AN: Thank you guys for your wonderful comments! I wanted to give you guys a bit of an update of what I am working on right now in terms of stories. Considering I am very active with my crossovers, I am currently working on, aside from this story, chapter 1 to the sequel of Madness, I am working on a rewrite to A Second Chance, chapter 7 to Her Warrior, as well as (slowly) figuring out the next move to The Human Among Us. (This one is going to take a while...) I am also going to try to sprinkle in some one-shots for my Wolf Pack Series and Vampire Series here and there. Brown Eyed Girl as well…and my Deadpool one….gosh I have a lot of stuff to either re-do or work on, but slowly but surely.
I am also considering a series for my Twilight/Crossover one-shots like Lost, At First Sight, etc. I don't know if I should break them into categories though, like one for Marvel, SPN, or DC related….IDK…
I have also started a Teen Wolf/Twilight crossover…. All it Took is the title.
So, you will see updates soon. Just bit by bit, whatever I'm getting myself into…enjoy!
Oh! To a reader that was curious about the Cullen's involvement… ;)
I'm done rambling!
Bye!
Chapter 5: In the Midst of it All
The second Tony landed, Bella pulled away, hunching over beside a plant, throwing up any food she may have had in her stomach. Tony's faceplate lifted, "You okay?" Tony whispered to Pepper. Pepper took in a deep breath, blinking rapidly.
"No, not really…check on Bella," She advised, turning away to wipe under her eyes. Tony kissed her hair and moved towards Bella. "Hey…" He murmured, frowning at her as she wiped her mouth. "I want to go with you," Tony furrowed his brow at her. Realizing what she was saying, he immediately shook his head.
"No. You're staying here. I don't care if I have to have Jarvis put the house on lockdown. You just went through a traumatic experience, we all did," He walked past her and into the house, hearing her following after him. "All the more reason for me to go. We can't even have a quiet funeral without someone coming to fuck it up. No matter where I go, there's someone out there that wants me dead. I'm safer with you, and you know it. I need to know why I had to see my friends die, why the parents of my friends aren't going home, and why…." Tony stopped her with a hand, turning back to face her.
He stared at her, ready to shut her down. Her brown eyes were wet, rimmed red, with a determined look on her face. "I can't run forever. I can't hide here. I want to be out there. I want answers, just as much as you. I need to know why my life got turned upside down. This is more than just you. Someone other than you, Charlie, and Renee, knew I existed. I need this. During the day, everything is fine, I'm keeping busy, which I know is your doing and I'm thankful, but at night…at night dad, my brain won't shut off…."
She tugged at her hair, sighing heavily. "Please," She asked softly. Tony ran a hand through his hair, staring down at her. "God kid, don't do the puppy dog eyes….get dressed in something comfortable. Sneakers. Down here in 5. You up to fly again?"
Bella frowned. "I have no other choice, do I?" Tony shook his head. Bella sighed but went to move past him. "Bella…" He gently grabbed her arm. She looked up at him, waiting. He tapped her temple. "This is all you, you control this. I'm here, don't forget that,"
He brought her into a hug, kissing her forehead before letting her go. Tony worked on getting out of the prototype suit and getting into his current one. He set Pepper up with a flight to his Miami home, making sure Happy accompanied her.
He pulled her into his arms, placing a kiss on her lips, leaning his forehead against hers. "Be careful," She whispered. He nodded, sending her off. As he was pulling together some last-minute things, Bella came down ready to go. He nodded at her choice of wear, and she followed him into his workshop.
As they were walking to the landing pad, Bella noticed an arc reactor prototype. "Dad, what's this?" Tony turned around, brows raising. "I almost forgot. I ran with your theory, and I found an atomic structure in my father's files. I followed it, and…that's it…"
Bella carefully lifted it, gazing at it. "Have you tested it?" She asks, looking up at him as he takes it from her. "No, not yet," He gently set it down. "I haven't modified the suit to fit it yet," Jarvis interrupted, "Actually sir, I followed your diagram, and modified one of your latest models," Bella's brows rose. "He can do that?" She whispers, turning in awe as an identical suit to his own rose from a compartment under the floor.
"I applied a filter to the end temporarily to fit in your chest," Tony looked to the time, "Let's make this quick," Jarvis helped Tony out of the suit and opened the new one for him to step in. Tony grabbed the filter, and Bella handed him the arc reactor.
Bella watched curiously as Tony twisted the arc reactor from his chest, pulling it out. She rushed to grab it from him. "What happens when you don't insert…." She trailed off, motioning towards the arc reactor. "Oh, cardiac arrest, no biggie," He dismissed casually. "Tony! No biggie my ass, put it in!" She said panicking a bit.
"I thought I was dad," He grumbled, attaching the arc reactor, pushing and twisting it in. He jerked for a moment as it snapped in place, and Bella sat down his current arc reactor on the workbench, going to his side. It glowed brighter, and Bella looked at him cautiously as he blinked a few times.
"Well?" She whispers. Tony glanced at her, "It tastes like coconut…and metal…" He smacked his lips together, nodding. "Jarvis, how are we looking?" He asked. "Everything is within normal range. Testing the palladium toxicity," Bella bit on her lip as Jarvis did his testing. The result came up on the screen.
Bella looked at it but had no idea what it meant. "What does that mean?" She asks nervously. Tony chuckled. "It means you're a fucking genius," He murmured proudly. "Let's go," He got himself into his new suit, and Bella followed him out onto his landing pad. "You know, if I were to see you in the dark like this…I'd be creeped out…"
The faceplate over his face closed, and Tony chuckled. "Don't upchuck, k?" He grabbed ahold of her, and Bella wrapped her arms around his neck. "Wait! Can you give me a countdown?" She asks, taking in a deep breath.
"Okay, on 3. Ready?" Tony asked. Bella nodded, squeezing tighter. "1…2…" With that, Tony shot into the air, laughing as Bella screamed. "WHAT HAPPENED TO 3?!" He activated the thrusters, flying faster. "YOUa NEVER GO BEFORE 3!" Bella shut her eyes, cursing under her breath. "You're definitely my kid," Tony chuckled.
After a few minutes, Tony slowed to a clearing, softly landing. His faceplate lifted, and he let Bella go. Her hair was windswept, face paler than usual, her eyes wide. "You good?" He asked, watching as she gave him a thumbs up.
Waiting for them were Natasha, Phil, and Thor. Bella gave Tony the stink eye as she realized they'd be in a jet. She let Phil lead her on, and strap her in. As Phil was explaining to her how the seats work, she noticed a blonde man standing off to the side.
Noticing her stare, he held out a hand. "Steve Rogers. Nice to officially meet you Ms. Stark. I would like to give my condolences…I heard what happened today," Bella shook it, "Thank you," After everyone got on, she noticed Thor and Steve standing, neither of them bothering to strap in.
Tony plopped beside her and chuckled at her expression. "We're way cooler than that," Bella tightly holds on to Tony's hand as the jet rises into the air. "I hate you so much right now," She whispered. Tony smiled proudly, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. "I love you too,"
She uncoiled a bit as the jet leveled out, and undid her seat strap, finding that it was okay to stand. She hesitantly moved behind the seat Natasha was in, her eyes widening. They were above the clouds, and everything was so clear; she was somewhat awed by it.
"Holy shit," She whispered. Natasha turned at her soft exclamation, shooting her a smirk. "Kind of cool right?" Bella nodded. "Definitely different when you're in a closed space," They entered a period of turbulence, and Bella rocked on her feet.
She hastily made her way back to the bench, a hand steadying her along the way, but she didn't look back to see. Tony gave her an amused glance. "How did you do on plane rides?" Bella shrugged. "I fell asleep on most of them,"
Tony just hummed before turning serious. "When we get there, with me at all times. Whoever they have in custody, I don't want you alone with them. No debate on this one," Bella nodded in agreement. "Do you think this Hammer person is behind this?" Tony shrugged. "I think he's just the face of it. I think there's someone larger at work pulling the strings. As you said, this is bigger than me. I just don't know what someone can obtain by targeting you,"
Bella frowned. "Someone who wants you to suffer. Happy told me that Ivan Vanko targeted you because Howard got his father deported for trying to sell what he and Howard were working on. I think that's whosever's goal this is. Suffering. Okay, say that Hammer wants control, okay, that's easy. Copy you. But if he's a pawn like you think he is, who wants you to lose everything? Who's attacking your heart?"
She tapped the arc reactor. "Who wants this light to go out?"
Tony sat back in silence, mulling over what she said. Bella looked up as Thor came to sit next to her. He was in his Asgardian attire, his Hammer in his hand.
"I bet you're happy to be back in your clothes," She motions towards him. "Much," He agreed. "Want to know the first thing I said to him?" Tony asked, and Bella nodded, knowing it was going to be something stupid.
"Does Mother know you wearest her drapes?" Bella's eyes widened, and she snickered. "Dad! Not cool," Tony shrugged.
Thor rolled his eyes. "You're like a man-child," Bella snickered. "No, I'm a genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist…" Bella raised a brow. "Guess that's how I got here," Tony just snorted, sending her a wink.
Bella and Thor continued to chat quietly. "You saved my life. Again," She murmured thankfully. Thor smiled down at her. His baby blue eyes were bright, reminding her of the ocean. "It's my job," Bella smiled. "So, why exactly are you all here? Is there something bigger going on?" Tony asked, looking to Steve.
"Fury thinks he's got a location on Loki and Barton. The casualty at the funeral has upped this to a Level 3 in security. Your daughter is right. Someone wants you to suffer. The councilman of New York was injured in the shooting. They've crossed political lines. He wants you to consider putting her in Witness Protection,"
Bella snapped her head up at Steve. "No," Tony and Thor chorused. "I have to agree. Witness Protection is undergoing another identity, yes? She is under better protection with us. The authorities were barely able to handle themselves and if it were not for Tony, everyone would be dead," Thor explained, coming to a stand.
"We agree on something. I'm not trusting anyone with her safety. I have no idea who is on my side or against me. No, out of the question," Tony came to a stand as well, and Steve held his hands up. "Don't shoot the messenger,"
Natasha's voice floated onto the speakers, "Sorry to interrupt your discussion boys, but take a seat. We're landing in T-minus 2 minutes," Bella strapped herself in, feeling that drop in her stomach. "Ms.," Steve called, and Bella raised her brows as he tossed her a piece of gum. "It helps,"
Bella nodded, hurriedly unwrapping the gun, placing it in her mouth. She gave him a thumbs up. "Bella!" She called as the engine roared.
The jet came down in a slow, and swift motion, hitting solid ground. Bella unstrapped herself, and the landing door opened. She followed after Tony as he stepped off first. It was a little steep for her liking stepping off.
The traction of her shoes caused her to slide down a bit, and she mentally cursed her balance. Before she could fall on her butt, Thor was behind her, a hand on her lower back to keep her upright. She just glowered at him as he chuckled.
"Laugh it up," She grumbled. She made it down, looking around at the fighter jets. "Is that water?" She hears Steve ask, and she curiously follows beside him. They peer over the edge along with Bruce who stepped off his own jet. "This is a submarine?" She heard Bruce mutter to himself.
She couldn't help but grab their sleeves as the ship or whatever they were on started to whir and make noise. "I'd advise you three to come inside!" Natasha advised with a smirk. Bella was already making her way towards Tony who was out of his suit and waiting for her.
Bella took a quick glance behind her, seeing that they were rising in the air. "Great, another plane," She snarked, following Tony inside. Her eyes widened at the inside, seeing people on computers and an agent standing in the middle giving orders. "I retract my statement," She murmurs.
Natasha leads them to a black table where Thor is already waiting. Steve takes a seat, and Bruce remains standing, looking around as well. "You two, this way," Natasha beckons them on, and they followed her down a series of halls and rooms. Fury was waiting, looking through a glass.
They came to a stop beside him, and Tony reared back in surprise. "How did you get him in here?" Bella looked to Tony, then into the room where a man with short, light brown hair sat, chained to the table. "Is that Justin Hammer?"
Fury nodded. "The one and only. This is your only chance to talk to him before we have to turn him over to the military. He's a simple pawn, but you may be able to get something out of him," Bella took a step back as Tony rolled up his sleeves, heading inside, the door closing behind him.
Fury flipped a switch which cut on the audio. Fury looked down at Bella for a moment. Bella gave him hesitant smile, finding him to be very intimidating. He nudged his head, an indication that he wanted her to follow. She followed after him with Natasha in tow. He went to the very end, showing her a young man. "His name is Nathan Harding. He was one of the shooters at the funeral. I know you want some answers. He won't talk to us, but he looks to be in your age range, maybe you can get through to him. Agent Romanoff will accompany you; he's contained and is no threat,"
He assured with a nod. Bella bit her lip, looking back in the area Tony was in. "I'll handle him," Bella looked at Nathan through the glass, meeting his green eyes. He was dressed in a black hoodie, black jeans, and a black watch sat on his wrist. He was bald, and had orange looking veins on the side of his neck.
"Okay," She whispers, and follows Natasha inside. The door shuts behind them, and there are two seats in front of him. Bella sits in the one closest to the door, and Natasha opts to stand, holding her arms in front of her.
Bella scoots forward a bit, eyeing Natasha. She gives Bella a reassuring nod. His hands were clasped in front of him, and Bella leaned forward, resting her hands on the metal table.
"My name is Bella," She whispers, clearing her throat. "I think you know who I am. I personally don't care who you are. I want to know what you want. Who do you work for? Hammer?" Nathan chuckled, licking his bottom lip in amusement. "What's so funny?" Natasha asks, her eyes narrowing. She couldn't explain it, but something didn't feel right.
"You think I work for him?" Nathan asks, a hint of Russian in his voice. Bella shrugs. "You tell me. What are you aiming for?" She stares at him, hoping he'd tell her anything that could help them. "I'm just following orders, but my boss wants me to give you a message," He uses his fingers in come hither motion.
Bella looked to Natasha again, and she moves to stand a bit closer. She gives a nod, and Bella leans forward, feeling Nathan's lips at her ear. "I think it's time for a family reunion," Bella frowns, mulling over what that could possibly mean.
His watch starts to beep, making her jump. Bella pulled away as Nathan started laughing. Natasha backed away slowly, eyeing his neck as patches of what looked like orange patches of light started appearing on his skin. His face starts to glow, and Bella starts to push back from the table. He grabs Bella's hands, the chains snapping. They hear a tear of metal, and Natasha draws her weapon, only to drop it as Nathan jerks his hand backwards, a piece of the table in his hand as he thrusts it into her leg. He violently pulls it out, his other hand gripping Bella's, pushing it flat down as he stabs her through the hand with the sharp end.
Her eyes water, and the pain is so excruciating that she can't even muster a scream, shocked at the gruesome turn of events. They both look to Nathan as he grabs the handle to the door, melting it off and breaking the lock.
It starts to get really hot, and it's not hard to see that Nathan is literally about to explode. Natasha quickly composes herself and leans over the table, gripping the table piece, pulling it out of her hand. Bella comes to a stand, and Natasha starts to pull the table from its hinges.
Despite her injury, Bella grits her teeth through the pain, helping her get it unattached. Nathan's laugh became a pained one, and they held up the table just in time as he went off like a time bomb, the force knocking Bella and Natasha through the tempered glass.
Red lights went off as it created a literal hole in the wall, and everything that was within the room went flying. They both hit the wall, sliding down to the floor. Agents had suddenly turned up with guns and a barrier to seal the hole. Two agents helped them off the floor, and Bella cradled her hand to her chest.
The remaining members of the team came running their way, and Tony left his interrogation room, his eyes widening at the chaos he seemed to miss.
Bella winced as Bruce carefully stitched up her hand, her eyes going to her father who had Fury against the wall. "What the fuck were you thinking?!" He hissed, glaring at Fury. "He said he'd only talk to her, and we needed some answers," Fury stated calmly.
"Answers?! You could have gotten her killed! He fucking blew up!" Tony yelled angrily, pushing away from Fury. "I know that, and if I would have known that he was some atomic bomb I wouldn't have sent her in there. She's fine,"
Tony gave him an incredulous look. "She has a hole through her hand!" Bella turned back towards Bruce. She noticed the heart rate on his watch. "Are you alright?" She asks softly. Bruce nods. "I'm fine, thanks. How's the pain?" Bella shrugs. "Can hardly feel it," She murmurs.
Bruce chuckled. "Part of the morphine I gave you. Good," He wrapped her hand in some medicated gauze. "This will do for now, but you can go to a hospital and have them take out the stitches in a few weeks. Until then, this is how you'll wrap it, and you'll need antibiotic cream to keep it from getting infected. Keep it secure so your skin can heal. It will scar,"
Bella nodded. "Got it," He smiled down at her, letting her hop down. "Next," He called out to Natasha who took Bella's place. She looked for Tony, and Steve laid a hand on her shoulder. "He went to blow off some steam. You okay?" Bella nodded, and Steve steered her to the area they were in where everyone was sitting.
She smiled at him as he went back to speak to Fury. Bella pulled up a seat next to Thor who was staring off into space. "Hey…" She murmured, waving a hand in front of his face. He blinked a few times before turning to look at her.
His eyes darkened a fraction as he looked at her hand. He met her eyes again, swiping a few strands of her hair behind her ear. Bella blushed, looking away from him for a moment. "Trouble seems to find you at every corner Miss Bella," Bella shrugged. "Well, what can I say? I'm a danger magnet," She chuckled.
Thor chuckled as well. "I hardly find this amusing, but it is sadly the truth,"
"Good thing I have a superhero for a father, right?" Thor slowly nodded in agreement. "Let's not forget me, the trusty bodyguard," He puffed out his chest, making Bella laugh. "Are you sure? My bodyguards wear black," He gave her an annoyed look. "It is so uncomfortable," Bella motioned towards his attire. "And this isn't?"
Thor shook his head. "I'll have you know, this is Asgard's finest leather," Bella felt along the fabric, finding that it was incredibly soft. "This is leather?" Thor nodded. "Hmmm," She snorted. He nervously cleared his throat, gathering her attention.
"When all this is said and done, and there isn't a day where you are in imminent danger, would you like to get dinner?" Bella's face flamed red, and she smiled, wanting to give him a little hell. She tapped her chin.
"Hmmm. Dinner huh? Don't we usually get dinner every night?" Thor chuckled at her joke, tilting his head at her. "I think you know that I mean by ourselves, not as your bodyguard, but as a…mmm a date,"
Bella softly laughed. "I'd love to," She replied. She stood from her seat, leaning down to kiss his cheek. As she left, Thor leaned back heavily in the seat. Phil sent him a thumbs up and a nod.
Bella had finally found Tony in one of the computer rooms, going over something SHIELD had in their computers. "Are the lights on?" She asks softly. He looked up at her, pushing whatever he was reading on the side.
"How's the hand?" Bella raised it up with a shrug. "Stings a bit. You're okay now?" Tony heavily sighed. "Yeah. I never wanted you to see me like that. He had no right," Tony shook his head. "You're right, but I got some information before he…burst….and I think it has something to do with mom,"
Tony flashed his eyes to hers. "What are you saying?" He asked, some part of him not wanting to know. "He said we need to have a family reunion…. what else could that mean?" Tony frowned. "She wouldn't," He said immediately.
Bella leaned against the table next to him. "I want to believe you, but…she didn't want me, who is to say she cares about what happens to me?"
Tony shook his head again.
"She wouldn't willingly go out of her way to kill you. What does she gain from that?" Bella sighed, chewing on her lip. "Who is she?" Bella asks, wanting to know the name of the woman that brought her on this Earth. Tony wrinkled his nose. "Only if you promise not to go looking for her by yourself,"
Bella held out her pinky, and Tony just glanced at it as if baffled. "What? You said promise,"
He let out a deep breath. "Maya Hansen,"
Pepper smiled, straightening Bella's hair. "There you go. You look beautiful," She whispered. Bella smiled at her through the mirror. "Thank you. Are you sure that tonight is a good night? I know Dad's been busy locating mom, and this research involving Nathan's combustion," She said, smoothing down her dress.
"It's fine Bella. Tony wants you to go out, have a good time, and not to worry about anything. It's been 2 weeks since the incident, and things have kind of cooled down a bit. Take it while you can," Pepper handed Bella her purse. "I'm kind of nervous. I haven't been on a date in well….ever except like once,"
Pepper smiled brightly, twirling Bella around. "Don't be nervous. Thor is sweet, and I think he really likes you. He's always asking Tony or myself what kind of flowers you like or your favorite places," Bella blushed as Pepper clued her in.
"Well go on, you have reservations at 6," Pepper waved her on out of her room. Bella stopped in surprise as Tony was waiting for her at the elevator. Tony whistled. He hit the button on the elevator and smiled as she came forward. He held out his arm for her to take. "You clean up nice honey,"
"Thanks," She replied softly. "Have a good night, have fun, not too much fun…" Bella's eyes widened. "Dad!" Tony chuckled. "I'm kidding. Be safe, and I'll see you later," The elevator doors opened, and Tony placed a kiss on her cheek, giving Thor a hard look.
He knew Thor was a big softy on the inside and would treat his daughter with the respect she deserves, but he was still her father, even if that meant giving a god, the I'll hurt you look.
Bella was in a red, classy, cocktail dress, with black flats, light red, glittery eye shadow over her eyelids, and light mascara. Thor was waiting for her with a single rose, dressed in a black tux. He bowed towards her, handing her the rose.
"Thank you," She replies, taking it from him. He lends her his arm causing her to giggle as they left the tower into an awaiting car. He opened the door for her, letting her slide in, before getting in behind her. There was a privacy window up, and soft music played.
Bella grinned at the choice of music. She looked to Thor, patting the spot next to her. "Relax," She says, shooting him a smile. He scoots over to sit next to her, his shoulders relaxing a bit. The car began to move, and Bella sat the rose in her hair, sniffing it one more time.
"I'm curious. Why did you ask me to dinner?" She asks, turning a bit to face him. Thor softly chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. "I find you to be rather interesting, quite beautiful, and wish to get to know you on a more intimate level,"
Bella warmed at his words, and she opened up a bit to him about her experience in dating. Like her father, Thor found Edward to be an absolute idiot, verbally pointing it out that one was a fool to leave a girl like Bella behind. Thor wasn't afraid to admit that he had courted a few women back on Asgard, though he didn't go into detail as there wasn't much to talk about there.
Bella was flattered that he was honest, and they joked and laughed along the way. Soon the car was pulling to a stop at this new Italian restaurant, that Bella had been just dying to try out. She chuckled, never knowing two men who listened so well.
A chauffeur opened her door, grasping her hand to let her out. Thor followed, easily towering over her as he held out his arm for her to take. She curled her hand around his bicep, realizing that he was pure muscle. She experimentally squeezed, missing the smirk that flashed across his face.
He walked her inside, and the atmosphere was light, fancy, and vibrant. The desk manager smiled at them as they walked in. "Reservation?" They asked politely, their smile widening as they noticed Bella. "Stark for 2 please," Thor said, looking around, his eyes quickly sweeping the semi-full restaurant.
He made eye contact with Happy who gave him a single nod. "Right away, your table awaits," They were led to the side of the restaurant that faced the front, so you could see everyone coming or going. They were given menus, and Bella went to grab her seat, but Thor beat her to it by pulling it out for her, pushing her in.
"I didn't know God's were so well mannered," She says. "I wasn't raised as a barbarian," He says, making Bella laugh. She cleared her throat, looking around the room, blushing as some people glanced over at her.
Happy held up the menu a bit higher, looking down at the text on his phone.
How's it going?
She's laughing so…good I guess. Never met a father who was this invested in his daughter's date who is a god might I add…what sort of trouble could they possibly get into?
Happy would regret asking that question.
Bella and Thor had talked during their date, and Thor tried out the best Midgardian jokes he could muster. They ate and danced a bit as live music was playing near the back of the restaurant. Thor would twirl Bella around before dipping her back, catching her with the back of his hand.
They were genuinely having a good time.
Then it started raining.
Happy had followed the two as they left the restaurant, and he knew that Bella knew he was around as she would glance back every so often to see him and smile.
Bella laughed as she and Thor turned the corner, the cool rain lightly falling in a slight drizzle. "He's so going to kill us," She states, peeking around to corner at the mass of people. Thor just watched her for a moment as she breathed heavily, a smile on her face.
She turned to him again, her brown eyes lighting up as she caught him staring at her. "This was fun," She admits. She wasn't sure if this would lead them to dating, but she liked spending time around Thor and being herself. She wouldn't think about what would come of it.
He shrugged out of his jacket and put it around her shoulders. "Thank you," She replies, and she notices Thor step off to the side. "Stay here," He says, holding out a hand for her to stay put. Bella waits, as he holds out his hand.
Back at Stark Tower, Pepper and Tony are softly talking when they see a silver blur rush by. It went towards the balcony, breaking a vase along the way. "He's so paying for that," Tony mumbled.
Bella held onto Thor as they landed on top of a building, overlooking the city below. "I don't think I'll be able to top this one," Bella jokes, bumping her arm against Thor's. The rain hadn't let up, and the drizzle had come down a bit harder.
"So there is another date in store?" He asks, his blue eyes regarding her with curiosity and mirth. Bella chuckled. "I don't see why not. You're not a bad dance partner that's for sure," Thor laughed, and it reminded Bella of a deep rumbling.
"And here I thought it was for my good looks," Bella rolled her eyes, a smile playing on her face. "Watch it Casanova," She murmurs, sending him a wink. "You're much mature for your age," He notes. Bella nods. "So I've been told. I've always been the caregiver, so it's a bit different not having to do that anymore. Dad has people do things for him, and even with Pepper by his side, he manages to do things on his own. I've got to learn to receive then," She shrugs.
"It's nice up here," She says, pointing towards where she could see home. "I wonder if he knows how bright that thing is," Thor shrugged. "Probably," Bella leans over the railing a bit to look down, awed at the lights.
She shifted closer to Thor as it started to get a bit chilly. He knew should get her home so she wouldn't get sick. He tentatively wrapped an arm around her shoulders, smiling a bit as she leaned into him.
Before she knew it, Thor was raising his hammer, and a blinding light cast across the sky. The light cleared, and Bella found herself outside of Tony's balcony by the pool.
They were both just about soaking wet at this point, but neither cared. Thor leaned down, gently pressing his lips against hers. Bella pulled him by the shirt, standing on the tips of her toes. When the need to breathe took over, Bella pulled away. "Goodnight Thor. We should do this again sometime," She handed him his jacket and made her way inside before she could get any wetter.
She eyed Happy coming inside, shaking off his umbrella. He gave her an annoyed look. "If it helps, we almost got you some dessert," She all but skipped off to the elevator, a smile on her face for once.
Happy just shook his head.
AN: So, ending a little light here despite the tense beginning. If anyone is wondering who Maya is, she was the woman from Iron Man 3. I realized as I'm writing, I'm putting this more in with Iron Man 3 than 2…so just look at it as all 2/3 in one.
Thor and Bella went on a date and had a good time. I will be taking my time with them, so there will be more dates in store. What do you think Maya has to do with this? Is she as innocent as she was in the movies? We shall see….Until next time.
