Klaus drove down the secluded back road toward the little town known as Mystic Falls. He hadn't been to this side of the country in decades and wanted to look at his old hunting grounds once again. All of his siblings were out exploring the country, trying to avoid their parents as if they were unruly teenagers. But that is a drama for another day.
Klaus is finally back in this little town and has decided to stir up the supernaturals for a little fun. As he pulls up to the new house he bought in the main residential area of town, Klaus decided that he would venture into the little town and look for someone to have a little fun with. He wondered if he would find only vampires in this little town; he vaguely remembers rumors of werewolves moving into this town after he had left.
Klaus decided to walk down the street to get an idea of how this small town has changed since he was last here. Walking into a little shop called the Mystic Grill, Klaus surveyed the clientele. He spotted a group of high school students sitting around a booth. He spotted a girl that looked strikingly like Katherine, but that was impossible since she had died in the church many years ago. She was practically sitting in the lap of a young man, definitely a vampire. Klaus assumed this must be one of the Salvatore vampires he heard about. He wondered which one would be so naïve as to be caught by a doppelganger.
As he ran his eyes over the rest of the patrons, he saw a strikingly handsome man with black hair and soft blue eyes. The man was practically glaring holes into the couple at the booth, so it seems the girl had caught the interest of more than one vampire in this little town. Deciding to play with these vampires, Klaus sauntered up to the man with black hair.
"What's a stunning man like yourself doing here all on your own?" Klaus questioned the man.
The man stared up at him with a look of disbelief on his face and replied, "Who the hell are you?"
Klaus smirked down at the man, "You, darling, can call me Klaus." He held out his hand to the other and brought the offered hand to his mouth. He placed a soft kiss on the back of the baffled man's hand and sat across from him without letting go of his hand. "I see you aren't used to being on the receiving end of chivalry, how cute." After Klaus finished speaking, he could hear the kids at the booth start talking about him. He wondered if these rude remarks were the reason this man had been glaring at their table so fiercely before he sat with him.
Damon's mouth started to smirk as he replied, "Not many people are brave enough to walk up to a Salvatore in this small town. I've got a reputation, you see. Call me Damon." Damon heard what his brother and his little gang were saying about him, but decided to ignore them. This man was the most interesting person to step into Mystic Falls since his little brother had returned from his last stint as the Ripper.
Klaus' expression turned to a smug grin as he said, "Well, I'm new to town, Damon. I haven't heard anything about this reputation, but I do think I would like to get to know you better. Come with me, let's take a walk and baffle those friends of yours at the booth."
Klaus stood up and held his hand out to the younger vampire. Damon took his hand and squeezed as Klaus led him through the Mystic Grill. Damon could feel the eyes of everyone in the restaurant on him, but he looked up as Klaus squeezed his hand back. Klaus smiled at Damon and they walked past the booth of teenagers. Klaus looked into the other Salvatore's eyes and smirked as he stole Damon away from the rest of the town.
As the doors shut behind the two men, the booth full of teenagers burst into conversation about who this new man was and what he could possibly want with Damon Salvatore.
