Author's Notes: So this is my first FanFiction. I hope you like it , and will give me some advice on how I can better any future storys. Literature was not my best subject in school so I hope I do a good job and that you will give me proper structured criticism. This story came to me while I was rewatching the episode Befana season 2 episode 5. It takes place some time before Miracle Queen season 3 episode 25/26. Enjoy!
"Here's the prescription you requested." the pharmacist said, handing a small bag to a young girl in pigtails.
"Thank you very much." Marinette replied taking the bag and walking down the street towards Master Fu's.
"Are you going to ask Master Fu about Ayla's birthday gift idea?" Tikki asked poking her little red and black head out of Marinette's purse.
Marinette smiled down at her little kwami friend. "That was the idea Tikki. I just hope Master Fu will agree to it, since we aren't technically supposed to use the miraculous for personal uses."
Tiki smiled knowingly. "That has never stopped any of the miraculous holders I've met. Besides I think this is a good gift idea, and not just for Ayla but Trixx as well."
"I sure hope so Tikki." Marinette walked into Master Fu's apartment having long gotten permission to come and go whenever needed. The old man was at the stove preparing a tea kettle.
"Ah Marinette your right in time for tea." Master Fu said setting the kettle on the stove before turning to face the young miraculous holder; who always seemed to brighten everyone's day. (His included.)
"Master I have your medication." Marinette said handing the bag to Fu who took it putting it in a cabinet, while Tikki and Wayzz took off around the appartment.
"Thank you very much, now come; tell me what's on your mind?" Fu said taking out two tea cups.
"How..." Marinette started in surprise but quickly shook her head, a small smile on her face. "I'll never understand how you do that." She muttered to herself taking the warm cup of tea offered to her.
"It comes with 186 years of experience." Master Fu replied with a chuckle sitting down and gesturing for the bluenett to follow suit.
Once they were both settled comfortably on the floor cushions Marinette set her cup aside to give Fu her full attention.
"Master I would like to ask you a favor." Marinette said in an unsure tone.
Master Fu smiled Patiently. "Of course, what can I do for you?" He asked knowing full well that any favors for Marinette was no doubt going to be interesting.
"I was wondering if I could borrow the fox miraculous Friday night and return it Sunday morning?" Marinette said carefully.
Master Fu became serious in an instant, is eyes narrowing in thought. It's not like Ladybug can predict the need for the fox miraculous Saturday. So why did she request it?"
As if reading his thoughts Marinette went on to explain. "Saturday is Ayla's birthday and I was hoping Ladybug might be able to gift her a full day with her kwami. Also it would give Rena Rouge a chance to join Chat Noir and I on patrol, as well as any akuma attacks that might occur on Saturday."
"Hmmm." Was all Fu said as he rubbed his chin thinking over her request.
"Thats a very interesting request. I don't think any of the miraculous have been used as a birthday gift before." Wayzz commented with Tikki floating beside him.
"I know it seems like uhh... misuse of the miraculous, but I remember how much it meant for me to have Tikki there for my birthday. And I'm not saying that based on the fact that my Nona was akumtized and attacked me. I'm sure Alya would love some time with her kwami and I'm also sure Trixx would like to get to know her holder a bit more." Marinette said trying to stress her logic and sediment in her request.
"Oh Marinette I was just as happy to be with you as well." Tikki cried flying up to hug Marinette's cheek.
"Hmm, I am not sure it is the best idea to let any of the other miraculous holders keep their miraculous at all let alone for personal use; even if it is only for a day." Master Fu began thoughtfully causing Marinette to deflate in understanding.
"Master, I think Marinette has proven that she can..." Wayzz started to say but stopped as Fu raised his hand to indicate he was not finished talking.
"However," Fu continued with a small smile "I trust you. You are one of the most powerful Ladybugs to exist, yet show no signs of power hunger. If you think good will come out of letting Rena Rouge out for her birthday, then I trust you to take on the responsibilities that will come with that." He said suprising everyone in the room. Marinette lit up instantly.
"Thank you Master! I promise it will only be for Saturday, and I will make sure Ayla understands the restrictions and responsibilities that come with having her miraculous for any amount of time. Plus the two of us are supposed to spend most of the day together anyways." Marinette replied solemnly.
Master Fu nodded with a smile, and was about to reply when there was a loud explosion outside followed by the akuma alert on their phones. They both looked out the window then back at each other knowingly.
"Goodbuy Master, and thank you again. I'll be by before patrol on Friday to pick up the fox tail necklace." Marinette said as she quickly rushed to her feet and out the door to go transform and kick the butt of whatever akuma was currently terrorizing Paris.
Master Fu stared after his pupil chuckling to himself. "That girl will never cease to suprise me." He said to his green companion, who simply nodded.
Friday night around 10:00PM at night Ayla was at her desk downloading the newest akuma attack to the labyblog when there was a knock on her window.
Ayla looked up to see Ladybug, and she immediately rushed to let her idol into her room.
"Ladybug! What brings you here? Is there an akuma attack? Oh wait let me get my phone..." The young reporter said in excitement.
Ladybug smiled at her friend. "Calm down Rena Rouge." She said quickly causing Ayla to halt and immediately put her phone away again at the mention of the superhero name.
"There is no akuma attack right now, but I need you to keep this between us, and to some extent Chat Noir." Ladybug said keeping her voice serious, despite the fact that she wanted to be just as excited as her friend.
"Of course Ladybug, anything you need." Ayla replied thinking back on when her two favorite hero's had asked her to dress as a cardboard villain, in an attempt to help Mr. Damocles's Dream of becoming a hero come true.
Ladybug giggled a little at the same memory. "Well I do believe in a little less than two hours from now, is the start of someone's birthday." She continued in a slighty mischievous tone.
In that moment Ayla's eyes got so big she looked like a Powerpuff Girl. Her face so full of happiness and excitement, Ladybug new it would not take much for it to start spilling over.
"And if said person agrees to the rules and restrictions that come with it, I may or may not have a birthday present for her." Ladybug said with satisfied amusement written all over her face.
The high pitched scream that suddenly emerged from the young reporter was one Ladybug had never heard from her friend before, and for a moment was worried about waking up the entire block. Why no one suddenly came rushing it to check on Ayla was lost on Ladybug as she looked at the red head bouncing up and down in front of her.
"Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! I can't believe Ladybug not only knows my birthday, but actually got me a present as well. Oh my goshhh!!!" Ayla squealed with so much excitement it made her dizzy.
Ladybug immediately became concerned that she may have gone a little to far in pleasing her friend when she saw her pass out from the excitment. She quickly grabbed the young girl before she could hit the floor, and layed her down.
"Ayla! Ayla!!" The girl in question slowly came back to and looked back at Ladybug in confusion.
"Ladybug? What just happened?" Ayla asked trying to clear her suddenly spinning head.
"You passed out from excitement." Ladybug replied simply rolling her eyes a bit, her voice full of concern; but had a slightly amused look on her face.
Recognition flashed across the young reporter's face as everything that just happened instantly came back. " Oh my gosh! I am so sorry, I did not mean too I uhh..." Ayla trailed off torn between still being excited about her gift, and being embarrassed from fainting in front of her idol.
Ladybug chuckled a bit as she helped her to her feet. "Don't worry about it. I actually think that might have been my fault."
Ayla started to giggle too, until both her and Ladybug were straight up laughing. Once they both calmed down something seemed to dawn on Ayla. "So why can't I tell anyone Ladybug gave me a birthday gift, can you imagine the scoop I could make from it."
Ladybug immediately became serious again. "For multiple reasons, the 1st being what the gift is. And the 2nd being for your own protection. Hawk Moth would no doubt target you and your loved ones as leverage if he found out just how fond I am of you."
"Oh yeah I guess that makes sense... Wait just how fond you are of me?" Ayla looked up at Ladybug in suprise.
Ladybug cringed internally at her mistake and quickly spoke to amend it. "Of course Ayla you are my favorite reporter, and was the first person I trusted to help Chat and I. You were willing to put yourself into danger just so that Paris would not be in the dark during the akuma attacks." Ladybug said praying that she would not try to read more into her affection for her.
She didn't. In fact Ladybug could practically see stars in Ayla's eyes from her praising and decided to quickly cut to the chase before she caused her to faint again.
"Anyways! As I said earlier the gift I have for you comes with terms and conditions that I need to go over, and insure you both understand and agree to." Ladybug said redirecting the conversation back on point.
"Right. Sorry. I'm listening." Ayla said shaking off her dreamy state.
Ladybug smiled and produced a familiar jewelry box. "Ayla Cesaire here is the miraculous of the fox tail, which will grant you the power if illusion. You have special permission to keep it for your birthday and your birthday alone. You will need to return it to me tomorrow night, can I trust you?"
Ayla took the box out of Ladybug's hand with a nod. "Yes Ladybug, you can count on me. But if there is no akuma attack what am I supposed to do with it?" Ayla asked opening the box causing a orange and white orb to float around her before developing into the little fox kwami.
"Spend time with me, of course!" Trixx announced as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Ayla raised her eyebrow at the kwami as she wrapped the necklace around her neck, then gave Ladybug a questioning look.
"Trixx is right, my birthday gift to you is a day with your kwami. You will have to look after both her and the miraculous, but that should not be a problem. If you wish to join Chat and I for patrol at 11 tonight and tomorrow, then you are more than welcome to. You may also join us in any akuma attacks within the next 24 hours, just be careful about maintaining your secret identity." Ladybug explained.
"Of course Ladybug, I will do my best. Although I'm going to need to wear a different outfit then I had planned to hide my miraculous." Alya mused to herself.
"Actually, when the miraculous are not in use they hide themselves in a way." Trixx said gesturing to the miraculous.
Alya watched in amazement as the orange and white disappeared from the tail leaving an onyx almost fishhook shaped necklace.
"This is so cool!!"
