I don't own Night at the Museum

Washington D.C, 2009 A.D.

Kangaroos, skeletal looking animals, a large octopus, and Ancient Egyptian soldiers were scurrying through the hallways of this place as Neferet tried to get out of their way. Taking a turn, she came upon a stamped of wild animals before she took another turn and ran into one of the other open pathway. Please let there not be any animals here! she pleaded as she picked up speed and ran as quickly as her feet could carry her. Right in that moment, she bumped into a person and almost lost her footing before catching herself onto one of the shelves for support.

The person that she had bumped into was a male slightly taller than her. He wore a costume along with a hat and held a weapon that Neferet had never seen before. He furrowed his eyebrows as he looked at her up and down. "Who're you?" he asked her in an accent that even she had never heard of before, not even close to Ancient Egypt. "Hey boss!" he yelled to one of the other men in the group, "we've got ourselves a funny lookin' bird here."

Bird? Neferet scowled as she furrowed her eyebrows and looked at him. "Excuse me but who are you to say that to me?" she asked as she looked at the man that had addressed her as such, "I am the Queen of Egypt."

The man who was called 'boss' let out a guffaw of laughter as he approached the woman. "Yeah and I'm Ramses II," he sarcastically said and held onto his weapon. "This ain't Mardi Gras doll, where d'you get that get-up anyway the Brooks Brothers?"

Neferet furrowed her eyebrows at the confusion that was overtaking her. No, no focus she told herself. Instinctively, she reached into her robes and pulled out her dagger and held it in front of her.

The men looked from her to the weapon and the guffawed once more. "Look at this," the boss of the group said as he pointed to the dagger, "ya think she's goin' to take all of us out with a little shiv. Think again doll," his eyes darkened as he used his weapon and smacked the dagger away from her grip.

"Agh," Neferet groaned as she held onto her injured wrist.

"You're little knife ain't a match against our Tommy guns," he stated and proudly held the gun against him before pointing it to her. "I might as well end you right here from that lil' stunt ya pulled. Just because ya think ya got a lotta dough doesn't mean ya can do whatever ya want."

With nothing to defend herself, Neferet didn't know what to do. This man seemed to have the upper hand and like he had said, he was going to 'end' her. Did this mean that she wouldn't awaken again the next night? She tightly shut her eyes and waited for what was to happen but nothing came.

"Damn," the man said as he looked at his weapon, "do we have these things loaded?" he asked his men and smacked the Tommy gun as if that was going to fix it.

Seeing this form of distraction, Neferet reached over and grabbed the dagger in her grip but she did not dare attack the men. She hid the dagger back in her robes and ran as quickly as she could from them.

"She's gettin' away boss!" one of the men yelled and pointed as her figure became smaller and smaller in the distance.

The boss adjusted his hat and glared at her. "Let her," he said, "we'll find her again or my name ain't Al Capone."
