some new clothes. These were tailored to her since she had trouble looking for some that fit her."

Meliodas let her inside and the princess already knocked on the bathroom door to announce to Elizabeth about the fresh new clothes. He figured that the girls will need some privacy since they were talking about fitting them and excused himself out the hall. Before he knew it, her other sister, Veronica had come around the hall and brought some food.

"She already had breakfast. But I'm sure she'll still eat since you brought her some." He told Veronica.

Once he heard that they were done dressing up, he went back in and saw that Margarette had taken good care of Elizabeth. She had put her in a beautiful blue gown with intricate gold linings and had also fixed her hair in a messy bun.

The sisters ate together and even invited him to join, but he refused. Minutes later, Elaine had also knocked on the door. She had a very concerned look on her face, no doubt hearing the news from Merlin when had called for the Sins. The fairy princess attacked Elizabeth with a slew of questions and concerned sentiments before she joined to eat with the three princesses.

Seeing Elizabeth laugh and being taken care of by the girls gave him a guilty feeling that he was being too overprotective. Well, when has he never been. But, he had to always remind himself that Elizabeth can take care of herself, and she was finally in the company of a good family.

So he decided to leave her in their care for the moment. He said goodbye to the girls and quickly made his way to the council room where the Sins and the king will be meeting.

They were already seated and there was an empty seat at the head of the table opposite the king and he begrudgingly made his way to it. He hated this, hated being at the helm of war once again. It reminded him so much of what he used to be. Attending meetings left and right, people looking up to him on the decisions of which land to conquer first.

But he had to remind himself that this was different, no matter how familiar it may look. He had a goal and he was determined that this would be, she would be, the fucking last one.

He heaved a sigh when everyone waited for him to say something, obviously always the one who had to start it.

"Let's get this fucking over with"

Apologies if my fic lacks some notes. I find it really hard to upload here on . Anyway, thanks for the lovely comments on my Fic! it motivates me to keep writing.

I'm planning on merging this with canon, so no, Elizabeth's memories won't return early in my fic. It's more of my adding explanation as to why she started remembering.

I'll ty to stick to my schedule of weekly updates.
