Chapter Six

The Hybrid Baby, A New Hero Is Born

It had been two months since the ritual and Sonic was living happily with Vampirella in a nice and cozy two-story house on a hill near a metropolis, they'd been doing fine and all had gone well. The hedgehog felt more happier than ever, even though he'd been happy plenty of times.

But things were about to change soon. One afternoon, Sonic was sitting at the table in the kitchen as Vampirella, wearing a red shirt, black jeans and a pink apron, made him a yummy chili dog for lunch. She seemed to be in good spirits, probably picking up on Sonic's good vibes.

As she finished putting the chili on the speedster's chili dog and set it on the table for him, Vampirella said in a sweet sing song voice, "I have some sweet news for yooouuu." Sonic got curious, "What is it, V?"

The vampire knelt down and whispered in his ear, "We're going to have a baby." Hearing this, Sonic's eyes widened, half shocked and half delighted but mostly thrilled and interested. Sonic embraced Vampirella in a romantic kiss before sitting down to eat his meal, his mind reeling with excitement as he looked forward to what was to come...

-Months later-

He sat by Vampirella's bed in the hospital room, a smile on their faces as the hospital gown clad vampire held their wailing, bundled newborn son in her arms. The baby was a purple hedgehog with a peach muzzle and peach arms, a tuff of brown hair on his head. When the little one opened his eyes, they were brown-red.

The doctor and the nurses in the room smiled, offering their congrats to the couple before making their way out the door to leave them alone. "He's so precious." Vampirella said to her husband in a whisper, her eyes widened when she saw a hungry look on the baby's face, "Quick, give us your finger."

Sonic put his index finger in the little hedgehog infant's face and, the next thing he knew it, the baby was sucking on his finger and the blue hedgehog could feel something sharp and realized that their son was drinking his blood. The baby finished sucking and burped. "Awww, he's half-vampire." Sonic commented.

"Mmm-hmm." Vampirella nodded.

Footsteps racing down the hall and the door opened, Tails coming in, gasping for breath. "I came as soon as I got the word." The fox said, "Where's the little guy?"

Sonic and Vampirella showed him, Tails looked delighted and held the baby hedgehog in his arms, sitting down while exclaiming, "Awww."

More footsteps and chills went up Sonic's back when Amy Rose burst into the room, combat ready. "I heard about something about Sonic and a vampire." She said with urgency, "What's going on? Is Sonic in trouble?"

"First off..." Sonic held up his hand, "I'm fine, Amy. Vampirella and I are a couple, she's a nice woman. Second, it's under control. I believe you just met our cute newborn hedgehog vampire hybrid baby boy."

Amy set down her hammer, clasping her hands as she noticed the bundled baby and exclaimed, "Oh, he's the cutest thing ever. She sat next to Tails and they both cradled the infant gently as the little one cooed and giggled.

"What's the little guy's name?" Tails asked Sonic.

The hedgehog seemed to flush; he hadn't even thought of a name for the baby yet. Eight months of preparation and the name didn't cross his mind. "Uh, well." He stammered, "We're not gonna name him Fangy or Vampironic or Blood or Sonic Jr."

"How about Bloonic?" Vampirella suggested, "Bloonic sounds like a nice name."

"That's a great idea," Sonic kissed his wife on the cheek and had Tails and Amy give back the baby, "We'll name him Bloonic." He wiggled his finger in Bloonic's face, "You hear that, little guy? We're gonna name you Bloonic."

"And he's going to probably grow up to be a hero just like you, Sonic." Tails said with a happy remark. Everyone in the room nodded in agreement and continued to embrace and rejoice the successful birth of Sonic and Vampirella's son.
