A/N: Most of the characters and the main plot belongs to J.K Rowling.

Harry had just finished throwing up from his first side-along apparation, it wasn't something that he was looking forward to doing again. They had arrived at a beach, it was rather cold, and there was a lot of mist, it almost seemed unnatural. Amelia was talking to a man near a sort of pier, he guessed that he would have to take the boat to reach the island. "You okay Harry ?" Remus asked, a look of concern on his face. Harry only nodded, he thought that he might throw up again if he opened his mouth.

They made their way over to the head of the DMLE. She seemed to have just finished her conversation with the man on the pier. "The boat that will take us to the island is on the way, it should be here in about two minutes. He has granted us 15 minutes with Lord Black, I just hope its enough time to understand what happened, and for you to talk a bit between you." she said in a defeated tone.

"Don't worry about us having time to catch up with him, we will use any spare time there is, but the most important thing here, is that we learn the truth, and hopefully free him, if we can, then we will have all the time in the world to catch up with him." Remus reassured her. She nodded her head to show that she understood.

"Lady Bones, what did you discover in Sirius' files?" Harry asked curiously, he had wondered if Sirius had been imprisoned for other things, among the killing of the 13 muggles and the traitor.

"That's the problem, there wasn't a file in his name, either it was destroyed by someone for some reason, or he never had a trial, and if that happened, there will be a lot of work ahead of us, plus the minister will be in trouble."

At this point the boat arrived, and they boarded it. The journey was made in silence, and the cold and the thickness of the mist only increased, even with his sweatshirt and the blanket they had given him, he was still shivering quite a lot. "Dementors, some of the cruellest creatures on Earth." Remus said answering Harry's unasked question. This hardened Harry's resolve to learn some sort of defence against the creatures.

"How can one defend against a dementor ? I read about a charm, but apparently it's really hard to, but I want to learn it."

"Well the only defence against a dementor is the Patronus Charm, and it is hard to learn, it requires a very happy memory, and quite a bit of power behind the spell. A lot of adults can't even do it" he said sadly, he knew Harry really wanted to learn this, not to prove he was powerful, that was already known, but so that he could protect himself and his friends if the need ever arose. "If you want, I will try teaching it to you, but don't be surprised if you can't do it, I know your past wasn't the best." Harry nodded in response to his honorary uncle's statement.

Harry would invite him to Potter Manor later on, hopefully when they get some good news on Sirius' part. The rest of the journey was finished in complete silence. It was getting colder by the second, and Harry and Amelia were shivering when the boat arrived at its destination, but Remus seemed to be more resistant to the creatures. Harry wondered if it had anything to do with his furry little problem.

Amelia rose her wand, and muttered a spell. The next second, a blue mist was pouring out of her wand, and a couple of seconds later, a fox appeared, but not in a natural form, it was bright blue, and a bit larger than a normal fox. He looked at it in awe, he wished that he could produce something like that.

"Every person has their own Patronus, mine for example is a wolf, the animal's traits are the same as. For example, a fox's traits are patience, wisdom and adaptability, it is also more common among women. Mine being a wolf, represents loyalty and patience. Your father's was a stag" he then leaned closer to Harry and whispered only loud enough for him to understand "it was also his illegal animagus form, but don't go around boasting about it, he wasn't registered." Harry nodded, and they followed Amelia Bones. Her patronus was countering the effects of the dementors, but not much.

"Permission to produce my own patronus Lady Bones ?" Remus asked, it wouldn't help him much, but it would help his companions.

"Permission granted, I must say you seem to be holding up well against their effects" she said, it wasn't public knowledge that Remus was a werewolf, but just by his resistance to them, she had guessed.

"Yes, well I guess it's a natural ability" he said shrugging, looking at the ground.

They arrived at the main gate to the prison, and a guard was waiting for them. As soon as he saw Lady Bones, he opened the gates. They walked through, each of them giving the man a curt nod as a 'thank you'. The prison was a tall tower, on an island barely big enough to hold it on. Harry could hear screams from where he was, it made him feel uneasy.

They walked inside, and there was a man waiting for them. He was quite tall, with a black cloak, he had a beard which he had let grow, it was a mess, his red hair reached the middle of his back. He and Amelia were talking, and yet again, it only took a couple of minutes for her to return.

"They are going to bring Lord Black down here, they didn't think it would be good if some prisoners here saw Mr Potter, or is it Heir Potter ? Sorry, I didn't think about it before." She looked at Harry and waited for his response. He had wanted to keep it quiet, but he didn't want to lie to the person who had agreed to go see his Godfather.

"It's actually Lord Potter, I've been a Lord since the first of August." he responded

"I thought that the Potter's only became Lord on their fourteenth birthday." she said with a confused expression.

"Yes, well I'm also Lord Peverell, and that meant that I could claim both of them, because the Peverell's could claim their Lordship from 11 years old."

"Ah I see, I'm guessing you want it to be kept quiet, otherwise it would be known." Harry nodded at this. A few seconds later, they heard footsteps approaching.

The door to the room they were currently in opened, and the man they had met at the entrance came in, and a few seconds later, another man came in. He had hollow eyes, they looked like they were dead, a sunken face, he had long hair that didn't seem it had been washed since he had arrived, his beard was also long, and unkempt.

The man looked at Remus, and he smiled, it seemed to hurt his face, by the looks of it, he hadn't smiled in a long time. "Moony !" he said in a hoarse voice, that too didn't seem like it had been used in years, not much anyways. He started making his way over to him but was stopped by the guard, who looked over at Amelia for permission to let him go. She nodded, and he released Sirius, who walked straight to his old friend. They shared a hug, both of them had tears in their eyes.

Remus pulled away after a short while, looked at his friend, and inclined his head towards Harry. Sirius seemed confused st his friend's gesture, but understood it quickly. He looked at Harry, and he froze. "Harry." was all he said, it was just above a whisper, he then launched himself at the boy, hugged him, and started crying heavily in his shoulder.

Harry didn't really know what to do in this situation, so he patted the man's back rather awkwardly, and said "It's okay Padfoot"

Sirius looked at him in surprise, but smiled, it made him look about 20 years younger. "The last time you called me you said Pafoo" he said with a chuckle. Then his face gained a curious expression. "What you both doing here ? And how old are you pup ?" he asked.

"Well, in my parents will," Sirius' face took on a sombre look "it said that Pettigrew was the secret keeper, and that you had performed the Godparent ritual, so we knew you couldn't have betrayed them. And to answer your second question, I'm eleven, soon twelve." Sirius smiled again, he did it a lot since he had seen his old friend and his Godson. "We came here to find out to what extent you were guilty." Harry said in a serious tone, which took Sirius by surprise, he definitely had some of his mother in him.

"It was my fault, I convinced them to use Peter, we knew there was a traitor among us, I believed it was Remus because of... well you know. I'm sorry, it was all my fault" he said, tears leaking out of his eyes again.

"It's not your fault Padfoot, you couldn't have known, I would have suspected me as well. But Pettigrew is dead and- "

"He's dead ?" Sirius interrupted "how ?"

"You killed him Sirius when you went looking for him after you heard of his betrayal" Remus responded.

"No I didn't, he escaped through the sewers, he made an explosion, and cut off one of his fingers." Amelia, Remus and Harry looked at him surprised. The traitor was still alive. "This is exactly what he wanted to happen."

"So it was him who killed the muggles then ?" Amelia asked, writing things down frantically in her little book.

"Yes, I would have said all of this in my hearing had they given me one. I was held in a Ministry holding cell for a day, then they brought me here, they said that I had proven that I was guilty at the scene."

"Who was it who brought you here?" Amelia asked, this was quickly becoming far worse than she had expected.

"I don't know, they wore a hood that his their identity."

"Very well, you will be coming back to the Ministry with us, you will be able to clean, and eat properly. You will stay there until I manage to get you a trial, but you should be free in a month's time. Hope gleaned in Sirius' eyes, it was the best thing he'd heard since he had gotten here, and the fact that he could get cleaned up before his trial was good. He hugged his Godson as strong as he could without breaking his own rather fragile bones.

They spoke a bit about Harry's schooling, and Sirius was surprised to hear that he was placed in Ravenclaw, given that his parents were both Griffindors. But then again, he seemed quite smart. He had explained the fact that he could learn spells without even trying, and Sirius found that a bit odd, he would have to look into it when he's freed.

Harry didn't tell any of them about the Horcrux in his head, he would do eventually, but this was a happy occasion, and he didn't want to dampen the mood. Sirius had shared a few stories of his time st school with Harry's father, some that Remus couldn't do as they'd only done some of these things alone seems they did it while in detention, which Remus didn't seem to get.

In general, it was a very pleasant time, especially considering the place they had just left. Sirius hadn't laughed so much in so long that, his cheeks felt like they had been stretched, he had cried happy tears for once and his stomach was hurting with the amount they laughed. He never wanted that moment to end. But eventually, it did. They landed at the better side of the two ports, and they left the man taking care of the port with a stumped expression, this only caused them to laugh even more.

Amelia separated with Sirius, while Remus took Harry. They arrived in the Atrium of the ministry. Straight away, people started looking at them curiously, others looked at him with a frightened expression. They all believed Sirius Black to be the man who had betrayed the Boy-Who-Lived's parents, but here they saw the two of them laughing together, and it surprised them immensely.

"It's good that they see you two laughing together, it shows that you don't believe it Lord Potter, which given your status, is quite important." Amelia said with a smile

"You're already Lord Harry ?" Sirius asked with a bit of surprise in his voice.

"Yeah, thanks to Peverell family, I could take them from eleven years old." Sirius nodded his understanding.

"I'm sorry, but you two" she said pointing at Harry and Remus "are going to have to leave, you can not join us down there. I will send you a summons each to the trial where you will be able to show your proof. Good day to you." she said. After a quick hug between Sirius and the other two, they left. Harry and Remus made their way back to the Atrium and went their separate ways.

A/N: Thank you for all your reviews, most of them just positives again, only one to reply to, and that is the fact that Harry wasn't only placed in Ravenclaw because he could learn spells quickly, it's because, he chose to as he had the qualities of all 4 Hogwarts houses, also, he is smarter in this than canon. In canon, I feel like he was dragged down by Ron, and this time, without him around, he's more focused.
