I'm back! I have been so preoccupied that I hadn't noticed that it has been weeks/months since I last updated. I have been writing the chapters all this time, but just didn't have the time to completely finish it. So to make up for it, I bring this very long chapter. Wanted to split it into 2, but otherwise it'll be short.
Also just a disclaimer that I based how arks work from canon. Specifically how they appear where goddess/user casts it. Like when Jelamet arked Meliodas, just to give a visual example lol.
So without further ado, enjoy!
Elizabeth had finally gotten some decent rest.
For the past few days, her body felt extremely tired and sore from the bizarre fevers; Invigorate didn't even do anything no matter how much she tried. She felt even more restless when Meliodas and the Sins were in Bernia for three days; not getting a blink of sleep because of her anxiety and longing for him.
But thanks to the pill that Merlin had given her, it felt like the medicine practically forced her to sleep and relax. And when she had gotten the news that Meliodas and the Sins had returned home earlier than expected, Elizabeth felt relieved that they had all gotten back safely and couldn't wait to have Meliodas alone and all to herself.
But Elizabeth wished the feeling was mutual, because the captain of the Seven Deadly Sins didn't seem happy to be back home at all. Since last night, he had acted so passive and distant, constantly dodging all her questions, and did not act like his usual self at all. She was extremely concerned, afraid that something might have happened to him, but he just kept shrugging her questions off.
Despite being well rested, Elizabeth was in a sour mood. The only thing that comforted her was Merlin's request to meet her and Meliodas in the woods at noon. Elizabeth was hopeful that it would finally be about her powers; the mage did promise her an explanation last night.
She quickly did her errands and assigned tasks she couldn't attend to, busying herself all morning to ignore the feelings of her heavy heart and hunger for answers. Her father, sisters, and everyone else kept asking about if she was alright, she hadn't realized it was almost noon. She had completely forgotten to eat but realized that she wasn't really in the mood, so she just went straight to the meeting place Merlin mapped out for her.
Despite the heat and sudden dizziness, Elizabeth ran towards the woods in the far end of town in just a few minutes. After what seemed like forever of looking at Merlin's map, she found herself in a small clearing at the heart of the woods, concealed by oak trees so large their branches overlapped with one another, creating a dome over the glade that only allowed a small portion of sunlight to peer through.
The space wasn't too big for it to feel stark, and not too small to feel cramped. It felt too perfect, and the silver haired princess only wished she would enjoy this secluded haven. Because as soon as she arrived, Merlin and Meliodas were already in the middle of a heated argument.
The Dragon Sin of Wrath, with his arms crossed and furrowed brows, just gave her a small nod when he saw her and went right back to whatever they were going on about. It was difficult to interpret with her just arriving, but Elizabeth understood two things: Druids, and well, him constantly saying no.
It was difficult to interrupt them and announce her arrival, so she took unsure steps around the two and found herself a snug enough looking patch of grass and just watched the two Sins back and forth as if she were watching an intense game of catch.
For some reason, Meliodas had an impatience to him, as if he didn't want to be here. Elizabeth couldn't place it, but his impatience didn't seem like it was because of boredom or disinterest. It was as if he loathed the idea of having to teach her magic, and he was absolutely fuming about having to be here for it. Was there something wrong with the druids that he wasn't telling her about? Or did demons have something against them and just didn't want to tell her? Whatever it was, Elizabeth tried to be rational of Meliodas' behavior, believing that he always had good reasons for his actions.
But Merlin on the other hand, left her more all the more perplexed. Since she wasn't as close to the Boar Sin of Gluttony, gauging her emotions wasn't the easiest thing for her. But this was the first time she ever saw the mage bothered and ill-tempered; although maintaining her usual composed self, tone soft and serious, Elizabeth still noticed the slight curl of Merlin's lip, the throbbing of her temple, and the small growl at the end of her sentence whenever she answered Meliodas.
Clearly the two were not seeing eye to eye today, which was unusual. Elizabeth always saw them as two well-oiled gears knowing how to support one another and had little quarrel since they both trusted the other.
So, this was very new to her, as the two Sins looked downright ready to kill each other.
"Are you kidding me right now?!" Meliodas scoffed. "Do you even know how dangerous that is?"
"Well, would you rather we teach her how to manipulate humans then?"
They seem to be also talking in code, Elizabeth deciphered, or as far as being discrete with these two goes. They were avoiding saying something in front of her and they just kept substituting it with this or that . Elizabeth wasn't offended in the slightest, she wasn't the type to pry, and especially among two people who clearly knew each other for a long time. But if they wanted to keep something from her, they were clearly doing a bad job of it.
The Boar Sin of Gluttony took a long breath and spoke before letting Meliodas answer her question. "It's the first, best thing to do. She's already done it, so it would be easy enough."
"Right, and that didn't completely just melt someone's flesh off" Meliodas responded sarcastically. "It's d-a-n-g-e-r-o-u-s"
It was also a bit rude, considering how they were obviously talking about her as if she wasn't here. But Elizabeth figured that whatever they were talking about seemed more important than her feelings. Plus, maybe she had arrived too early and wasn't even supposed to be here yet? She felt like an improper, eavesdropping squirrel.
Merlin had her thumb and index finger to her temples now. "I thought we had already discussed this."
"I agreed to your suggestion of, 'letting it out'" Meliodas quoted with his fingers. "Not teaching ' that'"
Elizabeth raised an eyebrow. Their conversation was getting more and more confusing. Now they were talking like she had to let out gas or else last night's dinner would be a danger to her and everybody else.
"I thought you would be smart enough to know what I had meant." The mage growled "Besides, wouldn't it benefit us? Especially knowing what awaits in Camelot?"
Meliodas looked taken aback and Elizabeth felt the sudden change in the air. There was a long pause of silence, and it was like the birds had stopped chirping and the creatures of the woods went into hiding. "What did you say?"
Merlin was unphased however and remained resolved, objective. But Elizabeth could tell that the mage took offense in Meliodas' tone. "I said it would aid us. Tremendously."
"I thought I had told you to drop it already" Elizabeth sat up now from her small peaceful patch of grass where she tried to be unnoticeable for the past hour, and slowly approached the two as Meliodas was getting more hostile. "I thought I made myself perfectly clear. Are you deciding on your own again?"
"You don't own her. Keeping her here would be counterproductive for the two of you."
Counterproductive? Elizabeth had no idea how to react to this, she was utterly uncomfortable right now. She would rather turn around and go back to the castle instead and let the two of them talk in private first if they were going to talk about her like this. Well, at least she assumed so, their whole conversation was so vague to her who knows who they're really talking about. It was like they're talking about her and another person entirely at the same time.
"I am doing what's best for her." Meliodas replied with a deep and low tone.
"By having her cooped up here?"
"Your overstepping, Merlin. This wasn't what we talked about." The Dragon Sin of Wrath now took two steps towards the mage with balled fists, asserting himself with the magical aura he's emanating.
The mage didn't buckle, her feet ascended from the ground as she floated toward him in response. "I thought you were more logical than this."
"And you're being too persistent. Back off." Meliodas' emerald eyes turned four shades darker, his demon mark slowly forming on his forehead.
"Camelot has fallen, and Diane and King haven't returned. What else do you plan to do?" Merlin said through gritted teeth. Her sacred treasure glowed and fizzed beside her, and the mage's fingers were poised at a certain position, ready to aim with a spell.
"I can handle Camelot just fine on my own." Meliodas' voice was deep and hostile, his eyes were now the shade of onyx as his hands flickered with the fiery tendrils of his darkness.
Elizabeth could feel it, the tremendous power they were going to unleash. Merlin didn't speak and just raised her hand response, and Meliodas unsheathed the sword from his back the millisecond Merlin moved.
"OK!" Elizabeth ran as fast as she could, but her toe stumbled upon a thin tree branch and didn't have time to care if she were to fall. Thankfully she had lurched herself in between them before they could do anything. "That's quite enough!"
The two froze and quickly stepped a few feet away from each other, their eyes widened, as if the sight of her snapped them back to reality. Elizabeth, with the unsteadiness of her footing, tripped on her own toes and landed forward with her face planted on the ground.
Meliodas quickly kneeled to her side and helped her up. His grip was gentle, but as soon as she stood back up, it tightened slightly and he tried to situate her behind his body, away from Merlin. But Elizabeth only moved a couple of steps, as his leading hands didn't have enough force, almost as if he had done it unconsciously.
This bothered Elizabeth. She honestly doesn't know what's going on between them anymore. A couple of days ago he said he would miss her, this morning he wouldn't speak to her much less look at her, and now he's being possessive. And it's so hard to ask! They were so wrapped up in something else important, she would feel bad about putting her feelings in the way.
But of course, she wouldn't speak of that now. It looked like whatever they were doing here was more important to the two Sins.
"Would you two please calm down?" Elizabeth put herself in between them again "Can we just focus on what we came here to do? Whatever it is, we're going to do."
Meliodas was the first to apologize. "I-I'm sorry. We took it too far." He let go of her arm and shifted his weight to be closer to her.
"Indeed. We could have put you in harm's way." The mage added, but her gaze was still towards Meliodas, accusing and unapologetic.
The Dragon Sin of Wrath did not take this well and glared back.
Elizabeth was about to implode at this point. The silver haired princess didn't know what to do next, as these two were oddly acting immaturely. Merlin was acting like a child and Meliodas never stayed angry this long. Asking them the wrong thing might set them off and leaving them alone would most likely lead to them at each other's throats. She was in no position to mediate, and she still hasn't asked the fact on why there were no other Sins present.
Elizabeth hesitated, but she decided she would get her answers first instead.
"Before anything else, I beg the both of you to tell me what it is we are doing here." She demanded.
Merlin sighed, looking to have finally calmed down, and descended back to the ground. "We're here because your powers need to be trained." The mage looked at Meliodas and rolled her eyes. "Or rather, find an outlet for them."
"Outlet?" Elizabeth asked, confused. Ok? So, they weren't talking about her passing gas.
"Yes." Meliodas responded this time. "Your powers are growing, so to speak."
Merlin had already told her this last night, and Elizabeth had pieced together that they were here because of it, even without their 'coded' conversations. But as someone who just found out about her powers, after being a normal human for most of her life, this wasn't something easily understood. What was she exactly? Based on the history lessons of her childhood, magical powers are rare amongst humans, such as Holy Knights and Druids.
"So, you're going to teach me more Druid magic, correct?"
"Yes"
"No"
A silent exchange was made between the two, and Elizabeth felt uncomfortable with how they just couldn't talk about it out loud.
Merlin stepped forward "Like what I said last night, princess"- Meliodas scoffed at this- "The reason for your fevers is your powers wanting to be released. In order to do that, you need to do more than healing magic." The mage paused. "Another reason would be that your powers are not being used the right way."
Elizabeth didn't know much about Druids, but the Holy Knights she grew up with never seemed to have some sort of problem when they had their powers. "The right way?" She inquired.
"Yes, you could have had your powers before you even met us or started having them just a few months ago. And your lack of knowledge of its presence has caused complications." Merlin explained, then turned to Meliodas, urging him to explain further.
Meliodas took a heavy breath and shook his head slightly before he spoke. "Accumulated power not finding an outlet leads to damaging results." He started, not meeting anyone's gaze. "It's like boiling water inside a kettle. Once the water reaches its boiling point, the steam inside accumulates. If the kettle has a small opening from its trunk, it whistles and screams loudly. If it doesn't have any means for the steam to pass, the kettle will shake, and if left alone too long, it will explode."
"But that didn't happen with anyone I knew." Elizabeth replied. "And why did it only happen to me now?"
"Well, powers manifest and show themselves differently for everyone." He paused for a moment, and Meliodas had a change in expression, one that Elizabeth couldn't decipher yet. "In your case, it's….now."
Elizabeth considered this, but recalling the Holy Knights she grew up with, they had their powers as long as she could remember. Maybe it was different? Especially for other races.
"So, when did you get yours?" Elizabeth blurted. Shoot! She cursed internally. She realized maybe it was a rude thing to ask.
But instead of being offended, Meliodas chuckled instead, and the ease in him returned at last. "Pretty early I would say. Around the time when I was born, I guess."
That confirms Elizabeth's theory then. "So, it usually appears at birth or early childhood then? Because most humans do as well."
"Well, it's different for me." Meliodas explained. "One, I'm a demon. Two, I'm a high level one, as you already know by now." He coughed uncomfortably at the end.
"So, some demons get them late like me?" She asked, hoping her curiosity of his race would pave the way of showing him that there's no reason for his discomfort.
"Yeah." He chuckled. "I know a demon who got her powers from bathing in miasma for 300 years."
Elizabeth smiled, seeing the ease in him return. She perked up in excitement on knowing more about the Demon race. They were always depicted as an evil race that got what they deserved against the war 3,000 years ago. But Elizabeth never saw Meliodas like that. And the fear that people had of his race was out of ignorance. She wanted to ask more, but Merlin cleared her throat and spoke before she could.
"Now, that we have that sorted out. Shall we proceed?" The Boar Sin of Gluttony looked at Meliodas meaningfully.
Elizabeth knew Meliodas would protest, because they had been opposing each other the minute she got here, so before he could, she needed to assure him first. "May I just say something first, please?"
The two looked at one another and nodded for her to continue.
"I don't know what exactly it is your two are fighting about, but whatever it is, if it's about me…" Elizabeth paused. "Please know that I just wanted answers and to help. Because that's all I ever wanted to do, as I've never been much help to any of you."
Meliodas sighed. "This is dangerous, Elizabeth." But his expression softened and reached for her hand. "But you're right. This is a decision that's entirely up to you."
The silver haired princess felt overwhelmed. This was something she was finally going to do; and she finally got or was starting to get her answers. And finally, although to what seems to Elizabeth as a horrid and unnecessary feeling, she felt included. Included in the Sins and not just some helpless tag-along princess.
Elizabeth beamed in appreciation. "Thank you, Meliodas. And yes, I want to help. In whatever way I could."
Meliodas smiled in response and squeezed her hand before nodding to Merlin.
"Alright, let us begin." Merlin announced. "So, we could at least accomplish something before it gets dark."
The mage asked her to stay put and started walking in the opposite direction, Meliodas following behind. They were whispering something as they walked, and it was hard to decipher since they were already out of earshot. They stopped at the farthest side, where the glade was bordered with thick tree lines.
"Apport!" Elizabeth heard Merlin cast.
Three rounded targets appeared beside them, with a big red bullseye at the center, and Elizabeth had no idea what they were for. Was she going to shoot them? Grow a tree at the spot like Jenna had asked her before in the training grounds? What if she would be bad at it again and it would just crush her spirits?
"Alright, princess, are you ready?"
And Elizabeth suddenly had no idea if she was.
"Watch it!" Merlin scolded.
"Sorry, sorry!" Elizabeth screamed from across the field.
Just moments after teaching her the fundamentals of Ark- of course including all the bullshit of twisting it around so they won't have to mention the word 'goddess' in her presence-Meliodas was astounded. Elizabeth had casted an one in an instant.
Meliodas thought that she would have at least struggled a little bit, but it was too natural it horrified him. She casted her Ark onto the middle target, enveloping it with her bright light before it exploded into a million pieces with a sound as loud as lightning, not natural for an Ark.
At her second cast, she was successful at hitting the other target just beside Meliodas, and at the third, Elizabeth had misaimed and casted it on the thick tree branch next to Merlin. The wooden shrapnel could have seriously injured the mage if she hadn't dodged in time.
Then Elizabeth went completely out of control. As soon as the wooden targets were decimated, her Arks started targeting other solid objects, ergo everything. Rocks, trees, even the duffel bag Meliodas had brought with snacks inside.
Merlin yelled at her to stop and watch where she aimed, but the Arks just kept blowing up everything, and Elizabeth just screamed a wave of apologies from the top of her lungs. Meliodas had been so preoccupied with the stupid arguments that he had forgotten to consider that any being introduced to their power, especially pent-up ones like Elizabeth's, wouldn't be able to handle the output.
When another Ark was casted on a branch just above him, he sprang instinctively to defend himself, half crouched and ready to pounce out of the way. He and Merlin will most likely be the next target. If he were to be hit with her Ark now, well, they didn't have the luxury of time to wait for him to be resurrected back, much less wait for his limbs to grow back.
Meliodas felt the ancient, yet familiar burns from her Arks, it was hilariously nostalgic despite the situation. Her Arks alone would be enough to kill two or three low-level demons in one hit, and enough to keep one high-level demon at bay. But he wasn't about to say that out loud and have Merlin bring Elizabeth to Camelot and use her as some trump card.
But the mage was right, as much as he would hate to admit it. If they had waited a few more days for this, or if he hadn't agreed to it at all, it would have been detrimental for her.
"Elizabeth!" He yelled out. But it was no good, there was nothing but bright flashes and exploding shrubbery. He started to walk slowly towards her, but before he could make it far, he realized the mistake he's done.
He felt it, his demon senses feeling the chill of a goddess Ark being casted on him. Meliodas had no time to think, he had to reinforce his body to withstand the hit. He let his demon surface, feeling his mark appear on his forehead and his eyes ooze with black ink.
In the milliseconds that the Ark was starting to surround him, he had to think fast. He's fought Elizabeth before, so he'll for sure lose a limb or two. It normally wouldn't be a problem, but Elizabeth had just started using her powers; whether he liked it or not, this was good for her. If she were to seriously injure him, she would lose confidence and would never consider using her powers ever again.
"Gah!" He realized he screamed aloud. The Ark started to solidify; his skin started to burn.
He was running out of time. The Ark will detonate in the next second.
Countering her Ark would be the next best option, so unsheathed Lost Vayne from his back in the next breath and swung his sword.
"Full-counter!" As the magic made contact with the blade, he had another half second to decide where to send it before he could let it go.
He only had two choices where to send the Ark in this confined space: At the caster, or above her. So, he obviously was only down to one, but Meliodas had forgotten to take into account that an Ark like this would detonate like a bomb when they reach their highest point, which is directly above Elizabeth.
He would have to reach her in time the minute he releases the Ark from his blade, or if he was lucky enough, Merlin was catching on and could cast a Perfect Cube around them. But chances of that were 50/50.
When his blade made the sound of the dainty clanging of metal, he instantly leapt towards her like a missile. He erupted with this darkness, his tendrils extending to reach her and envelope her just in case he couldn't make it in time.
Everything was happening in a single second, his 3,000-year-old instincts could sense everything in slow motion; how Elizabeth looked at him, wide eyed, confused but unafraid, and from the corner of his eye, he saw Merlin casting her Perfect Cube. And just as Meliodas predicted, the mage's spell wouldn't make it in time as she was just mid-motion of casting it.
And just as his darkness was only inches away from Elizabeth, she shifted her stance. She spread her feet and planted them firmly on the ground. She looked to the heavens and raised an arm, her hand with three fingers pointing outward, towards her Ark.
The Ark grew brighter and Meliodas couldn't bare but close his eyes at the light, delaying his momentum. Then his senses felt it, the direction of the Ark was moving downwards. Though it was still too bright, he opened his eyes with strain, and saw the Ark like the sun, descending on Elizabeth.
He panicked and threw all his darkness towards her. It wrapped her waist and spread all over her body like a blanket. The Ark was already at the fingertips of her outstretched hand, his darkness wasn't spreading fast enough and he was still too far from her.
"NO!"
The light disappeared like it had been eaten by something. And the light of the mid-afternoon sun was nothing compared to the exploding light before him.
Then the Ark disappeared, and the expectant sound that was supposed to follow was absent. Everything happened all at once, like time was unfrozen in his slow- downed world. Merlin's Perfect Cube popped out of nowhere, capsulating the entire field, his body finally meeting Elizabeth's, colliding with her still standing form.
They fell on the ground and his body was on top of hers, pinning her down protectively. Meliodas hastily surveyed her from head to toe, cupping her cheeks and squeezing her arms.
She was alright, her whole body enveloped now in his darkness, and he could feel every inch of her intact.
"Elizabeth, are you ok?" Their faces were just inches away from one another and Elizabeth was gazing at him like she was in some sort of trance.
She didn't answer. "Elizabeth?"
"What?" She answered in a daze.
"Are you ok?" He repeated, deep in worry. "Are you hurt? Do you feel anything?"
She was breathing quite heavily and it was making him anxious. Her bangs were sprawled to the side because of their fall and nothing seemed to be out of place; one sapphire, and one with the goddess triskelion.
Elizabeth noticed this and she seemed to wake up from whatever trance she was under. Her eyes widened and she completely turned pink.
"Meliodas! I'm so sorry I-I hurt you." Tears started to stream down her cheeks so quickly, he chuckled. After all the effort of trying to prevent her from hurting him accidentally, she still found a way to blame herself and think of his well-being before hers.
"That was nothing." He smirked. "I think I kind of deserve it."
"No, you don't!" She cried. "Please don't say that. Are you hurt?"
"I'm fit as a fiddle" He leapt up and his tendrils that still surrounded her groped her bust and ass simultaneously. "See?"
And just like before, her usual squeal was absent. Instead, her face was filled with tears of concern for him, which is something he doesn't deserve.
He heard Merlin behind him, and honestly forgot about her for a moment. "Are you alright? What happened?"
"To be honest, I have no idea either." He chuckled as he slowly removed himself from Elizabeth. As much as he had missed touching her, this wasn't the time nor place.
He straightened up and returned his darkness that didn't want to pull away from her either. He offered a hand to Elizabeth and carefully lifted her up, and checked her from head to toe once again to see if she was really alright.
As soon as she steadied her footing, Elizabeth was already saying a swage of apologies to the mage. "Lady Merlin, I am so sorry for putting you in harms wa-"
"How did you know how to do that ?" The mage asked, dismissing her.
Meliodas frowned, taking offense to this. "Do what, Merlin?"
"Didn't you see it? She returned it. She returned the Ark to herself, Meliodas."
"What are-" And then it suddenly hit him.
"Return!"
Was a spell only the archangels can cast that returns their magic back to them; much like his counter-vanish, but only limited to spells they casted themselves. So as the story goes in the demon realm. He and Zeldris made fun of the goddesses after hearing it, such subpar power compared to his, he had boasted.
And he only saw it once, when Mael tried to save her when she had been in the way in a heated, chaotic battle between their two races.
"How…?" He was speechless. Now he know why Merlin had taken such a grave tone, this was a fucking problem. How can she know about such advanced magic in a span of mere seconds?
He turned to Merlin, and they both already came to an understanding. But he asked, with his eyes, that the mage proceed in his stead as he didn't know how to function anymore.
But before Merlin could, Elizabeth stepped forward and started explaining herself. "I-I did return the Ark. Is there something wrong with that? Did I do something wrong?"
It broke his heart to hear this. "No, no. You've done nothing wrong, Elizabeth."
"Indeed." Merlin added. "Forgive us, we are just confused. We aren't very familiar with this type of magic."
"Then I want to help, please." He could see the hurt in her eyes, and if anyone was going to be confused, it would be her the most. She must have felt like a freak in front of them, almost hurting someone and not knowing how to explain herself. But he could also see that whatever Elizabeth was feeling, she was putting on a brave face for his sake.
"Well, you can start by telling us exactly how you returned the Ark." Merlin suggested.
"It just felt like something that I would be able to. Like energy I restore when I would 'Invigorate'" Elizabeth explained. "So I felt the pull when I saw Meliodas counter it."
Feeling the magic is one thing, but knowing how and what to do is another thing entirely. "Did someone teach you how to do that?"
It was a long shot, since even to the demons it was a myth, but at least he would know whose balls he was kicking the hell out of.
"No, no one taught me how to do it."
He gazed at Elizabeth and saw a reflection of himself; confused and angry, and realized that Elizabeth was doing such a good job of being brave, he was the one falling short of it. His reactions might have made her feel even more insecure about herself.
Meliodas reached out for her hand that was fidgeting nervously at the ends of her skirt. "It's alright Elizabeth, you did great." He smiled reassuringly. "You've done wonderfully today."
"Indeed, Princess." Merlin agreed. "But I think we're done for today, the sun is setting."
"Will we still do this again?" Elizabeth asked.
"Yeah." Meliodas could feel the surprise on Merlin's face. "We'll continue some other day, maybe tomorrow if you're not too tired."
And he could see how Elizabeth perked up at this and tried to conceal it. "Ok."
He squeezed her hand that was still intertwined with his. "Why don't you go on ahead, we'll just be a minute."
Elizabeth nodded and walked towards the tree line where she came from.
They waited a few long moments, the sun was almost below the horizon now and all that was left was a deep orange hue.
"How serious is this?" Meliodas asked, still looking towards the direction where Elizabeth had walked off to.
"We're in the dark." Merlin responded. "We have no idea how this magic works. This might be a natural occurrence for them. We just don't know"
"Damnit." Meliodas cursed. He already accounted for the fact that they knew nothing about goddess magic. They won't know if she was doing something right or wrong. "Isn't that something only the Archangels could do?"
"I told you, Meliodas. You would know more goddess magic than me." Merlin sighed. "This isn't the place to talk about it. I sense the others looking for us. For now, we should keep a cool head. I'll do the necessary research."
Meliodas felt the mage disappear from the field, leaving him behind in the now debris-ridden glade, strewn with the chaos of exploded wooden branches and shrubbery. As much as he would like to cause more chaos to it, the field had been through enough. And from what he promised Elizabeth, they would be back here soon.
He trudged along the grass, towards where Elizabeth went and surveyed the field again as he left. He had to find some way to clean this place up, or trick one of the Sins into doing it for him without giving too much away.
Maybe Escanor will if Merlin asked.
I'll try to update as soon as I can. I'm not entirely sure yet if this will diverge from canon or if I'll somehow merge it. But anyhow, the possibilities are endless, and I'm still having such a fun time writing this.
And I also finished the movie, Cursed by Light. Not going to talk much to avid spoilers, but all I can say is I loved it so much and I'm going to miss NNT. I know it hasn't technically ended yet, but that movie just made me so fucking emotional it made me realize that this is the last thing we're going to get for Meliodas' story. And so, we live on through our Fics, and it just made me really want to read and write more.
Let me know what you guys think of the movie, cos I really want to talk about it lol.
