A Powerpuff Girls Fanfic by: Richard G. Eubanks (Part of the What Felt Like Forever After Series)
Chapter 1: Five Hour Long Slumber
(A/N: Just a note that this continues from the Warehouse Breakout fic)
The City of Townsville! Where there's no time for an introduction! The Mayor just woke up in a dark room! "Zzz... mrff... *snort* huh!? Wha? Where am I?"
"Ah... great... you've finally awoken..." A mysterious voice said.
"Where are ya! Is that you Ms. Bellum? Cause if it is, it's not that funny!"
"Actually... no... to be honest... I'm not that well known. My work is left noticed, but I here am, unnoticed."
"Well... if you're not her... who are you then?" The Mayor asked.
"I prefer to never show myself physically; I let my technology do the work..." A pair of blue eyes appear beside the green eyes. "Though... I'm sure the girls have warned you about me in a few occasions. Am I right?"
"That depends... who are you again?"
The figure felt like they've hit an impass and a second voice said: "Why don't you just tell him now?"
The lights went on, and the characters became obvious. "Since you've clearly forgotten or perhaps it was just too dark in this room, my name is Silico. This here is Silicon Bubbles, a robot I made to counteract all three girls at once."
"Why didn't you make a robotic imposter of Blossom and Buttercup too?" Good question.
"Because, parts were limited, so I instead installed a system that allows her to change her form into any of the three 'thorns in my side'." S.B. demonstrated this skill by changed into the two other forms of Silicon Buttercup and Silicon Blossom, then back to her original state.
"But I prefer this one, it's funny trying to make her sound like a threat." S.B. admitted.
"So why did you capture me then?"
"I thought it was obvious, the girls are gonna be drawn here by a beacon in the sky; once the word gets out, they'll most likely arrive here at my lair, where I can then keep them held in the Duranium locks that bind you!"
"Wait a second... isn't that the only metal th- that can overpower the girls?"
"Correct! And once they come in here to rescue you, I'll do a fake-out, release you, and have them take your place as my captives! For once, it's a plan I don't see any bad sides in!" Oh if only you knew...
*Back at the girls' home*
Three lights flew out of the window. "Ms. Bellum sounded pretty 'on edge' when she called us telling us about the Mayor's disappearance." Bubbles admitted.
"How on Earth did he get taken so easily? Actually... wait... don't answer that." Buttercup said.
"Relax you two, we'll head over, and hopefully someone'll have some form of info on where he mayor may not be." Bubbles laughed and Buttercup just sighed. "Puns aside, let's get moving." The girls increased their speed slightly, and landed in front of Town Hall, entered it, and eventually made their way to the Mayor's office, where instead of the Mayor himself (obviously...) they were greeted by Ms. Bellum. "We came as fast as we could. So the mayor's disappearance didn't leave any evidence behind?"
"It was amazing too. The person who did this crime must've expected something to be left behind, so they may have taken the items as well, or put them back in their usual positions. This may have been cleaner than the time the Gangreen Gang was taking orders from Sedusa."
"HA! No way, those crimes were WAY too clean! This one has nothing on those five!" Buttercup said.
*Somewhere out in the junkyard*
"I swear I gots the strangest of feelings that someone is complimenting us for something we done did back then." Ace said.
*Back to the office*
"But still, it leaves room for questions." Bubbles admitted. "And you're positive no one left anything?"
"Well... I mean, it was more exaggerated than the full truth. I did find this however." She held up an imprint of a big green S on a piece of paper. Given this logo, the answer to the Mayor's absence became totally obvious to the trio of metahumans.
"Silico..." They all said.
"RIGHT YOU ARE!" A muffled voice said from behind the window. S.B. came crashing through the door and brought out her arm cannon, claws, and arm blade. "Now let's get this over with shall we?" She shot a couple of energy shots and in seconds, the dust clouds faded away and the office was in tatters. Everyone (except S.B.) had taken cover behind the desk which was defended by the girls to prevent further harm to the secretary.
"Is everyone except for Silicon Bubbles alright!?" Blossom yelled.
"Hey! That's just rude!"
"But you're practically debris-proof!" Buttercup retorted.
"That's true. I'm also lava proof, waterproof, a temperature resistor, and can recite the alphabet in seconds!" Blowhard...
"You also go down easy!" Blossom said as she fired her eye beams, cutting off the weapons S.B. had prepared.
"You little..! Doesn't matter, I can always regenerate those things... oh and btw, if ya wanna find your little lost mayor, catch me!" (A/N: Yes, she actually says the letters B, T, and W).
"Coward! Get back here!" Buttercup shot off in the direction of S.B.; as did Bubbles.
Blossom was about to shoot off as well, until Ms. Bellum interrupted to tell her something. "You'll know to be safe right?"
"Of course! You needn't worry too much; me and my sisters will help the mayor by any means necessary. You can count on us!" Strangely enough, her scarf was flowing while she said that. Ms. Bellum nodded and Blossom took that as her cue to leave. She joined with her sisters, who were just on S.B.'s tail.
"Do you three ever just GIVE UP!?" S.B. angrily yelled.
"Bubbles?" Buttercup egged.
"That's like asking the sun to stop shining!" Bubbles joked.
S.B. said nothing and increased her jet boosters' power. The girls too, increased their flight speed. They eventually came across a huge black building with a hidden 'S' symbol on the roof. All four figures made their entrance by crashing through the front wall; S.B. fled, and the girls spotted the mayor sitting in a chair, wrapped up in the Duranium coils. "Mr. Mayor!" The girls yelled.
They flew over and tried freeing him. "Hold on mayor! We'll get you out in no time flat!"
"Wait girls! Don't stay here! It's all a setup!"
"Indeed it is!" The Powerpuff Girls were then grabbed by a huge claw, once the claw reopened, they were all trapped in Duranium coils. "Foolish heroes. Your acts of doing nice have led you to fail; you all just couldn't resist saving your 'higher-up', so by luring you here AND trapping you, I'd say I've outdone myself." Silico said.
Silicon Bubbles blew a robotic raspberry, mocking the girls.
"Hhnngh! *Panting* Hrrgh! No way... it's Duranium!" Buttercup just realized this.
"Oh noes! That means we can't escape this!" Bubbles said in dismay.
"Silico you're the most dastardly, conniving, and insane villain we've ever met!" Blossom threw insults Silico's way, but he took them in as compliments.
"I try..." He said in a joking manner. "Now then, deriving my attention from these ants ("HEY!"), I believe it's time to relieve you of your state of captivity."
"WHAT!?" The girls yelled in surprise.
"Oh right... that's right... I never exactly told you why I took this one into my person. You see, I didn't need the mayor for any other reason in particular than to lure in you three runts; seeing as how my master plan worked, I'm going to pull a usual villain routine, and lift you into a huge hole with rotating spikes and a large fiery pit." The thing he spoke of opened up in the wall and Silico turned towards the mayor once more. "As I said before, I'm no longer in need of you; here's your pickle for being a nice hostage." He handed him a pickle and pressed a button on the remote in his hand; said button activated a jet on the back of the chair the mayor was sitting in. "Bubbles! What's the Spanish term for 'goodbye buddy'?"
She felt like it was necessary to answer this. "Adios compadre!"
"What she said." The booster activated, and the mayor jets off into the sky...
Eventually, he landed safely in the destroyed office after the parachute opened. The coils became loose, and he wiggled himself free. "Oh my... those poor Powerpuffs in danger, and I was used by that fiendish villain to do so..." The mayor walked over to his destroyed desk and sat on the busted chair, which collapsed immediately. "There has to be someone else who can help them... aw what am I saying!? They're doneso by this point! There's no way there's anyone who can help! There's no hope..." As if to prove him wrong, three VERY capable characters approached from the darker part of the office.
"No hope my south!" One masculine voice said.
"Yeah! We can help!" Another spoke.
"We're just as strong as those three, maybe just a little stronger!" A third one mentioned.
"Oh wow! Are you who I think you are?" The mayor asked.
"Not sure if it's who you're thinking of, but we're the Rowdyruff Boys!" The red Rowdyruff leader Brick said. "And in case you've forgotten, the name's Brick. To my left is Boomer, and to my right is Butch."
"We're no longer villains, so we don't have a problem with freeing those Powerpuffs." Butch said, arms crossed.
"Besides! They still owe us a battle!" Boomer said.
"Don't remind us. Yeah, like Butch said, we're willing to help them, for a favor in return of course."
"W-what would that be?" The mayor asked.
"You see, we've been told by those three that it was possible for you to have the police station delete our criminal/villain info. If we help them, YOU have to ask the police station to do just that!"
"Well, if you really mean what you say... ok! This'll be easy! Just a moment please..." He dialed the police station on his phone and started talking with the head of police. "Yes hello? I have something to ask of you." *Other line* "Nah... it's not THAT bad." *Other line* "Oh c'mon just do this, the Rowdyruffs informed me truthfully, that they've hung up their roles as villains. They want their criminal/villain history removed and wish to be known as heroes." *Other line* "I trust them if it's the only way the girls can be saved by this point; look just do it ok? Don't make this any harder." *Other line* "Ok good. Glad we reached an agreement. Now just tell me when you've got it taken care of." There was silence for about a solid few minutes, and the mayor was informed about the ruffs no longer being targeted as 'villains'. "Good to hear! You can come to my office later tomorrow, and I'll reward you for what you've done." *Other line* "See you too." *Hangs up* "Okay! You three can go now!"
"That's more like it! C'mon you guys!" Brick said as he and his brothers shot out the shattered window.
"I trust that everything will be alright with them taking charge."
*With Silico and the girls*
"Why won't the chain move? You didn't happen to break any of the important parts of it didn't you Silicon Bubbles?"
"I promise you... I did NOT."
"Hmm... must be a glitch in the system then... Your doom is coming I can assure you that girls! Just... not right now. I'll return!" Silico and S.B. left the current room and entered a separate room.
"Psst! Bloss! Think you can access Light Blossom right now? Her size may just break the Duranium coils under the stress!" Buttercup said.
"No use... if I can't free my arms, I can't intake any energy. Besides, even if I could, her size is altered by the space I'm currently in; so if I'm bound like this, she'll only match our current size." She did the Light Blossom process, and proved her point. "See? Look; she's no bigger than what she's supposed to be."
"At least she's radiating some cold energy; I feel like sweating right now..." Bubbles said.
"We'll get free eventually. Someone will arrive, the mayor (Light Blossom's particles separate)wouldn't leave our current state unattended."
"Knowing him, I sure hope so..." Bubbles admitted.
