I don't own Night at the Museum

Washington D.C, 2009 A.D.

Heavy kohl colored eyes fluttered open as they came into contact with an unknown land, that is if she was to refer to this place as a 'land.' It certainly didn't look like Ancient Egypt from what she remembered but a replica of it. Where in the name of Anubis am I? she asked herself as she cautiously walked through the empty hallways of this unknown strange land. Her hand explored the items that were around her from the familiar jewels that were on display to a replica of one of her linen dresses that she used to wear. Her hand ran over the fabric, feeling a form of familiarity with it as her lips titled into a small smile.

A hiss was suddenly heard as she raised her dark eyes and looked in front of her. A large cobra had itself wrapped around a sign that stood planted to the polished floors in front of her. She took a deep breath and swallowed as the cobra's eyes turned and looked at her. At least it was a cobra and not a crocodile. The last thing that she needed was to feel the wrath of the God Ammut upon this strange place that she was still trying to figure out. Keeping her eyes onto the cobra, she cautiously walked around as her eyes lowered onto the sign.

Neferet

The sign read.

That...that is me she thought. If that was her, and she knew that she was, why was she is this strange place and not in the palace with her arms draped around - unless, she wasn't there anymore. She took a step back from the sign and bumped against the wall causing her to stumble forward from the slight contact. Was she...dead and somehow, by a strange form of magic from the Ancient Gods and Goddesses, came back to life?

No it cannot be! she thought to herself. Last thing that the she remembered was a fight that she had. A fight that had ended in someone, she couldn't recall whether it was her or someone else, dying. She turned her head to look back at the sign where she discovered that the cobra had slithered away but her name still stood in its original form. "Neferet," she said her name as if it was for the first time, which felt like it was after these many long years that she had been...it was better to think that she had been sleeping rather than dead.

With these small clues that she gathered, she couldn't pinpoint where she was exactly. No matter where she turned she saw pictures of Ancient Egypt hanging on the wall and many display cases featuring the many jewels that previous pharaohs wore but deep down, she knew that this was not Ancient Egypt. If she was to explore farther away from this place maybe she could, hopefully, get an answer. Taking a deep breath, she headed forward and into a cool night where she met by various other buildings that surrounded her.

Not Ancient Egypt she reassured herself. There was no need to get nervous, yet she couldn't help but clasp her hands together to keep them from shaking. Slowly, she shut her eyes and reassured herself that if she came upon any danger, she was willing to survive it. After all, a slight memory came into her mind where she had begged to be trained in fighting against any enemies. It was skill that she had wanted to learn not to only entertain others but also in times of need. A smile came upon her lips as she delved deeper into that specific memory learning the basic skills in fighting to the point where her weapon would clash against a khopesh that came upon her. As of now, all she had hidden in her robes was a dagger. Not as potent as a khopesh but it was something if it needed to be used.

Keeping her nerves at bay, she headed forward to explore these other buildings that she came upon. However, she steps that she took during the one night bought her back four thousand years ago to a time where she was unhappy.

A/N: Hello there! Thank you for checking out the story and for the past reviews. It has been such a long time that I left this story on hiatus and I do apologize on my part. However, I would like to finish it but not rush through it. There will be certain chapter additions then what it was originally before with slight changes to the story.
