A/N Hey guys, I hope you're ready because Eric is going to be the one who's kidnapped by the Shishigumi in this story, not Haru so that Yakuza group has no idea who they'll be messing with since they're basically going to make an enemy out of a very dangerous person, so sit back and enjoy because this chapter will go through a couple of episodes of the anime since it'll be in Eric's POV most of the time.
After the events of last night, I was now conflicted and frustrated by what's going on between me and Legoshi since I had concluded that we were never meant to be together because of what I did to him, but that just made me feel worse and it was putting me in an irritable mood most of the day, now I was with Haru and we were going to leave the academy so that we could take the train to where the festival was since it was almost ready to begin soon.
"So, did you and that wolf kiss yet?" Haru asked suddenly, causing me to sharply inhale and I began coughing while patting my chest since saliva went down the wrong pipe as other students stared at me weirdly until I managed to recover.
"E-Excuse me? I have no clue what you're talking about because Legoshi and I are just friends," I evaded nervously while I avoided looking at the rabbit, my face turning red from embarrassment at the thought of doing that with the wolf as Haru smirked and gently elbows my side while giggling at my flustered expression.
"Hey, we both know that's a major lie and I've known for a while that you have feelings for him, so you and he haven't done anything yet, huh?" Haru questioned before a small frown appeared on my features.
"Of course we haven't because he and I are just friends, so it's better that way for the both of us," I respond as Haru looked unamused.
"For him or you?" Haru asked, her tone slightly accusatory and I furrowed my eyes in confusion.
"What the hell do you mean by that? It's better for both of us since a human and a wolf shouldn't be in a relationship, not to mention that I'll just be in his way," I said stubbornly and Haru didn't look moved by my words.
"Are you sure about that?" Haru inquired, then I had enough and let out a groan before looking at her.
"What are you trying to imply, Haru?" I questioned, sounding a little defensive.
"Well, I think you're only doing that to yourself because you're so scared to get close to somebody that you won't even take the risk to let someone see behind those walls you've put up, and I'm not talking about the whole amnesia thing either," Haru pointed out, her voice and expression firm as I was shaken by what she said, not because she was saying it so calmly but because she might be right as her eyes started holding a glint of compassion.
"You're already scared about forming friendships because of something you're keeping close to your chest so having a romantic or intimate relationship almost seems impossible to you and that's why, even though you're clearly in love with this boy, you won't take the next step and actually be with him.
Do you know what your problem is? You can't live with the idea that someone might leave you and you're scared that once people see who you are, they'll abandon you and leave you behind to pick up the pieces," Haru pointed out with her gaze stern and serious, and I didn't have an answer for that because I knew she was right.
'Dammit, why did she have to be right? Now I'm even more conflicted than I was before,' I thought in frustration as Haru suddenly grabs my hand and pulls me forward.
"Come on, we need to catch our train," Haru urged before we moved even faster to the station.
A short time later, I made sure security didn't see me as we arrived at the station and got onto our train, then we soon arrived at our destination and went our separate ways while Haru went to her booth to work on her plants while I mostly hauled the equipment backstage until I was done and approached Dom.
"Hey Dom," I greeted as I walked up to the peafowl, seeing a smile on his face once he sees me.
"Hey Eric, what's up?" Dom replied warmly.
"I'm done moving the equipment backstage, so would it be alright if I left right now to help a friend with her booth?" I asked, then Dom looked surprised but he eventually nods.
"Huh? Sure, I think we can handle the rest so I'll send someone to get you if we need your help, now what club is she in?" Dom inquired curiously.
"The gardening club, and it's just her as the only member, which is why I wanted to offer a helping hand," I answered with a smile before the peafowl perked up.
"Alright, off you go then," Dom said as he patted my shoulder, making me chuckle before I sent him a single wave and make my way towards Haru's booth.
Even though the rabbit's doing pretty well on her own, it wouldn't hurt to help out a little since it would be a nice way to spend the afternoon, not to mention that I'm in the mood to see some nice flowers right now as I continued walking to where Haru's booth was at.
Sure enough, it didn't take long for me to get there and sure enough, the plants are blooming with life and vibrancy as roses, lilies, orchids, sunflowers, and so many others greet me with their colorful petals as I checked to see if Haru was around.
She wasn't in my line of sight but I hear a soft cute humming coming from behind the wooden stand and with a devious grin, I sneak around the back and catch sight of the rabbit softly singing a melody as she rearranges a group of flowers in a vase, then my grin widens as I got closer and went to cover her eyes with my hands as she squeaked in surprise.
"Guess who," I said playfully, just before Haru removes my hands from her eyes and turned around to look at me.
"Very funny, now what are you doing here?" Haru asked as she tried to look unphased by what I did, but I knew that she was amused by my antics as I cleared my throat.
"Well, I was wondering if I could help you with anything since I'm kind of done with club duties at the moment and I know it's just you here, so I wanted to help out a little," I offered before Haru started to narrow her eyes suspiciously.
"Are you sure this isn't about you running away from your crush?" Haru questioned, and I was slightly taken aback by that since I surprisingly haven't seen Legoshi today so I shook my head.
"Not really, I just wanted to offer a helping hand if you're alright with it," I answered, then Haru smirks at my response.
"Alright, I'll believe you for now so thank you, now you can start by spraying the plants in the front since they need the humidity, then it'd be really helpful if you could move some of the larger flower pots from the back to the front," Haru instructed as she gestured at the large brown baskets a few yards away until I nodded.
"Got it," I said as I gave her a thumbs-up, making her snicker as I made my way back to the front with a spray bottle in my hands.
The sun shines right into my face as I step out of the booth and I raise a hand to shield my eyes, the chirping of the crickets and other wildlife serving as my background music while I got started with the spray bottle and worked on the plants. It was peaceful being with the flowers like this, but I couldn't have been taking care of the lilacs for more than two minutes when I sensed that someone was behind me.
"Eric," a familiar deep voice greeted, then I paused at that since I knew that I would have to face him eventually.
'Shit, this is kind of awkward and I was hoping to keep avoiding you for the entire time, Lego-head,' I thought as I nervously went to turn around with a friendly smile on my face.
"Hey Legoshi, how-" I started to say, only I stopped when I saw a tissue stuffed in his right nostril and quickly asked, "Damn, what the hell happened to you? Did you get into a fight and does it hurt?"
"No, it's just a nosebleed," Legoshi reassured me as he crouched on the ground and looked up at me, appearing very much like an overgrown pup.
After that, silence wedges itself between us and it's not usually like that normally so, even though I'm guessing that it's just me and the stupid anxiety issues that I've developed ever since I woke up without my memories, my gut tells me that something's off today in general and not just with me and the wolf.
"Hey Eric," Legoshi speaks suddenly, catching me slightly off guard.
"Yeah?" I asked before Legoshi started looking anxious with lowered ears and avoids eye contact with me.
"Well, uh, the truth is, um...Eric, I think I-I'm in lov-" Legoshi started to say, then panic flared up within me as my eyes bugged out before I cut him off.
"Oh shit, these mosquitos are really vicious today!" I yelled suddenly, frantically scratching my arms while I was trying not to let him finish.
'Son of a bitch, this is bad! Holy shit, what am I doing?! What is he doing?! Why the fuck are we even going there?!' I thought while I was freaking out from what was happening.
"Hm? It's not that bad," Legoshi said with a puzzled look.
"Y-You can't see them!" I replied loudly, then felt like banging my head against a wall since I was only digging myself into a bigger grave at this point.
"I could smell them," Legoshi pointed out.
"You only have one nostril, Lego-head!" I argued, then Legoshi grimaces and sheepishly glances to the side.
"Yeah...anyway, well, I really like you and-" Legoshi tried to say and I cut him off again.
"Oh crap, I forgot I really need to get those flower pots so how stupid of me!" I exclaimed while dramatically slapping my hand against my head.
Stiffly, but trying and failing to make my posture seem casual and unbothered, I head towards the back and into the direction of the large flower pots that Haru wanted me to move as I heard Legoshi following close behind, no doubt very confused by my bizarre behavior.
"Hey, are you ignoring me on purpose? How come?" Legoshi questioned in confusion, desperately trying to get my attention and I heard him moving from side to side when I refuse to meet his gaze.
"No, I'm not ignoring you...okay, maybe I am but it's not really your business since a lot is going on right now and then you decide to talk about this with a tissue stuffed up your nose! Your timing is so damn unbelievable, do you know that?!" I lectured as I tried to get away from the large wolf, then he suddenly grabbed my arm and brings me to a stop before I nervously glance back at him and find nothing but sincere affection and honesty in his dark eyes.
"Eric, I don't want my feelings for you to hurt you in any way because I cherish you and I respect Louis-senpai so I meant you no harm, especially...in this day and age and, uh...I have something to say so could you please hear me out?" Legoshi told me while I was confused by him bringing Louis up.
Either way, I didn't have it in me to say no since a part of me wants to hear it, to hear that someone actually fell in love with me since I hadn't expected it to happen when I first arrived in this country, but another part of me doesn't want him to say it since I was too scared that it'll be the final nail in the coffin and that I'll never be able to let him go afterward. Still, I didn't run when his hand leaves my arm and I stand in front of him, his eyes staring into mine.
"So, since the festival...is tomorrow, let's meet in front of the meteor at sunset since I want to tell you exactly how I feel. I get it if it's too sudden...but do you think that by tomorrow, you'd be ready for the two of us to talk tomorrow?" Legoshi asks and I bit my lip while I contemplated what he said.
'Fuck, he's acting so mature about it...Lego-head, can you stop being perfect husband material because I'm trying my best to keep my fucking composure! Shit, he's waiting for an answer so what the hell do I say to that?
Okay? Yes? No? What the fuck do I do?!' I thought, feeling conflicted yet again as Legoshi waited patiently for my response until I grimaced.
"Oh...okay," I answered hesitantly before Legoshi perked up.
"Then I'll see you tomorrow," Legoshi told me until I put up a fake smile to hide how I really felt right now.
"O-Okay, I-I'll be here so I hope your nose gets better," I stuttered slightly, waving at him one last time as he begins to walk away and I watched as he vanished from my line of sight before I facepalm once he's gone.
"Okay, I'll be here?! Who says that?! Dammit, this is so fucking confusing that I don't know what to do!" I groaned in disbelief as I anxiously scratched the back of my head, proceeding to head over to a tree that's a little farther away from the booths and the bark irritates my skin through the fabric of my polo shirt as I lean against it until I let out a sigh of frustration.
'Dammit, I've never had boy problems before...at least, I don't think I have since I can't remember but the only thing I've experienced is people problems these past few months, though this is on a whole other level of nerve-wracking!
What the hell do I do? I-I don't know if this is a good idea, any of this so am I even fit to be in a relationship right now? No, what the fuck am I thinking?! I need to let him go, but...oh goddammit, he says that he means no harm but doesn't he see that it's impossible?
As long as society is as it is now, we'll only hurt ourselves if we try to swim against the current so I don't have anything to lose but you, Legoshi, your entire future could fall apart if we pursue this stupid attraction.
But, I want to be selfish...I want to hold you close and if there's a chance for us, I want to be by your side so I don't know what to-' I thought stressfully, just before I was suddenly grabbed and my thoughts are overrun by panic after that.
My mouth was quickly covered to prevent me from screaming for help as I began to struggle to get loose, forcing the kidnapper to tighten his hold on me as I flailed around in his grip, then I stopped suddenly and my eyes turned cold and detached before I elbowed the kidnapper in the solar plexus.
The unknown person let out a choking sound as his grip loosened and I reached back to throw him over my shoulder, the kidnapper hitting the ground hard and letting out a yelp from getting the breath knocked out of him, then I could see that it was a lion in a suit as I stomped him in the face to break his nose and nearly render him unconscious before the two other lions in similar suits came at me from both sides.
I quickly dodged their attempts to grab or tackle me and I responded by unleashing fast and nasty attacks that injured one and dazed the other as I grabbed the second one and threw him into the first one, sending a swift kick into the second one's chest that knocked both lions down in a pile of tangled limbs while they groaned in pain before I was suddenly stabbed by something sharp.
I let out a grunt and looked to see that my kidnapper had jabbed me with a syringe and injected me with something before I launched him into a tree with a roundhouse kick, causing the lion to collide into the trunk and bounce off it before crashing to the ground.
I pulled out the syringe and started feeling woozy as my vision began to get blurry while I swayed and struggled to stay conscious, understanding that I was injected with a powerful sedative and that I was about to pass out so I struggled to move towards the festival in the hopes that I would be safe since my kidnappers wouldn't risk trying to take me in such a populated area, only I was tackled to the ground with my watch being torn off my wrist and my head bounced against the ground before everything went black after that.
"I mean, I arranged that blackout for a reason so do you really think this is enough for the boss' dinner?" a male voice questioned as it stirred me from unconsciousness, then I groggily opened my eyes and my vision was blurry for a moment until it started clearing up slowly.
"Bastard busted up my nose and broke Free's ribs so this human better be worth it since his kind never leaves those communities of theirs, especially one as young and well trained as him," another voice said nasally, then I saw three pairs of feet wearing different expensive shoes and realized that I had been captured before the effects of the drugs wore off quickly because of the adrenaline flaring up in me and they seemed to figure out I was awake.
"Hey, face up!" a third voice yelled harshly as a rough hand grabs my hair and yank my head up, forcing me to look them in the eyes.
I prevented the yelp of pain to escape my mouth and opted to focus on the three male lions before me, refraining from glaring at them since the last thing I needed was to piss them off or show any kind of weakness because survival was my first priority as I studied the threats in front of me.
"From what I hear, human meat is out of this world so you're going to be delicious dinner," a lion said as he snickered, the male having a swept-back dark mane and sunglasses as I tensed up and acted.
I sent a foot into the lion's diaphragm, making him let go as he clutched the injury and coughed harshly while I spun around and bolted to the doors, vaulting over the sofa while I was being chased and hoped that the door was unlocked.
Unfortunately, when I slam against the door, it doesn't budge even though I kept pulling and pushing on the handle until I sensed danger, quickly moving my head to the left just as a knife lodges itself into the wood next to me with the blade maliciously glinting back at me.
I soon felt the threats behind me and grabbed the handle of the knife, yanking it out of the door just as my ankles were grabbed and was pulled onto the floor, sending me down and I let out a snarl as I rolled onto my back and slashed the lion on top of me.
The feline let out a yell of pain as he managed to move back to prevent getting killed, but he wasn't quick enough and I saw that I had cut the area above his eye with the nasty gash showing blood gushing out while he glares at me lividly with the other eye.
"You little shit!" the lion roared in fury as he grabbed ahold of me once more with another hurrying to take the knife from me before helping to hold me down.
"Fuck off, motherfuckers!" I shouted before kicking off the lion that was on top of me and elbowing the other in the crotch and causing him to let out a shrill scream as I rolled away from their reach.
Now standing with my back facing the wall beside the doors, I was suddenly calm and composed while all three lions were in my line of sight with one of them bleeding excessively from his eye and another twirled a knife as I studied them and came up with a plan to escape without realizing it, just before another door to the side slid open and revealed a balcony as an older lion stepped inside.
"What are you doing? Does it really take three full-grown lions to handle one little human?" the lion questioned, his voice rough and raspy from what I assume is the cigar in his mouth.
"Boss," the three lions greet respectfully, confirming my suspicions that he was in charge as their postures immediately turned from aggressive to submissive, putting me on edge since this man had them scared and he shouldn't be taken lightly because of it.
"Poor thing, I'm sorry if my boys treated you poorly so are you injured at all?" the chief lion asked as he stepped closer to me with his clawed hand held out in my direction, only my posture became defensive and I started letting out quiet growls to warn him to stay back before he retreated.
I was fully alert and watching the chief lion or the other three for any sudden moves, but I understood that the older one who's in charge is someone I needed to keep my guard up at all times since I could tell that he didn't need to be unnecessarily violent or loud to prove his status because he was sure of his position in the hierarchy of this group, then there was the fact that he was calculated and confident but not arrogant so that made him even more dangerous than the others here and I should play along for now since I had a feeling that pissing him off would get me killed even faster.
"No," I replied, my voice calm and even as I relaxed my posture to let him think that he had the upper hand, then the chief lion glanced back at the other three lions before letting out a sinister chuckle that sent a chill down my spine.
"I see you managed to land a hit on one of them and I heard that you broke the ribs and nose of two of my men, eh? You have the spirit of a warrior," the chief lion commented with a dark smirk.
I wasn't sure how to respond so all I managed to do was put up a fake smile to hide how terrified I truly was before the chief lion grinned back at me, and even though it wasn't predatory or worse in any way, it doesn't fail to make my skin crawl as he motions for me to follow him while I watched the other three felines leave the room with one last glance at me.
'Oh fuck, this is very bad,' I thought uneasily as I carefully did what the chief lion wanted me to do.
Soon after, I stood a few feet away from the large teal sofa, my arms loosely crossed as I stared down the feline predator who was sitting on the sofa, his posture relaxed and disgustingly confident while it was almost like he's sure that I'll go down like the vulnerable prey he saw me as.
His legs are crossed, one hand resting on his leg and the other on his cane, giving me a good view of his deadly claws so with the cigar in his mouth, the professionally styled mane, and the dark suit with the wine-red tie, he fits the stereotypical image of a mobster.
It had only taken me a second to observe and analyze the room I'm being held captive in, seeing gray marble tiles with fancy columns supporting the ceiling in the corners of the room while the walls are green and brown, built in the traditional Japanese style.
Behind me, the wall holds two intricate urns with one bronze and the other made of white porcelain while next to it, a pair of antlers is holding two katanas as two more swords are embedded into the wood next to it on each side, so if I play my cards right, I could use any one of them as a weapon.
"Now then, we're finally alone so don't worry, I'm not violent. You look awfully young, so how old are you?" the chief lion asked.
"Seventeen," I answered while my heart was steady and I was prepared to act once the chief lion got close to me, though I just had to keep his guard lowered for that to happen.
"So, you're in high school, and is that fun?" the chief lion inquired.
"Not really, you'd be surprised by how cruel and annoying teenagers can be, not to mention the stress that comes with the start of the exam season," I replied, knowing that it would be best to stay on his good side and hopefully entertain him for a little while longer to give me more time to develop an escape plan while the feline before me smiles lightly, making me highly uncomfortable as he nods at my answer.
"And are you attending any clubs?" the chief lion asked, then I shrugged.
"I'm in the drama club, though only in the art department since I'm no good on-stage and prefer to stay in the shadows," I explained, hoping that this asshole doesn't realize that my relaxed appearance is nothing more than an act while he nods once more, then it's silent for the moment and I started anticipating what his next words or movement is when he opened his mouth to say something.
"There's no need to worry, I promise that you have my full respect, now take off your clothes," the chief lion demands, making my eyes widen.
"E-Excuse me?" I questioned in bewilderment, not sure if I heard that correctly as the chief lion's gaze never leaves my form but his eyes narrow slightly and that was the only indication of his wavering patience.
"Take off your clothes on your own volition and prove to me how worthy you are as a fine meal, or would you rather have them force themselves on you?" the chief lion warned as I was more than sick by this disgusting bastard for what he wanted me to do, then I decided to try and stall for time so that I could put my escape plan into action.
"May I at least say something first as a last request?" I inquired, then the chief lion started smirking.
"Go ahead," the chief lion said, clearly humoring me at this point while looking intrigued and amused as I tried not to shudder from the look on his face.
"Tell me, have you ever eaten human meat before?" I questioned before the chief lion shook his head.
"I have not had the chance to taste your kind, only a handful of carnivores claimed to have devoured a human before and it is rumored that your species is a delicacy," the chief lion told me, then I managed to force down the bile that was rising up from what he was saying.
"You shouldn't believe what those carnivores said since they were probably lying to make themselves look better, not to mention that my species hasn't left their communities ever since they built them after the war ended so that's another sign that what you heard was a lie," I pointed out, then the chief lion looked thoughtful for a moment before he nodded.
"I see what you mean, but I didn't have my men bring you here for no reason and you've witnessed our operation so I can't let you go on the account of you telling somebody about this, now enough stalling so remove your clothes or I will have my men do it by force," the chief lion snapped, making me flinch at his irritated tone and I knew that his patience has run out so I had no choice but to comply.
"Okay, I'll do it and please don't stare," I begged, trying to keep my voice from faltering as I started avoiding eye contact and prayed that somebody would save me from this nightmare.
The chief lion nods but doesn't avert his eyes so I take that as a sign to get on with it while, in a way, I've already accepted that even though I might survive tonight, I wouldn't be able to escape this unscathed since this horrific experience would scar me for the rest of my life.
Slowly, I went and pulled my blue polo shirt over my head while I shivered from the hum of approval coming from the lion watching me, then I removed my white tank top and unbuckled my belt before kicking off my loafers and removing my pants until I was only left in my boxers and socks, then I hugged myself instinctively as the humiliation I was experiencing was horrible and the sadistic look of enjoyment on the chief lion's face didn't help.
"All of it, don't stop the flow of energy," the chief lion insisted sternly, then I held back my tears as I could barely hold back the bile in my throat.
Every fiber of my being wants to stop, to rather go down taking as many of these bastards with me as I could, but my will to survive was greater than my disgust and fear so, struggling not to sob, I comply and remove my boxers and socks.
"I want you to know that I don't want to do anything to disgrace you," the chief lion said and that cause revulsion to flare up in me.
'You've already done that and I don't give a shit what you want, you sick fuck!' I thought as I had the dark urge to beat this monster to death for humiliating me in such a manner, but I knew that it would be a death sentence if I so much as attempted it.
Covering my crotch with my hands, I stood tall and proud to not give this bastard the satisfaction of seeing how much this was affecting me as I didn't show him any weakness, though the chief lion kept his word since it felt like he was looking through me or behind me and he didn't seem to be taking perverted pleasure in this even if he appeared he was so at least he wasn't getting off on my suffering.
Either way, the chief lion removes a remote from his pocket and the high-pitched noise it makes as he presses a button hurts my ears, then I tensed up as the wall on my left opens up to reveal a lavish bathroom colored in lavender as a pure white bathtub stands in the center of it with an oval-shaped golden-framed mirror in front of it.
Even from this distance, I can smell the elegant scent of soap and roses as I stared at it, and even though it looked nice, it still made me feel uneasy at the sight as I turned my attention back to the chief lion.
"This is a necessary process to prepare you so that I can enjoy you as the best meat," the chief lion stated, horrifying me greatly as I struggled to remain calm and not panic before I soon became lost in my own thoughts while I went to do what he wanted me to do.
'Dear...wait...how the hell do you write something like this? I haven't been taught this in Cherryton and I doubt that I learned about it before I lost my memories, so I had hoped that I wouldn't need to do this until I had reached the near end of a long and healthy life...but I have the sudden urge to reflect on these past few months I have experienced.
Oh well, this is going to be one hell of a sad imaginary will so to whom it may concern, my life is about to end in a rather shitty and pitiful end since I had been kidnapped by a group of lions and now, I'm being inspected and judged whether I'm going to make a good meal for this sick son of a bitch, so talk about fucked up.
But, looking back at the things I've discovered on what kind of person I used to be before I lost my memories, I should've expected this kind of end since it was clear that I used to be a dangerous person and that this is my karma, so the odds of discovering my lost past before trying to find my place in this world and attempt to live a happy life seems to be a pipe dream at this point...just nothing more than a lost cause.
I don't know what my life was like before I lost my memories, but it doesn't seem to matter now and I'm sure the people who supplied me with all those things in the safety deposit box are going to be happy that I'm dead since me surviving being shot probably caused them problems.
Either way, I was scared of being alone but I was more afraid of letting people get close to me because of how dangerous I was, though I wanted people to remember me since I didn't want to die forgotten and as a nobody in this world so I wanted to form bonds in this fresh start I have been given, but I had no idea how.
In the end, I managed to find a way and have formed friendships with so many people such as Haru, Jack and the others in room 701, members of the drama club, Louis...even though things started poorly between us, and Legoshi...the awkward yet kind gray wolf who never knew how to socialize with someone.
Legoshi, you were my glimmer of hope in this world so maybe, if I had been more selfish and...less of myself...you and I would've been together while we might've had a future, not to mention that you've never seen me as something strange and treated me unfairly or like some weird spectacle to look at for entertainment and you weren't afraid of me after the incident in the train station.
You always saw me as me and even though my life had changed after getting shot and losing my memories, meeting you and getting to know what kind of person you are has made my life even crazier than before, but I never regretted it and I also experienced feelings that I'm not sure I have before...love.
I'm in love with you, Lego-head, and it's a bit tacky to confess now, isn't it? When I'm so close to dying, when there is no longer a future for us, so please don't forget about me since this will be my end and I hope you'll be my legacy.
Legacy...what is a legacy? It's planting seeds in a garden you never get to see and I made the sketch for a painting someone will finish for me so, death...you tried to take me away last time but I escaped and little did I know, I was only running on borrowed time these past few months so now my time's up.
Nobody's coming to rescue me, nobody is going to come for me and this world, one that I've never belonged in, has deemed today as the date on my tombstone, but...'
"Just relax...disgrace and humiliation circulate the blood throughout the body and thus further enhances the flavor of the meat," the chief lion said, snapping me out of my thoughts as lightning occurs outside and I steady myself on my arms.
As humiliating and fucked up as it is, I hoped that I could buy some time if I just did as the twisted piece of shit asked of me so here I was, naked and on my knees as the feline presses his hand against my back while being careful not to taint me with his claws since it would ruin the meat, apparently, but he did sound displeased when he discovered the two scars on my back and said that he would work around that while his gaze burns into me and I gritted my teeth as I glared at the carpet.
"Hey, old man," I spoke suddenly, making him pause and I quickly acted by moving onto my back and kicking the chief lion's cane several feet away from him.
The feline was taken off guard by that and I used that to my advantage by standing and hurrying over the antler display and grabbed one of the katanas, pulling out the blade from its holster and I turned around with a dark grin as the sword's handle felt familiar in my hand for some reason.
"Pardon me, motherfucker, but while you were boasting away, I was writing a will in my head and doing some much-needed reflecting so disgrace and humiliation circulate blood and enhances the flavor?
Well, sorry to disappoint you, but I am quite calm right now while you're about to eat the meat of a human who's been through hell and back, so enjoy it while you can! You should hurry up though, the flavor is getting worse by the second but just so you know, you were never in control in the first place since I made you think that you were.
And now...I'm not going down without a fight!" I exclaimed defiantly before the silence suffocates me as I watch him, the feline's eyes filling with sadistic satisfaction and anger while he growls as he presses his cigar against the back of his hand and my smirk grows at how his composure was slightly broken.
"Sounds like I spoiled you a bit too much, so I refuse to accept tough meat and that means I've got no choice but to violate you," the chief lion growled as he stood up and I sent him a vicious glare as a realization came to me.
'I get it, I know why I didn't die all those months ago...because I still have unfinished business in this world!' I thought as I charged with a roar, catching the lion by surprise but he managed to dodge the slash that would've killed him.
The feline let out a dangerous growl as I swung at him with expert slashes and he was forced to back up to avoid getting decapitated or sliced open while he tries to swipe at me with his claws, but I'm too fast for him as I dodged and weaved gracefully without anything heavy wearing me down.
'I'm not done yet, there's still so much I want to learn and experience in this world so that I can find my place in it while I have people I need to see again and fight like hell to earn it because that's what it means to be human in this world!' I thought while I let out a cry of fury and block the chief lion's claws with my sword, the two of us struggling to overpower one another as we let out feral snarls and glared at each other viciously.
Then I swung my foot and nailed him in the groin before letting myself fall to the ground, rolling away in time to not be landed on as he fell and was caught by surprise by the low blow so thanks to our struggle earlier and the pain, he appeared unfocused for three seconds and had no way of finding his balance so I used that to tackle him to the ground.
I pinned the feline's body to the floor with my own, his arms forced to his sides by my legs before I stabbed down and a scream of agony ripped from the lion's throat as the sword's blade was lodged right into the area beneath his pelvis, feeling a dark satisfaction rise from watching him suffer greatly for what he did to me.
"Now that I have your attention, I'm going to tell you something very important so listen up, you fucking abomination," I hissed menacingly, enjoying the fear in his eyes while the scent of his blood was making me crazed and wanting to rip his throat out with my teeth.
"My species, we're adaptable and will do whatever it takes to survive no matter what, even if that means resorting to fucked up methods just to stay alive because we're just like anyone else when backed into a corner with no way out," I continued as lightning flashed outside once more and I twist the blade around, earning another scream of terror and agony while I grinned ferally like a carnivore that had gone into a frenzy as my eyes glowed red.
"No matter how few we are, how weak we may seem, we'll always survive to come out on top and we proved that a century ago during the war," I finished as I smirked and moved my hand to squeeze the lion's throat, causing him to start choking as I gazed down at my prey with no remorse in my eyes.
With a scoff, I yank the sword out as I noted how he growls in pain and quickly replaced my hand on his neck with the sword, but one thing slipped past me and that was the blood from his nasty injury pooling around me and weakening my grip on his arms.
The chief lion gathered enough strength to rip one of his arms free and grabs my neck, claws digging into my flesh but his eyes gleam in confusion when I didn't even look phased and my smile only grew bigger.
"You don't know who I am or what I've been through, and you may very well kill me tonight, but you will never forget me and what I did to you so see it as a promise because if I'm going to hell, then I will take as much of you with me as I can," I said, sounding completely cold and dead while his claws dig even deeper into my neck as my sword push further into his.
Suddenly, the chief lion yanks his other arm out from beneath my leg and grabs the blade of my sword, keeping his hand on my neck as he rolls me over while throwing the sword across the room and away from my grasp.
His hand leaves my neck and slams onto the floor next to my head, supporting his weight as he bares his fangs while his blood covers my body and he towers above me with his eyes hunger and bloodlust, but I never lost my smile since I knew that I was going down with the knowledge that I took away his pride by humiliating him in such a manner so it would be a constant reminder of me after I'm gone, then his jaws began to lower themselves down to my face and about to rip me apart as I sent him one last defiant grin.
Unexpectedly, the lights shut off and glass shattered all around me as the chief lion was knocked off me, just before the person who saved me stood in front of me and my eyes widened when I saw that it was somebody I never thought I'd see again.
The shards of glass gleam like jewels in the blue light that dimly shines through the windows as no words can describe the relief in my chest, the happiness at seeing his face and that's why I didn't even bother to hide the tears of joy, nor the hiccups and the bright smile on my face.
"Legoshi!" I cried out in relief as I gazed at the wolf, who looked like hell with bruises covering his face and his fur was damp.
Legoshi was still crouched from his sudden entrance and holding the chief lion's cane that he used to strike the feline in the face, the wolf's gaze fixated on me and not leaving my face for even a second.
At this moment, he truly is a wolf to me that was kind, powerful, loyal, and a companion humanity learned to love and care for a long time ago...hunters that value family over everything else, a wolf that risked his life to save me.
"You came for me!" I exclaimed happily, too ecstatic to care about my lack of modesty since I wasn't wearing anything.
Legoshi stands up straight, a rarity when it comes to him, and sighs in relief as the warmth in his eyes made my cheeks tint red but when he removes his polo shirt and reveals the white tank top underneath, my whole face turns bright red in embarrassment just as the nice moment of us reuniting was ruined by the chief lion as he suddenly appeared behind Legoshi.
"Legoshi, behind-" I started to warn and was cut off when his shirt hits me in the face, making me groan in annoyance as I removed the obstruction from my face and saw the wolf and lion struggling to overpower one another.
"Sorry if it smells musky, but put my uniform on!" Legoshi shouts, kicking the lion away from him and I do as he says as I felt delighted to be wearing something again, though a small part of me was furious that he came here knowing that he could've died tonight as I ignored the fact that I certainly would've died this time had he not come here to intervene.
"You came, but what the hell possessed you to do that, you dumbass?!" I exclaimed in disbelief as Legoshi lands in front of me, the wolf's back turned to me while he crouches once more.
"Huh? A lot of reasons...I'll tell you later," Legoshi grunts in pain and I felt like smacking him in the back of the head while also hugging him tightly.
"You fucking moron!" I shouted while also laughing at his airheaded antics, but my joyful moment was cut short when the chief lion struck Legoshi in the face and proceeded to beat the hell out of him without stopping.
"He's right, you know! You really are an idiot for coming here and messing with me, kid!" the chief lion growled, his eyes completely deranged with bloodlust as I watched on with a horrified expression.
A/N I know, not cool leaving it on a cliffhanger but this chapter has been getting long enough so I think this is the perfect time to end it here, now the next chapter will have the infamous love hotel scene and I wanted to warn you that it's going to show two guys having sex with each other and you don't have to read any further if that makes you uncomfortable.
Still, I'm going to put a warning in the next chapter just in case but either way, let me know what you think about this chapter and stay tuned.
