It been a log time, but I'm finally updating. Sorry about that. Enjoy!

The next morning, once Anduin woke up and confirmed he hadn't dreamt the events of the previous night, he ordered for their breakfast to be served in the royal dining room and invited Malfurion and Tyrande to join him. He was excited to be able to give the worried night elves some good news, for a change. They had lost their home, but they were getting back their daughter.

Kia slept soundly. Anduin knew this because he hadn't slept at all. He spent most of the night holding her tightly and watching her breathe. He also kept thinking about the tiny life inside her. He was going to be a father. It didn't feel real to him yet. He felt too young to be making such a step.

"You don't need to keep staring at me, Anduin. I'm not going anywhere." Kia said as she took a seat at the table.

"I know. I can't help it. It's irrational, but I keep thinking you'll disappear at any moment." He replied, looking away and into the fireplace.

Kia stood, walked over to her husband and wrapped him into a hug. "I'm not going to disappear. I'm home, safe and sound."

Anduin wrapped his arm around her and they stood by the fire, only looking up when the door opened and Kia's parents entered.

"Kia?" Malfurion said.

Kia rushed over to the night elf, accepting the hug he offered. Anduin marveled at how small she looked compared to her father. It was so easy to forget she was part night elf. "I knew you were alright. I just felt it."

"How did you get back?" Tyrande asked, hugging her once Malfurion released her.

"Anduin and I set up a special emergency transport for each other just before we got married. It took awhile for me to be strong enough to use it. I was lucky, though."

They all sat at the table, but very little breakfast was eaten. Kia told everyone about how she escaped and how she was saved. The news about the Tauren cheftian's assistance didn't seem to surprise either of the night elves.

"Of all the Horde leaders, Baine has always been the most honorable." Malfurion said. "Tauren in general have usually held up a higher level of respect and honor. I understand the part they had to play in the destruction of our home, considering the possible penalty their warchief would inflict upon their people if Baine were to push back against her rule."

"The problem is Sylvanas. She's the one causing this war. If any of the other racial leaders had been named warchief, I'm confident I'd at least have had a chance at negotiating peace." Anduin added, thinking.

Kia groaned. "I know the war is important, but can we talk about something else, please. I just...can't right now."

Anduin could tell Kia was struggling with all the events that had happened. Teldrassil had been Kia's home, just as much as any night elf. Its loss had to weigh heavy on her. Her newly charged hormones were probably not helping much.

"You're right." Malfurion said. "There's no reason to discuss such things over breakfast."

"Actually, there is bigger news to talk about." Anduin looked over to Kia and she nodded slightly.

"I'm pregnant." Kia said, unable to stop a smile from forming on her face, all thoughts of war and turmoil forgotten. "The tauren who healed me informed me, but we had the archbishop confirm it last night."

Malfurion leaned back in his seat, a big smile on his face. "That's wonderful news. It proves you can still have happiness, even when things are at their darkest."

Kia smiled even wider at her father's comment. Druids were firm believers in balance and that you can't have happiness without pain. This was probably the good news he'd been waiting for, since having to abandon their doomed home and almost dying at the hands of the Horde.

They ate breakfast peacefully, but something was nagging at Anduin. He was due to march to Lordaeron within the month. He'd be gone for probably several months. This meant that Kia would be left here without him during most of her pregnancy, since there was no way in hell he would let her come along with him to fight. Not to mention, Kia would be tasked with ruling over Stormwind in his absence, regardless of her condition.

Chances were Kia would want to keep their baby safe, so she'd not fight him about staying behind, but Anduin could never tell with his wife. He decided not to bring up his worries just yet. They were all happy about Kia's return and their future child. He'd leave the serious stuff for later.

Another part of the conversation involved him coming back from this battle. Anduin was now in his father's shoes, leaving his family behind, not knowing if he'd ever return. Kia was now in his old place, staying behind to worry if she'd ever see the one she loved again.

Oh, how time had changed things.
