Perhaps this idea is hard to come by in today's world.

It's not that I have any complaints, nor do I want to do anything with my own hands.

It's just that this indigestible idea has been with me for a long time, and I don't think it will ever go away, so I thought it was none of my business.

Until I met him.

It might be redundant to explain this again, but Ritsuka Fujimaru has memories of her previous life.

In her previous life, she was the last of the human masters that could prevent the incineration of humanity, and she was ray-shifted to all times and places.

And in this life, she lives in a world where different abilities called "quirk" are commonplace.

Before the incineration of humanity, Ritsuka's life was quite ordinary, going to school and going home as usual.

And now that she has been reborn, she goes to school and goes home as usual.

However, there is one thing that is definitely different: common sense. To be more specific, it is the stereotypical notion of a "hero".

Ever since Ritsuka turned four years old and remembered the awakening of her quirk and memories, she has had a sense of discomfort.

If you turn on the TV, you will see images of professional heroes defeating enemy villains.

It is a normal thing in this world.

However, Ritsuka has memories of her previous life.

That's why Ritsuka had feelings that she couldn't tell anyone.

"Heroes are... kind of different, aren't they?"

From her previous life, Ritsuka loved to watch movies. Maybe that's why.

For Ritsuka, the image of a hero was that of a "free helper."

In this life, a hero is more of a "profession." Defeating evil villains, gaining recognition, and receiving a salary.

That was completely different from the image of a hero for Ritsuka.

She knows that the "hero" of today's world is a different kind of countermeasure than the police force.

But if you call yourself a hero, you shouldn't expect anything in return for it.

If you're going to make a career out of it, you might as well give it another name, not "hero". Like armed police officer, for example.

I don't mean to denigrate the "heroes" of this world. Most of them are in their professions because they want to help people, and Ritsuka thinks it's cool and respects the way they sometimes risk their lives to protect people.

However, the "hero" that is commonplace in today's world is not a "hero" for Ritsuka.

And she was aware that this idea was probably a strange one to those around her, so she never told anyone about it.

Really, that's all it was, and I never had any desire to do anything about it, I just thought that I wouldn't have anything to do with it because it was different from my beliefs.

"───Which is why, when they suddenly told me about that I don't know how to respond."

"I'm the one who doesn't know how to respond when you tell me this story suddenly."

In the corner of the cafeteria at U.A High School, sitting across from Ritsuka, Shinso finally made a comment, feeling confused.

"I'd like to talk to you about something, if you don't mind. ... preferably where no one can hear us."

He was eating lunch with Ritsuka in a corner of the cafeteria, because the buzzing around them would make it difficult for other people to hear.

When he found out what they were talking about, he was told that she was recommended to transfer to the Hero Department. Oh and she talks about the sports festival too (probably), but he wasn't really surprised. To tell the truth, he had been approached by them too.

So it's nothing to worry about, shinso tried to say.

But after that, all that came out of Ritsuka's mouth were things like "I remember my past life" and "What about the Avengers?" things that I didn't really understand, and without even listening to my questions, she ended up clenching her fists and started to forcefully explain her opinion on the "heroes" of today's world. It took about 20 minutes.

Ritsuka's ramen was all stretched out, and if anything, it had absorbed so much broth that it was as thick as udon noodles. As Ritsuka's speech began to die down, Shinso finally interrupted her.

"Well, I thought I could piece the information together but...

I thought I was doing my best to listen politely, but...

But I don't understand what you're saying at all."

No, I understand the word that you're saying, but I don't understand the meaing of the word you're saying.

"Etto, to put it simply in my past life, I had a fixed idea of what a hero was, but the definition of hero here is different, so I don't really have that much admiration for heroes in this life...well, I respect them, but...

No, that's not it."

aaah, this is so confusing! Ritsuka shouted half-heartedly, "That's my line!", and Shinso half shouted as well.

Ritsuka had thought about it the day before so that she could explain it well.

It's just that

"For example, if Anpanman gave Anpan to a hungry child by cutting off his face, but Uncle Jam paid him for giving Anpan, wouldn't you feel something strange?"

This was the easiest metaphor for Ritsuka could think of.

"What is Anpanman...? He's going to cut his own face off...? Scary..."

That was quite a natural reaction in this day and age.

"I can feel the flow of times..."

"You're being quite funny today..."

Generation Gap? Is this what they call generation gap? While Ritsuka began to ask herself incomprehensible questions, Shinso quickly finished eating his own curry.

"Fujimaru, if you're not feeling well, you'd better go to recovery girl. I'll tell the doctor myself.

... Also, you shouldn't be picking up strange things to eat. Shinso said as he's picking up his tableware and returned it.

"What did I do wrong?"

If I had to say, it was everything.

Ritsuka slurped down the udonized ramen alone.

I know it's not just the movie.

Ritsuka thought as she walked home.

I used to meet and be surrounded by a lot of heroes.

I don't know when it was, but when we were watching a hero movie together at night in My Room,

she once said to me,

"Senpai who prevented the incineration of humanity is also a hero."

As I recall, I denied it.

But even so.

"Even so, the senpai who held my hand at that time is definitely my hero and my pride."

She smiled at me.

I don't remember how I responded.

I don't remember anymore.

I am a hero to that girl...

Of course there are many heroes around me, but...

But among all of them...
