Chapter 1 – Beast Wars Part 1
The Planet Cybertron; Centuries ago, it was the epicenter of a massive conflict known as the Great war This colossal war was fought between the forces of the Heroic, honorable Autobots, and the cruel, Tyrannical Decepticons. For control of the planet and its resources.
The War raged on for thousands of years, and many on both sides fell in brutal combat. In the process, Cybertron was driven to the brink of ruin. Eventually, the war came to the planet Earth, as a force of Autobots and a force of Decepticons crash landed in their search for more Energon. The forces at play were lead by the respective leaders of each faction; Optimus Prime of the Autobots, and Megatron of the Decepticons. Upon their reawakening, they came into contact with humanity, who would eventually join the war alongside the Autobots, who swore to defend the primitive species. The involvement of humanity would turn the tide of battle in the favor of the Autobots.
The Autobots faced many setbacks, most notably the Death of Optimus Prime, the Arrival of Unicron, and the Death and Rebirth of Megatron as Galvatron. In the end, however, the war ended with the death of Galvatron at the hands of the new Autobot leader, Rodimus Prime, and the Decepticons officially surrendered.
Generations passed, and Cybertron rebuilt. Eventually, the Autobots underwent an evolution, reducing themselves in size and developing new Techno-Organic bodies to conserve Energon, eventually becoming known as the Maximals. The surviving Decepticons also underwent this process, becoming known as Predacons. Despite the mass changes to the Cybertronian species, old animosities remained. While Predacons were accepted in society, many Maximals were wary of them due to their ancestors' roles in starting the Great War, a concern that was only strengthened by the innate Aggression of the Predacon species. In spite of all this, there was a tenuous peace between Maximal and Predacon for centuries.
One day however, a small group of renegade Predacons lead by the Predacon extremist Hordak staged a daring heist in Iacon. They brazenly stole an artifact known as the Golden Disc, and fled from Cybertron in a Predacon Warship known as the Dark Star. The Golden Disc is a joint record of Human and Cybertronian History, and is said to contain the co-ordinates to a massive cache of Energon hidden on Earth. As they prepared to escape Cybertron via a Transwarp tunnel, a nearby Maximal science ship known as the Bright Moon began its pursuit.
The Dark Star and Bright Moon soon exited the Transwarp tunnel in orbit of a mysterious planet, each ship exchanging shots with one another. Despite being a science vessel, the Bright Moon was matching the Dark Star shot for shot, though the damage was beginning to add up.
"Come along, Glimmerwing, join your mother on her ship! It's just a simple Protoform transport, with the occasional scientific expedition! It'll be a wonderful learning experience!" a young maximal whined, typing away at the Shield systems. "I didn't think we'd be stuck in battle with a PREDACON WARSHIP!"
Another, older female Maximal, named Alphadora continued to fire at the Dark Star. "Glimmerwing, you KNOW we were the only vessel in range. And we can't let the Predacons use the Golden Disc." she shouted back. "Just keep use updated on those shields!"
"Yeah, Yeah I know!" Glimmerwing replied, turning to the only male of the crew. "EagleEye, How's the hull holding up?"
"Good for now but if we keep sustaining this kinda fire we're not going back to Cybertron." he shouted back. "Commander, we can't keep up the pursuit!"
"We don't have much of a choice anymore." The commander, Angella Magnus, replied as she leaned forward, focusing on the battle. "Hordak's Predacons won't ever give us the time to open a new Transwarp tunnel."
"We're dead…" deadpanned the last of the crew, another, much taller Maximal named Mermista. "Should have stayed home today."
"Focus Mermista, we have to keep firing!" Angella replied, her patience at its limit.
Meanwhile, the Dark Star began to turn the tide of the battle, and landed a few solid hits on the Bright Moon. Hordak grinned from his command seat, watching the battle. "We've got them on the ropes, Lord Hordak." Called out the main gunner, a female, decently built Predacon named Chargebreak reported.
"Then we must press our advantage and finish them now!" Another Predacon, Huntara, yelled out.
"Now now, where's the fun in that." Hordak's second in command, an eerily slender, female Predacon named Orbweaver chuckled, turning to face Huntara.
"Well whatever we do we'd better do it quick before they recuperate." a Shorter female named Catra quickly added, manning the guns.
"Fire a disabling Shot. Why destroy them now, when we can send them plummeting to the planet below." Hordak responded, smirking as he leaned in his command seat. "With them out of the way, we may resume our mission."
"That seems very dangerous sir…" A smaller male Predacon, Aegishell, whimpered, before his partner, a Predacon double his size, hissed at him in annoyance. "Y-yeah sorry Reptillio, I just don't wanna get blown up again."
The Dark Star took aim and unloaded a broadside into the Bright Moon, causing severe damage and causing its cargo hold to be vented into space. As the vessel shook, Glimmerwing began to panic. Alphadora on the other hand, kept her composure. "Commander Magnus, We can use the gravitational pull of the planet to swing our vessel around and land a devastating shot on the Dark Star with our main weapon." She informed Angellis, "Bring them down with us."
Angellis nodded. "Do it! We cannot allow Hordak his victory."
Mermista groaned. "Yeah sure, we're gonna die but hey, at least we stranded these Glitchheads in the process right?" she deadpanned.
"Mermista, this is really not the time!" Glimmerwing yelled as the ship swung around and opened fire on the Dark Star. Alphadora managed to land a perfect shot on a vital point of the Dark Star, knocking out its power. "Nice shot!"
"Everyone, Brace yourselves!" Angella Magnus yelled out as everyone quickly strapped themselves in. The damaged vessels began to burn in the atmosphere, falling to the planet below like two comets, before making a rough landing a decent distance away from each other. The Bright Moon crashed into a mountainside, and the Dark Star into what appeared to be an inactive Volcano. As the Bright Moon's power sparked in and out, the five Maximals aboard groaned in pain and discomfort. "Damage Report?" Angella groaned out as she slumped in her chair.
"Bad. Real bad." EagleEye commented, as his console sparked in his face. "Everything's a wreck. Scanning system's operational and some of the defenses, but we're not getting off-world anytime soon." He sighed, rubbing his head. "Guess I'd better get to work."
"Yeah well, that'd be a lot easier if there weren't crazed Predacons on the planet with us too." Mermista groaned, checking her systems for damage.
"Oh Primus you don't think they survived did you?" Glimmerwing whined out, slamming her own forehead into her console.
"We did, Glimmerwing, it would stand to reason they did as well." pointed out Alphadora, who turned to Angella Magnus. "Where even are we? Did we get to Earth?"
"Hard to tell, Transwarp Technology is still fickle and highly Experimental. It's very possible we've arrived on both the wrong planet, and in the wrong time." Angella admitted. "Light Hope, are you still operational?"
The Ship's AI, Light-Hope, quickly flickered to life. "I am, Angella Magnus. My systems are damaged but not irreparable." the feminine voice explained, briefly stuttering as the damaged ship attempted to keep it powered.
"Can you run a scan of the planet we're currently on?" Angella asked, as Light-Hope brought up a holographic globe.
"This planet does not match any record of the Planet known as Earth, aside from similarly varied animal life. Furthermore, there is clearly Energon on the Planet." the Ai explained, highlighting pockets of raw Energon.
Glimmerwing perked up and looked surprised. "Energon? Here?"
"Raw Energon to be exact...in vast amounts. Too much for your Techno-Organic bodies I'm afraid." Light Hope continued. "Prolonged exposure increases chances of Stasis lock, and in extreme cases, permanent internal damage from the natural radiation. I am able to shield you within the Bright Moon for the time being."
Angella Magnus thought a moment, before nodding. "Light-Hope, Send out a probe across the planet. Scan us suitable alternate modes of the Local wildlife. We'll take advantage of our Organic sides and take on Beast forms to help resist and adjust to the Energon radiation." she commanded, standing up from her seat.
"Aw man, you mean I gotta give up my Jet mode for some local Animal?" Glimmerwing, again, whined.
"I dunno Glimmerwing, I'm quite excited to see what the planet has to offer." EagleEye commented as he walked over and helped her out of her seat.
"Recommend that you all enter the Reformatting Chambers. Dispatching the probe momentarily." Light-Hope quickly said, as the Five Maximals wisely did as she said, and climbed into specialized chambers, inducing temporary Stasis as the Probe began to scan them new forms, and reformat their bodies to suit them.
Miles away, The crew of the Dark Star was picking themselves up and attempting to work on repairs. Hordak, reclining in his command chair, had made his own scan of the planet, and come to a similar conclusion to Light Hope and Angella Magnus. The Predacons would require beast modes. "IS everyone accounted for." He asked, calmly, awaiting the deployment of the probe.
Aegishell was meanwhile, supporting an injured Reptillio on his shoulder, an impressive task given his much shorter stature. "We're all alive sir...but I think Reptillio took severe damage, his voice box is sparking really bad." he commented as Reptillio let out a low, distorted growl and looked up at them.
"That's unimportant." Hordak dismissed. "HE can live without a voice, I just want to make sure you're all combat ready." HE marched towards a reformatting pod. "I've already sent a probe out to find us suitable forms to traverse this planet. Take on your beast forms, and prepare to scout for Energon."
"And should we encounter the Maximals, Hordak? Surely they survived as well." Orbweaver asked, preparing to climb into her pod.
"They will stand down. If they fight, they will die." Hordak replied, "There is no room for Mercy anymore...For any of them"
Chargebreak groaned softly and looked at Huntara. "Again with the quoting..." she commented under her breath.
Huntara shushed her, as Hordak continued to speak. "The great Decepticon Commander Megatron once said that, as he declared his revolution against the rule of the Autobots, against the Cybertronian High Council. We may be smaller in number than the Great Megatron's Decepticon movement, but still we carry his spark of revolution. We well strip-mine this world of it's Energon, return to Cybertron and show our might to the rest of the Predacons. A New War, the rise of the Predacons, shall begin. And woe to any Maximal who gets in our way…."
It wasn't long before the reformatting process finished up, and the Maximals stepped out of their pods in their new Beast Modes. Alphadora stretched out, finding herself in a Quadrupedal form. "Hm, this is gonna take some getting used to. And...do I have a TAIL?" She stated, looking behind her at the furry tail slowly swaying. She turned and walked up to another pod, looking at herself in the reflection and looking herself over, finally getting a good look at her beast form: A White wolf. "Well now, this IS a nice form. I look fierce….and kinda cute?"
"As opposed to me, who's just cute." Glimmerwing chimed in, flying over in her new form, a bright purple butterfly with beautiful teal wings. "This is nowhere near as cool as my Jet mode!"
"But far more graceful." EagelEye added, as he flew in, perching on a chair in his own Beast form: An Eagle. "Plus you still HAVE your wings. And you can hover in place now instead of making yourself dizzy circling around somebody just to talk."
"Couldn't you just use your robot form for that, Kid?" Mermista deadpanned, hovering in with a jet harness. "Plus as least you can move without a harness. This form is useless outside of water." Everyone turned to face her, and Glimmerwing stifled a laugh at her form, a Dolphin.
The final pod opened as Angella Magnus stepped out, in the form of a magnificent Swan, and everyone turned to await their orders. "Oh come on, am I the only one here who CAN'T fly?" Alphadora groaned, shaking her head. "What's our next move, Commander Magnus?"
Angella examined herself only briefly before turning to the rest of her crew. "Our first goal should be scouting out where the Dark Star landed." She explained, "If you find the Predacons, contact the rest of us immediately, do not engage. We're both stranded here, I can only hope that Hordak will see reason, rather than start a war."
"Seriously mom?" Glimmerwing deadpanned. "He's already gone this far, there's no way in the Pit he's gonna just stand down because you ask nicely."
"But still I must try." Angella replied. "Belief in only the absolute worst in other Cybertronians is what lead to the Great War…"
The newly reformatted Predacons soon departed their ship to prepare to scout for Energon. First one out was Aegishell, in the form of a bright yellow Scarab. Following him was Reptillo, having taken the form of a Komodo Dragon. Chargebreak followed next, in the form of a large brown bull. Catra stalked out as well, a Lion with a brilliant red mane. Orbweaver crawled out soon after, a maroon colored Orbweaver spider, fitting for her name. The last to exit was Huntara, in the form of a Pale blue Velociraptor. She stopped as she looked around and growled in anger.
"Grrrr, No no NO! There's no way this is Earth!" She yelled out, causing everyone to look at her, stunned. She turned towards the Dark Star and called out. "HORDAK! Not only did you fail to destroy the Maximals when we had the perfect opportunity, you've gotten us stranded on the wrong PLANET!" She yelled out, throwing the Golden Disc into the ship at the silhouette of Hordak. "You are a fool and a failure of a leader!"
Hordak chuckled darkly as he slowly exited in the form of a Grey Bat with red eyes and Red wings. "I beg your pardon. Would you care to repeat yourself Huntara?" he asked with an eerie calm to his voice.
"You heard me. You are a Failure! I followed you because you promised to lead a glorious revolution against Maximal cruelty. Instead, your arrogance and ego has got us stranded, with the enemy, and No way of knowing Where we are or what year we've been transwarped to!" she yelled back, giving off a roar and transforming. She stood up on her hind legs as her body twisted, her tail opening up to become her left arm, and her tight arm forming out of part of her torso. Her Raptor slide into her chest, allowing her head to pop out, and her body rearranged itself to become Bipedal. She took The two halves of her tail to form her spear and snarled. "Therefore, I'm challenging you for leadership of the Predacons! We need a strong, worthy leader if we have any intent to survive the mess YOU have gotten us in!"
Hordak turned his back to Huntara as he transformed into his Robot form and shook his head. "Stand down Huntara. I may yet spare you if you kneel and beg my forgiveness." He threatened. Huntara, however, charged at him and thrusted her spear. Hordak simply stepped to the right and caught the spear in his left hand without any difficulty. "Then you have made your choice." He growled as he pulled Huntara closer, turning around and shifting his right arm into a cannon, firing a shot directly into Huntara's chest at point blank range, before throwing her damaged body down the ship's entrance ramp. As the Predacons approached her in shock, Hordak looked them over. "Dump that piece of traitorous garbage into the Wilds, where she belongs. And Huntara, if you ever show your face in my presence again I will not be so merciful… The rest of you, go scout for my Energon."
Glimmerwing was flying through the skies of their new Planet, looking over the landscape as she id so. "Hm, this form isn't SO bad…" she commented to herself. "A lot quieter than my old form." She scanned the area for anything of interest, hovering in mid-air a moment. "Pretty nice planet though….what's that." She landed quietly and watched movement ahead. Not long after she landed, she caught Aegishell crawling along nearby rock formations. She grinned to herself and called back to the other Maximals. "This is Glimmerwing, I found a Predacon. Moving to engage."
"No Glimmerwing, wait for us to get there!" Angella Magnus replied.
"Sorry mom it's just one guy, I can take him." Glimmerwing commented before cutting off her comms and flying up above Aegishell. "Glimmerwing! MAXIMIZE!" She yelled out as she began her trandformation. Her wings remained on her back as her abdomen split in two to form her legs and feet, her arms popped out the sides of her thorax and her head opened up to reveal her robot head, thje two halves sliding over her chest to make a chestplate. "Head's up Predacon!" She yelled out, raising her hands and firing her concussive blasts from her palms.
Aegishell yelped as the blasts hit down near him, quickly flying back. "Oh geez! I'm under attack!" he yelled, contacting the Dark star. "This is Aegishell, I've found a Maximal! I-I'm engaging now! Aegishell, TERRORIZE!" His shell shifted to form shielded covered arms as his Abdomen turned into his legs. He pushed himself up as his beetle head flipped behind him to reveal his panicked robot mode face. His wings fluttered fast as he held up his arms and blocked Glimmerwing's next shot, knocking him off his feet before he could steady himself mid-air. Quickly, Aegishell returned fire with his Blaster pistol.
Glimmerwing dodged the shots and returned fire, but within mere moments, another shot struck her in the wing as Hordak flew in and landed next to Aegisshell, the res of the Predacons arriving shortly and lining up. "Oh….Scrap…" Glimmerwing said as she backed up, finding herself outnumbered.
"You had difficulty with this single Maximal, Aegishell? I'm disappointed…" Hordak commented. "Honestly, this one is just a child. Destroy her and let's move on."
"Hold it right there Hordak!" yelled out Angella Magnus, as she arrived with the rest of the Maximals, EagleEye quickly flying to Glimmerwing's side and helping her up with his wing.
"Ah, Angella Magnus. I had a feeling you survived." Hordak commented, glaring daggers at the Swan.
"Hordak, please, listen to me. We're both stranded on this planet, and there is a large supply of Energon here. We need not fight." She pleaded. "Please, let us call a truce to repair our ships, and get ourselves safely off world. IF you return to Cybertron, I will see to it that Micah Prime shows you amnesty."
Hordak simply laughed at her pleas. "There will be no Peace, Angella Magnus. Not so long as the Predacons remain under the heels of the Maximals. We shall tear you and your entire crew into Scrap Metal, here and now."
"Then I'm afraid you leave us no choice Hordak. Maximals, prepare for battle!" Angella called to her allies. "Angella Magnus, MAXIMIZE!" She stood tall as her Swan neck split in two, forming her arms with her hands sliding out under the halves of her swan neck. Her wings shifted to her back and tucked in closer together. Her Body shifted to lengthen slightly as her legs slid out from the body, and her head formed from the top. The beaks over her hands opened up to form her blasters and she readied for battle.
"EagleEye, MAXIMIZE!" Yelled out EagleEye. He stood up as his legs shifted to lengthen slightly, his arms popped out the sides of his Eagle form, and his head shifted over his right Shoulder to form a shoulder-pad. His headslide out the top of the Eagle and his wings folded around his body to form his chest armor, though it left his midsection exposed slightly. Finally a Bow unfolded from the top and bottom of his right Arm, his hand transforming as a part of it.
"Mermista, MAXIMIZE!" Mermista detached her flight pack and as she fell, her Dolphin Tail split in half to form her legs, with the Fin halves shifting into her feet. Her Dolphin head slid to her chest as her arms popped out the sides of the body and her Robot head slid out the top, her dorsal fin on the back of it. Lastly she draw a Trident from her back, with a Cybertronian Blaster built into the handle.
"Alphadora, MAXIMIZE!" Alphadora stood on her hind-legs as her front legs altered to form her arms and hands. As she howled her Wolf jaws split open, the top jaw folding back into her head, forming a pseudo-tiara shape as her face appeared within the jaws, the bottom jaw sliding inside her chest. Her tail detached and stiffed, becoming a Cutlass-style sword which she quickly grabbed, and her neck fur forming a short pony-tail behind her head. She draw a Cybertronian Pistol and glared at the Predacons, though her gaze turned to confusion as she saw Catra among them. The shock was clearly evident on the Lion's face as well.
"Predacons! ATTACK!" Hordak commanded, "Hordak, TERRORIZE!" He let out a screech as his arms detached from his wings, which formed into a cape behind him, his legs folded out from his chest, which took on the appearance of body armor with the Predacon symbol emblazoned in the center. His Bat jaws parted far and his face emerged between them, they then rotated and shifted to form a collar from the teeth. His right hand flipped back into his arm to reveal his arm cannon.
"Orbweaver, TERRORIZE!" Orbweaver hissed as her legs folded out of her Abdomen, the rest of whjch shifted up to her Thorax to form her arms, and four of her Spider-legs folded around her waist, forming the appearance of a tattered robe. The other four slide around to her back as Extra limbs. Lastly, her Spider-head shifted down into her chest to reveal her head, with only her eerie yellow eyes visible as the rest was covered by a black and red Faceplate, a third red eye in the denter of her forehead.
Catra managed to pull herself from the shock of seeing Alphadora among the Maximals and called out, "Catra! TERRORIZE!" She roared and stood on her hind legs as her tail detached, shifting to her side and segmenting into a long whip, coiling at her hip. Her front legs turned into her arms, with the paws opening up into clawed hands, the right hand gripping her whip tightly. Her Lion-head split in two at the jaws, both jaws surrounding her face as the ears and eyes of her Lion head formed over her forehead into a headpiece. Her mane ended up flipping around across the back of her head, forming the appearance of wild hair.
"Chargebreak, TERRORIZE!" Chargebreak slammed her front legs into the ground as her body stood up on them, her bull head and horned shifting up to her chest. Her Hind legs slid to her sides and her hooves opened up into her hands, which gripped her Horns and detached them, forming a pair of Maces. Her tail split into several parts as her head slid up, which folded across her head to form the appearance of Dreadlocks.
Lastly, Reptillo snarled out a distorted Reptilian hiss, vaguely sounding like him calling out his activation phrase. He stood on his hind legs as his body stood up staight, with his front legs extending into arms with clawed hands, and his hind legs extending into full bipedal legs. His head remained reptilian, though a more humanoid neck lifted it off his body and tilted it to face forward. He let out a snarl as he got ready for battle.
The two factions stared one another down for only a moment, before charging towards one another, intending to do battle.
To Be Continued….
So uh….This is probably the WEIRDEST Universe to set She-Ra in, and the strangest method of doing it. This chapter is primarily to test the waters on this concept. If you guys enjoy it, please let me know. I would also like to apologize for Characterization this chapter. I was focusing heavily on establishing the world and characters, I'll be sure to make the characterization much more solid next chapter onwards.
Just in cases it's not 100% clear, Here's a list of who the characters not using a variant of their She-Ra names are:
Aegishell – Kyle
Chargebreak – Lonnie
Reptillio – Rogellio
Orbweaver – Shadow Weaver(I know this one was obvious.)
EagleEye – Bow
Also, just because Kyle is an armored scarab does not mean he will be any more useful lol.
She-Ra and Transformers Beast Wars belong to their respective Owners. However these iterations of the characters are made by me.
Please refrain from She-Ra spoilers, however I am making good progress through the show by now.
Leave feedback if you enjoyed this. This one is more important than others since I'm very nervous about how this story will be received.
NEXT TIME – Maximals VS Predacons, a Warrior's New allegiance.
