Chapter One

The Beautiful Vampirella

It has been a few years since Sonic's battle with Dark Gaia and his trip into the world of Medieval Legends. Nothing much has happened other than the occasional Eggman attack or another wild adventure. Even at age 18, Sonic is still his snarky, adventurous and carefree self.

Plus, he still made friends and had become a bit interested in romance as time went on, especially when it came to giving romantic relationships and the whole dating thing a shot. However, the hedgehog hadn't found the right girl...

And yet, little did Sonic know that things were about to change and the universe had plans for him. One day, the blue hedgehog was napping under a tree in Grassy Hillside Zone, well outside Westopolis after another one of his adventures.

Good old Sonic, even after all these years, he still loved relaxing in nature, he had yet to get himself a house and have a real place to call home for the first time since in... forever. Sonic woke from his nap, getting to his feet and stretching.

In the past few years, he'd gotten a bit muscular and he'd become more attractive too. his quills were a bit longer and his handsomeness had caused several women to shriek and swoon at the sight of him when he was visiting Station Square just last week.

He looked up at the afternoon sky, reminiscing of days long gone by, recalling all of his past adventures, the events that had happened in his life and the day he left home to explore the universe for the first time as vague memories of his family popped into his mind.

Just then, someone called out and Sonic wheeled around to see an anthropomorphic duck in a mail delivery uniform racing up to him with a rolled-up piece of paper in hand. "Hi, are you Sonic?" The mail-duck asked casually, "I was instructed to give you this letter."

Sonic nodded, "The one and only world hero at your service." The mailman then asked for an autograph. The duck handed Sonic a notebook along with a pen and the hedgehog signed the notebook and gave it back to the mailman before the duck gave him the letter and raced off.

'A letter for me, huh?' Sonic thought, 'must be fan mail.' He unrolled the paper and began looking at what he thought to be a decently written letter, the writer of the letter had seemingly written it in red ink. Regardless, Sonic read the letter...

Dear Blue Hedgehog,

I have been observing you for a long time and you are very handsome.

But now, after years of watching, I think it's time for us to meet in person.

Please meet me in the local graveyard tonight, I will be waiting.

-Ms. V

Sonic reread the letter a few times before putting it away and thought it over. He'd just gotten a letter from a Ms. V who'd been watching him from afar for a long time and, now, she wanted to meet him. Who was this Ms. V and where did she come from?

'Maybe she's my dream girl,' Sonic thought. He made his decision; Tonight, he would go to the graveyard and meet Ms. V. Breathing in the fresh air, Sonic raced off to find a bit of adventuring to pass the time until tonight...

Nighttime, 8:30 P.M.

Sonic cautiously pushed open the gates to the cemetery, flashlight in hand despite the light of the moon and the stars in the sky shining down from above. For the hedgehog, it didn't matter, it was dark and he needed the flashlight to help see clearly in the darkened graveyard.

Cold chills crawled all over his furry skin and his spines tingled a bit, the spiky speedster was on his guard just in case. After years of battling Doctor Eggman and other dark forces, he'd become more cautious and wary of all the evil and injustice in the universe that he'd seen.

Looking at the moon in the sky, despite its intact beauty, Sonic could still see that half of it was still missing, having been devastated years prior when Eggman had fired the Eclipse Cannon at the moon in an attempt to intimidate the whole planet into surrendering to the might of his self-proclaimed Eggman Empire.

At least the devastation the moon suffered hadn't completely affected the world, the weather remained the same and the tides were still normal. Sonic shook his head, shaking off the memories of the incident and preferring to live in the present. He and Shadow were on good terms now, Shadow had joined G.U.N.

"Man," the hedgehog muttered, "I haven't seen the faker in a while. Hopefully, he's ok and didn't get injured during a mission." He shone the flashlight around the graveyard, observing the graves and tombstones, more cold chills creeping up Sonic's back when he remembered this was where he was supposed to meet Ms. V.

But why would she select a graveyard of all places for their meeting, this was where the dead lay and when ghosts or zombies emerged, especially on Halloween, a time when the supernatural was more active and when demonic forces from the underworld emerged to cause mischief.

Hopefully, Ms. V wasn't a mysterious villain luring Sonic into a trap, the hedgehog was already under the impression she was a good person who just wanted to actually meet him and hang out with him. She had said in the letter that she'd been watching him with interest for a long time, but for how many years?

Little did Sonic know that someone was watching from the shadows, observing his every move and waiting for the right time to make herself known. The hedgehog heard a shuffling noise and pointed his flashlight at a nearby tombstone, catching sight of a group of bats sitting down and nuzzling each other.

The speedster breathed a sigh of relief, nobody was stirring up trouble or coming up behind him to attack and catch him off guard. The second the bats saw Sonic and the flashlight; however, they screeched and flew away, the hedgehog watched them fly off into the darkness.

He resumed exploring the graveyard, looking around and carefully treading around the tombstones so he wouldn't trip on one or break something, even being careful not to step on any flowers planted at the grave of somebody who's life had come to a tragic end during a city flood, probably the one in Station Square.

"Are we looking for someone?" A smooth female voice asked, "I'm right here, handsome."

Sonic wheeled around in the direction of the voice, pointing his flashlight. There, sitting on a large tombstone, wearing a revealing, red dress, black boots and a black collar-coat cape, with dark red hair, purple eyes and blue eyelids was the most gorgeous looking human-ish female the blue hedgehog had ever seen.

"Uh, good evening, Miss." The hedgehog said, nearly caught off guard yet captivated by her appearance and beauty.

The woman, probably in her early twenties or near Sonic's age, smiled, "Good evening to you too, blue hedgehog. Nice night, isn't it? Especially with the stars and the moon shining bright."

"Yup." Sonic nodded, 'Damn she looks pretty.' He gently took the woman's hand and helped her down from the tombstone, "It's a very nice night. Um, do you know a Ms. V?"

The woman giggled, "Sonic, I am Ms. V."

Sonic's eyes widened, "What the...? How did you know my name?"

"I heard about you and you just told me, blue hedgehog."

"Ok, um, I'm not callin' ya Ms. V because my gut instinct tells me that's not your real name just who are you and what is your name?"

"My real name," Sonic's new... friend replied, "is Vampirella Drakulion."

Sonic raised an eyebrow, "What kind of name is that?"

"Tsk tsk." Vampirella winked at Sonic, "Men like you shouldn't worry too much about my name or where I come from, especially when I'm the kind of gal who loves this planet and men. Ah, yes. Men, such lovely little creatures whom I'd be thrilled to sink my fangs into."

"Whoa!" The hedgehog exclaimed, "Fangs? You're a Vampire aren't you, hence your name Vampirella Dracula or Drakulion."

Vampirella whispered in Sonic's ear, "Yes, I am a vampire."

With his suspicion confirmed, the hedgehog got into a defensive position just in case. "You're not a robot built by Eggman, are you? I was starting to think you were cool until you said that you were a vampire."

"Can a robot vampire do this?" Vampirella asked, before Sonic knew it, she started dancing gracefully, twirling about and singing a small tune before blowing a kiss at the hedgehog.

"Ok," The hedgehog commented, "If you're not an Eggman robot vampire, what kind of Vampire are you then?"

"Something better than a robot vampire and even cooler than an Earth vampire." Vampirella whispered in his ear again, "I'm an alien vampire."

"Alien... vampire?" Sonic repeated, he became more fascinated with his new acquaintance, "Are you from another planet?"

"I am." Vampirella said, "I used to live on the planet Drakulea a long time ago, but after some... issues, I ran away. Now I live on this planet, among all of you."

"Wow, you should tell me more about your planet sometime. I-I think I'm starting to really like you, Vamp."

"Vamp?" The hedgehog's new humanoid alien... friend looked surprised, "Is that... Is that short for my name? Are you giving me a nickname?"

Sonic winked and pointed his index finger at her, "You betcha. C'mon, girl. Let's see an alien vampire smile on ya, lighten up a little more."

Vampirella smiled and that was when the blue hedgehog saw her fangs, her teeth looked very clean. "Oh ho ho," Sonic chuckled, "Nice teeth."

The vampire curtsied and blew a kiss, thanking the hedgehog for the compliment. Sonic held out his hand, "An honor to meet you, Vampirella. Sorry if I was a bit, ah, worried that you were gonna turn out to be what I was hoping you wouldn't be."

"No worries, blue." Vampirella said, shaking Sonic's hand, "Most folks are unsure about me until I assure them I'm the nicest... girl in the universe, despite not being human even though I try to blend in and be part of this world."

She looked up at the sky, looking at the stars and the moon, the hedgehog saw what she was doing and looked up at the stars and moon too. "They're pretty, aren't they?" Vampirella said, "The moon and the stars."

Sonic chuckled, "Heh heh, not as pretty as you, Vampirella."

Vampirella gasped and looked at the hedgehog, "Sonic, did you just say I'm pretty?"

The hedgehog picked up a flower and gave it to Vampirella, "Maybe, we just met and we're just gettin' to know each other. After all, I've heard of vampires. Looks like it's not every day a guy like me gets to meet one, especially one as attractive as you."

'I can't believe it; he's calling me attractive and actually flirting with me.' Vampirella thought, "Sonic, what do you think of me? Am I a nice person or do you think I'm a bad, shady person?"

The muscular hedgehog chuckled, "Are you kidding? You're very nice, you look nice and you act nice. Heck, you're more than nice. Our meeting feels like destiny, you sent me that letter."

"You really like me?" Vampirella smiled and cupped her chin. "Sonic, would you like to have a drink with me?" Sonic's eyes widened, "A drink with you? That would be way past cool, I'd love to and I'd be thrilled to know more about you."

"Then let us go have a drink and a meal." The vampire girl said with a smile, "Allow me to lead the way for I know a place."

"Lead on." Sonic said enthusiastically, taking Vampirella's hand. With that, the two of them left the graveyard with Vampirella giving Sonic directions as he swept her off her feet and zipped off at light speed to the place where they would have a bite and a drink...
