This journey takes place in kanto,at least 10-15 years later.dark,steel,and fairy type Pokémon have been discovered at this time,and other events from other regions will be mentioned.This story is about a young teenaged boy who receives a starter Pokémon in an unconventional way,making new friends and rivals/enemies along the way,aiming for the title of the champion of kanto,currently being Red,who has gone undefeated in the 10 years that passed.meanwhile,something sinister is awaiting to take place.
The morning of the first day of his adventure, Makoto Saito wakes up to the sound of his friends calling him from his phone.still half asleep,the groggy-eyed boy answered.
M:hello..?
F:Hey man what were you doing all night!We Tried calling you for half an hour! A boy with a semi-rough voice responded.
M:oh,sorry. I was just so excited to start my journey with you guys that I-
F:save the extras for later,it's time for us to go to the prof's lab and-
Makoto dropped his phone and it let out a thump as he quickly got dressed and ready.
F,still on the phone:uh,you good bro?
M:yeah I'm on my way!just need to say bye to Ma.
F:yeah but hurry up!Brian and Marie have already left for the lab,they couldn't wait any longer!
M:Oh krabby, I really am late, he exclaims as he rushes out of his bedroom.
He runs to the kitchen to find his mom eating lunch,the sight of it making his stomach growl lowly.
Ma:Good noon my little Mako! (She calls him that as a nickname that his friends called him)
M:hey ma,I'm going to make my lunch and leave In a minute.I kinda overslept.
Ma:don't worry, I already made some for you,I have it here, she says as he notices a bag that he assumes is his lunch.
M:thanks ma,very much appreciated, he takes the lunch and hugs his mom before he makes his way to the front door of the house.
M:goodbye! An adventure awaits for me,but I'll come back often!
Ma tears up a little as she watches him leave,saying after he leaves:he grew up so fast,just like his brother.
Outside he makes his way down his street and finds his friend,Fieri waiting for him.
F:geez man,I was waiting for ages,might as well just get my starter and beat up a kid!, he exaggerated.
M:sorry,but hopefully they are still waiting at the lab.
F:yeah let's go!
20 minutes later, at the lab:
B:yes,this blue Pokémon is perfect for me!he looks cool just like me!
M@:yeah keep dreaming,this green one looks like it can kick your Pokémon's butt,if yours wasn't a coward!
Prof's assistant:please kids,they have names.and don't fight here,we still have one Pokémon for-
Makoto and Fieri make a grand entrance pushing the lab door open,almost pushing it off its hinges.
B and M@:Mako,Fieri,you guys are late!
M:sorry, I overslept!
F:sorry, he overslept
Makoto looks in Fieri's direction to find a mocking face looking at him.
F:so,what Pokémon did you guys pick?
B:I picked the blue one!his name is squirter or something.
M@,attempting to correct him:no you idiot,its name is squirtle,didn't you listen to the science guy?
B:oops,sorry squirt!
His squirtle looks at him,displeased with the nickname.
M@:anyway I picked this bulbasaur,he is such a cutie!
Bulbasaur seems content with the compliment it got.
M:so that leaves one right? Makoto asks,unsure.
Unfortunately to his dismay, Brian and Marie both nod.
F:damn,that means that one of us won't get a Pokémon huh?,he says sadly.
M:yeah.at least let's see it first.
F,feeling bummed:okay I guess.
B:dang, I never saw Fieri look this sad since that time his dad wouldn't let him ride his tauros.
Marie agreed,feeling a little down herself.
B:hey,let's cheer up with a battle,let's check up with them later,right?
M@:okay..
Meanwhile, in the main room of the lab:
M:wow, look at its tail!
F:yeah it's so cool!
Prof:I see you too are interested in this one!charmander is its name.unfortunately I only have one so you kids have to decide who gets it.
F:it's okay,he can-
M:No,you can have it!
F:w-wait,really?
M:yeah,he looked at you more and I think it fits with your name.it's like you two were destined to meet!
F:wow,thanks Mako.I'll never be able to thank you enough!
Prof:well it's settled then!the charmander is yours kid!
F:yes!my first Pokémon!from this moment I'm a real traine-oops.sorry Mako.
M:it's okay,I don't wanna ruin your moment.I'm feeling hungry anyway so I'll have lunch outside.
F:okay,I'll see you outside then.
Makoto steps outside of the lab,almost getting hit by a flying turtle shell.
M@:looks like that's my first win!thanks for taking the L,Brian!
B,feeling overwhelmed:yeah it's all good.
They notice Makoto standing before the chaos that ensued right outside the lab,leaves and mud covering the once spotless pavement.
B:so who got Charmander?
M:I let Fieri have it.anyway I'm going to eat my lunch somewhere less covered in mud, so see ya guys later.
M@:hey wait! Don't you want to hear about our first battle?
Makoto ran,trying to ignore the thought that hadn't left him since he left.
"No,I don't want to be left alone!"
He stopped to take a breather and realized he ran all the way to a hill on route one.
He finds shade beneath a tree on the hill and slumps down in sadness.
M:I can't believe it.I'm the only one who doesn't have a starter,so I can't leave with my friends.I guess I'll have lunch before I tell the news to my mom.
He reaches into the bag to feel a smooth,round,cold surface.he grabs it and pulls out a ball.Half red, Half white,he realized...
M:this is a poké ball!
