The pair stepped out to see Kelly and Aria looking at the pair, Beurling gave Tomoko's hand a squeeze before the faunus's mum and sister spoke.

"So you two officially dating then?" Aria asked her face neutral.

"Yeah, we are." Tomoko said as she took a step forward, with the same look she had when Aira had kissed Beurling's cheek.

"And how long has this been going on?" Kelly asked her face as neutral as Aria's.

"Since last night." Beurling replied.

"Tomoko is this what you really want?" Kelly asked.

"Yes, it is."

"You're sure?" Aria asked.

"More than anything." Tomoko replied squeezing the brawler's hand.

Aria look at her mum who nodded, she then walked up to the pair stopping a step-in front of the pair, Beurling was getting ready for a slap or shout but to her and Tomoko's surprise Aria hugged the pair.

"Have you two really only been dating since last night, the way Tomoko was always next to you the other day I could have sworn you two were a thing before that."

"Yes and what do you mean the way I was acting?" Tomoko asked.

"Oh, let's think, the way you were always next to her, cosying up to each other and her keeping an eye on you, the glares you gave me all the time I looked at her, the way you would practically swoon about her in your letters, oh then there was the kiss on the cheek…"

"I was not swooning!" Tomoko pouted.

"So the whole she has sad but pretty blue eyes and…"

"I told you that in confidence!" Tomoko whined with a blush and Beurling could feel her cheeks blush to 'Did she really say that?' Beurling thought.

"Beurling might I have a word?" Kelly said, speaking for the first time since Aira had hugged the two.

Beurling nodded and followed the older woman into the kitchen, just as she went through the door frame, she could see Tomoko's worried face and Aria confused face, she gave the pair a nod before closing the door behind her.

Looking she could see Kelly coughing again before she turned to face the brawler "I guess you want to know why I want to talk alone?" Beurling nodded deciding to let the older woman speak first.

"I know what Tomoko's letting herself in for and I'm sure you do to."

"Yes I do."

"And you still want to date my daughter?"

"Yes ma'am I do."

"And prey tell why, why I should let you date my daughter?"

"Because I care about her."

"I'm going to need a bit more than that. Look I trust you, but I need to know why." Kelly responded keeping her voice steady.

"Because she makes me feel, happy is the best way I can describe it."

"Go on."

Beurling sighed putting her fists on the kitchen counter "I was angry at the world when I met Tomoko, I was angry at the gods, fate but most of all myself. Then Tomoko stepped into it, I admit I wanted to keep her at arm's length because I was scared, scared she's end up leaving like the rest the people I was close to, but then little by little, she got me to open up and before I knew it…" Beurling paused "I admit I'm scared about what's going to happen to her because of this, but last night made me realise that I can't have the middle ground, I need her, I want her in my life for good and I'll do whatever it takes to make that happen."

"Do you love her?" Kelly asked.

Beurling nodded "I've known what I felt for her, for a year now."

"Have you told her?"

"Not yet."

"Why not?"

"I'm not ready to say it yet."

"Beurling, no one's ready." Kelly sighed "I'm sure you've wondered about Tomoko's dad."

Beurling turned to see the woman with her head down "Kelly?"

"The day Tomoko was born, he went out to get something, I don't even remember what it was and he was killed by a hit and run driver, she never got the chance to know him, she knows the basic details but she's only seen a picture of him, he's really a stranger to her and that breaks my heart knowing he's not around to see her grow up and be the wonderful girl she is."

"I'm sorry, but why are you telling me?"

"That was the only time I didn't say I love you to him, when he left we just forgot the one time we ever did and I regretted that for my whole life, I know it sounds silly but it really haunts me, I don't want that for her, look I'm not trying to rush you, but this kind of thing can be wonderful but fragile so don't make her wait too long ok?"

Beurling felt a lump in the throat, she swallowed it down before nodding "I'll try, I will."

"Good, because life's too short not to tell someone you love them, now off you go I'm sure she's worried what I'm saying to you."

As Beurling opened the door, she was greeted by Tomoko standing close it and when the faunus saw her she hugged her tightly, nearly causing the pair to fall over.

"Tomoko dear, please calm down its fine." Kelly smiled.

"Sorry."

"It's ok, don't worry I didn't say anything bad to her."

(A few hours later-After much teasing)

Beurling was sat on the pairs bed with Tomoko laying her head in her lap and face tucked in the brawler's jumper. Maple and Frenda had gone down to get some dinner after the pair had filled them in on events of their trip down to Mantle, including the fight Tomoko had.

"What are you thinking?" Beurling asked the blonde.

"Not much." Tomoko sighed "Mostly that you're really comfy."

Beurling laughed a little "Oh, I'm your cushion now?"

"Not a bad idea." Tomoko said with Beurling sure she could hear the girl smiling.

"Spoiled."

"Guilty."

Beurling put her hand on the faunus's head and began to stroke down the girl's head, Tomoko sighed and wriggled a little bit before settling down again only with her tail wagging.

"You really like that don't you?"

"I love it." Tomoko sighed. The pair carried on like this for a while with Tomoko occasionally making a tiny growl noise whenever Beurling moved off the top of her head.

"Guess I found your weak spot." Beurling smiled.

"Mm, yes." Tomoko moaned.

"Don't worry, I'll keep going for as you long want."

"Thanks, do you this for Klara?"

"No, why do you ask?"

"No reason."

"Are you jealous of her?"

"No, can you not make me sound like a Yandere."

"A what?"

"Never mind." Tomoko sighed.

"This from your comics again?"

"It's manga." Tomoko whined.

Beurling giggled "Sorry." Beurling whispered "Now don't you think we should go and get some dinner."

"Erm, can we stay here a little while longer please."

"Ok, five more minutes."

(Next Day-Amity Colosseum)

"Hello and welcome to the first battle of this year's Vytal festival." The announcer said, "First up we have team BLUU."

"You know I'm not sure who I want to win here." Frenda sighed. As most of the crowd clapped.

"How so?" Maple asked.

"Well both of these teams have caused us trouble."

"Well think of this way, at least whoever wins you can kick them down a peg or two." Argent said.

"That's what we do with BLUU for exercise in school." Beurling sighed as she glared dagger at both teams. She was in the same boat at Frenda, she was hoping they would take each other out.

"And facing them, team GILD from Mistral." The announcer said.

"I hear your originally from Atlas, I hope you'll provide some measure of entertainment for us." Gilles shouted.

"I'm going to cut you down to size." Blau shouted.

"I'll enjoy seeing you try." Gilles smiled a smug smirk that immediately caught Beurling's attention.

As the start buzzer sounded team GILD moved behind Gilles, deciding to take their chances BLUU charged, the first girl an archer tried to take aim but a bright beam shot out Gilles hand and she flew backwards and into a guizer of steam taking out her aura.

"Come on!" Blau shouted.

The next beam of light was aimed at her but Blau managed to dodge it, however another one of her team couldn't dodge the two follow up shots, joined by rifle shots from two of Gilles teammates.

Gilles giggled as he saw the girl collapse with her aura deplete, Blau kicked her semblance in and charged full speed at Gilles.

The teammate of Gilles who hadn't fired engaged Blau's sole surviving teammate. Blau jumped up in the air and tried to strike but Gilles dodges and kicked her back, he then pulled the chain that he had at his hip and started to spin it next to him, Blau charged again and but she was struck by Gilles chain and blasted by a beam.

As Blau staggered to her feet, Gilles wrapped the chain around Blau's sword hand and blasted her again leaving her spawled on the floor.

While the girl who was engaging Gilles teammate was still standing, Gilles blasted her in the side taking her out as well.

"Hum, brave but foolish, must have been around those desert lovers for too long." Gilles scoffed as he walked away from the groaning team BLUU.

"He's going to trouble." Sgail said.

"Agreed." Beurling groaned only to feel Tomoko squeeze her hand.

"Don't worry, you'll beat him and I'll be sending you all the luck I can." Tomoko smiled.

Beurling smiled back as she squeezed Tomoko's hand back "Thanks, I think I'll need it."
