A/N: Most of the characters and the main plot belongs to J.K Rowling

Amelia Bones was a very busy woman, she was the youngest ever head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement after all, and that came with some requirements. She was known to be quite stern, and she was the sort of person who wouldn't take any shit.

She was currently in her office filling in some papers, when an owl came in and dropped of a letter. This wasn't unusual, she received letters every day saying that they needed some money back for some reason or another. She grabbed the letter and put it down on a corner of a desk.

The only odd thing this time, was that the owl didn't leave. She guessed that meant that it required an answer, so she grabbed the letter and read it.

Madam Bones,

My name is Remus John Lupin, and today I was with Harry James Potter, and we reviewed his parents will. It has come to our attention that one Sirius Orion Black did not in fact, betray the late Potters. He had undergone the Godparent Ritual, so it was impossible for him to do so, for he would be dead. In the will, it was stated that Peter Pettigrew was the secret keeper to the late Potters location, and he gave it up to You-Know-Who. If possible I would like to visit Lord Black at the earliest time possible.

Hoping you are well,

RJL.

The only thing she could do, was stare at the piece of parchment with her mouth open, and no words coming out of her mouth. She eventually recovered from the shock, and quickly wrote down a response. She would get to the bottom of this, she didn't know why he would have been imprisoned all this time, if it wasn't possible for him to do so.

She sent her response, and went straight to her files, she had 3 file cabinets full of files, she had a lot to go through, and she would start as soon as possible, it was possible that a man had been in prison for 10 years, when he was actually innocent.

Remus was in his little apartment in the north side of London, he was in a rather poor section of the city, it was hard to come by a job that would keep you for long with his condition. He was currently in the middle of cooking g his lunch when an owl appeared. It was a snow-white owl, and if he was correct in his guess, it was Harry's. He had told him about his pet. She had beautiful snow-white feathers and deep amber eyes, she must have been one of the prettiest owls he had seen. He went over to the owl, and removed the letter attached to its legs.

Dear Remus,

I'm sending this letter to remind you that you have some money in a vault left to you by my parents. I know of how difficult it is for you to get a job with your condition, so it will come in great help, and I hope you can also finish the cure for Lycanthropy that my mom was working on.

I hope the investigation on Sirius Black is going well, I was thinking of talking to Dumbledore about it, but I thought that I would wait for Sirius to bring up the matter when he's free. I just hope it wasn't him who killed the 13 muggles, because if he did, than I don't think he will be getting released.

Hope to see you soon,

Harry.

Remus had forgotten that he had been given some money from his two dead best friends. He didn't know why, but taking it just didn't seem right. He knew that they would have wanted him to have it, he had never liked it when they would give him some money back in the old days, it just made him feel dirty.

He would eventually take it, but at the present moment, a burnt smell was present in his apartment, he turned back to his cooker, and noticed he had burnt his omelette. It had started sticking to the pan too, so he can't have put enough butter in it. He did what he could to retrieve what he could, but it wasn't very salvagable. He put it on his plate and began eating.

Halfway through his meal, another owl swooped in through the open window, this time it was a brown barn owl with yellow eyes. He picked up the letter and decided that he would read it after his meal. The owl left, so he assumed they weren't waiting for a response.

He quickly finished up his meal, and reached over to grab the letter. The ministry seal was imprinted on the wax sealing the letter. He picked it up, broke the seal, and read the letter.

Mr Lupin,

I have reviewed your letter, and I must admit, it has piqued my interest. I will be searching for Lord Black's imprisonment files, and I'll get back to you. About your visit to Azkaban Prison, I will arrange it for the first of May. On that day, make your way to my office in the Ministry of Magic, and we will go together. I would very much like to get to the bottom of this. I also understand the fact that you were with Mr Potter, if he would like he may come too. In this letter, there is a piece of parchment excusing him of lessons for that day. Make sure to be here at 10 A.M.

Hoping you are well,

Amelia Bones, Head of the DMLE

Remus quickly looked at the date, and noticed that he would see his old friend in a bit more than a week. He sent a letter to Harry inviting him along, he expected that he would be there, but it is always worth asking. He also wrote a letter to Amelia Bones thanking her for her cooperation, and then he apparated to Diagon Alley, he had some money to collect.

Harry received the news about visiting his Godfather at breakfast, the day after Remus had sent it. He would accept the o, he wanted to meet the man, and also, who wouldn't want a day off of school, well except Hermione of course. He had relayed all of the happenings to both Hermione and Neville. Neville had shuddered at the fact that Harry would be visiting the place. Apparently, it was always cold, and you never felt happy there, because of some creatures called Dementors.

Harry didn't like the sound of them, and instantly he wanted to learn a way to fight them. 'Hopefully Remus or Sirius could teach it me over the summer' he thought, it would be nice to have some company, especially people who could tell him about his parents, and people who are actually part of his family in sorts. Remus was his honorary uncle, and Sirius was his Godfather, but also his uncle in some distant relation on his father's maternal side, who was a Black herself.

Remus had told him a bit about his family tree when they had met, he hoped that when he visited his family vaults this summer, that he could find some things pertaining to his family history. It interested him quite a bit.

May the first was soon upon them, and Harry was awake a few hours in advance, not because he was nervous, well maybe a bit, but it was mainly out of anticipation to find out the truth. He had gotten up, and had a long shower, when he came out he felt steam come off of his body. He looked into the mirror, and noticed that he had grown even more, but the need to build up his physique was beginning to become more pronounced. He wasn't fat or anything, it was just that he felt that his body was too slim compared to his height. That was another thing he hoped the two men he was about to see could help him with this summer.

It was at this point that he realised that his summer wasn't going to be relaxing in the slightest. He knew that he shouldn't over do it, but he was planning 3 different types of training this summer, so it should even out the lot. He knew the mist important would be his magical training, he had to be ready for events like the one that had happened here in January with Quirell. He still felt bad about that, the scene still appeared in his nightmares from time to time, admittedly less than before, but it still did.

Anyways, he knew that his magical training would be the most important, but it was closely followed by the other two. He needed to protect his mind from anyone who wished to penetrate it, but he also needed to build his physical abilities, so that he would have more stamina. All this training wasn't just for events like the one that had happened this year though, he hoped to be able to enter a duelling competition during one of the holidays in his second year.

Duelling was something that interested him immensely, ever since he had discovered magic, and its use in sport such as duelling, he knew that he would like it. It wasn't the fact that he could hurt people that interested him, he wanted to prove to himself that he wasn't able to be bullied anymore, he'd had enough of that while he lived at the Dursleys.

When he had finished getting ready, he made his way down to the common room, where he expected to see Hermione. However, that wasn't the case, so he looked at his watch, a watch that needed replacing at that, and it was about twenty minutes too early for Hermione to be here. He went back up to his dormitory, and grabbed his target that Neville had gotten him, and took it down to the common room. He had found out how to control one's magic, and he was able to participate in class demonstrations again. He didn't know why he had more power than others, but he wasn't going to spit at it. Accuracy was one of the things that he needed to work on the most at the moment, he wasn't terrible, but he only hit the target six out of ten times, and that was when the target didn't shrink.

He worked on that for a while until Hermione came down, a bit later than usual. "What are you doing up at this time ? I mean I know that you're happy about seeing Remus and Sirius, but you've still got a few hours before you leave." Hermione said in a matter of fact tone.

"Good morning to you too Hermione, " he said, and her head lowered a bit at the fact that she had immediately started by asking questions about his presence, it wasn't like he had never done it before either. "And to answer your question, I woke up earlier than expected, had the time to take a long shower, and even practice my accuracy a bit. So honestly, it was quite productive." Hermione nodded at this. "Wanna go down for breakfast ?" he hoped that she would say yes because he was getting rather hungry.

"Honestly Harry, we can't even eat yet, it only starts in 45 minutes." Harry huffed at this. "How about we both practice our accuracy ?" He looked up at her a bit surprised at the fact that she wanted to practice instead of reading. He wasn't going to say no to her though, so he nodded his agreement, and they began training. They had completely lost track of time while doing this, and before they knew it, they had gone over the time they were meant to train for, by 25 minutes.

As they arrived in the Great Hall, they had breakfast, quite a heavy breakfast in Harry's case, and just chatted idly. Hermione soon left for her lessons, and Harry was left waiting the remainder of the time alone. He was glad that he had brought the Herbology book that Tracey and Daphne had given him for Christmas.

He realised that he quite liked their presence, they were fun to be around. Even if Daphne was a bit cold towards him, but she had become much less so since the incident in January, but they still avoided hanging around too much because of the house rivalries. Well that was Harry's excuse at least, he wasn't sure how the two girls felt about it, he didn't know what they saw him as. He didn't actually understand why there was a rivalry between the houses, but it seemed mainly against Slytherin, nobody took a second look at Harry's friendship with Neville.

It was now 9.30 A.M, and Harry was to meet Remus in the Headmaster's office at 9.40. So he started his way to the office, he was in deep thought about the things that he hoped would come true. Like the fact that Sirius hadn't actually killed the 13 muggles, which would lead him to being free, but there was also the fact that he hoped that the two men would live in Potter Manor with him, at least for this summer.

He arrived st the headmaster's office, and knocked on the door. It was opened, but there was nobody by the door, so he guessed the Headmaster had opened the door with magic. "Ah Harry, how has your morning been ?" he asked with a twinkle in his eyes.

"It was fine sir, I got up a bit earlier than usual, but that's about the only thing out of the ordinary up until this point." He said. Dumbledore was about ta say something else, but his fire turned a bright green. Out of it, cane Remus Lupin, who had a rather foul look on his face seeing the headmaster. He was dressed in clothes that weren't ripped, unlike the last time they had seen each other. It looked like he had taken the money given to him, and used it well.

Harry and him had decided that they would wait to confront the man about why he didn't try to stop Sirius' imprisonment, he was after all the will's executor. Remus quickly applied a fake smile to his face, and went over to say hello to Dumbledore. He then walked over to Harry, and gave him a hug.

Dumbledore was surprised at the speed their relationship had developed. He didn't know why the two were asked to visit the head of the DMLE's office, but he wasn't one to go against the law, well not at that moment anyways.

Harry and Remus left through the floo soon after Remus had arrived, and they began their march to Amelia's office, mostly in silence. As they reached the office, they were greeted by a young woman with dirty blonde hair, a pretty face and deep green eyes. She seemed about 23 years old. "Good morning, do you have an appointment with Lady Bones ?" the young secretary asked with a voice a bit higher than the norm.

"Yes, under the name of Remus Lupin and Harry Potter." Her eyes opened wide st the second name

"O- Okay, just give me a second please" she quickly got up, and opened the director's door slightly. Her head was only in there for about 5 seconds, and she looked to them again. "Lady Bones is able to see you now." The two men thanked the woman and made their way into the office.

"Good morning, Mr Lupin, Mr Potter. Hope it wasn't any trouble finding my office." she said in a business-like voice.

"None at all" both men said at the same time.

"Good" she began "Now let's go see Lord Black."

A/N: Thank you for your support on the story, I'm trying to post a chapter every day, although as of next week that won't be possible, as I'll be back at school. Again, no reviews to comment on, except to say thank you for the positive comments.
