I don't own Night at the Museum
Washington D.C, 2009 A.D.
It was unbelievable that someone like her he was to see again. He had not expected to see his baby brother with that strange man with the flashlight but her! He straightened his back and raised his chin slightly in the air as he looked at her. "So you are," he commented as he approached taking in her appearance. "The last I remembered seeing you, you were hanging for dear life on the balcony."
Neferet's smile almost faltered but she didn't dare let that memory cloud over her mind. She almost glared at the man before her but kept herself mild mannered in this...awkward situation. "Why yes," she said as she raised her eyes and looked at him, "whatever would I have done if you hadn't grabbed me in time."
Kahmunrah frowned at those words. "If my memory is correct, you fell from that balcony."
A light scoff escaped her lips as she walked around him, causing him to follow her with his eyes. "It's called sarcasm Kah," she said before realizing that was what she had called him the more time that they had spent in the palace. Many things that she tried to recall were still a foggy and distant memory but just by looking at this man before her, things were gradually beginning to knit themselves together into a story that she felt was going to relieve once more. "I think the sands of time have been rather harsh on your judgement towards the use of irony," she said as she ran a dainty finger under his chin.
"You-" he stuttered before getting a hold of himself, "don't you dare patronize me, woman!" he snapped at her.
A smirk came upon her lips once more. "But not on your temper. Goodness Kahmunrah, you'd think that four thousand years would change your tone of voice." Was she having a bit too much fun toying with him? Why yes, indeed.
Temper was fueling inside of him and if she was to open her mouth once more, Kahmunrah knew that he was going to explode. However, this didn't go unnoticed from Neferet. "In any case, I couldn't help but overhear that you are trying to get back your tablet...and that Ahkmenrah is here."
Kahmunrah folded his arms across his chest as he looked at her. "So you were eavesdropping?" he asked her.
Neferet took notice of those strong muscular arms that had held her many years before before looking up at him. "Accidental eavesdropping."
"No such thing exists," he told her.
"Is that so?" she raised a dark eyebrow and leaned forward looking up in his eyes, "neither do morals."
"You're the one to speak," he shot back at her.
She kept herself silent for a moment as she raised her dark eyes and looked at him once more. "I'm not the one who was jealous of her brother." With those words, she turned her back to him. However, that was something that she knew she shouldn't have done for she felt his hand clasp against her wrist and pulled her towards him.
